Is there any way to use the system font?

Firefox for Android uses a font that is not the default Android system font (Roboto), and I would much prefer to use that font. Is there any way to change the font Firefox for Android uses?

in about:config search for font.name and alter the values such that Clear Sans is listed after Roboto/Droid.

Is there any way to use the bundled PHP compiler without web sharing on?

Is there any way to use the bundled PHP compiler without Web Sharing on? Is there a way to make sure Web Sharing only allows local access so others on the network cannot access it? Any other easy way to get a PHP compiler on a Mac? I currently run Mac OS X 10.7.4. Any other security issues that might pop up from leaving Web Sharing on? Basically I just want a local PHP compiler so I can do some coding.

You can use another router as an 'extender' (I know that this will work seemlessly with AirPort Extemes and AirPort Express's - you'll have to check with your router manufacturer to determine what they recommend for range extenders).

I can change it for one conversation, but then it resets to the default, tiny font.
The preferences menu only lets me change the conversation font.

Hi,
As you may remember there used to be a Messages pane to the Preferences where the Font and colour of the Balloons or background and the Font text colour could be changed.
And there was a Format Menu for character, word and Sentence changes in the current IM or iMessage.
Those have gone in Yosemite's version of Messages (Despite it retaining the designation of Messages 8 the same as Mavericks' version).
All that can be done now is set the size of the font and this has been moved to the General Section of the Preferences.
The Yosemite version has also been fixed to using the Balloons style of send and receiving any type of messages as well.
Changing the Font would involved editing the Balloon.transcript file.

Is there any way to customise the system generated packing slip?

Hi All,
My customer would like to be able to add a few field to the system generated packing slip. I can see where to update things on the invoice in system emails, but couldn't see anywhere for the packing slip?
Also there's a few random bits that get printed on the invoice that aren't part of the system invoice. Any idea how to remove? My client is printing from Chrome. See below:

We use a pretty standard Registration-buy form and have the phone line as:

But still doesn't show on the packing slip. I don't know what else to do.
I can get them all to show on the invoice but not the packing slip. The only thing I can think of is to give the factory the invoice - but then it's not set up well enough for them to mark off the checks when it's made and packed (we have special boxes on the packing slip for this) plus then they can see pricing which we try to avoid.

Is there any way to use the iTunes .itl file or .xml file to see what files I had previously to re-download songs?

I recently had to restore my computer and in the process of backing up my music library, half of my library from the letter 'm' onward was deleted.
I want to see if I could use the existing .itl file or .xml file that was automatically saved by iTunes in the iTunes folder previously (which I backed-up in my external drive) to view my past library.
I tried importing the library by going to File > Library > Import Playlist, but I got an error that said:
"Some of the songs in the "iTunes Music Library.xml" were not imported because they could not be found.
The .itl file was no help either in this case.

How did you try to make use of the .itl file? Double-clicking on .itl files doesn't switch libraries but opens whatever is currently the default library. To switch between library files either press and hold down shift as you launch iTunes until prompted to choose or create a library, or swap out one library file with another as described in Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.
There is also a link there to tips on recovering media from your device or account history. You may also be able to undelete media from the drive if the space it occupied has not yet been reused.

Is there any way to use the Yahoo! Bulk folder as the Mail "Junk" folder?

I've been helping a few people with Yahoo! accounts and they'd like to use the Yahoo! "Bulk Mail" folder as their "Junk" folder so they don't have to select the messages in their Bulk folder in order to delete them with Apple Mail.
Unfortunately, I haven't found a way; you can tell Mail to use the Yahoo! Bulk Mail folder for Junk all day, but it never "takes."

I have several Yahoo! accounts, as well, and have a similar issue. No solution for me.

If they do restore it in iTunes, that process is going to wipe all your content from it, so your information would be gone. Yes, they can then go on and use your device as theirs, but your information is wiped from it at that point.
For future reference, along with the passcode, you can set it to erase everything after 10 failed passcode attempts. As long as you have regularly sync'd content back to your computer and maintained an up to date backup, you have safeguarded your content for your own recovery and use.
And in iOS 7 an iCloud account and find my phone activation is worth it just for Activation Lock, even if you don't care about any other iCloud features (all of which you can simply disable and not use if you choose to).

I don't know the actual mechanics but I know that UStream is a popular streaming site for folks and organizatiuons to broadcast live video. So how hard could it be? You would have to investigate there what's involved.
One thing to keep in mind if you persue live streaming, and that's the bandwidth caps many (is all now?) isp's are imposing. For example comcrap and at&t have a 250GB limit. Not ever done streaming myself I wouldn't know if this imposes problems or not on top of any other daily stuff you might be doing, e,g, mail, browsing, downloading, etc.

Is there any way to use the Korg Kaossilator Pro with Garageband 6.0.5?

I'm getting pretty decent at working around with the newest version of Garageband. I've gotten my Akai MPK Mini (usb/midi keyboard) to work by adjusting a few preferences here and there, but for the last week I have been trying and trying to get my Korg Kaossilator Pro to hook up MIDI with Garageband. I understand if the program/software isn't as advanced as Logic or Ableton (be getting those soon!) If anybody could help me it would be MUCH appreciated
P.S. if anybody is having troubles with exporting the AIFF/WAV/MP3 audio files I could give you a bit of help. I have figured out how to correctly export the audio loops and sounds that I have made from my Kaossilator Pro into Garageband! It is quite simple actually and is ALOT easier than you would think. Following the tempo/pitch for your song w/ these WAV/AIFF files is really easy too! I have made almost 4 songs now just using samples and loops from my Kaossilator Pro. I just would like to know if anybody has found out how to use it MIDI w/ Garageband? It would REALLY help me out Thanks!

yeeeeah thats what i've been figuring out for the last 12 hours haha. kinda've a pain but hey it works out. u can still throw some pretty cool effects and what not. Even with MIDI cables running from my kaoss pro into my mac doesn't work. i can transfer the loops I make on my kaoss pro to the editor on my comp, then transfer those files to GB then go from there. It ***** there isn't a way to hook it in and sync it w/ GB so you can hit record then start jamming on the kaoss pro. Thanks for the response though!

I believe that the built-in dictation is only available on the new iPad, if you want to be able to use dictation on the iPad 2 then you'll need to see if there is a third-party app.

Actually prematurely wearing out the Superdrive that you need to reinstall or fix the computer (or burn backup disks and data) isn't a wise choice.
Cheap DVD's players are great for taking the load off expensive Superdrives, if you ever got a repair bill from Apple for a Superdrive you know what I mean, it's several hundred dollars to replace it.
Now what's a $99 DVD player in comparison? Use it up and toss it away, get a new one. By the time your done with 2 of them, DVD's will be obsolete. They are almost that way now.
In fact check out Netflix, with a high speed connection and $8 a month, you can watch all you want.
Also, all the electronics for Thunderbolt's speed is in the Thunderbolt cable itself at $50 a pop!!

Is there any way to use archived system?

Hi, i was using OS10.4.9, but Safari and the Help utility stopped working. So I was told to reinstall 10.4.0 using archive and install. However this didn't fix the problem--still no safari or help--so I'd like to go back to my archived system. Isn't this the purpose of an archive?
How can i do this and delete or archive the current 10.4.0 system?

The Archive and Install feature saves your settings, preferences and data, as well as third party apps that are in the Applications folder. However, it does not archive the OS itself. To be able to go back to the old OS, you will have had to backup/clone your entire HDD to an external Firewire HDD, then you would be able to clone it back.
If you are unable to get the wrinkles in your current installation ironed out you may need to backup, at least, your Users Folder, and then do a complete re-install. Before you do that, however, if you don't mind repeating it, what are the specific problems that are troubling, and what measures have you taken to remedy them up until now?
