IS-Retail: Migration of Sites (Retail plants)
Hello!
I have to migrate over 1'000 Retail Sites of SAP a 4.0B system in a ERP 6,0 system.
Now I cannot find a suitable method, to migrate this master data (IDOC, batch input). Is there another solution?
Does someone have experience thereby?
Thanks & regards!
Hi Jonk,
So if i understood right :
- I should create all the site manually (more than 1000 ?) and then transport them to QAT.
- Add the customer (and some retail tables) via the standard ALE distribution
- Add the vendor via ALE distribution if existing
I think that the use of a specific Idoc would ease the site recovery because of the volume ( more tahn 1000 )
Thanks for your return

Hi, While coping you will get from and to client, hope you are entering in a wrong place while coping. You select a PLANT from Where you are coping in " FROM" and enter New Plant in "TO". -
I have created a custom blog site definition using SharePoint 2010 blog site definition with Configuration ID 31 in onet.xml (new value). This was working fine for SharePoint 2010.
We created new SharePoint 2013 farm and deployed the all Custom solutions in
14/15 folders. After migrating the sites to SharePoint 2013 using Content DB approach, site created previously using my custom definition are working fine.
But after running site collection upgrade these sites stop working. When I post a comment then comments not getting listed on post detail page. However comments are getting added to Comments List but
PostTitle column of Comment is not getting populated.
Also, when we create a new site in SharePoint 2013 using my custom blog template then that is also not getting provisioned. default.aspx and look-up between post and comment list are not working.
If any one has faced such issue then please share your findings and any solution to fix this.
Thanks in Advance :)Hi ,
According to your description, my understanding is that the blog based on custom blog site definition didn’t work correctly after migrating custom blog site definition to SharePoint 2013.
If you customized the Onet.xml file in a previous version's site definition, you should modify some sections in the file to work in the current version, like <BaseTypes> and <ListTemplate> etc. More information, please refer
to the link below:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/aa543837(v=office.14).aspx
For that the PostTitle column of Comment is not getting populated, please try to modify the view, then compare the result.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,

Migration a site for the portal
Hi,
I am migrating a site for the portal.
The size of the site is 30 MB.
I created a zip containing the whole site inside for unzip of the portal.
the problem is that the portal joins during the unzip.
does some exist restriction with relationship to that?
Thanks,
Renato VieiraThis is a sample template which explicitly was not implemented to support Library Services. The OOTB sample application in which this template lives does not have Library Services enabled on the repository. You are free to take this sample and modify it to suite your needs, either for learning or to modify to meet your requirements. The template was amply commented so that you can follow the ideas and implementation.

Migrating iWeb site from '06 version to '09 version
I recently found that I could not publish a blog page using my old '06 version of iWeb and was instructed to upgrade. I just upgraded to the '09 version. It was also recommended to me that I first save my iWeb site onto a USB, which I did. I now have the new version installed on my computer and need to know how to transfer/migrate the website onto the new iWeb version.
Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
It was also recommended to me that I first save my iWeb site onto a USB
The file you should be backing up is named Domain.sites which is located in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. The published web site can be found on your server and doesn't need to be backed up.
With the new iWeb installed, and a backup of your domain.sites file on the USB drive, launch iWeb and it will open the domain file, convert it to the 09 version.

Migrating web sites to new server
Hello all,
just got a new Mac Mini Server edition with the latest Snow Leopard etc. I am migrating all my various sites from the old server which was just running standard Leopard. I am having a hard time finding where everything goes. If anyone can point me to some good tutorials on setting of web hosting using Snow Leopard I'd really appreciate it.
For example, we use the server for local testing only, not public serving so on the old server we'd just go to http://192.168.1.5/sitename and that worked great. So where the heck is htdocs located on Server? Most of are sites are PHP/MySQL stuff like Wordpress and Joomla etc. So I'm guessing I'll need to enabled PHP 5 and MySQL and all that. I've got a few good tutorials bookmarked for that, but if anyone has a great Server specific one, let me know. I'll be porting everything using phpMyAdmin.
Looking at the help info for the Web Server Preferences, it says adding sites is for static HTML sites of which I have basically none.
I'm going through the Server booklet that came with the Mini, but I could really use some tips on where to put things like our shared project folders etc. I'm new to this server configuration stuff. Thanks a ton for any tips!I am trying to do the same thing. I have an old Leopard server that has some internal websites on it. I am planning to migrate them over to a new Snow Leopard server this summer. I am just now starting to play with it. I wave been able to successfully move over wikis, but am having trouble with the user blogs.
To move the wikis, I found them in /Library/Collaborarion/Groups. Each wiki was listed as a separate directory. I moved the contents of the groups folder over to the new server in the same directory, and changed the permissions to those directories to match what they should be. To do this, I went into Server Admin and file sharing and browsed to the Groups folder (no further in) and propogated the permissions (owner and group names) down to the contents of the Group folder fo that each user and group was _teamserver. Shop and restart web server and the wikis were back.
I tried to do the same for the users, but that does not seem to work. Still trying some things there. I did not do any of the things that power mac suggested with php or mysql.
Hopefully, this works for you. I will try to post if I can figure out the user blogs. I would have thought they would have worked the same way as the wikis, but they were in the users folder instead of the groups folder. They are all listed there in the finder, but they do not show up in the web interface when I list the user websites in snow leopard. -
Struggling to migrate sharepoint sites developed on dev or qa over to production
So, user 1 comes along and wants to put together a new site. He wants to use SharePoint Designer to set up pretty colors, create a new theme and use it, create a series of custom lists, etc.
Meanwhile, on these same machines, there is a variety of InfoPath development occurring by developer 2. The development is going on in a different site collection than user 1 is using.
User 1 gets to the point where he wants to migrate the minty fresh sharepoint site from dev to production.
He creates a template with content.
He copies it over to the production system. When he attempts to use it, he gets an error saying that Feature '{gobblidy gook}' is not found.
We look at features turned on, and the out of the box features are the same.
HOWEVER, the dev system has quite a number of dev instances of the InfoPath apps as they have gone through the "code, test, fix" cycle.
It appears to me that the issue is that the template is listing every one of those InfoPath forms as a requirement.
There's no way that I am interested in broken or incomplete InfoPath features being installed into production.
It appears to me that the user is stuck recreating the dev site on production.
That seems terribly inefficient to me. The entire template concept is pretty screwed up if templates uploaded to one site collection become required in another.
I presume that one or more of us - user 1, developer 2, or myself - is missing some critical bit of information that would make these things work.
Or is this really the kind of limitation by which others using InfoPath are hindered?Where can I find those best practices?
Before we started using SharePoint, we always had at least dev, qa, and production machines where things being developed would start out and migrate through.
I suspect there would be a lot of resistance to giving all users their own VMs as well as their own SharePoint farms to work under, and I expect that attempting to move InfoPath apps from an individual's environment would have the exact same problem as we
are encountering - a developer wants to iterate through a series of unit testing before they consider an application (ie InfoPath form) stable enough to undergo testing by a group of stakeholders. Thus things created on the dev machine will have dependencies
on "features" (aka the individual test versions of the InfoPath form) that would not be installed on the stakeholder's test machine, and the last stable version on the test machine would have dependencies on versions that would not be promoted to
production.
developing on production has the issue of having to work in parallel with the previous stable version of the application, without causing the users of the stable version issues. -
Hey team,
We've been given an opportunity to take over the administration of an existing site but want to know what steps we need to take to succesfully migrate the php site over to BC.
It's a very basic site but it does have one form page.
Thanks
PaulA bit more info on sucking in PHP sites and replicating them in BC.
I have done a couple of php sites myself, and I find that they have a weird structure with each page in its own folder. I don't think that could be good for SEO somehow.
Overall the sites replication from PHP to BC have gone well. On one of them, I tried to rename the css file and it fell over. If I kept the CSS file the same name (which was just a bunch of numbers) it worked. Why I don't know.
As I said before mapping the sucked down site in DW and editing there is the go, as it is so clever about updating everything when you move it around.
I always keep a full copy of the original download in case I go too far with moving things around. Then I play with another full copy in DW.
Don't forget that DW tells a few little lies about how things are displaying, so upload to the BC test site regularly to check if you really have a problem with anything.
BC used to have a site replication and suck in tool that was a lot like HTTrack. I sucked down a site using the DW site replicator and also HTTrack and they pretty much did the same thing. Now that BC site replicate functionality is no longer available, so HTTrack is the go.
As far as database etc goes, you will be using BC CRM so you could get data out and upload as I said.
Good luck! -
Migrating existing site content to UCM
We looking for any tools, APIs that help in migrating the existing content of web sites to UCM. The site content is structured and needs to mapped to WCM content in UCM. The site has static as well as dynamic content.
For dynamic content we are assuming a DB is used. But not sure if the entire functional information shown for a page is coming from the DB. Want to understand if any tools are available to make migration of content from a DB to UCM.
For static pages we have to extract the content and move it to UCM. Here also it is not clear as to how many static pages are there. Our concern is that if too many static pages (having a similar template) are there then manual migration may not work out. We may have to parse the html content and create structured WCM content out of them. Our doubt is do we have any API to create WCM content programatically?
Regards,
PratapHi Pratap,
we here at Fishbowl have developed just such a site migrator. It takes existing sites and will import and build them into a new WCM (10gR4) site.
Our site migrator focuses on the body content of the sites (i.e. what end users will be editing in context). You still need to build out your navigation structure etc. However, we do parse the contents of your existing sites into specific region definitions of the new WCM.
contact [email protected] for more info.
Warmly,

"User cannot be found '' error after migration of site from sp2010 to sp2013
Hi,
There is a Blogs site, which has been migrated from Sp2010 to Sp2013, and gives ''User cannot be found'' error above the top ribbon:
Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: User cannot be found
Please advise
sk.RakhishmaThis is common when a user has left a company and is still listed as an owner of the document. When the document is moved to the new environment, it has no record of the old user.
Did you migrate using a migration tool or database attach? Migration tools usually have an option to handle orphaned users allowing you to map them back to the system account.

Migrate SP2010 site collection to SP2013 site collection with a new URL - How ?
How to migrate Classic SP2010 site collection (http://OldWebApp.SP2010.com/sites/OldSiteCollection) to Claims SP2013 site collection: (http://NewWebApp.SP2013.com/projects/NewSiteCollection) ?
No custom solutions involved, But, The URLs must be different.
How to accomplish that ?Following are the steps:
Take the backup of the content database in SP 2010.
Create a classic based web application in SP 2013 using PowerShell.
New-SPWebApplication -Name "TestApplication" -ApplicationPool "TestApplicationAppPool" -AuthenticationMethod "NTLM" -ApplicationPoolAc
Create a content database in the web application created above.
Mount the database
Mount-SPContentDatabase WSS_Content_100 -DatabaseServer SQL2012Demo -WebApplication http://sp2013demo:100
Now convert the web application to use claims authentication:
Convert-SPWebApplication -Identity "http://sp2013demo:100" -To Claims –RetainPermissions -Force
Finally, migrate the users to use claims identity:
$w = Get-SPWebApplication "http://sp2013demo:100"
$w.MigrateUsers($True)

QM Configuration settings to migrate to a new plant
Dear all,
In a project where I'm working we are closing one company code and moving everything to a new company code.
All the organizational estructure will be copy, but as I'm new to QM (just need to make a cost and effort estimate), I'm wondering which customizing settings I will need to look at when checking all the activities.
Could you kindly help me with a list of topics to cover where I could look at? - I have already checked SAP SD best practise, but I understand that several points in there will be complete when copying plant...
Thanks a lot for your help,Hi Mariete,

Need help with sed to fix migrated web site links (part II)
I thought I had this fixed, but I didn't, so starting over:
I'm moving my web files from one host to another, and have backed up my directory called WEB into my user downloads folder. The site is dead simple, mostly links within the site, pages primarily text with some links to my photos posted on flickr, and a few outside links. I want to avoid opening/replacing/saving a hundred or more files to fix the links from "http://www.old_domain_name/user/my_username" to "http://my_new_domain_name"
A friend suggested the following scripts to do this
mkdir fix_urls
cd fix_urls
cp -r <wherever>/WEB .
cd WEB
xargs -0 egrep -i old_domain_name $(find * -name "*.html" -print0) > ../to_fix
cd ..
less to_fix
to see what needs changing, but after I've created and moved to WEB, the xargs command results in a zero kb file called to_fix appearing in WEB, and nothing else happens....and the prompt in terminal (myusername$) doesn't reappear.
I tried his part II anyway:
mkdir new_web
while read filename; do
sed 's/\/www.old_domain_name/user/my_username/\/my_new_domain_name/' < WEB/$filename > new_web/$filename
done
diff -r WEB new_web > what_i_did
less what_i_did
and after the 'done', I get again....nothing. No new cursor gray rectangle, no new prompt, haven't even gotten to the last bit of diff to review the changes.
Any tips on what fundamental bone-headed thing I'm doing wrong?
and I got this helpful answer which seemed to have solved it, but didn't entirely:
This solved my question by X423424X on Jul 1, 2012 1:23 AM
I want to avoid opening/replacing/saving a hundred or more files to fix the links from "http://www.old_domain_name/user/my_username" to "http://my_new_domain_name"
If that's all you want to do then here's the pertinent sed command to do it:
sed -e 's,www.old_domain_name/user/my_username,my_new_domain_name,'
Syntax is a bit simpler when you don't use slashes as the sed substitute delimiters. You can use anything. Here I used commas.
I got excited too quickly after the first file I clicked looked correct--the first file in the subdirectory.
I see no indication in terminal that the process is going or ending--no sense of when I can close terminal and move on.
Checking the directory in finder shows no updates to 'date modified' for any of the files.
So how do I know if it is in progress, or done working, aside from opening random files to see if they're 'done'?
I've got three subfolders inside one folder (my WEB folder), and it looks like only the first file of the first subdirectory got repaired. Here is a bash script to interate through all files in a folder of a given extension.
#!/bin/bash
# be sure to use Unix lineends -- linefeed \n
# Use TextWrangle for editing. It's free.
# or nano in the terminal
# to make this file -- listFile.bash runable do:
# chmod u+x listFile.bash
# debug info
export PS4='+(${BASH_SOURCE}:${LINENO}):'
# remove the leading # in the line below to show debug info
# set -o xtrace
# first comes the directory/folder you want to search
# -name do a case independent search for all file ending
# with the extension .txt

I'm having trouble moving my iWeb site from my old MacBook to my new MacBook Pro.
On my old Macbook, I have iWeb 08 (version 2). On my new MacBook Pro, I have iWeb 09 (version 3). I've already moved (from my old computer) my iWeb project (Library > Application Support > iWeb) to the same folder on my new computer. When I launch iWeb on my new computer, the site loads fine, but it looks like I need to re-publish it. However, it's taking forever and it hasn't finished yet. Is there another step I need to do? Is it not as simple as simply moving the iWeb folder contents?
Thanks!
BThat's way too long. Stop the process and try the following:
1 - go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
2 - login with a bogus username and password like "test" and "test". This clears the caches.
3 - login with your correct username and password.
4 - launch iWeb and try again.
Next, try:
1 - close iWeb.
2 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
3 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
4 - reboot.
5 - launch iWeb and see if there's any improvement.
Lastly try Koeklin's fix from his post in this topic: Topic : can't open a domain.sites.2
