Ive tried everything NO SLEEP FOR IMAC
Ok so I think ive tried everything to get my imac to sleep by itself according to the energy saver preferences but its just not having it. Unplugged every USB device, uninstalled HP printer drivers, reset the smc or whatever that thing is called but still to no avail. If theres a third party download to put it to sleep please send it my way....anything, i find this very obnoxious because other members of my family take it upon themselves to use my computer and then its awake for hours for no reason ahh please help
I get annoyed by this also. Everytime this happens, it turns out my MacBook is remotely logged in. This [checklist|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/9040.html] might be helpful.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Did you try a reset, hold the power button and home button until you see the apple then let go? Did you try to restore as new in iTunes on your computer?

i bought an Ipad3 from an estate sale for 20 bucks previous owner passed away. i thought i had come upon the deal of a lifetime i felt as though things were looking up but ive tried everything to get passed the icloud activation, is there a chance this is still the find of the year for me or did i waste 20 dollars and fail again?
You can also use this website to check to see if a device has been erased or if it is still locked. This will not work with using a mobile browser on an iOS device. If you have a browser that can identify as a desktop version, it will work. If not, check it on a computer web browser.

Safari has the ability to identify as a desktop browser, but it's a little bit of a pain to get it to work with this website. You tap in the url filed, then pull down on the favorites window that pops up to reveal "Request Desktop Site". -

Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. If you have IOS-7, read this. -

Battery does not charge
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
iPhone or iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive
If you see the image below, charge the iPhone or iPod touch with USB power adapter for at least 15 minutes.
You should see this image when iPhone or iPod touch begins to charge:
If the screen still displays the low-battery icon, try turning the iPhone or iPod touch off and then on again.
If the issue persists, follow these troubleshooting steps.

My Ipod is frozen!!! Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Here's an answer from the net:
Go to Settings/Mail,contacts,calendars/Add account choose other, choose Add Mail Account. Fill in name, email address, password and description on the screen that comes up. Save those.
One the next screen tat comes up click om POP in the first line then fil in the host name as
spop.west.cox.net or spop.east.cox.net or the one to go with your region.
Note that is not a misprint, that is spop (secure pop)
Fill in your username one more time (the password should have carried over from previously)
Fill in your outgoing mail server like smtp.west.cox.net (change for your region) and click Save.
When all the settings are verified a checkmark will appear next to them all and you are good to go.
If it says something like "can't connect via SSL would you like to ..." then you probably missed the step about selecting POP on the second screen and are trying IMAP so go back and try over with POP. Or perhaps mistyped soemthing.
Once everything is working you can go back into the settings and see that it has automatically connected on port 995 and that SSL is on
Note that you probably won't be able to send email from a wifi in a cafe or similar as cox won't let you connect to their smtp from outside their network.
I haven't tried receiving mail from a non cox connected wifi yet but I suspect it will work just fine. Anyway these settings work for me using my ipod to my home wifi router connected to cox.
I could not find a definitive guide when I searched so I hope this helps other folks trying to configure this.

My ipod says theres headphones in but there isnt ive tried everything but nothing works help!!!
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
