  • Using Java Dictionary With Oracle

Can Someone tell how can i configure my java dictionary with oracle...Currently if a create a table from my IDE and then deploy it it  deploys to the Default SAP DB ...how do  i directrly create  tables in oracle by just  specifying the Deploy option ...
And further  on  I want my web Dynpro application to talk with oracle db..how do i acheive this..
    Please Help!!

    Hi,
Does this mean that the additional features of The Java Dictionary (bufferring etc ) can only be implemented if we ONLY connect to the SAP DB---- YES
If I have to utilize the services of Java Dictionary in my application i can only use The SAP DB database -- YES
You deploy a dictionary project to create a table in the DB.
When it is a DB created and used by Web AS ,it is possible to create tables in that DB with dictionary project using the standard connection parameters specified in visual admin.
Java Dictionary purpose is to create a DB abstraction by providing a standard interface to create tables whatever the DB used by WebAS maybe.

  • Advice please: how to link java client with oracle AS

    Dear Sirs...
how can i link java swing application with oracle application server? do i have to develop web service and then deploy it on the AS? or i should use another methodology? what exactly should i provide or should i use?
    thanks for any help
    best regards

There are a number of approaches you can take. A webservice would work well. You may also consider using EJBs and calling them via RMI or a webservice.
Either is a viable option depending on your requirements.

  • How to integrate Java SSO with Oracle Weblogic

    Hi,
I am new to Oracle weblogic, but i want to do something like below.
I want to use Oracle weblogic as application server and want to integrate Java SSO into it. I think we can do it using Oracle access manager but since OAM itself is massive drop this plan.
I think we can use OC4j Java SSO into Oracle weblogic, but don't knw whether it is feasible.
Can somebody please guide me solve this problem.

    Hi Mark,

  • Java functions with Oracle 10g

I have browsed through other related message threads on this forum and it seems that the general recommendation is to develop stored procedures and functions using PL/SQL.
I need to implement a set of functions that perform date related processing and are self contained (no SQL code or calls). For this I could reuse some Java methods that I have successfully used in an Apache Derby database. In this situation what is your experience related to performance of Java functions compared to PL/SQL? Does the effort of rewriting this code in PL/SQL make sense?

I made some changes on the class posted by to solve the encoding problems with CLOBs.
So here is the result of my job.

  • Slow performance of Java program with Oracle db on Solaris

    Hi all,
I'm developing a Java program to read a large no. of records (arnd 40,000) from a file and populate into an Oracle database on a Solaris system. I'm using a thin JDBC driver. The problem is that the program runs very slow on Solaris.
When I run the Java program on a Windows machine (and connect to the Solaris machine) the program runs quickly. However when I run the program on the Solaris machine itself, it runs around 20 times slower. I need the program to run faster in the Solaris environment. Can anyone help?

  • How to create reports from my existing web application on Java/J2EE with Oracle Client 10g as the backend?? Help sought for

Our company has developed an  Web Application and we are also looking out for the development of reports using Business Objects Exterprise XI Release 2 and for this purporse I do require some help from the forum who can literally show me how to get on and working on creating the reports.

Thats why I thought I should make the following chain in the keystore, possibly in this order.
    1. My private key (simply generated in the server)
    2. Import Root certificates from NS
    3. Import Trusted certificate issued by NS
Then when I sign with my private key surely an association will be formed to the trusted authority certificate. The problem I'm having is when I first made my private key I used openSSL as it was only intended for HTTPS. Now I need to create a keystore so I can use jarsigner to sign the jar file, and I can't see how to create a keystore using my existing private key. Surely if I created a new key and self sign, then import the trusted certificate the association will fail, as the private key will not be the same 1 that I used to make the CSR when applying for the trusted certificate.

path d:\jdk\lib;d:\jdk\bin;c:\windows\command;C:\temp\BIN;c:\temp\jdbc\lib\classes111.zipYou've added classes111.zip to your PATH, not your CLASSPATH.
Add it to your CLASSPATH using:
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;c:\temp\jdbc\lib\classes111.zip
    then try to compile/run again.

  • Related with Oracle Client

    Hello everybody!
    I have Oracle-OraClient 10g in my system.
I dont have Oracle Server in my system.
How can I establish a connection with my Java Application?
Is it possible to connect my Java application with Oracle DB?.
    I tried using Connection Url(jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:manojdb).
    Is it correct?
    Warm regards,
    Manoj Paul

    Hi,
    no, it's not correct.
localhost mean that Oracle database server is running on your pc but it isn't.
you should know where db is running. server name or ip address and than you can use connection string like this:
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@<server_name>:1521:manojdb
    String URL = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@host:port:sid";
    String USERNAME = "scott";
    String PASSWORD = "tiger";

  • Using Java Access bridge (Accessibility) with oracle forms 6.0 client

I'm trying to use JAB (java Access bridge ) to capture events in oracle forms 6.0 client .
    I've a Jinitiator 1.1.8 and JRE version 1.4x
I've configured JAB as per the installation guide . However the events don't surface in Java Monkey .
Has anybody encountered similar issue ? what is the solution for the issue ??
Also on one of the forums I read Jinitiator 1.3x and above is automatically recognised by Java Access bridge .
For jinitiator version less than 1.3 manual configuration is required . however I haven;'t been able to find any on the oracle forms KB
Also here is the excerpt from the link http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/accessibility/faqs/index.html
Q: Are there special steps for using Java-based applications with assistive technology?
A: If the Oracle application is written in Java, such as JDeveloper or Oracle Forms (runtime), customers must first install the latest version of Sun's Java Access Bridge. The Java Access Bridge provides the integration with screen readers such as JAWS or SuperNova that support Java. You just download the Access Bridge and install it. Sun's AccessBridge 2.0x recognizes Oracle's JInitiator 1.3x and above so no manual configuration steps are necessary. The Access Bridge is available from: http://java.sun.com/products/accessbridge. At the time this document was written, Access Bridge 2.0.1 is the most current publicly available production release; Oracle recommends upgrading to this version. Sun's AccessBridge is bundled with Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) and can be found in the Java Runtime Engine (JRE). More information for configuring such products is in the respective product documentation, or on http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/accessibility/products/index.html.

  • Problem with Java 5 and Oracle 10g JDBC driver

    Hi All,
Currently we upgrade our web application to Java 5 and Oracle 10.2 JDBC driver. And we encountered a bug, when the user entered the information through UI and data didn't store into database (Oracle 9i). The problem is that this bug is not happend so often maybe once a day and this did not happen before we upgraded to Java 5 and Oracle 10.2 JDBC driver. Does anyone encounter the same problem ? Is this Java 5 problem or Oracle JDBC driver problem ?
    Thanks,

    sounds like a database problem...
Are you using a driver version that's supported for your database engine?
What else did you change? We once ran into a major bug in our application that had for 5 years been masked by performance problems in our hardware and infrastructure.
Once those were resolved the bug showed itself and caused tens of thousands of records to be erroneously inserted into our database every day.
It's certainly NOT a problem with your JVM (if it's a decent one, like the Sun implementation).
So it's either your database, your driver, your network (dropping packets???), or your application.
The upgrade may just have exposed something that was already there.

ok, the problem is how to send events to the jsf, how to maintain the session, and other kind of stuffs, this works with the browsers but not with my connection. The problem is not the conecction. The problem is keep the advantages of jsf with my connection. Im using a button in a jsp page connecting to jsf implementation mojarra and works for the events. but with my desktop connection and the same parameters crash with a exception java.util.zip.ZipException: incomplete dynamic bit lengths tree.
this happens when I try to send the next parameter to jsf, javax.faces.ViewState=ANY VALUE.
