Issue with renaming the package name from "Oracle" to "oracle" in windows

Hi all,
I created a project in which initially I created all the jsffs in a package Oracle/communications. In one of the jsff pages(a.jsff) I have include tag <jsp:directive.include file="/*Oracle*/communications/b.jsff"/>
But later I refactored the code and renamed the package to oracle/communications and I modified the include tag to <jsp:directive.include file="/*oracle*/communications/b.jsff"/>
But after that change also when I deploy the ear and try to access the a.jsff, I am getting the file not found exception.
Root cause of ServletException.
oracle.jsp.parse.JspParseException:
/adflib/oracle/communications/a.jsff: Line # 19, <jsp:directive.include file="/Oracle/communications/b.jsff" xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page"/>
Error: Include file not found: /Oracle/communications/b.jsff
Do I need to change any other configuration file?
The same ear when deployed in linux is working absolutely fine.
Thanks in advance,
Vamsi

Windows doesn't know the difference between upper case and lowercase file names. So renaming Oracle to oracle will not change the file name.
To change the file name you have to rename it from Oracle to xxoracle and then to oracle.

    hi,
    Does anyone know how to rename the column name in oracle 8i?My method was drop the relationship key first then delete the old column,finally add the new column.
    Thanks for your replay.
    jing

    There is no facilty to rename a column name in Oracle 8i. This is possible from Oracle 9.2 version onwards.
    For you task one example given below.
    Example:-
    Already existed table is ITEMS
    columns in ITEMS are ITID, ITEMNAME.
    But instead of ITID I want ITEMID.
    Solution:-
    step 1 :- create table items_dup
    as select itid itemid, itemname from items;
    step 2 :- drop table items;
    step 3 :- rename items_dup to items;
    Result:-
    ITEMS table contains columns ITEMID, ITEMNAME

  • Can we rename the database name in oracle 10g

    Hi,
    Can we rename the database name in oracle 10g.
    Please help

    Yes as already said, using DBNEWID Utility can renamed the database name.
    You can also take a look at the Oracle Metalink Note:429674.1 (Which was written by me) - Subject: How We Used the Oracle DBNEWID Utility to Change the Database Name

  • How to rename the package name?

    Thanks for reading my post.
    I need to rename my project, but the package name stays the same. When I tried to rename it, IDE tells me that "rename default package is not supported". Is there any way that I can rename the package?
    Thanks in advance,

    thats a very good question, I have been just living with it myself figuring if the IDE couldn't change it things could get pretty ugly trying to dig down and do it manually. I'll watch this thread and see if anyone comes up with any ideas.

    Hi,
    We are facing an issue while invoking a deployed Bpel Process from Oracle Applications 11.5.10..
    Using a concurrent program( Unix / Host program ) we are passing the input variables required for the Bpel process in the ProcessRequest tags and forming this as a SOAP message payload.
    Then trying to invoke the deployed bpel process using the end point location using HTTP POST..but nothing is happening..
    The bpel process is not getting invoked when i look at the Console and also checked for the Manual Recovery queue..it's not stuck there as well..
    Have set the Transfer Time Out to 25 minutes using UTL_HTTP.SET_TRANSFER_TIMEOUT(1500);

  • Performance issue with view selection after migration from oracle to MaxDb

    Hello,
    After the migration from oracle to MaxDb we have serious performance issues with a lot of our tableview selections.
    Does anybody know about this problem and how to solve it ??
    Best regards !!!
    Gert-Jan

    Hello Gert-Jan,
    most probably you need additional indexes to get better performance.
    Using the command monitor you can identify the long running SQL statements and check the optimizer access strategy. Then you can decide which indexes might help.
    If this is about an SAP system, you can find additional information about performance analysis in SAP notes 725489 and 819641.
    SAP Hosting provides the so-called service 'MaxDB Migration Support' to help you in such cases. The service description can be found here:
    http://www.saphosting.de/mediacenter/pdfs/solutionbriefs/MaxDB_de.pdf

  • Issue with Getting the file path from InputFile component

    Hi,
    One of our requirement is like below:
    I am working on ADF 11g (latest release R1) page. User will select the file and when he/she clicks on the Save button we need to store the file path in the database.
    In the database file_path is varchar2(300). We need to store just the file path. I am using InputFile component but filepath is not getting inserted.
    This is really urgent. It would be really appreciate if anyone can guide me on this.
    Thanks
    MC

    Hi Mahesh,
    I have manage to store the file path from the InputFile component in Jdev 11g. I found the file upload script from this forum and manage to alter it so that i could save the file path to the database. But my problem is to retrieve it back to view as a document. Hope this will help you :)
    This is an example of what I have manage to save to my DB :
    (CLOB) //192.168.238.53/c$/Research/Docs/0906160744/EyeCandyLog.txt
    In my form, I save the file path first before I update the other fields. My code is something like this :
    public void uploadFile(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    // Add event code here...
    InputStream in;
    FileOutputStream out;
    if(tanda == 0){
    try {

    RS01Proposal rS01Proposal = (RS01Proposal)new InitialContext().lookup("Phase2-RS01Proposal#sr.model.RS01Proposal");
    id = rS01Proposal.dptProposalid();
    tanda = tanda + 1;
    System.out.println("tanda"+ tanda);
    } catch (Exception ex) {

    System.out.println("id"+id);

  • Issue with enabling the save button for Oracle Composer

    Hi
    I was trying to create a custom webcenter portal application through JDeveloper which allows the user to edit the content at runtime with the help of oracle composer.
    Followed the steps below as specified in the developers guide.
    1. Implemented ADF security.
    2. Updated the adf-config file with the required namespaces.
    3. Updated the web.xml file to set the appropriate filter mappings.
    The web application is deployed successfully without any errors. However, the save button doesn't seem to get enabled. So, not very sure if the sandbox is enabled.
    Have a hunch that there could be a problem in configuring it with the datasource as while deploying the prompt still refers to the file system mds and not from DB.
    Could somebody please provide clear steps as to how to go about the dataSource creation and configure this datastore for enabling the sandbox. It would really help in understanding it better.
    Thanks

    First of all, are you using webcenter 11.1.1.3 or 11.1.1.4?
    Judging from your explenation i should say you are using .3 because in the later releases you don't need to configure adf security anymore.
    If you are using .3 than you should complete following steps:

    Who can help me?
    Thanks Advanced

    Hello,
    What's the charset of your database? Mine is AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8
    In this case, I could successfully insert and retrieve the Chinese characters without any encoding parameter in the getString() method. Perhaps you could try it.

  • How to change the package name of View or Window

    Hi all,
    i have created the Webdynpro Application.i have some Views and Windows in the WebDynpro Peoject.i want to change the package Names of Views.is it possible???
    thanks in advance
    regards
    Naidu

    Hi Naidu
        Though you rename the package name, the view in that package refers to the old package and hence that view can be used in other views by including the old package name only. Renaming doesn't have significance that you expect. You can create a new package and views in it and copy the implementation of views from the old package to the views in the new package.

  • Getting Package Name From Class File Without Parsing File

    I am writing an application where I need to get the package name from a class file without parsing the class file itself.
    Basically, what happens is the user chooses a class file from anywhere in the file system. I then want to use reflection to get information about that class. To do that I need the fully qualified class name. I know that the package name is part or all of the path name but I don't know for sure which part it is. I don't want to parse the class file directly for the package name in case the class file spec is changed (that way I won't have to rewrite any code).
    Does Java have any way of getting this information without doing something stupid like gradually stripping off part of the pathname and trying it?

    The ClassLoader way seems to work fine, copy a class file to "A.class" and run this:import java.io.*;
    class ClassLoaderExample {
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
            class MyClassLoader extends ClassLoader {
                public Class load() throws IOException {
                    File f = new File("A.class");
                    byte[] classData = new byte[(int) f.length()];
                    new RandomAccessFile(f, "r").readFully(classData);
                    Class loaded = defineClass(null, classData, 0, classData.length);
                    resolveClass(loaded);
                    return loaded;
            Class c = new MyClassLoader().load();
            System.out.println(c);
            System.out.println(c.newInstance());
    }
