Issues with n97 mini

heyy guys, if u guys are having issues with your n97 mini, lets share them here. as for mine, the issues im having right now are the light time out and music player.
- the light time out sometimes doesnt work as it should be, and i think it has to do with camera/video recording apps. lets say at first it would work fine, then if i start video recorder and record videos, and after closing the app, light time out wont work. i have to start video recorder again and close it, then light time out would work again.
- miscalculation of songs under artist's label. lets say i have only one song under Green Day band, but when i look at Green Day tab, it would state 2 songs. then when i click on it, it'll show album title, and there it will show only one song. however this doesnt occur to all artist's label, just few of them.
so far that are issues im having, hopefully these would be fixed with new update. too bad the v11 firmware is still not available over here.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I have had my N97 mini now for 3 full months and it has yet to freeze. Sure there have been some abrupt application shut-downs (the std browser in v10.20 was notorious for that), but the latest v11 f/w has reduced that considerably. I've never had a reason to remove the battery to flush memory, although I've done it maybe 2 or 3 times.
I read news on it daily, use GPS often(Ovi Maps, Google Maps, Sports Tracker), sync to ms-exchange for calendar, tasks and email, watch videos, listen to music (local and net), read books, check weather, stocks etc., etc. and the phone works well. I rarely run more than 1 application at a time and do not keep apps open in the background, so memory is always available.
Overall, I really like the phone (oh yeah, it does voice calls too). Keyboard works well, is well built, battery is decent, and it is small and light. I am hoping for new functionality (like the second home screen for more shortcuts/widgets), a way to turn off those annoying "are you sure" messages (I'm a big boy, I know that when a connection is made it might cost me money), and HTML Nokia Messaging app. (version 3.0 is coming, but when?).
Anyway, just sharing my perspective. I've been working with computers and electronics since the early 80's and these modern smartphones are incredible for their size, runtime, and what they can do. The N97/N97 mini is no exception.

Irritating issues with N97 Mini

Why is my new N97 mini searching WLAN-networks all the time?
I have disbled all WLAN searching possibilities, and still it is doing that.
It is wery irritating. I already have latest software version.
The other odd behaviour is that the device is occassionally playing NOKIA TUNE as a rintone,
even if it is not set as a ringtone. Is Nokia doing that on purpose?You can not delete NOKIA TUNE, and it is irritating too.

Hello all,
My N97 mini cant establish bluetooth connectivity with my Laptop(thoshiba A 300- Windows Vista Home prem).
The result same in all cases..like PC suit/Ovi Suit / Normal pairing for sharing files!!
But the device can be connected/paired with any other mobiles for file sharing, hands free etc..
Earlier I failed to connect it with usb cable in my system. but now its working with another desktop (Wind XP)
I formatted my laptop and reinstalled windows ( installed all drivers) .. But again problems same.
NOTE: Bluetooth connection possible to any other devices from my Laptop. The problem ONLY with my N97 mini and Laptop
Does anyone have similar experience as mine?
What should I do to fix this issue?
I am sure my Laptop working 100% normal as I formatted and reinstalled by factory settings.

I have done as u mentioned by applying paches on my bluetooth driver and it installed successfully.
But Stil my connectivity problem with my mobile exists as before..

Wifi issues with iPad mini since iOS 8 update

I Have a First Gen iPad Mini now running on iOS 8.1 . Since the original update of IOS8 . I have had issues with Wifi it connects disconnects itself always looking for a signal.. Nerve had this issue before update of the new IOS 8. It's extremming slow and the apps and Safari keep crashing.. It becomes unresponsive unable to click on website . It also freezes .. I've have numberous times done a complete factory reset . Still having issues. I have reset my router and I don't have any issues with any wifi at the house. I do have a iPhone 5 that had the exact issue as my IPad mini but it was replaced under warranty via Best Buy. When I reciecevd my iPhone it was still operating on IOS 7 . The gentlemen at Geek Sqd told me to NOT to upgrade the software till Apple gets a fix.. They had a lot of people in with the same problem and there devices needed to be replaced. My last resort would be to go to the Apple Store and hopefully they can help or buy a new IPad. As far as the new iPad Air2 I have seen here they too are having issues.. Hopefully Apple can fix this soon.. Till then I will not be upgrading my iPad if a new one will have the same issues..

Connectivity issues on n97 mini

I have a local cable tv internet connection with wifi connectivity.It works fine while using on my laptop with WPA encryption but it doesn't works on my Nokia N97 Mini when the Wifi is protected with WPA encryption. The device shows a connection with the modem but the browser cant load any web page. When I remove the WPA security it works fine both on my laptop & the device. I am not able to understand why this is happening. Anybody Please Help.

Are you using WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption? Make sure the Pre-shared key doesn't contain special characters like @$®€%, etc....

Sudden issue with ipod mini and itunes

Hi
Up until yesterday I have never had a problem with my iPod then I connected to iTunes (again never had any issue with this) and iTunes said that the iPod was in recovery state. After some messing about which didn't lead to the issue resolving itself I hit restore. The restore seemed to be fine and iTunes then recognised the iPod.
However everytime I now connect my iPod at the top of iTunes it says 'Updating iPod' for a few seconds and then switches to 'OK to disconnect'. I can't copy anything onto it using iTunes so am stuck with an empty iPod now.
Any ideas on how to resolve?

I'm not certain I understand the problem: have you re-installed iTunes 6 and now are unable to purchase iTunes Store music?
I have an iPod Mini and have used it flawlessly with iTunes 7 on both a G5 iMac and a G4 Cube under 10.4.7, so "incompatibility" is not the issue here.
iTunes 6.0.5 indeed does continue to allow iTunes Store music purchases...if your problem persists, get back to us here with more info!

Storage : 500GB (5400-rpm) hard drive
Memory : 4GB of 1600MHz LPDDR3 memory
Graphics : Intel HD Graphics 5000
Mac OS Version : 10.10.2 Yosemite
We are using these Mac Minis for iOS application development using Xcode, but now we are facing lots of performance related issues. We are sharing issue related details with you & want to get some help to improve our system performance.
1) System is running very slow & take a lot of time to Boot.
2) Some time it never boots & we need to press start button several time.
3) When system goes in Sleep mode, then it takes much time to come to display screen to type Password.
4) Sometimes the whole screen moves Downwards.
5) Sometimes while during coding using Xcode in Simulator it shows some kind of Error “Unexpectedly quit”
6) Xcode runs very slow & it take lots of time in switching between files.
7) While closing any open application it take lots of time & show activity indicator for very long time.
8) Sometimes it doesn’t support iPad when we connect it using USB cable.
Our development team is facing lots of issues using these Mac Minis, so please can anyone suggest us that how can we improve our system performance & is this configuration is ideal to run Mac OSx 10.10 Yosemite Series and to use it for iOS application development.
Please try to help us to solve these issues & try to share some valuable comments on it.

Here i am sharing required screenshots which you have suggested to share.
1. Open up activity monitor and select CPU. Post the top 5 procersses
and their percentage of CPU usage.
2. Then select Memory. Post the values listed in the box at the bottom
or you can post a screen shot that area.
Please analyze these Activity monitor logs & let us know if you want to share some feedback on that. We will also try to boot & run our system in safe mode.

1. has anyone encountered issues (capture stop) while capturing video from Mini-dv tapes using a similar to mine iMac?
2. how do you capture video from mini-dv tapes with your iMac?

most people connect the cam to their computer and import into iphoto, imovie or video capture
most people connect it by firewire or usb

Duo SIM with N97 Mini

I have a duo SIM card (ie a SIM card that contains two different numbers that I can switch between). On my previous Nokia phone it was a simple matter of switching between the numbers using an available software option choice. With the N97, I can only do it by turning the phone on and off. Obviously the phone can recognize the two numbers but there does ot seem to be a software option to allow the switch. Does anyone know whether such an option exists or where to find it or who to ask? thanks

Issues With iPad mini after upgrading to iOS 8.1.2......

WWish I'd checked the forums first, but I upgraded to 8.1.2. A few days ago and have had nothing but issues.
FIrst -- it takes twice to three times as long to boot up my device.
           After the apple logo disappears, the screen is just black for the longest time
           Then eventually I hear a faint "DING" and the screen eventually gets lighter but this takes about 5-6 minutes
           Haven't had time to check the new manual.... Is this normal?
second -- Lots of freeze ups doing any variety of functions
third -- When tapping to diwnload a WORD attachment in an e-mail.... the circle graph loads properly but the document never opens when tapped.
           I'm not sure which is the most frustrating, plus there's no way to TURN OFF that dorm Emoji Keyboard which just gets in my way far too often!!

How do you know some stop halfway and others barely start? What are you seeing? While it is possible an app is not compatible with iOS 8.1.2, but I doubt it. If it was working with iOS 8, then it will work with 8.1.2. Try signing out of the App Store and sign back in again.

Firewire 800 issue with mac mini

I just upgraded from a 3 year old mac mini with a firewire 400 port which I connected to my LaCie external hard drive via a firewire 400 cable. The LaCie has 3 USB ports that I connected my printers and scanner to as the 4 ports on the back of the mac mini are in use with my monitor, keyboard, wacom tablet and LaCie.
Now that I have the new 2009 5 usb port mac mini with a 800 firewire port - none of the 3 USB ports work on the LaCie. I have a new 400 to 800 firewire adapter that lets me plug the 400 firewire connection into the 800 firewire port - all power up, but nothing is recognized that will let me print or scan. I have connected other USB devices into these ports and nothing works. I purchased the adapter instead of a new cord 6 foot cord with the same connections as I didn't want this cord draped all over my desk - cord that came with the LaCie is 9 inches.
Not happy about this - any suggestions??? I really don't want to have to switch USB connections when I want to print or scan. I am going to call Applecare tomorrow to advise.

I am confused with your description of your setup.
You have a FW adapter for the Mac mini's FW800 port so that you can connect the external LaCie, which has FW400. Is the FW connection how your Mac mini accesses/reads & writes to the HD? Is there also a FW hub with other FW400 ports for attaching other FW peripherals to the LaCie external HD?
You do not mention a USB connection from the Mac mini to your external HD. The USB hub in the external HD can only function if it is connected to a USB port on your Mac mini. This is normally accomplished with a USB cable that has a USB "A" plug on one end, and a USB "B" plug on the other end. The USB ports cannot function with only a FW connection.

Sleep issues with new Mini

Why does Mail 5.0 appear to download messages while my Mac mini is asleep? And why is my Lacie external drive (d2 Quadra v3 attached via USB port) not sleeping when the mini is sleeping?

When I check my e-mail with my iPhone in the morning, there are no messages there, because when I wake up the Mini the next morning, it has already downloaded messages I received overnight. I can tell the computer was not actually awake, because no Time Machine backups had been done since I put it to sleep the night before.
I found other threads referring to Lacie drives not spinning down, so I'm assuming that's a problem with the drive, not with Lion trying to access the drive while the computer is asleep.
