  • Focus issue with CardLayout (Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition 1.4.0_01)

    I am having an issue with focus and CardLayout with Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition 1.4.0_01. I have created a small sample application to illustrate my problem. In general, I am trying to create a "Wizard" that the user will enter information and then press a "Next" button to proceed to the next step.
    When the first card is displayed, the focus is on the first text field as expected.
    When I go to the next card by clicking "Next", the focus is not on the text field that has requested it (through the requestFocusInWindow method). The focus is on the "Cancel" button, which is the next component to receive focus after the "Next" button on that panel. I do notice that if I use my mouse to bring focus to the window the text field will gain focus.
    Similarly, when I proceed to the last card, the focus is not on the "Finish" button until the mouse moves over the window.
    Is there something I am doing wrong or is there a bug with focus and CardLayout?
    One other problem I have noticed is that the buttons no longer respond to the "Enter" key press and instead respond to the space bar. Any suggestions as to why this is the case?
    Thanks,
    S.L.

    Manfred,
    Thanks for your reply. I tried requestFocus() and it gives the same results. Also Sun's 1.4.0 API (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/api/) mentions the following with respect to the requestFocus() method in the JComponent class:
    Because the focus behavior of this method is platform-dependent, developers are strongly encouraged to use requestFocusInWindow when possible.
    That is why I used requestFocusInWindow.

  • Issue Consuming a Java Web Service

    I've been doing research and on how to consume a Web Service from PL/SQL. The following is a chunk of the code. I can call the Web Service from other clients but not from my PL/SQL client. I keep getting this error
    ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: service: {http://10.93.38.134:7001/nmrwws/RewardsValidationService}RewardsValidationService does not contain port: {http://10.93.38.134:7001/nmrwws/RewardsValidationService}RewardsValidationPort
    What am I missing and can someone lead more to better info on using UTL_DBWS.

    I see this in the wsdl (all the way down).
    <port name="RewardsValidationPort" binding="tns:RewardsValidationPortBinding">Seems the port has its own namespace tns:? Which maps to: xmlns:tns="http://ws.nmrw.neimanmarcus.com/" (see at top of wsdl).
    You are using l_namespace in your to_qname call.
    l_port_qname := sys.UTL_DBWS.to_qname( l_namespace
    , 'RewardsValidationPort'
    );And l_namespace was set to:
    l_namespace := 'http://10.93.38.134:7001/nmrwws/RewardsValidationService';Maybe that is the issue?

  • Issues while configuring java application using JDO with MS JDBC Driver 1.0

    We are in the process of configuring our java application with the production version of SQL Server 2005 Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) Driver 1.0. We are facing issues getting it to work with Sun App Server using JDO concept.
    After creating the data store, adding the JDBC driver to the application server classpath through console and also copying the driver into the lib directory, we are still getting the below error.
    Following is the stack trace encountered while running the application

    Can anyone help me on this issue?
    Regards,
    Bindu

    I have already tried this before and this not work too, but strange that even if I use JDBC:ODBC bridge driver, the return value for output parameters are not correct, that is, only return the value that I input but not the value after executed in the procedure....
    The code that I used with JDBC:ODBC bridge is as follow:
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    String url = "jdbc:odbc:;DRIVER=SQL Server;Persist Security Info=False;database=db;Server=sql;uid=sa;pwd=pwd";
              Connection con;
              ResultSet rs = null;
    CallableStatement callS = null;
              try {
                   Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
              } catch(java.lang.ClassNotFoundException e) {
                   System.err.print("ClassNotFoundException: ");
                   System.err.println(e.getMessage());
              try {
                   con=DriverManager.getConnection(url);
    callS = con.prepareCall("{ call dbo.CpJavaTest (?)}");
    callS.registerOutParameter(1, Types.INTEGER);
    callS.execute();
    rs=callS.getResultSet();
    int ret = callS.getInt(1);
    System.out.println("return value : " + ret);
                   while (rs.next()) {
                        String f1 = rs.getString(4);
                        String f2 = rs.getString(5);
                        System.out.println(f1 + " " + f2);
              } catch(SQLException ex) {
                   System.out.println("SQLException: " + ex.getMessage());
    The value of the output parameter is same as what I inputed! Hope any one can teach me how to correct it...
    Thank you very much!

One of the devs told me to post my issue here, as he doesn't know how much more help he can give with this issue. Using the java -jar command, this is the printout I get:

    [Bug ID 4711700|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4711700] is eerily similar to what you're experiencing. Although the bug was reported against an older version of the JDK the last comment provides a workaround to the problem that may be helpful. Good luck.

  • Issue with EWS Java 1.2 license ambiguity

    If this isn't the proper place for this thread, then please let me know where it should go.
    I noticed that EWS Java 1.2 has been marked with an Apache 2.0 license. Let me just say this...
    FINALLY!
    If ever there was a project that needed it, it's EWS Java. That API has seemingly turned into abandonware and the old license forbade redistribution of modified source, so the many bugs in it had to be independently fixed by devs around the world. Not fun.
    With a proper open source license, this problem can be alleviated.
    HOWEVER...
    After downloading the zip file from the new EWS Java page, I've found that while the Apache 2.0 license is present in the root directory, the earlier and more restrictive license is still present in the project directory. This introduces ambiguity into the
    license terms. Not good. I would not be comfortable redistributing modified (or even original) source code with this kind of ambiguity, even if it's just an oversight on Microsoft's part. Please remove the old license entirely from the API.
    Also, if possible, can this get an official repository? The new license is great, but with only a zip file as an "official" source, it's begging for fragmentation across who-knows-how-many repositories and accounts, especially since it's not even
    a proper Maven project.
    I'd love to do some work on EWS Java myself (I've already fixed a number of bugs), but with the license issues and lack of an official repository, that doesn't seem terribly feasible.

    I'm not sure if you're going to be able to reliably find an actual fulltime MSFT person (especially targeted towards a specific product group) in any of these forums. You might try posting a comment on this blog post though, that might help get someone's

    Hi Nitin,
    Thanks for the prompt Response.
    Even I am guessing that its becose of Connection pool.
    I am destroying session as follows
                   DestroySessionCommand destroySessionCommand =
                   new DestroySessionCommand(p_pool);
              destroySessionCommand.setSession(p_repsession);
              try {
                   destroySessionCommand.execute();
              } catch (CommandException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              destroySessionCommand.setSession(p_Uesrsession);
                   try {
                        destroySessionCommand.execute();
                   } catch (CommandException e) {
                        e.printStackTrace();
    But I didnot find any method by which i can close realsse connection from connection pool.
    It would be great if you can help me how close or realese those connection.In MDM Console i am able to see those sessions even after destroying them.

  • Access issue in Service.java (Win32)

    Hi,
    When trying to view the status of Services in Windows, there's an issue with access management in the following code:
    https://github.com/hyperic/sigar/blob/master/bindings/java/src/org/hyperic/sigar/win32/Service.java
    It tries to gain access to services with full access codes, and Windows prevents this from happening for certain system services (such as MSDTC, which is very vital to monitor for SQL Server). The problems are in:
    public Service(String serviceName) throws Win32Exception, which tries: this.service = OpenService(this.manager, serviceName, SERVICE_ALL_ACCESS);
    And in the private Service()
    private Service() throws Win32Exception { this.manager = OpenSCManager("", SC_MANAGER_ALL_ACCESS); }
    Also, all the access modifiers are private static final int, so they can't be seen by other programs. My proposal would be to add new methods which would allow entering the access levels in the initializer, such as public Service(String serviceName, int access).

    These 3 new Roles supplant the 11.5 roles (old):
    XMII Administrators  (Adminstrators)
    XMII Developers  (Developers)
    XMII Users (Everyone)
    On the System access screen you should see which particular roles have permission to the SystemInfo service, and go from there.
    Regards,
    Jeremy

  • Issues in creating Java based web services with JAXB 1.0 in Jdeveloper 10 g

    Hi All,
    I am trying out a simple java based web service creation exercise using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3.0.3 and JAXB 1.0. Here is what I am trying to do.
    1. I have a XSD file called Status.xsd, which has three complex types in it.
    2. Using Jdeveloper Tools --> JAXB Compilation, I have created Jaxb classes for the above XSD files. For each of the complex type the jaxb class generator generated on IMPL clas and one abstract class.
    3. Now I have created one simple java class called Class1.java and created one method that takes the StatusImpl as input and as output for that method. Here is the code for Class1.java
    public class Class1 {
    public Class1() {
    public StatusImpl getstatus (StatusImpl in) {
    StatusImpl out;
    out = in;
    return out;
    4. Now, I trying to create a web service for this java class from jedeveloper. I have right clicked this class and went thru the wizard Create J2EE web services.
    5. At the end, the web service project got created successfully and I am trying to run this project from jdeveloper. When I run this project, I am getting the following kind of error message in the browser
    It looks like when the runtime deployment classes are trying to instantiate the abstract classes instead of the impl class. and for all the complex types they trow that error and the web service could not be even invoked.
    What could be the issue? Is the jaxb based web services supported with jdeveloper 10g?

    Can someone please help me out to resolve this issue?

    Can you tell us what you put in the JMS listener fields for:
    java.naming.factory.intial and java.naming.factory.url
    These shoudl match the settings used to create the JMX Queue.
    Looks to me like you simply didn't put the right values in there.

  • Performance issue when calling java module

    Hi experts,
    It takes much time to call Java module 'JBND_CRM_SVY_XSLT_TRANSFORM' from abap function module.
    When I executed runtime analysis via t-cd:se30,

    When the java module is called, it always takes much time.
    I think VMC memory management is not the cause,

    There are no other applications on the machine. Only the PRD instance with 1.5 GB allocated to the JVM. We do not have any issue with memory on the server and we could increase the heap but we dont want to go over the 1.5 GB since that is what I understood to be the high end of what is recommended. we only have 30-40 users on each machine. There are 8 servers and a typical heavy usage day we may have 1 or two machines that have the out of memory or continuous full GC in the logs. When this occurs the phones light up with the people on that machine experiencing slowness.

    There's an Oracle support note with a very similar MO :
    WebLogic Server: Getting "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded" exception with Sun JDK 1.6 [ID 1242994.1]
    If I search for "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead" on Oracle Support it returns at least 12 documents
    Might be bug 6065704. Search Oracle support for this bug number.

  • Security Issues with Javascript, Java Applet interaction

    First the main idea of the project. I have a system where I need to use an applet to process an image and display it on a web page.
    I have written the applet that does the image processing and it saves the finished image on the users disc. It then uses the showDocument(url) method to pass the URL of the local file to a java script function on the html page.
    This is where the problem occurs. Firefox won't display that image and complains about a security error because the remote page is linking to a local file. Interestingly enough IE6 on windows has no issue displaying the generated image.
    I really have two questions.
    1)Is there a quick/dirty fix that just simply gets around the security barrier Firefox has?
    2)Is there some other, more elegant, way of getting an image from an applet to the webpage. It doesn't matter if it requires writing to disc or not.
    Thanks! Any suggestions out there will help me.
