Is there a way to import my movies on dvds to macbook pro then sync onto to Ipad2
Is there a way to import my dvd movies onto my Macbood Pro and then sync to my IPad2 so that the movies go on that device?
Sorry, but if you're referring to commercial and hence copy-protected DVDs, breaking the copy protection, which would be necessary to copy the videos from the DVD and convert them, is illegal in the US (and other countries), so we're not allowed to discuss it here.
If these are home movies that you or someone has burned to DVD and hence are not copy-protected, Handbrake (freeware) is one of the more popular converters. Once converted, you just drag the movie into the iTunes window on your computer and you can then sync it to your iPad.
Regards.

my computer keyboard has a bad "M" key so I cannot login into my computer from boot is there a way to bypass the login to reset my macbook pro
Late reply, but if anyone is experiencing the same problem, I've found a solution. For whatever reason, some macbooks don't recognize usb flash drives during the boot-up phase, even though the usb ports themselves are powered (I tested this with a multimeter). The solution then, was to use an external USB hard drive that has its own power supply to install Snow Leopard. I don't know why, but it's the only way I got my macbook (Macbook 2,1/A1181) to recognize the install drive. Every was smooth sailing from there!

Is there no way to import new movie content other than direct from camera?
I just imported all my new footage into iphoto then deleted the lot from the camera sd card. Then i went to imovie thinking i could import from iphoto turns out i can't. So is there any way to get my new photos , which are on my computer, into imovie. Because at the moment i'm fiddling around with my time machine trying to go back in time before i deleted the new material. Please help.
How are you trying to "import" in iMovie ?
In iMovie you need to click on the camera icon (in the "middle" bar at the right. You will then see your iPhoto library and the photo's. If you wan t to use the photo's you can click one or multiple photo's/folder or event and drag that in your project (not the events)

Is there any way to import multiple video files into a Logic Pro X project ?
Hi All,
Im working on score for a movie, I have multiple video clips that I need to make score for. Im wondering if there is a way to import all the video clips in to a single LPX project.
Thanks.
AraNo, Logic allows only one video file per Project.
You have to edit them together in iMovie or Final Cut Pro first.
However, the common workflow in film scoring is one Project per cue, so if there are no overlapping music cues between the videos, it shouldn't be a problem
Hope that helps

Is there a way to get an imovie project from your macbook pro onto your ipod touch?
I want to put a movie i made on my camera roll or get it onto my itouch. Is there a way to do that without spending alot of money.
Thanks for a cognative answer TXMark.
For what its worth to any readers that work in education and would like this play once and stop 'feature'
I had great success in homeshareing a iTunes library of teaching material and creating topic specific playlist and used apple remote app to control an appletv connected to that homeshared library. As TXMark suggests, uncheck the songs in iTunes and the media will not automatically play the tracks in sequence.
note: if you have video media that you would like to have in the playlist, be sure its listed as a music video in the options of get info of track. otherwise the apple tv will not see the media in the playlist and will put it in the movies section of the library. -

I recently purchased a Seagate Goflex Desk 2TB and I've already used Time Machine to backup my iMac running 10.5.8 to the drive. Is there a way to backup my Macbook Pro running 10.6.8 to the drive using Time Machine while the drive is still connected to my iMac? Any help is appreciated!
Choose Connect to Server from the Finder's Go menu, provide the first computer's IP address, log in, and set it up in the Time Machine pane of System Preferences.

Is there a way of recording component video output to a MacBook Pro
I have a Sony DXC990P video camera head i.e. it has no recorder. It has several output of which component video is regarded as the highest quality. Is there a way recording this output with a MacBook Pro?
T5G5The matrox MXO2 is likely what you are referring to. It would be an extremely useful i/o device for you if the price is acceptable. It will have good resale value for a few years too if you ever wanted to get rid of it. With your camera's chip set and resolution of 850 lines you can capture via component to 4:2:2 color space by editing in a codec like DVCPRO 50 which is very efficient and looks great too. It is a big step above anything dv related which is 4:1:1 color space. If you ever drop your video signal down to dv quality you will take a big hit picture quality wise. Another device is the original AJA IO which connects via firewire and gives you component i/o as well as s-video, composite and digital component as well. The AJA IO's are selling on ebay for $600.00 - $750.00. They were around $2500.00 originally. You could also use an AJA LA which is basically the analog side of the IO and they are a little cheaper. Blackmagic multibridge is another product that is similar. These are all pro level equipment. You will need FCP.

I need to take my MacBook Pro to school, but I do not want anyone to see my iTunes library on it. Is there any way to log out, or even hide iTunes, so no once can see my music?
Perhaps if you describe what you're going to be doing in more detail we can offer other solutions. But, really, beyond not using iTunes where people can see it or not letting others use your MBP there isn't really a way to "hide" the content in iTunes.

Is there a way I can get send iMessages from my Macbook Pro?
I just got My first Macbook Pro and am still trying to figure out how to use it. I have seen that m friend can send and recieve his text messages on his Macbook Pro and I cant figure out how to get that. When I tried using messages it send it from my email not my phone number.
First you need to determine what laptop model you have; then we can help you. A Mac Book Pro cannot run OS 9.1.
With your Mac booted up, click on the at the far left of the menu. Then click on About This Mac. It will show what version of OS you are running. What is the version?
A MBP will be running something like version 10.x.
If you are running version OS 9.x, you don't have a Mac Book Pro.
Cheers, Tom -
This happens only in Firefox w/o addons; under Mac OS X 10.6.7
To specify the issue: A high-frequency noise can be heard coming from the left upper side of the Macbook (from beneath the 1 key). It can only be heard when scrolling and opening new tabs in firefox and is not influenced by the volume level and muting.

Is there a way to import movies to iTunes?
Is there a way to import movies that I already own to iTunes?
Sorry, but if you're referring to a commercial DVD, those are copy-protected. Breaking the copy protection is illegal in the US, so discussing ways of doing it are not allowed here (since the US courts have been holding in some cases that even discussing in print such cracking may be illegal).

Is there a way to import commercially purchased DVD Movie to my iPod?
Is there a way to import commercially purchased DVD Movie to my iPod?
I tried the "Import" function and that didn't work. Is there a function to convert and import or is there a program that might accomplish this?
Thanks in advance.
Chuck ManettaI would argue that transferring the movie to another medium for *your own personal use* is covered under "fair use", but of course I am not a lawyer. The law that you may be breaking would be the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Read up:
http://w2.eff.org/IP/DRM/fairuse_anddrm.html
In any case, we still can't tell you how to do it on these forums. -
