I thought I resolved some bugs with updating JSC continuously; BUT there is a bug I just do not like very much:
Make changes to a project, save them with "save all" command; then run the changed project and surprise surprise, the changes do ont take effect, instead I get the old version of the project. Far better is it afer recognizing such a bug to shut down and restart JSC with the intention of getting a natural refresh. No matter it gets worse, buttons are placed anywhere within a jsp page, just not located there where intended to be.

  • J2EE Application server for CCA (Solaris 10)

I know that CCA doesn't document Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server v2.1 for Solaris SPARC as a supported J2EE application server, but has anyone installed CCA with the newer versions of Sun GlassFish application servers? Can you share you experience if you've used other application servers on Solaris 9 or 10. Our install of CCA will use Windows for Telephony servers and the J2EE app/session servers on Solaris 10.
    Thanks in advance!

We will be doing an install in January with planned Solaris 10 running Weblogic 10.3 and the Application servers will be running windows.
The Matrix does not show this combination but we have mixed Linux web servers in the past with Windows application server OK with a 10G back end DB.

  • Question about the choice of containers of the J2EE application server

    Hello,
I need to be clarified about the J2EE technology. After read some documentation about J2EE, I saw that it is possible to use different kind of containers in order to develop a J2EE application.
Actually I use an application server (JONAS) with tomcat embbeded so I develop my application that is composed by EJB and servlet. So when I build and deploy my application at the end I have got a .ear, and everything works well.
    But my questions are:
1- If I installe a J2EE server where a web server (Tomcat or another) is already installed can I use this web server as my web container.
2- If it is possible how can I indicate to my J2EE server that I want to use this web server as a web container?
3- And for my application does the .ear will work or do I have to split my entire application in .jar for the EJB and .WAR for the servlet.
4- My last question, how my .war and .jar will know that they have to work together, in fact do I have to precise a link between them if yes how?
Thank you very much for any information

    1. Every J2EE server must have a web container, so one will always be installed. As long as you write a compliant .war that is deployed either stand-alone or as part of an .ear, you can be guaranteed it will deploy and run.
    2. The fact that you are deploying a .war or an .ear that contains 1 or more .wars is enough for the J2EE product to know you need to run the web-application on the web container. Many people uses the terms
web server and web container interchangeably. Often people are more likely to use the term web server if it runs as a separate process. If it helps, you can think of the J2EE web container as being an implementation of a servlet and jsp container that runs on top of a regular HTTP engine, but J2EE vendors don't necessarily have to have separate products for each.
    3. You can either deploy a standalone .war or embed 1 or more .wars within an .ear.
    4. The fact that you have a .war and an ejb-jar within the same .ear tells the application
server that they're part of the same application. If you need to talk between your web application
and the ejb, there are number of ways to express that dependency. E.g., if you want to invoke on
an ejb through its Remote client view, you would define an ejb-ref in the environment of the web-application.

Can anyone advise as to what I should do to solve this problem? The path contains an entry that points to Sun/AppServer/jdk/bin so I don't understand why it can't create a JVM.
I'm sorry to repeat a problem that many people have posted about in the past but I've went through all occurences for this problem but none of the solutions solve the problem.
    Many thanks in advance.

Some more information on this problem.
I initially had Java installed in C:\Program Files\Java but one of the errors I initially got after I had installed the server was that my path had spaces in it so to solve this problem I removed Java completely from my system and then simply installed the J2EE bundle that contained the J2SE SDK, I'm assuming that by installing this alone a JVM will be installed with everything else won't it?
My path at the moment contains the following:
    C:\Sun\AppServer\jdk\jre\bin;C:\Sun\AppServer\jdk\bin;C:\Sun\AppServer\bin;
    C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;
Any help at all would be gratefully received as I have spent a long time trying to sort this problem and have got nowhere.
    Many thanks in advance

  • Sieble Self Service on Other J2EE Application Server like JBoss

    Hi All,
I am new to Siebel and Self Service. I just want to know If I can deploy Sieble Self Service Application on JBoss or on any other OpenSource Application Server. My client do want not to buy Oracle Application Server. Any help on this would be higly appriciated.
I have another question: How can I develop my own portlet and integrate into Siebel Self Service. Do we have any APIs or specification or any information so that I can start wrting my portlets for Siebel Self Service.
    Thanks in advance

As far as supported platform is asked, you shoud refer to the latest version of the Siebel System Requirements and Supported Platforms for Self-Service Applications aka SRSP .Here is the section http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11886_01/V8/CORE/SRSP_811_SSA/SRSP_81_Supported_Plats7.html#wp1018023 and the only supported platform seems Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.3.
Not sure if the server is not part of the overall licence package, worth checking with your Sales Rep.

I'm running Windows ME. If I solve the problem, I'll let you know.

I am able to compile those. Now when I am tying to deploy after starting default domain, I am unable to do so.
This happens after I add the .class files by clicking on the edit button. When I click on next, it says cannot find the class file.
Is there any other way to run those?
    I am new to J2EE.
It would be of great help for me if I get a really quick response.
    Bye

what is your jdk version and j2ee version that u r using ?
if u r using jdk1.5 or higher and deploying using j2ee1.4 then u will get this problem of not detecting class file's. so if u r using this above versions then compile the classes with jdk given by the j2ee1.4(i.e J2EE_HOME:\jdk ).

  • Where can I find AccessPort for JBoss J2EE application server?

    OIM version 10.1.4
Till now I only see integration with OC4J and weblogic.
    Thanks in advance.

I think what you are referring to as OIM is actually OAM (Oracle Access Manager) formerly called Core id.
OIM is Oracle identity manager formerly known as Xellerate.

  • J2EE 13 : what kind of application server?

    Hi,
I m using j2ee 1.3 but i m wondering what kind of application server does it use it? I asume it is the j2ee application server... Is there a plugin for eclipse that works with this AS(application server); I ve installed Lomboz but AS JBoss is supportexd, didnt find anything of AS J2EE or Sun one AS. At work we are using j2ee 1.3 and AS Sun one AS 7(or version 8). I thaught J2EE 1.3 uses the J2EE application server ?

  • Is it possible to refresh the client from serverside in j2ee application

    Hello
Is it possible to refreshh the client from server side in j2ee Application server using JMS technology,
If you know about it plz. mail me on [email protected] Or plz. reply me over here.
    Thank you

You can either use server push or client pull.
    Server push:
Server push the changes to client on every certain time interval.
You can make client to subscribe for JMS topic created on server side. Every certain interval, server needs to publish a message and JMS will distribute all the message to the subscribers (clients)
    Client pull:
Each client request/inquiry the changes from server on every certain time interval.
You can't use JMS (you can but you must use P2P (queue), which is not recommended in this case).
You can make the client to post HTTP request to get the latest data from server on every certain time interval.

  • Sun Java System Application Server  into Netbean 6.1

Hi , I am new to Java community,
I like to lean J2EE so I downloaded
    jdk-1_5_0_16-windows-i586-p and installed
    then I installed
    java-tools-bundle-update5-windows
I am trying to do the initial setup and do the sample
    The Java EE 5 Tutorial
See this tutorial for information on building and deploying Java EE 5 applications.
When I try to register the Sun Java System Application Server into Netbean 6.1
I could not I have warning, says
Provide a valid server installation location
    But I gave, C:\Sun\AppServer
If you guys can give any light on this appreciated

It doesn't sound like you have installed a Java EE (formerly J2EE) application server. Your download of "jdk-1_5_0_16-windows-i586-p" is Java Standard Edition, which you need, but you also need an implementation of Java Enterprise Edition. The [Sun Java System Application Server|http://developers.sun.com/appserver/] is certainly a valid Java EE implementation, but I don't see in your steps where you downloaded that. There are several types of NetBeans downloads ("bundles") you can perform and I believe that one or more bundles (such as "All" and "Web & Java EE") includes GlassFish as part of the download. I recommend using the GlassFish Java EE implementation that comes with NetBeans 6.1 for learning how to use Java EE with NetBeans. Alternatively, you can download GlassFish separately at [https://glassfish.dev.java.net/|https://glassfish.dev.java.net/].

Note: In order to send the administrator the information he needs to solve this problem, complete the following steps:
With the error message still displayed in your browser, go to the File menu of the browser and select the option 'save as'.
A dialog to choose the directory where to save the file will be displayed. Browse until you get to the directory which you would like to save the page with error.
Give the file a name and click 'save'. By doing this, you are saving the error message to a file from which the administrator can identify the problem by looking at its code" is getting displayed.I tried the sample hello world process also.I got the same error. But am very happy that i can view my processes.thanks for all the help.
