Issues binding IP to BM

Hi
I have a BM server with 3 NICs in a standard private/public/DMZ setup which
was working great.
I've switched ISP, and they have given me a public IP with a 255.255.255.
255 mask, which I can't bind to the public NIC in the server.
Any ideas how to get around this?
TIA

Out of curiosity, check the default gateway that they also told you to setup. Doing some simple math, you can setup your own subnet mask, it doesn't have to be right, here is an example
If my address was 192.168.0.1 and my default gateway was 192.168.0.2 I could use any mask I want (other than .255, and .254). Now the drawback of me using a mask of .0 would be that IF my mask was SUPPOSED to be 255.255.255.248, then I just wouldn't be able to contact anything other than the .1 and .2 (ie if my ISP said that the DNS servers were 192.168.1.53 and 1.54, I wouldn't be able to contact them because my server would THINK that they were on my local segment, when in fact they are across the router).
So, you should see because of this example that it ULTIMATELY doesn't matter your mask, IF you are not concerned with contacting other devices that share similar network numbers.
If you want to share the numbers that your ISP gave you, OMITTING all the numbers that are the same (with X's), we can help you pick a mask that will work for you:
if your address was 192.168.0.1, and your default gateway was 192.168.0.254, you would type:
ADDRESS: x.x.x.1
GATEWAY: x.x.x.254
We would then tell you to use MASK: 255.255.255.0

  • Permissions issue binding and logging into Active directory

    Hello:
    We're having an issue with file permissions when our Macs connect to SMB shares via AD.  We bind the macs to the active directory but when the users connect to the SMB shares (Go connect to server smb://.......)  they see everything on the drive not just their shares.   Is there a setting in the Directory utility that will only allow the user to see their shares or is this an issue on the windows side of the house. The windows users do not have this problem.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Issue Binding remote computers

    OK, have Advanced Leopard Server running, DNS and Open Directory setup. Can Bind local computers. Tried binding remote computers and does not see/find server in Directory Utility... yet I can sign in and mount NFS shares. Does a specific port need to be open in firewall to do the binding? - Lewis

    Binding is largely for login. Yes some management settings, like printers, can be passed through this way.
    To print from home you should be using a VPN. The Internet is not a safe place these days. VPN creates a virtual tunnel between home and the office and you can imagine a virtual Ethernet cable passing through that tunnel.
    I think a combination of Mobile accounts and VPN may be the deal for you. You might not even need mobile accounts if your users have their own Mac and are already using a local account.
    VPNs are meant to be the only entry point on to your network. So once you have a VPN setup then your Internet connection should only allow VPN traffic in and nothing else, e.g. LDAP.
    Ok, two basic choices for VPNs... either your router is fancy enough to have its own VPN feature or you can setup your Leopard Server to be your VPN server. The router would then need to be configured to route incoming VPN requests to your Mac server. All other types of traffic pass through the VPN.
    This isn't the place for detailing exact steps for this. It would get long and complicated and there are specific info needed about your actual setup. I have to refer you to the manuals in the first instance:

  • Binding Issues / Binding Numbers

    Hi,
    I have created an order form which has:
    BILL TO
    CONTACT
    SHIP TO
    sections, but I cannot get each to have
    the same binding number.
    example: BILL TO:
    Name = Binding 1   Address = Binding 1   Telephone = Binding 0  Email Address = Binding 2
    Fax = Binding 0 etc.
    I have tried Script Editor and the Binding Number Box, but neither allows me to change the number.
    Also, I have searched the XML without luck, and have had trouble finding information in the help
    and through web searches.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Best, ajos

    That number is an occurance number of that particular field. In your case yo uhave two fields called OrderByCompany and you are looking at the second one. If you change the fields name the number will go to 0 (which is what you want). You can also look at the hierarchy view and see the field names.

  • JCA Binding Component connection issue in the Oracle Order Demo Application

    Hi,
    I setup the Oracle Fusion Middleware. I also deployed the Oracle Fusion Order Demo Application in the soa_server. I placed the order in the store front web.I initiated the webservice (OrderBookingService) and found the below error in the soa_server_diagnostic log file.
    =====================================================================================================================================
    Caused by: BINDING.JCA-12563
    Exception occured when binding was invoked.
    Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'Write' failed due to: JCA Binding Component connection issue.
    JCA Binding Component is unable to create an outbound JCA (CCI) connection.
    OrderBookingComposite:USPSShipment [ Write_ptt::Write(body) ] : The JCA Binding Component was unable to establish an outbound JCA CCI connection due to the following issue: BINDING.JCA-12510
    JCA Resource Adapter location error.
    Unable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter via .jca binding file element <connection-factory/>
    The JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='eis/file/FODFileAdapter'.
    The reason for this is most likely that either
    1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or
    2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to eis/file/FODFileAdapter. In the last case you will have to add a new WebLogic JCA connection factory (deploy a RAR).
    Please correct this and then restart the Application Server
    The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception.
    =====================================================================================================================================

    Thanks Guys.
    I resolved the issue.
    The issue is that FileAdapter for FulFillment mediator is missing.
    Solution 1:
    File adapter connection factory needs to be created via the weblogic console
    The details below:
         JNDI Name: eis/file/FODFileAdapter
         controlDir          java.lang.String     /tmp/control
         inboundDataSource     java.lang.String     jdbc/SOADataSource
         outboundDataSource     java.lang.String     jdbc/SOADataSource
         outboundDataSourceLocal     java.lang.String     jdbc/SOALocalTxDataSource
         outboundLockTypeForWritejava.lang.String     oracle
    Solution 2:
    seedFodFileAdapterResources target in $FOD_HOME/bin/common-sca-tools.xml needs to be executed to create the file adaptor.
    Thanks.

  • OD SSL (Client Binding Issues)

    Hi,
    I am having issues binding my client machines to my server. My OD has a SSL which is a standard UCC SSL, when I connect my clients it asks me if I want to trust the server I say yes then it finishes binding. I then look and see a red dot next to the OD name i just binded to, if I click on it it says server not responding. If I uncheck SSL in the ldap tab everything is perfect, but I would really like it if I could use SSL on my OD for extra protection. Anyone have any suggestions.

    Hmmm...still running into the same issue...do I need to give the cert reference text file certain permissions in order to work?
    I have followed the advice on afp548, and have a self-rolled CA with a self-assigned cert for the server, which is also the dns name of the server. I copied the CA hash and pointed to that instead of the self-signed cert hash, but still...no dice.

    Hi,
    well, you can. What the ADF Data Control and thus the binding gives you is the JSF component binding and the business service access.
    If you don't want to use ADF, then what you can do is
    - Create an ADF BC root Application Module from a managed bean
    e.g. see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/b31974/bcservices.htm#CHDDDBFC
    - Access the View Object for querying the data to display
    - Expose the queried data so the component can handle it e.g. setter/getter for input components, ArrayList for tables (or you create the more complex component models like table and tree models)
    Having outlined the above, here are some gotchas to watch out for
    - Make sure creating the root application module is done such that you don't create/release it with each request. So you may consider a data serving managed bean in a scope like page flow or session
    - Ensure you have helper methods that allow you to query and CRUD operate the View Object data

  • Lion Clients 10.7.4 show network accounts are unavailable and server is not responding when binding to Snow Leopard server 10.6.8

    Hello,
    I am running Snow Leopard Server 10.6.8 and my clients are Lion 10.7.4.  While testing I had no issues binding 10.7.4 to our 10.6.8 server's OD.  I created a 10.7.4 image to push to all of our machines and in the beginning of last week I was able to push the image and get the machines to bind with OD and apply preferences on these machines through workgroup manager.  Towards the end of the week though this stopped working.  Now any time I bind a 10.7.4 client to OD it allows me to perform an authenticated bind and the machine shows up in workgroup manager but immediatley after binding the client the status jelly next to the OD server in the directory list is red and says "This server is not responding".  If I reboot the client I get a notification that "Network accounts are unavailable" at the login screen.  My preferences from workgroup manager are also not applying, which is my main concern because without workgroup manager my mac server is somewhat pointless as we use it for very little else.
    I've since tried to bind a snow leopard machine (10.6.8) and this still is working with a green status jelly.  I've also built a lion machine from scratch, updated to the 10.7.4 combined update and am still getting the same issue where it shows the server is not responding when binding to OD.  I then applied the subsiquent OS update after the 10.7.4 combined update but the problem still persists.
    Is anyone else having this issue?  Any help would help me keep my sanity.
    Thanks,
    Dane

    Have you had any luck finding a solution to this?  The only thing I have found was to unbind and then bind without authentication.  Any help with progress on your end would be appreciated!

  • JMS Adapter Config issues with Plan.xml

    Hi All,
    I'm learning how to configure JMS Resources in WLS to use within a JMS adapter in my application. My approach so far has been :
    1. Configure Outbound Connection in JMS Adapter : eis/wls/Queue. I used the weblogic.jms.XAConnectionFactory as the Connection Factory.
    2. Create Queue within SOAJMSModule : jms/MyQueue and target - soa managed server.
    Updated the JMSAdapter.rar deployment and restarted the SOA server as well as the JMS module.
    3. Create JMS Adapter within JDeveloper to use jms/MyQueue as the destination and eis/wls/Queue as the JNDI source.
    On deployment and running, I see this following error. Apologies it is a bit difficult to trawl through. I did have a look in the Plan.xml and it definitely has an entry for this Adapter and the jndi-name. Any other approach?

    Hi JB,
    Please follow the below steps from beginning...
    1. Create the JMS Server in the Admin Console, the target server for the same should be the soa server
    2. create new JMS Module.
    3. Create new Connection factory in resources, give your JNDI names, the target servers should be the admin and the soa.
    4. create new queue, give the JNDI names, the target server should be the JMS Server which you have created in the step 1 above.
    5. Now go to deployments, slect the JMS adapter, click update, and say redeploy with the location of JMS-plan.xml given below...
    6. Now inside the composite while configuring the JMS adapter, select the queue which you have created above.
    If you have followed the abpve steps correctly, you should not face any problem.
    Hope this helps,

  • BINDING.JCA-12510 JCA Resource Adapter location error in SOA 11g Suite

    Hi,
    I am just testing one simple SOA Application in SOA 11g Suite. Created a SOA Composite Application with one DB Adapter at designtime all worked fine with DB Adapter. But when I deploy the Application on the server I get the following error:
    The JCA Binding Component was unable to establish an outbound JCA CCI connection due to the following issue: BINDING.JCA-12510 JCA Resource Adapter location error. Unable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter via .jca binding file element <connection-factory/> The JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='eis/DB/soademoDatabase'. The reason for this is most likely that either 1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or 2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to eis/DB/soademoDatabase. In the last case you will have to add a new WebLogic JCA connection factory (deploy a RAR). Please correct this and then restart the Application Server ".Do I need to jndi-name in weblogic-ra.xml if so what is the exact location. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    I did but still not able to connect now getting the following error. I went to the Weblogic Console, clicked on deployments, selected DBAdapter, clicked on configuration ,
    and then I don't see outbound configurations instead it shows Outbound Connection Pools, Under Outbound Connection Pools tab I clicked on New and it asked to select Outbound Connection Group I selected the one that was already there (with JNDI eis/DB/SOADemo) and then created my JNDI which was added to the default Outbound Connection Group and in the end it asked to save the Plan.xml which I saved it under a new directory created under soa directory. But still am not able to connect.
    How do I create my own Connection Group as don't want to use the defualt one out there.
    After creating the JNDI Name it asks for saving the Plan.xml file. Where exactly we save this file. Are there any standards.
    Why can't I update any properties when I click on the new JNDI name it takes to Settings for javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory --> Outbound Connection Properties but there I see a save buttn but I can't make any changes.
    BINDING.JCA-12563 Exception occured when binding was invoked. The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception. Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution. Is there any documentation that lists all these steps as I couldn't find it anywhere. The guide only talks abou DBAdapter but how to configure etc can't find any info. Any help is appreciated.

  • Problem binding variable to query in procedure

    Hi folks,
    I'm having an issue binding a variable to a query.  For example the following works in my procedure;
    DECLARE V_PLANT NVARCHAR(4) := 'ACME';
    tempVar = select field1 from myView where Plant = :V_PLANT;
    When I debug my procedure I can see the variable V_PLANT = 'ACME' and tempVar contains 1 single value (field1) record.
    Now, alternatively, if I try passing my variable like this it is not working (get error: no data found);
    DECLARE V_PLANT NVARCHAR(4) := 'ACME';
    ABCVariable NVARCHAR(45) := '';
    select field1 into ABCVariable from myView where Plant = :V_PLANT;
    However if I hard code the plant variable as a literal string like this I indeed get data;
    DECLARE V_PLANT NVARCHAR(4) := 'ACME';
    ABCVariable NVARCHAR(45) := '';
    select field1 into newVariable from myView where Plant = 'ACME';
    Result is I have a value of 'ACME' in ABCVariable.  It seems when I'm using SELECT INTO syntax I can no longer use variables in the where condition.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    -Patrick

    Hi Patrick
    I cannot reproduce this problem:
    create procedure get_article_by_label (IN v_article_label varchar)
    language sqlscript
    as
    begin
        declare v_article_id integer := -1;
        select max(article_id) into v_article_id
        from efashion.article_lookup
        where UPPER(article_label) like '%' || UPPER(:v_article_label) || '%';
        select * from efashion.article_lookup
        where article_id = :v_article_id;
    end;
    call get_article_by_label ('Leather Belt');
    ARTICLE_ID  ARTICLE_LABEL           CATEGORY            SALE_PRICE  FAMILY_NAME FAMILY_CODE
    143848      Patchwork Leather Belt  Belts,bags,wallets  88.9        Accessories F60
    As you see I use the input variable in the WHERE condition, and reuse the found ID to select data again.
    Not sure though, why it doesn't work in your case.
    Is the target variable in your working example also ABCVariable or indeed newVariable?
