Is there a PlayNext video control?

I'm using the FLVPlayback component and would like to set up a control to play the next movie. I've looked under the media component list and couldn't find one. Is this at all possible?

Thank you, but I need a control button that will sit under the movie--something like the FastForward control, except it would bring up the next movie. Is there such a control?
I have 4 buttons, each calling up a different movie to the FLVPlayer. Here's what's on the buttons:

Capture Error- Operation could not be completed as there is no video.

Hi. I'm using Final Cut Express HD 3.5.1 and I seem to have a problem importing video. I successfully imported one DV tape (out of several for a film project I'm working on) using the DV-NTSC Easy Setup.
I use a Canon Optura 40 camera connected via a Fire Wire 400 cable. The cord runs straight from the camera (where it has a 4-pin connector) to the computer. As a longtime iMovie user I followed all the proper procedures - the camera is in VTR mode the tape is ready to go.
Now, Device Control says "VTR" OK and the playback controls in the program actually control the tape. Everything seems right so far. But when I click "Capture Now" in FCEHD it says, "This operation could not be completed as there is no video." What's more is that FCE freezes up (processing cursor) until I take the camera out of VTR mode.
Apple reccomends using the Fire Wire Basic Easy Setup. I've tried that. It still doesn't work.
Another curios note - iMovie seems to have the same problem, which I've never encountered until I've tried to use the camera with this computer - I'm running on a recently purchased MacBook Pro (2.33 GHz, 2 GB RAM) off of an external hard drive (G-Drive 7200 RPM 500 GB).
I am stumped.
Can anyone lend a hand?

So, I tried sending the camera into the FireWire 400 Port on the back of my external HD and I still got the same problem in FCE.
Here's what's really interesting - it will import into iMovie with the new setup.
Whenever my camera is in VTR mode and the Capture Screen is even just OPEN in FCE, the computer freezes until I take the camera out of VTR mode.
I'm really stumped. If I would have to install new components inside of my laptop I might just vie for loading the footage into iMovie and transferring it (if there's no loss of quality. Is there?) but I'm still hopeful for a simple solution to getting FCE to recognize the camera.
I can't really load the footage into my Mac's HD because it's not big enough. I have a video project with about 12 DV tapes of footage, and my internal HD definetely couldn't hold that.

Hi. I've been logging and capturing without incident for weeks now, from my JVC BR-DV3000 deck to final cut 5. Device control still works fine, so i know final cut is recognizing the deck, but all of a sudden when I set it to capture i get an error message that reads: "the operation could not be completed as there is no video". I checked all my connections and settings, refreshed external viewing options, and turned everything off and on again. And I just went back to see if it was the same for tapes I have already captured successfully in the past, and i get the same error message, so I know it's not the tape.
Has anyone ever gotten this message in his or her log & capture window? Thanks...

I get it when capturing from my mini DV cam (which is not controllable by FCP). To resolve, I have to click Capture Now a split second after I start the DV tape rolling.

Ok, I tried all the suggestions I've seen here. I have a Sony FX-1000 and I'm trying to capture a PAL mini-DV tape (which is easily read and played on this camcorder) using Final Cut Pro - latest version. The connection is iLink / Firewire 800 and has been used to capture many NTSC videos in the past. I have tried all settings on Final Cut Pro - under Capture Settings - to no avail.
In all cases, "Preview Disabled" is displayed in the color-bar window. However, the playback controls (rewind, play, ff) all work fine using the buttons under the window. The miniDV plays fine on the camcorder - both picture and sound.
After starting the playback, and pressing "Capture Now", I get a solid black window indicating that the capture software is "waiting for timecode", even with the tape obviously playing. After about 2-5 seconds, I receive the error message "This operation could not be completed as there is no video".
I've tried several computers, several cables (both Firewire 400 and 800) - as well as all the PAL settings and FC Pro and FC Express 4.0. So, any suggestions? I could use some help.

Solved the problem. I used an old Sony Handycam DCR-HC28 with Firewire connection and used Final Cut Express with the settings: PAL, DV-PAL DV Converter in Easy Setup.
I was NOT able to control the Handycam with this setting but I could start the capture and then press "play" on the Handycam and it captured. Strange way to solve the problem. Hope this helps someone.
BTW - the HDV FX-1000 did not work this way. I guess the cheap camcorder works better at this!

Is there any way to control the volume on my Apple TV?

Here's the scenario: I have a small amplifier under my couch that controls the speakers connected to my Apple TV. When I use Airplay from my iPhone to listen to music, I'm able to control the volume right from the music App on my phone- this is perfect because I don't like to reach under the couch to change the volume. However, there are two scenarios when I cannot seem to adjust the volume anywhere except on the amp. These are:
First: Using Airplay while playing a video from my MacBook Pro to the Apple TV. In this case, the volume slider in iTunes suddenly has a little lock icon on it and is unadjustable. Is there any way to unlock the volume?
Second: When using the Apple TV directly to play any media- music or movies. The volume up and down buttons on the Apple TV don't control the volume. I'm forced to reach under the couch to adjust the volume- which happens quite frequently. Is there any way to control the output volume of the Apple TV?
The lack of volume control has been super disappointing. I've been a (multiple) airport express user for years so kind of expected Airplay to work the same for video- with the ability to control the volume from whatever device was transmitting. Can anyone help me?

Andrew- this is how I would expect things to work. However, when I use airplay from my iPhone to say, play a youtube video, the volume on the phone is suddenly rendered useless and I'm forced to adjust the amplifier. When I just play audio from the phone, the volume works.
It's the same on my macbook pro. If I mirror the screen, my computer's volume affects the speakers volume. However, if I am in itunes and play a movie and use airplay for that, I get a lock on the volume. Is this a setting somewhere?

OS 10.3.9 and QT Pro 7 = no video controls

I went against my normal behavior and obeyed when the computer said to upgrade from QuicktimePro 6 to Quicktime 7.0. Then discovered I had to pay another $30 to make it be the Pro version But no video controls are there - apparently I must first buy various upgrades, like a new computer, it sounds like from the forums. Video controls are why I originally bought Quicktime Pro. I could have gone back to v.6 from 7.0, but not if I'm as high as 7.1.3 (I am). At first I thought I could go back to 6 Pro and use the Pro 7 license for the husband's WindowsXP upstairs. You can't even use the license key in Windows, though.
I think this is outrageous. Does Apple know how angry people get when they feel tricked? Most people don't have money to keep buying lots of computer stuff. Or want to be eternally tinkering.
Is there a (preferably free) program that will brighten a .mov, .mpeg-2, .mp4...or adjust contrast? I couldn't make mpeg streamclip do it yesterday. Oh, I did try exporting .mov to .mov to make those adjustments, and the result was a bad degradation.

I didn't miss having Quicktime 7 for 2 years untill I encountered a video that wouldn't play without it, as I recall. I was making a lot of videos and wanted to try new features, as well.
Yes - I thought I would register with the same registration number I had before. Why worry if Installation says older Pro versions won't work - wouldn't the new one be all that and better?
The info page http://www.apple.com/quicktime/player/mac.html says you'll have the a/v extra features if you have Tiger and a graphics card. I thought the other way to have the features would be to get the Pro version, like it worked for Quicktime 6. Bad assumption. Do the auto-updates with checkboxes that suddenly appear on our screens even send us to that info page?
For simpletons (we are legion) they could say for instance "your computer may not have enough power for the free Quicktime 7 a/v features or smooth streaming video (apparently) etc, even if you're running Tiger"......Quicktime 7 is simply labeled, in Versiontracker for instance, as designed for system 10.3.9 and up.
I didn't mind paying the $30 for QT7Pro version, but was surprised that I ended up with less useful everyday features than I'd had. I felt tricked, but I don't read slowly and carefully enough, and I know Apple wasn't trying to trick me, just push me toward their store.

Can you put Video Controls on an .flv video?

I have an .flv file in my .fla file. However, when I play the movie, it simply plays the movie along the timeline. Is there a way to put video controls on this file? Or do I need to use the videoPlayback option?
If I do need to use the videoPlayback option, how do I make sure that the video always work, even if I move it to a different computer (because the references to the movie will change)?

I guess I mean that when I specify the path to my flv file and I export the swf file, the swf won't play the flv video if I move the swf file to another computer. Does that make sense?

I've read several threads from different sites concerning the video controls on published projects out of Captivate 4. I am also having the problem of not being able to FF/RW from the video controls once the project is published. Has there been a solution?

Dreamweaver...BUT...when I play the video locally or on the

Keynote 6.2.2: No video controls

I don't have any video controls. I have "Show playback controls when pointer is over a movie" checked but it doesn't do anything in preview or in play mode.
There is a go button which toggles on and off which is visible when the video is selected and that's it. It makes it difficult to trim the clip with no way to see the time with sound on. If it just tracked in the Format - Movie dialogue it would be helpful.

The movie must be playing and the mouse moved across the video before the playback control will be seen.
It makes it difficult to trim the clip with no way to see the time with sound on.
To trim a clip, select the clip on the slide: Inspector > Document > Movie > Edit Movie, then adjust the trim in and out points using the slider. The in and out points in the video are seen on the slide.

Removing video controls in iBooks Author

Is there a way that I can have it so when you a play a video in my iBook (that doesn't go full screen) the video controls don't show?

KT, have you been able to get animated GIFs to work?
if so what program do you use. the ones I tried from Photoshop didn't work, maybey wrong setting.
While GIF media files may not be directly supported by IBA nor can you embed them directly in an IBA widget, they are supported by most HTML environments and an HTML widget containing an external URL reference will play within your book. Of course, this requires access to the internet and would probably only be worth the effort in situations where use of this already generated GIF file is more efficient than creating an HTML 5 animated version of the same content.

Adjust Y pos of Flash video control strip (skin)

I am in need to move the video control strip upwards so it clears my caption in the video shown below.
The skin is a swf, and normally if I import a swf to to another fla as an outside source I can adjust xpos and ypos with action script.
I am using AS2 and would think this can be controlled in the flv playback component. But I can not find out how.
Can you help?

I have tried to add:
layout_mc.ypos = -100;   and layout_mc._y = -100;
to my ClearOverPlaySeekMute_GG_1.fla
Did not work.
Also tried inside Fla with the flv playback component to add
_y=-100
That moved the whole component up.
Then I tried to address the swf from there:
layout_mc._y = -100;
Did not work.
Then I tried to address the swf from there:
ClearOverPlaySeekMute_GG_1.swf._y = -100;
Also did not work.
What is it that decides the default position of the componet?
I am out of ideas.

FLV video controls lock up

Hi there. I'm creating a website in Flash CS3. The FLV video
in the center of the page utilizes one of the stock video control
panels in the video encoding process
(SkinUnderPlayStopSeekMuteVol.swf) . Upon testing the movie, both
in Flash and uploaded on my server, the controls work fine for
about 10 seconds then seize up and stop being functional. The page
is simple as can be. 1 frame long, a couple pieces of text, a
static background and the FLV in the middle. Any ideas on why the
control panel freezes up?

Have you tested on more than one machine? Perhaps you could
post a url and we can see if it's a machine issue? I've never had
an flv cause a lockup, I'd be interested in seeing this.

how do you make the video controls disappear in presentation mode in keynote 2013?

I gotta say that while I appreciate Keynote's ability to handle large file sizes and embed media, I baulk at a single file of 4GB.
Having discovered my file has blown out to that size, I would likely choose a spot to split the file and do my best to seamlessly move from one stack to the next. We will have to wait for the engineering team to return hyperlinking between stacks which was removed in Keynote 6, so as to make the transition between stacks much easier and semi-automatic.
My fear with a file size this big is a crash, and then waiting for it to load in when Keynote restarts. I'm guessing you're doing lots of "can I break this file" testing before unleashing it on your audience.
I always wondered when Apple did its 500 slide keynotes at Macworld or WWDC if it swapped stacks during the live demos. No doubt there are multiple redundancies built into their "just has to work" presentations, but still, we've seen these things fall over when Steve J. was doing the keynotes. Remember when he told the story of Woz controlling TV sets with a remote, while Jobs waited for his presentation to be restored? Was it 2008?

Flash video in Full Screen, missing video controls

In the latest version of firefox 17, when i switch flash videos to full screen, the video doesnt show the video controls, which allow you to play/ pause the video or see how much time of the video has gone. It is there when i press back and return to the minimized version.. but for some videos when you minimize after full screen the video starts showing several colours instead of the video.

Update, This issue is still happening in the latest version of Firefox for android. Please check it up.
