You probably have run out of space, I would delete (or move to an external drive) things that aren't being used as much.

My iphone 4s keeps saying it does not have enough icloud storage and icloud cannot be backed up. When I go to icloud Storage & Backup in my settings, it says that I have 5.0 GB total and 5.0 GB available. The only thing I have selected, at this point, to be backed up are my contacts and the Find My iPhone app. Why does it always say I have no icloud storage available when I have ALL of the icloud storage available?!

It says that my next backup size is 7.3 GB, but I have no idea why, because the only thing selected is the Find iPhone app, which takes up 0.2 KB...How do I get rid of whatever it THINKS it's backing up?

  • Upgraded to Yosemite and now my Time Capsule says it does not have enough space to complete backup, yet it has 500 GB free space?

I have just upgraded to Yosemite and now my Time Capsule says it does not have enough space to complete backup, yet it has 500 GB free space?
I am using the latest mac book pro and hacvent added anything aside from the upgraded iOS so not sure why the Time Capsule is saying that there is not enough space.
How can i fix this problem?

Time Machine has to completely index all of the old backups that are already on the Time Capsule before you can run a new backup successfully.
That process is going to take a long time......probably 6-10 hours or more if your Mac is connected to the Time Capsule using a wired Ethernet connection.
If the Mac connects using wireless, it may take a day or two for the process to complete depending on the speed of your connection and the amount of data that you already have on the Time Capsule.
Wait a day or two for the indexing process to complete and then try to run a new backup again.

  • Google Mail says it does not support Version 5.1.10 (6534.59.10)  Any suggestions on what I might do?

I have a nice MacBook Pro.  I  bought it in July 2010.  All the programs are "up to date".  Safari is Version 5.1.10 (6534.59.10).  I went to Google Mail and it said "This version of Safari is no longer supported. Please upgrade to asupported browser. Dismiss"  I checked my safari version and it is up to day.
Any ideas?  Thoughts on the matter?  It this going to be a new thing now?

See if your Mac supports Mountain Lion or above as even Lion which would probably include Safari 6 and be supported is no longer on Apple Support List for security or Safari updates now.
The other forums for MacBook Pro and Safari as well as OS X versions might be worth checking out.

  • My backup hard drive does not have enough space for time machine to perform a back up even after erasing entire contents of bu hard drive

My backup hard drive does not have enough space for time machine to perform a back up even after erasing entire contents of bu hard drive.  The hard drive has been in service for almost two years performing this function with no sign of failure.  How do I adjust time machine perameters?

The only way to limit the size of the backup is to exclude data from the backup, which you can do in Time Machine preferences.
If you use multiple browsers, have you tried clearing your browser caches? However, that's just a stop gap if it works. You either need to limit what you backup or get another drive.

  • ITunes music files cannot be edited, and new music files imported.  The messages says I do not have enough access privileges even though I am the administrator of the system.

Since installing the latest version of iTunes all my music files cannot be edited, and I cannot import new music files into iTunes.  The messages says I do not have enough access privileges even though I am the administrator of the system.  If anyone can help me sort this out I would be really grateful.  I have checked the read and write privileges for all the iTunes folders and it all seems in order so I can't understand it.
In general, I am getting really frustrated with Apple.  They seem to be getting ever more controlling in their approach to their consumers.  I need to edit music file information as I am a dj.  And why can't I import music, unless I buy it from iTunes?  Most of all, why can't I use the devices I paid a lot of money for in the way I want to use them, and not be forced to coerced to use apple's fee paying services (iCloud, iTunes).
I have used apple computers since the early 1990's, but in the last year I have gotten rid of my iPhone and my iPad and replaced them with Android devices.  Much better and much less control.  Perhaps it is time to switch from Apple altogether.

  • Hello, Trying to run Bootcamp on my 15" Macbook Pro (Maverick).60 gig available on my computer's hard drive and 250 gig on a separate hard drive that I have attached which is single partitioned. Keeps saying "The startup disk does not have enough space"

    Hello,
I'm trying to run Bootcamp on my 15" Macbook Pro (Maverick). I have 60 gig available on my computer's hard drive and have 250 gig on a separate hard drive that I have attached, which is single partitioned (MS-DOS FAT). It keeps saying "The startup disk does not have enough space, you must have 28 gig of free space available" Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the advice Bob The Fisherman. I'm just reading what turbostar has kindly written and it appears that perhaps, if I take advice from you both, I need to free more space up on the computer's hard drive?
With the external hard drive; would it be advisable to defragment? Know of any defrag freeware for Mac OSX?
    Many thanks to you both.

  • Ipod touch cannot not be sync as itunes does not have enough memory

      I got a new ipod touch 32gb yesterday 12.sept 2011.
i set it up to my computer and put my apps and music on to it, its has 25.2gb left on it and my computer has 80gb memory left put when i try to put pictures on to the ipod 32gb it shows and error message saying
THIS IPOD CANNOT BE SYNC AS ITUNES DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY,
    whats going on.?
Also all my apps from my 8gb ipod touch are all updated and put on the 32gb ipod touch  but when i go to updates on the 32gb ipod touch it shows all my apps have updates to download
but when i click on the same are showing the £0.69 next to them, if i click on them do i have to buy them again? WHEN I ALREADY HAVE PAID FOR THEM
my ipod touch 8gb has 4gb memory left and that too cannot sync pictures or any more music as the same error message shows
THIS IPOD CANNOT NOT BE SYNC AS ITUNES DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY
IS THIS I TUNES MEMORY OR SOMETHING

it seem's to be working not but don't know how long
    keep your fingers crossed ...
my laptop has an 2tb of ram
you mean 2GB, right? You might consider to get yourself more RAM to run Lion smoothly. Looking at my machine I see that the kernel, Safari, iTunes and Mail together take up 2GB, without doing anything interesting at all.

  • I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS. Tried synching my phone through iTunes (11.0.1 I think... on a 2009 Macbook Pro). Now when I connect to iTunes, it says it does not recognise the content on my phone. Is this because my phone (and laptop) are too old?

I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS. Tried synching my phone through iTunes (11.0.1 I think... on a 2009 Macbook Pro). Now when I connect to iTunes, it says it does not recognise the content on my phone. Is this because my phone (and laptop) are too old?
Also, when I tried to Restore the settings, an Error Message pops up that says " The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. The requested resource was not found.
I'm trying to free up space on my phone by removing [literally] thousands of old photos which were originally synched to the phone, because I had forgotten to uncheck the photos button when I synched it ages ago.
I have also tried synching it on my 24" iMac (running OSX Snow Leopard). But again, when I try restoring the phone through itunes, it says the file is corrupted. It sggests unplugging the device, and then plugging it in again. I have done this numerous times with no success.
I'm guessing it must be because my phone (and versions of iTunes, and OSX) are all too old.
    Please can anybody help.

  • HT3275 Time Machine says my external hard drive does not have enough

Time Machine says my external hard drive does not have enough space for the current backup.  It needs 34 G out of a 250G hard drive.  All that is on the drive is earlier backups.  I recently added memory, which may confuse Time Machine into thinking it is a new computer.  How can I erase old backups and complete this one?

See #C4 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
If that doesn't clear it up, how much data is on your Mac?  If TM is only trying to back-up 34 GB, it should be able to delete old backups to do that (assuming you're running Lion).
It sounds like your backups may be corrupted.  Try to repair them, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.

If that's all you did, no.

Just erase the drive per #1 or #2 of Using Disk Utility.

  • Time machine says restore target does not have enough space, but not true

    I have a PowerMac G5 Tower with Dual 1.8Ghz, 3GB Memory.
The internal system disk is a WD 1TB(931.4GB) disk, but it has serious volume structure errors that are not recoverable with First Aid or Micromat TechTool. The 1TB disk was only about 1/3 full(~350GB used).
Fortunately, I have been using time machine since July, using the exact same type of disk(WD 1TB), which is external..
I installed another external 1TB that is exactly the same as the original system disk(WD 1TB - 931.3GB).
I am able to select the backup source of the original disk from the time machine disk, but when I select the destination(new 1TB disk which is completely empty and reformatted), I get the following error:
-"This volume does not have enough space to restore your system"
I don't get it.....the original and new disks are exactly the same size. In fact the time machine disk is also the same WD 1TB disk. Realistically, only 350GB should only be needed anyhow...
    Please help....
    Thanks,
    Phil

Apple phone support recommended that I install Leopard on the replacement disk, boot from it, then use the 'transfer data from time machine backup option'. This worked, but takes an hour longer because I have to install an OS. I am in the process of transferring 337GB of data to the new disk using this method(system is estimating this takes about 8 hours, so I am sending this note before it completes). This further verifies that there was plenty of space on the 1TB replacement, despite the error message.
The new replacement disk I chose was an internal Seagate SATA disk. I was wrong in the previous note, the original internal system disk that had the volume corruption was also a Seagate SATA disk, not WD(though, the external 1TB was a WD). I did duplicate the bug mentioned in this bug with this disk before I installed the OS, so the problem had nothing to do with Seagate vs. WD, or internal vs. external. I booted from the replacement, then used the setup assistant to transfer data from a time machine backup.
In summary, there definitely is a bug in the time machine restore option: Time machine reports that there is not enough space to recover, despite the fact that it had a full 1TB clean, and newly reformatted space. I duplicated the error at least 6-7 times, during the course of troubleshooting, with different replacement 1TB disks(WD and Seagate), Internal/External disks, Firewire, USB, and SATA connect.
This is very nerve-wracking, as the restore is the major reason we do backups. How could apple have missed this one?
For what it is worth, I spent ALOT of time on this, because I also ran into the bug that WD external disks(firewire and USB) are not bootable on Power PC systems(this is of course a WD issue....).

  • Quota deduction when EE has been inactive for more than 180 days / Advance quota days when employee does not have enough balance

    Dear experts,
We have two requirements regarding to the "Anual leave" quota.
    1. Quota reduction when employee is inactive for more than 180 days
    2. Advance quota days when employeee does not have enough balance
We have in place an "Anual Leave" quota related to a calendar year period, that gets generated dialy in time evaluation. This quota gets the employee entitlement from a set of rules that stored the corresponding balance in a period time type, that is the one that we defined in the customizing. This is working fine. The problems start when we try to incorporate the other two requirements.
Regarding the first requirement, if the employee has been inactive for more than 180 days in a calendar year due to unpaid leave, we need to start quota reduction as follow,
First, we need to clear the balance that was calculated above in the schema.
Then, we need to calculate one leave day for every 20 days worked till the end of the year, considering as such, everyday the employee is expected to work, except days on which the employee has been absent on unpaid leave.
For the second requirement we created a manual quota call "Advance Anual Leave". So, if the employee, wishes to take 20 working days holiday, but in his/her Anual Leave quota has only 10 days available, we have to create an "Advance Anual Leave" quota manualy for 10 days. When the quota for next year gets generated, we need to deduct these advanced 10 days from it. This deduction should stop the year after.
The problem we are finding with these two requirements is that, due to the Anual Leave quota gets generated dialy, we can't get the balance right.
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Alex

  • "The startup disk does not have enough space to be partitioned?" WHY!??

I"m trying to intall windows 7 on my Macbook air  OS X 10.6. When i enter bootCam i get this error "The startup disk does not have enough space to be partitioned" . It says I need 10GBs of free space, even though I have 500GBs of free space on my drive external hardriver.
I did my research, and a lot of people are saying to use idefrag and defrag the hardrive, which i did. I also verifed disk permissions and repaired disk permission and all the other stuff.
What should i do? Apple hass the shittiest service. I spend $1100 bucks for something and i don't even get support without paying? to me, that's BS. so if anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks Bob.
