Istreambuf_iterator usage with Studio 11

I am trying upgrade some code that is running with Studio 8 to Studio 11 compiler. It uses the Rogue Wave Std C++ library (libCstd).
The code looks like this:
ofstream outStr("Out");
ifstream inStr("in");
if (inStr.peek() != EOF) {
     copy((istreambuf_iterator<char>(inStr)),
     istreambuf_iterator<char>(),
     ostreambuf_iterator<char>(outStr));
When I build this it gives an error:
Undefined first referenced
symbol in file
char std::istreambuf_iterator<char,std::char_traits<char> >::proxy::operator*()
What is the problem and how to fix this?
Thanks

This is the source file:
#include <fstream>
#include <algorithm>
using namespace std;
int main(int argc, char** argv) {
  ofstream outStr("outFile");
  ifstream inStr("inFile");
  if(outStr) {
       if (inStr.peek() != EOF) {
      copy((istreambuf_iterator<char>(inStr)),
         istreambuf_iterator<char>(),
         ostreambuf_iterator<char>(outStr));
  return 0;
This is the compile command:
CC -I/s11/SUNWspro/prod/include/CC/Cstd  -g -lCstd isbftest.cpp This is the error I get:
Undefined first referenced
symbol in file
char std::istreambuf_iterator<char,std::char_traits<char> >::proxy::operator*() isbftest.o
Interestingly, the code compiles and works if the -g flag is removed from the compile command.
Thanks.

  • Comparing the BOM usage with the actual usage for materials.

    Hi All
    My client want to compare the BOM usage with the actual usage and have a report for this within a period? More specified they want to calculate the BOM usage, based on the requirement quantity from confirmation - but with out the scrap %. mulitplied with the confimed quantity of the header material.
    The actual usage should be based on  goods issuing from stock, either as goods issue to order (backflushing) or as goods issue to cost center.
    I havent been able to indentiy a standard report for doing this - does some of you know a standard report?
    -  I was thinking of the following method:
    Look at  tabel RESB and compare it  with MSEG, but I have some diferent problems with this.
      - In resb there is no qty before scrap.
      - The data amount from MSEG, is so huge so it is not possible to make a data search for a whole period (eg. month)
    Br. M

    There is one std report MCRX which gives a comparison of quanity in order and actual consumption,
    if it doesnt meet your need, you may have to create a custom report.
    logic can be find the quantites as per BOM for the produced quantities
    issued quantities to the order
    tables you may need are AUFK AUFM
    AFKO, STAS STPO
    MSEG, MKPO
    JEST ( if you want to filter using order status)

    hello, i have updated my iphone 5 black 16 gb to ios 7.0.2 (11a501) and my battery life of my iphone has become worse it gives 9 hours of usage with out doing anything, i have done everything every tip that is available online i had 3gs and 4s so i know how to save battry life,i even tried  not using my iphone as well but still no change at all!. i have upadted to ios 7.0.3 then downgraded it , i thought battery may be an issue ,so i put  brand new battery still no change , so what should i do ? , update to the latest version which is ios 7.0.4 or wait for the ios 7.1 , i was using iphone 4s running on ios 6.1 it gave me 3 days of battery timing , iphone 5 seemed to be very bad for me ,help ! ?
    its facory unlocked btw

    Try to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
    Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining.

  • How Can I put an Artists Live Albums in a separate folder, so they sort by "Concert Date" in iTunes and do not "intermingle" so to speak with Studio Albums?  Is this possible?

    How Can I put an Artists Live Albums in a separate folder, so they sort by "Concert Date" in iTunes and do not "intermingle" so to speak with Studio Albums?  Is this possible?
    That is about the best way I can phrase my question.
    I put year/month/date at the beginning of a show, hoping for them to sort by date and I get mixed results.
    Would creating a Folder within the Artists' existing folder  that said "Pearl Jam Live", inside the "Pearl Jam" folder in iTunes Media help this "Date Sorting Issue"?
    Thank you.

    Or is there a way to go through aperture to make a new reference library that I can move the masters into later?
    you do not move the masters into a references library - you turn your current library into a referenced library.  As Terence Devlin said:
    File -> Relocate Masters
    What you should set up:
    Select a folder, where you want to store your referenced files - probably on an external drive.
    Decide on a hierarchical folder structure inside this folder - that is completely up to you.
    Select a project from your library and use the command "File -> Relocate Masters/Originals" to move the original image files to the folder where you want to go them to. Only take care not to send two projects to the same folder.
    Alternatively, if you do not care about the folder structure Aperture will use, select all images at once from the "Photos" view and let Aperture decide how to assing the folders - in the "Relocate Originals" dialoge you can specify a subfolder format.

  • Huge data usage with Verison 4G LTE hotspot ( Verizon-890L-50DB)

    Recently upgraded my internet service to a Verizon 4G LTE hotspot (Verizon-890L-50DB).  First month - no problems - second month - I have 6GB of overage charges.  Every time I log in to check email or any other minimal data usage task, I get hit with another GB or more of download usage.  My computer is an HP Pavilion Laptop, Windows 7 with NETWORX installed.  Networx tells me it is indeed MY computer that is downloading this data and my hard drive is also showing the increases in data.
    I've run AVG, Glary Utilities, Speedy PC PRO and Spybot Search and Destroy but found no virus, rootkit or anything on my computer that would explain this problem.
    When I use a different wireless internet service, I do NOT see the extraneous data usage.
    I contacted Verizon's support team and got no help diagnosing the problem but they did agree to send a replacement for my hotspot device.  Hopefully this fixes the issue; then I have to battle with them about the unwarranted $60 or more in overage charges.
    Has anyone else experienced a problem similar to this?

    I would recomend getting out of the contract before the 14 day trial period ends.   Verizon will charge you an activation fee, restocking fee and one months service, but that is better than being stuck with this mess.  I have homefusion and am afraid to use since verizon seems to fabricate data usage.  Unfortunately I did not realize this untill after the 14 day trial.  Now is will cost me $350 to terminate my contract.

    Exactly the same thing has happened to me.  I purchased the Verizon Jetpack™ 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L two days ago.  After one day, I had supposedly used half the 5GB monthly allowance.  After two days, I am at 4.25 GB usage.  I don't stream movies, I have the hotspot password protected, I live alone, and no one else uses my computer.  I have not downloaded any large files.  At this rate, I'll go broke soon.

  • Libsslport library conflict when using components built with studio 11 & 12

    I have a library built with Studio 11 that links with libstlport.so in studio 11. I then build an application with studio 12 which links with studio 12 stilport.so. When I do an ldd on the application it reports that it depends on stlport.so from both studio 11 and 12. This happens even if I set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to explicitly point to the Studio 12 lib directory.
    On running the application it consistently crashes at exit with the following stack trace:
    std::locale::~locale()
    _exit()
    exit()
    The problem is resolved if we build everything with Studio 11.
    It should be possible to link with components build with older version of the compiler. Can someone tell us what is the right way to do this.
    Thanks.
    Shirish.

    Setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH is useful for testing and for one-off programs used only by yourself, but it is not a sustainable or scalable solution. For more on this topic:
    http://blogs.sun.com/rie/entry/tt_ld_library_path_tt
    When you build applications using shared libraries, you usually need to set the runpath (-R option).
    By default, the CC command sets the runpath to point into the compiler installation area. If parts of the application are build with different compilers, you can by deafult wind up with runpaths pointing into each compiler area, which can lead to linking two versions of a library, a recipe for disaster.
    The best way to solve this problem depends on how you will use and deploy the application. I'll suggest a general solution, which works even if you deploy the application to remote systems used by others.
    Create a runtime environment for the application, perhaps a directory tree like this:
    myapp/
        bin/
        lib/
        doc/Main programs go in the bin directory. Shared libraries go in the lib directory.
    Build shared libraries and executable programs with a relative runpath pointing into the lib directory:
    CC ... -R \$ORIGIN/../libIf you build an application entirely with Studio 11, copy the studio 11 version of libstlport.so into the lib directory.
    If multiple compilers are used, copy libstlport.so from the most recent compiler into the lib directory.

  • Can we use JSF 1.2 with Studio Creator

    I've downloaded the JSF 1.2 implementation from https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net/ . The package contains some new components, such as the graph and chart component.
    Can this version of JSF be installed to work with studio creator? Thanks,

    I assume you mean a pre-release of 1.2 since 1.2 is not out yet.
    Unfortunately, I doubt that it will work at designtime.

  • How long does the IPhone5c battery last for without hardly any usage with about 2/3 to 3/4 left?

    How long does the IPhone5c battery last for without hardly any usage with about 2/3 to 3/4 left?
    Has the side affect of charging, where the battery's life gradually decreases overall with each charge, been fixed ?

    Eric,
    They did say 12-14 hours, but as is always the case with such estimates, they invariably quote the 'best possible scenario' and almost never mirror 'real world' conditions.
    If, from a fully charged position, you simply switch on your nano, and set it to continuously play through a long set of songs, with EQ off, backlight off, modest volume (50%) don't touch it during playback, then you might just get somewhere near this figure - and if you don't then it's either not been conditioned properly or it's faulty.
    If you use it like me, daily for a couple of hours, with 2 secs backlight and switch songs regularly, using fairly high volumes then 6-8 hours is more likely. It'll even drain when it's not in use, even in sleep mode, albeit very slowly. They also tend to drain more quickly before they've been through their first few charge cycles (the conditioning period).
    Personally I haven't got a problem with this though I can understand why some people have. It's not very impressive in this respect. Apple should be able to come up with something much better - maybe they should talk to Sony

    I recently purchased a brand new Airport Time Capsule 2TB. I already am using the previous generation time capsule to back up all my computers data. May I ask how can I complement the usage with my new time capsule?

    By default your new Time Capsule will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a network name of something like: Apple Network NNNNNN
    Most likely your iMacs will be connected to the wireless network created by the Virgin Media router. However, both should see the Apple Network under the AirPort icon's drop-down menu as another wireless network that they can connect to. Is this not the case?

  • Prototypes are not found with Studio 12.1?

    Hi all,
    I try to compile a rather largish project, and I face a problem with the newest (Studio 12.1) compilers.
    For example I get:
    "/ufsbckp/head-64-slicer/64-cc/Slicer3/Libs/ModuleDescriptionParser/ModuleProcessInformation.h", line 40: Error: The function "strcpy" must have a prototype.
    "/ufsbckp/head-64-slicer/64-cc/Slicer3/Libs/ModuleDescriptionParser/ModuleDescriptionParser.cxx", line 185: Error: The function "strcmp" must have a prototype.
    [...]whereas <cstring>is included.
    [ModuleProcessInformation.h|http://viewvc.slicer.org/viewcvs.cgi/trunk/Libs/ModuleDescriptionParser/ModuleProcessInformation.h?rev=7251&view=markup]
    This is really just one example, as there were numerous similar errors during the compilation of BatchMake (www.batchmake.org - this is a dependency of Slicer).
    I fixed them by adding the <string.h> include directive. I had similar errors with <cmath>, I had to add <math.h> for cos, sin because I got errors like Error: The function "sin" must have a prototype.A man <strlen; strcpy; sin...> reveals that the includes should be okay, I shouldn't need to add their .h counterparts.
    I have never had similar problems with Studio 12.
    Could somebody please guide me to the right direction on what's going on here?
    I think that adding - seemingly superfluous - headers is just not right.

    That's okay, as the code can be fixed, the developers are helpful, and react really quickly.

    Strange.Yes, it is. I used Studio 12 eversince it appeared. There were other problems compiling this software (I mean with Sun's compilers), but these I have now, haven't been there until now. To be honest, last time I tried to compile Slicer with Sun CC was months ago, so the code might have changed too.

  • Does anyone have problems with data usage with att and Iphone5?

    Hello, Does anyone have problems with data usage or non usage I should say with Iphone 5 and AT&T?

    After 4+ months of dealing with this data usage and battery drain problem that included 3 data captures of my wife's iMac, the trigger for us regarding the problems syncing with iCloud, and 5 hours of logs off my iPhone 6 to be analyzed by Apple engineers that included times my wife's computer was both on and off to demonstrate the difference in data usage and battery drain under those conditions, I can say with very reasonable certainty that the iOS 8.3 and corresponding Mac OS 10.10.3 update has solved the problem.
    We have now been running for about 2 weeks and data usage with the iCloud Servers attempting to sync has dropped from a rate of 31 GBs to under 15 MBs per month.  Yes, you read it right.  We were burning 2000 times as much data doing absolutely nothing important on both of our phones, a 5s and a 6.  Just imagine what that does to battery life!  The 5s would last about 5 hours and the 6 was dead in less than 14.
    The distasteful aspect of this process was how the engineers were quietly fixing the problem at the same time sending messages to my contact person within Apple that were dismissive in nature in the face of indisputable unreasonable results. I must say, this experience with the multiple times the engineers' responses were inappropriate put a little tarnish on the old Apple shine of the ‘It just works’ mantra. This was my first experience in 34 years that caused me to stop recommending Apple products without reservations and with a disclaimer.
    Since the update solved the problem, then I can only conclude that there was a logic bug regarding the reaction within the process to the incoming data that was corrected.  There was noting short of logging out of iCloud that circumvented the problem for us, Gator5000e and probably many others noted on other threads.  I am not trying to imply that this is the cause of everyones battery use problem, but it is reasonable that it was a cause for many.

  • Testcase with boost 1.32.0 failing with studio 11

    compiling this (with -library=stlport4, linking against libboost_serialization) leads to a program that segfaults on solaris when built with studio 11 (but not when built with g++, neither on solaris nor linux)
    the segfault happens with strlen(0) (which otoh crashes all those setups: solaris/studio, solaris/gcc, linux/gcc) and it seems that g++ inlines the strlen calls with its own routine which might cover the nullpointer case.
    anyway, I have no idea what's the proper fix: in the application using boost, in boost, in the compiler(?), or in strlen?
    #include <string>

    #include <iostream>
    int main() {
      std::cout << ((char*)0);
      return 0;
    }built with g++ and with sun studio with rogue wave, it works. with -library=stlport4, it segfaults..
    it just happens that some libraries return a char* or null for some operations (netxx and lua are the ones I ran over), and when you only test with g++ (or sun studio without stlport), it works.. with stlport on studio it doesn't.
    in "the c++ programming language" (the only text I have available here, sorry), 21.2.2 it merely says "Similary, << is provided for writing out zero-terminated character arrays" before it mentions the affected prototypes - so no obligation to catch errors, I guess..
    What I'd like to know is if that's considered user error (to expect STL to guard against that), so I can go ahead with that response and fix the code, or if STLport might be hardened against that.

    Hi there,
    since a few days there is on some machines (40-60) a high cpu usage on one core (quad core cpu machines) with the WMIPRSVE.EXE if the HARDWARE INVENTORY CYCLE started.
    i try out some tests, read some forum articles and troubleshooting the WMI management but a real problem i doesn´t see.
    in some articles i read that hardware inventory runs about minutes up to more hours but some machines runs longer, someone more as 1 day.
    here an example of mine PC:
    at 8:07 i started Hardware Inventory Cycle, in the InventoryAgent.log i can see that some Collection Namespace are captured.
    after a few minutes there stopped and does nothing round about 5.9 hours or better, after 21436.097 Seconds.
