Java CAPS -  Support for browsers Firefox/Mozilla

Please provide support for other browsers (Firefox,Mozilla) for installation (and usage) of Sun Java CAPS. In the Step 2 of the installation, when must supply the path to the eGate.sar, we get the following Java script error with Firefox:
Error: document.getElementById("LicenseSubmitButton") has no properties
Source File: http://localhost:12000/eManager/protected/admin/display/DisplayPage.jsp
Line: 416

Also when documentation is installed in the Java CAPS repository, we can't see-it with FireFox on linux. Some ActiveX code is being called from javascript:
// Load XML
var xml = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM")
....Again support for other browsers will be appreciated.

  • Java 7 support for LMS 4.2?

    Any idea if LMS 4.2 is going to get support for Java 7?  Java 6 reaches end of Public Updates February 2013.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/eol-135779.html

    I don't have any inside information but would strongly expect an update to LMS in 2013 that will introduce Java 7 support.
    For now, though, you are best advised to stick with the supported Java 6. LMS has gotten better in tolerating minor updates; but I have yet to see anyone get LMS working completely with Java 7.

  • Java usb support for  windows

    Hello All
    I do no know if this is the right place to post this topic, but does anyone know of an api that provides usb support for windows. I was looking a jusb, but the documentation says it only has support for linux. So far the best I have found is Mr Stahl's thesis which provides very limited support for windows. I was wondering if there was anything more stable (free or not)
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Im trying to connect 2 computers using USB or Parallell port. On one computer I want to install a printer (regular windows printer) that prints through either USB or the Parallell port. On the other computer I want to listen on the Parallell port/USB port and receive the input and write it to a file.
    Does anyone have a some sample code to do this? I've tried the following code (rxtx) but it cant find more than 2 ports (one parallel and one serial - no USBs even though I have 5 USB ports). Since I could only find the USB I tried to listen on the Parallell port. Problem is that I dont receive any data.
    <---THE CODE--->
    Enumeration port_list = gnu.io.CommPortIdentifier.getPortIdentifiers();
    while (port_list.hasMoreElements ()) {
    CommPortIdentifier port_id = (CommPortIdentifier)port_list.nextElement ();
              if(port_id.getPortType () == CommPortIdentifier.PORT_PARALLEL) {
                   System.out.println("Found port "+port_id.getName()+ "id "+port_id);

  • Support for implementing firefox in an enterprise

    I am a tech coordinator for a private school, with about 200 desktops (mostly WinXP, some MacOSX), and I would like to standardize on Firefox browser.
    But I need some group-policy-like controls so that I can disseminate preference-settings (like proxies and pop-up blocker exceptions, etc) to all machines, and auto-update settings.
    Any suggestions?

  • Sun Java Addin support for FF 7?

    The Sun Java Addin is always disabled with FF 7. What gives?
    I installed the latest Java Runtime Environment 7.0.0.147 (x86) but no luck. :(
    It is really annoying to update an FF these days because of these incompatibility issues. Mozilla needs to work closer with other software developers to ensure that they have all the add-ins compatible at the time of release :(

    Thank you sir! This clears up my confusion! the Java Test worked!!! :) I really appreciate your response.! FF FTW!

  • ColdFusion 9, 10 Java 7 Support ASAP!

    Oracle has released the final Java 6 Update 39 last week, marking the end of support for Java 6.  Adobe has stated multiple times that Java 7 would be supported before EOL, yet it has been a week and still no patches or update.  Does anyone have an ETA when Java 7 will be officially supported?

    Upgrade Java for ColdFusion  http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/upgrading-java-coldfusion.html

    Has Adobe updated all current Java and ColdFusion KB articles yet, so I don't have to assume that when Java 7 Update 16 is released that we can apply it assuming we have the base Adobe patches that support Java ?.  I also have seen some confusing articles about JDK vs JRE, for example Ben Forta's blog post yesterday Upgrading ColdFusion To Java 7 at http://forta.com/blog/index.cfm/2013/3/3/Upgrading-ColdFusion-To-Java-7
    Ben, the Adobe website states JDK is required, not JRE "Download and install JDK 1.7." http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-10-update-8.html and "Note that ColdFusion requires the Java HotSpot Server virtual machine (jre/bin/server/jvm.dll), which is not available with the JRE download." http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/change-coldfusion-jvm.html
    PS +10 to Carl's question "Will CF9 or CF10 be supported on JDK 8? JDK 8 release expected September 2013?", I would like Adobe to state ColdFusion upgrade plans and timetables for new versions of Java.  Java 7 was released over 18 months ago and Java 6 received several end of life extension both without Adobe updating ColdFusion untl the last possible second!

  • Websites that use java are not working. In the Java control panel, under advanced, default java for browsers "mozilla family" won't stay clicked

    I've recently gotten a new Windows 8 computer. Ever since, I've tried accessing certain websites (like www.cnet.com) and can't get the java scripts to load like for the drop down menus. When I hover over them they don't do anything. Other computers I have that run Windows 7 are working just fine.
    I've upgraded Firefox and Java to all of the newest versions but it's still not working. When I go to the Java control panel, under "Advanced" and under "Default Java for browsers", the check box next to "Mozilla family" won't stay checked. I'll check it, click "Apply" and "Ok" and then when I open it back up it's unchecked again.
    Help.

  • Support for Mozilla/Firefox record & playback

    I was just wondering if e-Tester supports recording and playback of test scripts in Mozilla/Firefox? I know the embedded browser in the application is based on IE.
    I know that the documentation mentions something about support for Netscape, so I was wondering how that worked and if that can be extended to the Mozilla family of browsers.
    Thanks...

    Right now e-test only uses IE and IE7 only on 8.2 ....word on the street is that FF support is coming before the end of the year but nothing official yet....
    The netscape option is carry over from the 'ole days you can see it on one of the last options in the tree for the script (options>script) ...guess it's hard to let go of the past..
    Now in E-load I understand you can emulate Mozilla browsers for your load scripts but at the thin client level it wont tell you much more then what IE would see...(application independent of course)...
    Hope this helps

  • BAM 11G support for Mozilla Browsers

    Does anybody know if and when Oracle BAM will support more browsers than MSIE?

    Hi
    You can use the IE plug in for Mozilla today on 11g. However, we do not certify this solution.
    If browser flexibility is important , please look into the 11gR1 PS1 BAM-ADF data control functionality. You can create ADF based applications powered by BAM server. As a result, you will be able to use Mozilla and other browsers supported by Oracle ADF technology and also, get the real time automatic updates. There are samples and recordings posted on soasamples.samplecode.oracle.com on OTN.
    Browser independent functionality is on our roadmap for a major release in the future.

  • Help - I cannot set the Default Java for Browsers

    Hello:
    I'm running Win 7, the Home Premium, 64 bit flavor. I have IE 8 and FF 3.5.8 installed. FF is the default browser. I've installed Java and when I go to the test page: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
    I get a message which says: "Something is wrong. Java is not working."
    HOWEVER, if I open a command prompt and type java -version, I get this:
    C:\Users\dogzilla>java -version
    java version "1.6.0_17"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_17-b04)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.3-b01, mixed mode)
    So I went to the control panel app, the advanced tab, and expanded the node for Default Java for Browsers. I have 2 problems.
    1. The checkbox for Microsoft Internet Explorer is greyed out; I cannot change any settings here at all.
    2. I checked the checkbox for Mozilla Family. Then, when I click OK, I get an error message which states:
    "Unable to change browser settings. Please check that Mozilla or Firefox or Netscape is properly installed on the system and/or that you have sufficient permissions to change system settings."
    Since I'm writing this message to the forum using FF, I'm going to guess that I have the browser installed correctly. So that leaves me with a permissions problem -- which I don't doubt. I have no idea where to start looking though. Especially considering I can run the files in the bin directory from a command line without any problems.
    Does anyone know how I can solve the two problems I described in this thread? Suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the reply!
    I tried running as admin and no luck. Still experiencing the same problems.
    I've did some more reading (much more in fact for what this problem should be worth) and other forums mention that on 64 bit Windows systems, both the 32 bit and 64 bit JRE need to be installed.
    When I was running Win XP, I could just download the SDK, create an environment variable, and I was good to go. Now, it looks like if I just install the SDK, I need the JRE plugin download for just the browsers -- what a ridiculous waste/duplication!
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Flex automation support for Firefox 3.6.8

    Hi There,
    I have been using flex automation plugin for a while which comes with Flex Builder 3.0. Where it is mentioned that flex only supports automation with IE browser. Some say October. Though I have not seen any possible dates yet from Mozilla as they cancelled the3.6 EOL discussion they planned for in meeting at end of June and did not mention 3.6 in June 6 meeting notes.
    There will be a 3.6.19 update at minimum scheduled for about August 16.

  • Support for kde activities in firefox

    I've just started making use of activities in kde but prefer firefox over the kde browsers. One thing missing though is proper suppoert for firefox profiles so I've put togeter a quick bash script and a .desktop file to take care of it.
    Before you use it make sure that:
    1)you only have one firefox profile named "xxxxxxxx.default" in your ~/.mozilla/firefox/ folder. There's no mechanism for handling more than one yet (maybe in the future)
    2) you've enabled/conigured firfox sync- tick all boxes required *except* tabs- that would defeat the purpose.
    Put this script somewhere in your path (mines at /usr/bin/) and make it executable

    cfr wrote:I have to say I still don't understand activities.
    Well, there's too much more (like the desktop widgets) than what I'm going to explain here and there are articles that explain better than me.
    Stock KDE has always let you save your applications when you close your session or shutdown the computer. The "set of applications" that were opened is called session. So... KDE when you boot again tries to open your opened applications at the same desktop where they were opened and with the same files that were open.
    You can for sure exclude or force the load of some of these applications at login, but that's for another thread.
    The thing is that you sometimes have a set of applications (and files opened) geared towards an specific activity. You might choose you to put them into a single desktop. That's great at the beginning but when you have too many activity-related-applications it's cumbersome. Too much applications opened at the same time. Or too many times changing the number or name of the virtual desktops.
    So... If there were an specific way of saving a session of only the activity-specific-applications? So... that these applications just opened in a virtual desktop just for them?
    Well... X11 Desktops were not powerful enough and Kde people invented another dimension on the work management called activities.
    So basically when you stop an activity you just save the session (set of applications opened and its opened files) of that activity,not of all of your programs as before. When you start an activity (either manually or automatically because it was already opened when you closed your desktop session) all the saved session is restored.
    The trick is that applications need to be activity-aware when it comes to save session, restore session and have not surprises as having all the windows of a given application in the same one activity or desktop. So... most of KDE applications are or will be activity-aware.
    While the Mozilla people (or the people that make the mozilla-qt integration) decide to implement activity support for Firefox we need a workaround. And it seems this is a quite pretty one. It could be improved with hard links in order not to waste so much space with repeated profiles but I'm not quite sure it would work.
    About deleting unused profiles technononsense explains my script exceptions that avoids accidental loose of information. I cannot live without deleting unused profiles because I use temporal activities a lot.

  • Why does firefox drop support for a plugin with an update

    Why the H*ll does Firefox drop support for a plugin when there is an update in Firefox.
    FF4 has reported that 6 of my plugins that work fine in 3.6 are now not supported. !! This is a joke, and happens regularly.
    As a user (a highly IT literate one) this is annoying and frustrating, and from a design standpoint, unprofessional.

    Plugins as in Flash, Java, quicktime or such or do you mean Extensions ?
    Plenty of Plugins seems to be detected and in use by Firefox 4.0 just fine according to your system details by your post.
    If you meant Extensions then check for updates, look at addons.mozilla.org or the Extension homepage for to see if the author has provided a update.
    Generally Extensions can need anywhere from a simple maxversion bump to a lot more for it to work properly on a new Major version of Firefox depending on what the Extension does.
    It is professional actually as extensions that were not actually compatible may actually cause problems big or small if they were to still just ''work'' in a new Major version release so hence the need for them to be properly up to date on any changes and hopefully the extension author is quick about it.
