J2mewtk: emulator error

Hi,
I am trying to generate and deploy an example MIDP application. I installed j2mewtk and MIDP4Palm and this is going wrong:
emulator -classpath \ /usr/lib/j2mewtk/lib/midpapi.zip:/usr/lib/java/jre/lib/rt.jar \ -Xdescriptor:gmr-1.4.jad
starts the emulator of j2mewtk, but when I trie to start the application, the error occurs:

  • Emulator error (type 3) CS5.5 android sdk

Hello All.  Have done my best in trying to find the answer to this one but just can't get it to work.  System is win 7 home premium SP1 64-bit.  I do have the latest DW updates installed.
Using DW CS5.5, installed Android SDK and can launch emulator just fine but when using Build & Emulate function, the .apk file does not load in the browser.  Dreamweaver prompts that the build was successful but after reviewing the "buildlog.log" file I notice at the bottom:

  • Dreamweaver 5.5 iOS emulation error

    Hello All,
I'm trying out the trial of DW 5.5 and playing around with creating mobile apps using the basic PhoneGap app created through File - New - Page from Sample - jQuery Mobile (PhoeGap) .  I have both Android and iOS SDKs installed and can run my app on the Android emulator with no problem.  The iPhone emulator will not run when I choose the Build and Emulate option.  I receive the error: "The build of appname failed to complete successfully.  Please consult the build at ../buildlog.log for additional details.  Reviewing the log shows no errors.  I launch both the iPhone emulator and iOS SDK separately with no problems at all.
I was initially unable to configure (path wasn't accepted) the iOS application framework until doing a google search and finding others who were having the same problem and the suggestion was to just set the iOS Developer Tools Path to "/developer" which was finally accepted.
I'm building the app for preview out to a folder on the desktop.
Any suggestions of what may be wrong or what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I figured it out.  The post said to use /Developer.  I used /developer.
Case sensitivity will get you everytime.

  • Error installing IMlet....Emulator Error

Windows 8.1 (I have now also tried it on Windows 7)
    Java ME SDK 8
    Netbeans 8
Since downloading Netbeans a few days ago I've been having persistent problems. It's very slow and the the emulator starts up less than half the time. MosT of the time
I get An error once the emulator opens and it's about the begin running the program. It says:
Error Installing IMlet: See Device Log for Details.  (see attachment)
The FATAL error message in the log is as follows:
    [03:55:09.401]  FATAL - lkit.ui.actions.AmsExecInstall - Unknown error: invalid url: file:///C:/Users/Kevins Home/Desktop/GPIOLEDTest/dist/GPIOLEDTest.jad    (see attachment)
This problem also occurs on my girlfriends MAC using the same code + setup.
There's very little online material that seems to be relevant.
Would love to figure out what's wrong so I can finish this course: Develop Java Embedded Applications with a Raspberry Pi
    Thanks in advance

I'm don't know what is causing this problem.  Hopefully one of the Oracle folks can chime in on this.
Let me review a few things with you just to make sure your problem isn't something obvious...
    1.  You have all the software prerequisites installed: all the Java ME version 8 release software installed listed in the first few videos of lesson 1.  This means not version 7, not pre-release, not beta.  Make sure you have installed the exact versions of the software Tom listed in the video.
    2.  You have netbeans 8 installed.
    3.  You have putty installed
    4.  You have enabled ssh and a static IP address in the RPi
    5.  You can use putty to SSH to the Pi using your static IP addresspi
    6.  When you SSH to the Pi, it asks for your login, which is 'pi', and your password, which is 'raspberry''
    7.  Once you login to the pi you navigate to the AMS bin folder using 'cd javame8/bin'
    8.  Then you issue the command 'sudo ./usertest.sh' to start AMS.  Note you must use sudo.
    9.  Your RPi will respond Java is starting. Press Ctrl-C to exit.
    10. DO NOT press Ctrl-C
    11. Go to the folder where your Netbeans projects are stored.  On my computer it is c:/Users/Administrator/MyDocuments/NetBeansProjects.
    12. Remove all projects from there.  Either delete them or move them somewheres else for now. I want to make sure the project we test with has not been modified.  Best way to do that is start out with no projects.
    13. Startup Netbeans.
    14.  Verify there are no projects in Netbeans.  There shouldn't be any because your NetBeansProjects folder should be empty.
    15.  Download GPIOLEDTest from the Oracle link in Lesson 1.  It will download a zip file.  Do not open it.
    16.  In Netbeans, select File / Import Project / From Zip...
    17.  Navigate to the GPIOLEDTest.zip.  I think it will be in your Downloads folder.
    18.  It should now be installed as the only project in Netbeans.
    12.  There will be a Device Connection Manager in the system task bar at the lower left of Windows
    13. Clicking it shows there is a connection to the static IP address of your RPi and it shows a status of Connected
    14. Run the project. It should install and run.

  • Emulator error after upgrade

I've just upgraded my windows azure tools for VS 2013 (update 4) from v 2.4 to v 2.5.
Before this all my cloud projects and worker roles were able to run locally on debug mode using the emulator, I've upgraded the cloud projects version to 2.5 (as I always do when an upgrade is published) and now whithout any changes when I try to debug a
worker role instead of binding to localhost it's binding to 127.255.0.0. My worker roles uses an HttpListener which needs to bind to localhost / other IP and now besides trying to bind to 127.255.... it also throws the error:

    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your post.
We are currently researching on this and will revert back to you when we have more information.
    Appreciate your patience.
Also, please run netstat -o -n -a as an admin user on the machine. It is possible there's already an application listening on port 81.
The PID in the rightmost column of the result obtain from above command, will tell you which Windows process is using the port. You can find this in Task Manager by right-clicking the columns and selecting to show
    PID.

  • Error in using jsr-82 in symbian java

    Dear all,
I am recently writing java application which require using bluetooth api
(JSR-82). During the compilation, the program works fine. Unfortunately,
when I try to run it with the emulator, error does come up. I have tried
different classpath setting already. But the problem still can't be solved.
    Following is the details:
    epocdrive_j=C:\Symbian\UIQ_21\epoc32\Java\
    epocdrive_t=C:\Symbian\UIQ_21\erj
    classpath =
    C:\Symbian\UIQ_21\epoc32\java\lib\classes.zip;C:\Symbian\UIQ_21\epoc32\java\
    lib\emptyapi.zip;C:\Symbian\UIQ_21\erj\classes;C:\Symbian\UIQ_21\erj\ext\qaw
    t.jar;C:\Symbian\UIQ_21\erj\ext\util.jar;C:\Symbian\UIQ_21\erj\ext\btapi.jar
    ;C:\Symbian\UIQ_21\epoc32\java\ext\javaphone.jar;
command used for compile : "javac -target 1.1 *.java"
command used for running emulator: "pjava_g -cp t:\PrintClient PrintClient"
error : "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
    javax/bluetooth/DiscoveryListener"
This program I am doing is the PrintClient example in JSR82-spec_1.0a.pdf
can anyone spot any error in my work??
    thank you very much!

I could be totally wrong here, but i believe the error given means that "DiscoveryListener.class" can not be found in the classpath given, including as part of the jar files listed in the class path.
Can you check for that filename on your system and tell us where it is if found?

  • Retroguard  obfuscator error - please help...

    Hi!
I'm struggling quite hard to get the MathFP package to work, I get an application errror because it won't verify my class.
So i try to obfuscate the files, because that's somehow supposed to make it work. I get the error: "xxx.jar not obfuscatable".
I use Jbuilder 8 with MobileSet and the wizard is doing more or less everything for me. I have to choose which packages to obfuscate or I can choose to use a script file saying which files to preserve.
It gives the same error as above no mather what I do, except if i choose to not obfuscate. Then I get the emulator error instead....
    Bjrn Einar
    Frustrated...

I tried that now, if I understood what you meant... What I did was:
    - Unzip midpapi.zip, copy file with the directory structure net/jscience/math/MathFP to the root of the midpapi-archive, then zip it all back again.
The emptyapi.zip is the one from the JBuilder8 MobileSet, and I believe it should be OK.
I'm not 100% sure of the settings to use, I tried to remove all the classes from the "Classes to preserve" - "Use the classes below" and i tried to add all the classes in my project in the same project.
The only way I can get it right is when I choose not to obfuscate the project..
I really appreciate your help - this problem is really annoying!!!
The code should work - in fact everything should - but it isn't. Hey, I guess that's how it is with computers ...
Thanks for the help so far.

I had numerous problems with this conversion.
    1. The wizard asked me to specify the new Oracle database; instead it just ignored this information and created an Oracle database similarly named as the SQL Server database. I also noticed a file name "Migration.out" was produced; it contained errors such as:
Error starting at line 3 in command:
CREATE USER Emulation IDENTIFIED BY Emulation DEFAULT TABLESPACE USERS TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP
    Error at Command Line:3 Column:36
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
    01031. 00000 - "insufficient privileges" and
Error starting at line 4 in command:
GRANT CREATE SESSION, RESOURCE, CREATE VIEW, CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW, CREATE SYNONYM,CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO Emulation
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
    01031. 00000 - "insufficient privileges" and
Error starting at line 7 in command:
CREATE USER dbo_COREv13 IDENTIFIED BY dbo_COREv13 DEFAULT TABLESPACE USERS TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP
    Error at Command Line:7 Column:38
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
    01031. 00000 - "insufficient privileges" and
Error starting at line 8 in command:
GRANT CREATE SESSION, RESOURCE, CREATE VIEW, CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW, CREATE SYNONYM TO dbo_COREv13
    Error report:
    SQL Error: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
    01031. 00000 - "insufficient privileges".
I followed all of the steps listed in the "Help" section re: Migrations but still ended up with these errors.
    2. My schema consists of 1000+ tables; approximately 10 tables were NOT created. When I copied the SQL from Migration.sql making NO changes and pasted it into the new Oracle database it created without issues.
    3. While the conversion is taking place, different objects (constraints, indexes, foreign keys, etc) are shown to be copied; their appears to be ordering of these items. Shouln't a dependancy tree be established, and object converted based on this?
    4. Several tables, in my case about 250 tables did NOT get any data copied across. No reasons given.
    5. A log of all activities should be produced for review and completeness.
    6. I tried to use the "Migrate select tables" option but met with no success. Apparently, it makes an assumption that both the "source" and "target" databases wil be of the same type (ie both SQL Server or both Oracle); this does not make any sense to me since the point of the exercise is to migrate data from one database vendor to another. Obviously, different database vendors use differing datatypes for similar data (ie dates).
    7. I noticed in the "Migration" sql that the "Connect" statements are not correct; they were missing the "instance name" portion.
    8. Also, when I looked in the "MIGRATION" sql, I could not find any entries for the last step of the conversion - the movement of data from SQL Server to Oracle. Is this intentional or an oversight.
I dont want to appear negative on this Migration; I have used SQL Developer since it inception; in my opinion this is the best attempt to date.
    Murray Sobol

    Hi Murray,
    Thanks for this feedback.
There is a lot of questions here, I think some of it boils down to misunderstandings, which we should clarify in the doc.
Hopefully Ill get a video of a migration online soon as well.
But here is a brief break down.
    *1.*
"The wizard asked me to specify the new Oracle database; instead it just ignored this information and created an Oracle database similarly named as the SQL Server database."
So this relates to Step 7 of the Migration Wizard. Where you can select the target connection.
SQL Developer doesn't ignore the Target Connection you selected, It just uses it to connect to the target database , not the target schema.
SQL Developer generates a new target schema for the migrated objects. It standard approach is not to generate objects directly into an existing Schema.
The Target Connection is used to create all the migrated objects (including new Oracle Schemas) in your target oracle database. So you should choose an Oracle Target Connection which has enough privileges to create new Schemas and Objects.
But as you have found, it doesn't generate the migrate objects , like tables, ... , directly into your chosen Target Connection.
From the errors you encountered it doesn't sound like the Target Connection (and the underling Oracle Schema) doesn't have the privileges to create other Schemas.
If you use something like a connection to the SYSTEM schema on your target database, it should run OK.
It wont create any objects in SYSTEM, rather it will use SYSTEM privileges to create a new schema (ex: dbo_Northwind) and populate it.
You don't have to use SYSTEM, but you do need a schema with enough privileges to create other schemas.
That is the straight forward way. But if you really need to generate into an existing schema the following steps can be taken.
a)rename the schema under the Converted Database Objects
b)Right click "Converted Databases Objects" and choose generate. it will kick off the Migration Wizard in the correct place
    *2.*
My schema consists of 1000+ tables; approximately 10 tables were NOT created. When I copied the SQL from Migration.sql making NO changes and pasted it into the new Oracle database it created without issues.
When you say Migration.sql , is the entire generation file , which can be found in your <outputspecified>/generated/<projectname.modelname>.sql ?
When your say "pasted it into the new Oracle database" , are you running it in SQL Developers SQL Worksheet using the Target Connection.
Basically your migration is all out of shape once the target Schemas are not created. So the above issues (insufficient privileges) has to be resolved first.
Please post back if it is still an issue.
    *3.*
While the conversion is taking place, different objects (constraints, indexes, foreign keys, etc) are shown to be copied; their appears to be ordering of these items. Shouln't a dependancy tree be established, and object converted based on this?
Objects are converted in a particular order and their dependencies are persisted so that they can be generated in the correct order.
    Are you seeing an issue?
    *4.*
Several tables, in my case about 250 tables did NOT get any data copied across. No reasons given.
I'm surprised any tables were populated with data due to the target schema not being created.
The online data move is pretty simple and it does not report or recover very well from issues.
If you are having difficulties once item 1. is resolved, please post an example of the source table and I will give it a go.
For better control of the data move with much more powerful tweaking, error handling, reporting and performance try the offline data move.
SQL Developer can created a suite of scripts which use SQL Servers BCP tool to dump out the data to dat files, and Oracle SQL*Loader tool to insert the data in the dat file into Oracle.
    *5.*
A log of all activities should be produced for review and completeness.
The output/generated/<projectname.modelname>.out provides the output of running the generation script.
The migration reports http://dermotoneill.blogspot.com/2010/11/migration-reports-30.html outline what happens during the migration.
Apart from online data move issues, is there any other data missing?
    *6.*
Do you mean "Copy To Oracle" ? This option is intended to migrate tables from non Oracle databases like SQL Server to Oracle.
Can you give more details on what issue you are seeing.
    *7.*
I noticed in the "Migration" sql that the "Connect" statements are not correct; they were missing the "instance name" portion.
The generation script is meant to be run using SQL Developers SQL Worksheet. I think you only get this "instance name" issue if running from SQL*Plus.
    Can you confirm
    8. Also, when I looked in the "MIGRATION" sql, I could not find any entries for the last step of the conversion - the movement of data from SQL Server to Oracle. Is this intentional or an oversight.
The online data move is performed separately from creating the objects. It is not script based, it uses JDBC to pump the data from the source database to the target database.
    In summary , I would
    a) Create a connection to your Target database using your SYSTEM schema
    b) Right click on your "Converted Database Objects" and choose "Generate Target"
    c) Choose your new "System" connection as the Target Connection
    d) Follow the Migration Wizard to the end.
You will end up with a new target Schema and the migrated objects in it.
Check the .out file to see the errors
    and the migration reports http://dermotoneill.blogspot.com/2010/11/migration-reports-30.html

  • ClassNotFound - eh?

    Hello All,
I have got a tank game with all graphics plus source code made using the WTK. The WTK compiles and builds it fine but when I come to run it, it comes up with the error:
    Emulator Error Msg:
    Manic Tank, /manic/Manic
    Exception:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException
    WTK Error Msg:
    Running with storage root DefaultColorPhone
    Unable to create MIDlet /manic/Manic
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException
         at com.sun.midp.midlet.MIDletState.createMIDlet(+14)
         at com.sun.midp.midlet.Selector.run(+22)
Now from the message I belive it isn't finding the classes correctly, but I have it set to look for the main class like this(B.T.W it can find and display the icon file):
    Key|------------------|Name| --------------------------|Icon|--------------------------- |Class |
    MIDlet-1|------------|Manic Tank |------------------ |/icon/hello.png|------------- |manic /Manic|
I have tryed typing in several variations of the Class (e.g. "Manic", "C:\....Manic\Manic") but none seem to work! Any suggestions?

The classpath needs a classpath (using '.') and not a file path(using '/'):
    MIDlet-1: Manic Tank, /icon/hello.png, manic.Manicshmoove

  • [still unsolved]does 'the all-seeying eye' work?

Hi, I wonder if anyone here got the serverbrowser "the all-seeying eye" (www.udpsoft.com/eye I believe was the address) to work?

(btw., I tried it with a lot of versions all the way up to 6.0.2)
And with wine it actually ran pretty good until I added a game. :> I added Quake3 (well I gave ase a fake quake3.exe since it seemed to need one), then I refreshed and it kind of hung at "shutting down". After a couple minutes I regularly quit ase and ever since it won't start up anymore and gives me a "windows emulated error message box" saying: 'Failed to create empty Document'
Clicking on the only available ok button exits the program.
Wine doesn't give me any useful output on that one (all it says is: fixme:midi:OSS_MidiInit Synthesizer supports MIDI in. Not yet supported. and fixme:msg:pack_message msg 14 (WM_ERASEBKGND) not supported yet, I doubt they got something to do with ase quitting).
I can reproduce that behaviour. (Unfortunately I can't not :>)

  • DKA790GX Platinum SOLVED (backward FP connector and IGP driver issues)

Hi all. I just got my DKA790GX Platinum along with the rest of my new PC parts yesterday and got it all up and running last night with Vista Ultimate x64. So far everything runs smooth as silk except for a couple small hiccups...
1: The power LED doesn't light up. My front panel wires only have a 3 pin connector, so I'm using the 3 pin spot on JFP2 with the arrow on the connector on the + pin. SOLVED: Connector from the front panel was wired backward. Put the arrow to - and it worked perfectly!
2: the HD3300 onboard video seems limited  to 1440x900 pixels resolution. My monitor supports 1680x1050, which I was running on my old computer with a radeon x1650xt. Since most of the reviews I'd read placed the HD3300 between the HD2xxx and HD3xxx series for performance, I figured it'd be a better card than the x16xx series. In this respect I guess not unless anyone has a way to enable higher resolutions on it.  SOLVED: Installed the latest catalyst drivers from ATI for the HD3400 series and in the advanced control center under Monitor Properties 0 -> Attributes unchecked Use Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) or driver defaults then manually set my maximum resolution and refresh rate to those of my monitor. After this in the advanced control center under Display Options I was able to set my desktop area and refresh rate to the correct numbers.
3: Initially I was getting awful frame tearing or interlacing of some sort on video playback, including both DVDs and video files like AVI. This I was able to resolve by disabling Aero but I'd think there should be a better solution for such low intensity usage. I never had this problem on the x1650xt in XP. Any ideas for any of these problems would be much appreciated!
    Current system specs:
    Mainboard: DKA790GX Platinum
    CPU: Phenom 9950 Back box
    RAM: 4GB OCZ 1066
    Sound: Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1
    HDD: Samsung 1TB SATA2
    Chassis: Thermaltake Armor+MX
PSU: Antec 430w (will be replaced with a higher wattage supply when I have the money but works for now)
    Monitor: Samsung 225BW (22" widescreen)
I'm using all the latest drivers from the MSI web site for the motherboard, and from the manufacturer websites for sound and monitor.

Yes, I downloaded the latest Samsung 225BW drivers from their web site though I find it questionable as to whether they're functioning properly or not; Adobe Photoshop CS3 gives an error on startup saying the monitor's color profile is corrupt. My guess is the drivers aren't fully compatable with Vista x64.
Meanwhile I got my replies from MSI, both from the customer service form which I filled out first, and the technical support form which I'd found shortly after submitting the first ticket. I've never gotten two such vastly different yet both so woefully inadequite answers from a company in my life
    Tech Support's answer:
    Quote from: MSI Tech. 11/06/2008
There is no problem with the on board HD3300 VGA which can support the full 1080P resolution which be sure to have the latest mb bios and a fresh/clean OS installation and follow by updated system and device drivers installation which there is no problem to support the 1680x1050 when the monitor can support it: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1552 ** http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=bios&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1552

    Dear customer,
The onboard VGA performance is lower than external VGA. It is normal.
    Best regards
    MSI technical support team
Tech support while correct didn't tell me anything I didn't already know, and the broken english is difficult to read. The customer service answer is ridiculously false, I have to wonder if this employee ever bothered to look up the answer (yes an IGP is typically less powerful than a discreet video card but the goals I was after were well within the card's capabilities. The fact that I was able to resolve the issues proves that). I hold MSI hardware in very high esteem. I've never had a problem with an MSI product that wasn't caused by another part failing (my K9N-Neo F in my previous computer popped a cap in the northbridge when the PSU blew out, and my wife had an MSI board literally melt a few years back in a power surge, neither was MSI's fault) but my estimation of their customer support has dropped a few notches today.
To sum this entire experience up though; this is simply one of the newer MSI boards on the market and it hasn't had a long time for drivers to be perfected. The ATI drivers work slightly better for now. As for how I figured it out, I read a review on the board somewhere (maybe newegg since that's where I bought it) that mentioned the catalyst drivers from ATI have had the HD3300 in them for a few months now even though it's not linked directly on their site yet. I figured the HD3400 would be worth a try. :D
In an unrelated topic, I've got a new problem though I'm not sure if it's related to the board at all. For some reason Portal stutters awfully in full screen mode even with details turned way down. It runs fine in windowed mode. On googling it I found several other people on the net have had the same problem but no answers have been put forward that I've seen. As far as I can tell it's a DX9 emulation error in Vista x64 but no way to prove it and no ideas for a solution. Then again the IGP could simply be insufficient to power that game despite being nearly twice as fast as the x1650XT I'd been using in my previous machine....
