I have a secondary PC that I listen to my music on but it has limited hard drive space. It has plenty of room for more songs but whenever I try to transfer purchases, it tries to download TV Shows and Movies first which take up all of my room. I would like to be able to only transfer the music purchases to this computer.

Temporarily delete the videos from your iPod and transfer music purchases.
Then go back to the original PC and put the videos back on the iPod.

You can only transfer music purchased from the iTunes store to your computer, and this is done using itunes (File>Devices>Transfer Purchases). If the music you want to tranfer is associated with an app, unless the app specifically can share files with iTunes or sync them with iCloud, the music would only be stored as app data in your backup. If it is stored in the backup, you would have to restore the entire backup to your other device in order to transfer the music. If it shared with iTunes you may be able to save it to your computer from within iTunes. If it is synced with iCloud, you could access it using the same app on your other device by signing into the same iCloud account.
Since there are clearly a variety of ways that it could be transferred depending on the app, you should contact the app developer to ask how this is done with their app.

Is there a way to only catalog backup set not in the catalog? "CATALOG START WITH" generates double entry.

The DB version is 11.1.0.7.
The "CATALOG START WITH" not only catalog backup set that are not in the RMAN catalog, but also catalog a second copy for files that are already in the catalog.
Files are not a second copy; they are the same file in the same directory.
Having two copies in the catalog, through an error when deleting explicitly the backups.
We have to add the force clause to avoid the error.
RMAN> delete FORCE backup tag 'offsite-1';
The force clause ignores any I/O error.
The delete is part of our scheduled offsite backup script, which returns a false positive error when the force clause is ommited.
I don't want the force clause, in order to be notify if the backup set that are expected to be on disk are no more there, e.g., if someone had deleted files manually at the OS level bypassing rman.

At line 36 you answered "No" to "Do you really want to catalog the above files (enter YES or NO)?".
Just repeate your demo and answer Yes.
Even if he might have replied with "YES" then also, the RMAN search for the files which it can recognize as a valid rman backup file. Else it would show the list of files which are not recognized by RMAN as a valid file.

About the RMAN catalog, it will not catalog the same file twice. It will only catalog the files which are not known to the database.

Is there any way to just transfer music from just 1 of the ipods off of your library when you get a replacement

we have 4 ipods that share 1 library. they each have different choices from the main library. now 1 ipod is being replaced by a new ipod. is ther a way of transferring just the music from the old ipod to the new ipod without doing it manually (dragging each song) ?

Three songs have automatically transferred into Windows Media Player but no other songs or albums have, and I can't find any way to transfer files manually. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Of course iTunes will not sync to a flash drive, it only syncs to iDevices.
Right click on the file and select "Show in Windows Explorer" or "Show file location" whatever the wording it.
Then drag the file from there to the flash drive, might even be possible to drag directly from iTunes.
There is no syncing... simply copy the files.

Is there any way to have a music track not snap to the start point of the movie? Using new version on iOS.

On iMovie for the Mac it's possibly to have a music track start at any point in a project I like. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get music on the iOS version to do anything other than snap to the beginning of the project. Any help would be greatfully received.
I've tried it it using the latest version of iMovie for iOS.

If it is a background audio track (green), then select it, tap ... in the inspector and choose 'Move to Foreground" Now you can put it wherever you like.

By design, the iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. Any attempt to sync such content with a second computer will result in ALL itunes content being first erased from your phone & then replaced with the content from the second computer. This is a design feature and cannot be overridden. Because you are using a new computer, your phone will see this computer as a "new" computer. The itunes content sync is one way: computer to phone. If you have photos that were synced to your phone or music ripped on your own that were not backed up, you will first have to extract them from your phone using third party software, before you do anything else, as Apple makes no provision to do so:

Once you've done that, do the following in the order specified:
1. Disable auto sync when an iPod/iPhone is connected under iTunes>Preferences(under the edit menu if using Windows)>Devices in itunes.
2. Make sure you have one contact & one event in the supported applications(Address Book & iCal or Outlook, Windows Address Book) on your computer. These entries can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is that these programs not be empty.
3. Connect your phone, iTunes running, DO NOT SYNC at this point.
4. Store>Authorize this computer.
5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on your phone will be in your itunes library).
6. Right click in the device pane & select reset warnings.
7. Right click again and select backup.
8. Right click again & select restore from backup, select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your itunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select merge.
You should be good to go.

My Ipod touch is set to manually manage music. I have put music from my computer and iTunes account onto it, and music from other people's computer and iTunes accounts on it. Unfortunately I dropped my iPod and the screen cracked. It still plays music and everything just fine, but it has problems with it's battery life so I'd like to just get a completely new iPod nano. Is there any way I can transfer all the music from my iPod touch onto a new iPod nano? From what I can tell it won't let me sync any of the music on my iPod touch that is from other people's computers onto my laptop, and so I wouldn't be able to put it on a new iPod nano. There are different ways to transfer your data from another Mac, but as you just want to transfer pictures and music, the best way is to use an external drive. You can also connect them with a Thunderbolt or FireWire cable, but you need specific Macs to do it, so I prefer the external drive method.
You just have to get an external drive and plug it to the old Mac. Then, open Finder, navigate to the folders with your pictures and music, and drag them to the external drive in the Finder sidebar, under "Devices".
Then, connect the external drive to the new Mac and you will see the external drive in the Finder sidebar after opening a Finder window, so choose it. Then, just copy the pictures and music to the folder you want, for example, Music or Pictures
