Java applet loads too slow.

I was wondering if there is anyway to remedy this situation:
I am using TextPad to write my java code/html code. when i send my HTML code to Internet Explorer to view my applet, it takes several seconds to load. Even while looking at other java applets, it takes a while. Is there anything I can do to speed that up?

Yeah....thats not much help.
I have a slower comp that can run java applets with no lag.
Anyone else have a solution?

  • Video loading too slow

    Hi,
    I've added some video to my Captivate7 module. The video loads too slow, so by the time it comes on the timeline has already past all the vital parts.
    The module was generated in SWF, which is what is required by my customer.
    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Jake

    Reduce the size of the video, or increase the size of your end user's bandwidth.

  • Iwork documents loading too slow local wifi without internet

    Our school has a few ssid for local wifi and I am using my ipad for mirroring with apple tv and my ssid has no internet connection. When I try to open any iwork document it is loading too slow. If I turn off wifi or if I connect internet, it is faster.

    It is perfectly normal on wifi networks that have smart content filtering. School network, while not slow by itself, has special filtering programs that check your downloads for specific words, sites, images and slow down your connection by doing that.

  • Java applet loading slowdown somehow related to caching

    We are getting calls from our clients complaining of slowdowns in loading our Java applet. We have found that this is related to caching because if we get them to turn caching off then the load time is reduced dramatically. We also found that if we get them to clear the cache then reload, the first time is slow because all the jar files are re-cached, and from that point on it is quick to load for a period of time before it becomes slow again.
    Scenario:
    Client Loads Applet - 60 sec load time.
    Cache is cleared and client loads again - 90 sec load time.
    Client Loads again - 25 sec load time.
    Client leaves machine for an hour, no changes made to workstation
    Client returns and loads applet again - 60 sec load time.
    During this time nothing changes with the jar files on the server so they are not being re-cached. All cached files still remain in the cache properly. This only happens on some computers, but not others, and we can't seem to reproduce on computers that do not show this behaviour.
    We are currently using the 1.5.0_06 JRE, but we experienced this with the 1.4.2_03 JRE as well. We are caching around 10mb of jar files. This one has puzzled us for a while. We thought it might be due to virus scanner settings scanning archive files, but we have ruled that out. Not sure what else
    If anyone has seen a similar problem, or has any ideas please post. I am fresh out of ideas on what could be causing this slowdown. Thanks,
    Tyler

    I have read through the documentation there. It doesn't seem to help any. I tried to tell it which jar files to cache, but that doesn't help. It's not necessarily 1 hour until it slows down again, it is a random amount of time, but usually less than 24 hrs. Once the slowdown occurs it will happen until the cache is cleared again. If html was causing the jar files to be recached, then one would assume that if you loaded the applet again right after then it would be fast again. Unfortunately this is not the case.

  • Signed java applet is very slow with 1.4.2_06

    We have an application which has a signed jar applets was working fine with Java Plug-in (JPI) version 1.4.1_02.
    Due to customer requirement they want to run the same applet with JPI version 1.4.2_06, After JPI upgrade the applet is running slow.
    I am not sure what sun has changed the security settings in 1.4.2_06. So, Can some one give there thoughts on why would it run slow because of JPI changes.
    Thanks in advance.
    Aj

    Hi,
    It is nothing to do with Signed applet.
    If URL Connection 's setDefaultCacheUses is set to false then this is causing to run the Applet slow. As it require to download complete jar(if any) everytime.
    From 1.4.1_02 (CachedJarURLConnection.class in jaws.jar):
    public void connect()
    throws IOException
    if(!connected)
    jarFile = JarCache.get(jarFileURL);
    if(jarFile != null)
    {.
    From 1.4.2_06 (CachedJarURLConnection.class in plugin.jar):
    public void connect()
    throws IOException
    if(!connected)
    if(getUseCaches())
    jarFile = JarCache.get(jarFileURL);

  • Java applet load but no way to enter credential

    Hello, I have all software up to date, and also last java version, seems that the applet start and load, but no way to enter credential, somebody can help? Do I use the java imbedded in safari or the last I download?
    Works well with Firefox.

    Hello Pfoke,
    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. If you have the latest update for Java and you are still having issues with the Java applets working properly, you can re-enable Java SE 6. The following article will walk you through this process. Do not forget to restart your computer after you do this.

  • Flash website I created is loading too slow and don't know how to put in preloader.

    I have 4 swf files.  The index.html page is a flash swf that I renamed to index.html in order for it to the be first page to come out.
    I have googled how to add a preloader but it's all too confusing, and I'm not sure if I should add it to the first swf that I renamed index.html.
    The website that I created for the company is loading way too slow.
    I've deleted unused files.
    I've compressed the images the best way I could.
    I cannot change the images, because it's the whole purpose of the design.
    Any other options of loading this website any faster other than changing the design, and putting it into Dreamweaver?
    And where do I add the preloader after I made it? The first fla file?
    Thanks.

    If by "converted" you mean that you've converted the trailer to a normal project using the menu option File>Convert to Project, then YES it is still possible to edit the Credits Title.
    In the converted project, double-click on the blue Title bar that sits above the background clip. In the Viewer, double-click on the text you wish to change (or highlight text by dragging over it). Now you can replace the highlighted text by typing in the new text. You can also change fonts and font colours.
    It's always good practice to duplicate the Trailer before converting it. To do this, while in Project Library view, click on the Trailer name in the Library then select File>Duplicate Project. A copy will appear in the Library with the same name as the Trailer, but with the number 1 appended. You can rename this copy as desired. Now, convert the duplicate to a standard project and continue with your editing as required. You now have the original Trailer in template form (which can be further edited), and can duplicate it again if required.

    EDIT: Regarding my first sentence - just noticed that you did mention "converting it to a project" in you topic header. Sorry!

  • Java Applet Load Issues

    For some applets, well, nothing happens. Im not sure what the problem is, but certain applets load, and other applets just make a gray frame and generate an error. Even my own applets I compile dont run. Everything works properly on my applets, because I can run them in the appletviewer, just not in the browser (which is kinda essential for running other peoples applets on the web, ya know). Odd thing is I can run them on my other comp, and practically the only difference is that it doesnt have the SDK on it.
    Computer specs are: WinME with JDK and JRE v 1.4.1_01, and the JVM on it.
    An excerpt of the error it generates every time a problematic applet is run (from my javalog.txt file):
    Error loading class: <AppletName>
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: <AppletName>
         at com/ms/vm/loader/URLClassLoader.loadClass
         at com/ms/vm/loader/URLClassLoader.loadClass
         at com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.securedClassLoad
         at com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.processSentEvent
         at com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.processSentEvent
         at com/ms/applet/AppletPanel.run
         at java/lang/Thread.run
    I have no idea what any of that mess is, or why its so painful. If anyone can give a hand, Ill be checking here every 10 seconds until the time that it gets fixed, or you can email me at [email protected], thanks.

    Can you find a "Sun Java Console" entry on IE's Tools menu? If not, the Sun jvm isn't installed in a manner that IE can access.
    The messages that you posted in your original post are from the MS jvm. If the Sun jvm is operating, you shouldn't be seeing those messages.
    If the Sun jvm is being invoked by IE, then a red/blue icon of a steaming cup of coffee will be in the Systray area of the Start bar - at the far right. If it's there, a rightclick will allow you to open the Sun java console, which will report any problems or errors encountered.
    Check it out.

  • Java Applets (facebook) too "big" for window borders...?

    My java applet on facebook extends beyond the set borders. How can I make this smaller?
    Here's a picture of what it looks like:
    http://img2.pict.com/57/60/e6/0e4f69d546c2eacf750d516f09/K5pnb/yeddes.jpg
    I'm using Firefox and I have the latest versions of both Firefox and Java.

    Interestingly enough, the preferredLayoutSize method of the layout manager attached to the JScrollPane never gets called when the scroll pane is resized horizontally, only vertically. I found this out by subclassing BoxLayout so that it printed a string when certain methods were called. I did that after noticing that I can resize your help window vertically with no problem, but horizontally is a different story -- when I increase the horizontal size, the JPanel grows to fit, but when I decrease the horizontal size, the JPanel stays the same size. Returning smaller Dimensions in preferredLayoutSize of my overrided BoxLayout class didn't help.
    I investigated further and subclassed JPanel to print a message when setSize or setBounds was called. When I vertically resized the help window, JPanel.setBounds was called to resize the JPanel. I was expecting that. However, when I horizontally resized the help window, the JPanel size wasn't updated... at least not in the way I expected it to be. When I increased the horizontal size past the maximum horizontal size so far, the JPanel's horizontal size was increased to match. However, when I decreased the horizontal size, the JPanels horizontal size was not decreased to match.
    So, here's what I found:
    1) JScrollPane vertical size increased: Scrolled component vertical size increases to match.
    2) JScrollPane vertical size decreased: Scrolled component vertical size decreases to match.
    3) JScrollPane horizontal size increased: Scrolled component horizontal size increases to match.
    4) JScrollPane horizontal size decreased: Scrolled component horizontal does not change.
    So the scrolled component horizontal size gets increased, but never decreased. This is odd... perhaps it is a JScrollPane bug? I'll see if I can't figure out a way around it. Overriding the scroll pane's setBounds and setSize methods didn't work, perhaps I'll target the JViewport next.
    Sorry I couldn't help right away, though. Lemme know if you figure it out.

  • Wordpress site loading too slow

    Hi,
    We're having trouble getting our site to load quickly. We’re still in the design process, but have been experiencing slow loads from the start. Our site is http://boltontechnology.com/newsite/
    We've installed the W3 Total Cache plugin and configured it as directed. This did speed up cached pages but initial loads are still way too long.
    In speaking to our themes support team, the load issue seems to be coming from our hosting environment.
    Also, through further investigation, it’s been suggested to ask if Minify will help. Can it be used on our site?
    Finally, we’re pretty new to this and would benefit greatly if we could have someone from Azure walk us through this process. Is that possible?
    Thank you

  • I am running 10.5.8, and just updated my java to java 5 update10. Now my firefox is missing the Java plugin, and I can't load any Java applet at all. When I try it with Safari, it hangs when certain Java applet loads. HELP!!!

    Suddenly my Java plugin is missing and i can't load any Java with Firefox at all, even though i have it enabled in the browser! i've tried loading in java embedding plugin, but it doesn't work. what should i do???

    It's not in Tools> Add-ons >plugins?  Should be Java Plug-in 2 for NPAPI browsers 13.5.0. What are you seeing there? I don't think it's called the embedding plugin any longer.
    Might try getting the Firefox 5 standalone application. Trash the current one and replace it. Doing this won't affect your Profile or any settings.
    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    If it's enabled, how can it be missing?
    If this doesn't work, ask here. No need to register. Make sure you put (Mac) in the title.

    EDIT. Oops, may be different for 10.5.8. Was thinking recent Java update for 10.6. But try installing a new app anyway. In the past, this got me the latest Java plugin.

  • Website is loading too slow

    I recently published a site to mac and it is working fine on my computer when i view it. However, when i try to load my site on other computers, it takes 20-30 seconds to load. We have already gone in and downsized all of our pictures. they are on the smallest settings that they can be. What can i do to make my page load faster?

    Its difficult to tell what the problem is without you sending in the URL of a page that is giving you problems. If you have a lot of photos on a page it will take time to download. What I think is a lot, some think is little.
    iWeb also converts text into images in certain situations. This also effects download speed.
    The .Mac server can be slow and unresponsive.
    The one thing you can do is to optimize your files before uploading. This will produce a noticeable difference but you have to publish to a folder first, run the optimizer and then upload your files to .Mac or your server by FTP.
    The application that I use for this optimizes and uploads. It also optimizes JPEGS. Look here...
    http://www.tonbrand.nl/
    Although I do use .Mac for testing, I then upload to a commercial hosting service for speed and reliability. I use this hosting service...

    I have just rebuilt my personal site in iWeb '08 and it is at.....
