Java Class Upload Option In Portal

Hello,
In portal under tab database objects-->under schema--> u have an option to create Java Object right.
Could some one explain how to call the uploaded java class from a portlet?
Any help is highly appreciable.
Thanks
Arun

Hi,
note that a portal application has two classloaders. one for the public part (src.api) and one for the private one (src.core).
portal components reside in src.core by default. this means you need to load your jar file to the private class loader.
so instead of dist/PORTAL-INF/lib use dist/PORTAL-INF/private/lib

  • Java class reference error in Portal Application

    Hello,

    The test works fine with a simple code.
    Instead, using the external class HSSFWorkbook in order to create an excel file, the Enterprise Portal Unit Test return the following error:
    "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/poi/hssf/usermodel/HSSFWorkbook"
    I have tried to put the ZIP file of class into the folder "dist/PORTAL-INF/lib" and "dist/PORTAL-INF/exlib" but it doesn't work.
    Can someone tell me what I have to do?

  • Enhancement request: Java Class Diagram show option

    Hi JDev team
    Can you log the following enhancement request for the Java Class Diagram editor please? When right clicking an existing class in the diagram, then the Show option, it would be useful to have a Dependent Elements option that will add any subclasses to the selected parent class.
    For example, say I had oracle.jbo.server.RowImpl selected, if I selected this new option it would automatically add EntityImpl and ViewRowImpl, saving me having to look at the JDoc for RowImpl to determine the subclasses then manually add the classes to the diagram.
    Thanks & regards,

  • Call a portal component from a Command IU Java Class

    Hello,
    Please, how can I do to call a portal component from my Command IU Java Class?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Hassan

    Hi Hassan,
    a portal component can be called directly through URL.
    The general syntax to call the portal component (iView, page) is as follows:
    <http/https>://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/<pcd_path_of_iview_or_page>
    Replace all ":" in the pcd path by "!3a". Also replace all "/" by "!2f" in the pcd path in the URL.
    Hope this helps.

    Denis

  • Create data control from java class, not see "ADF Parameter Forms" option

    Hi,
    I have created a Fusion Web Application (ADF) in jdev 11g. In the application model project, I created a java class. Inside the java class, I have a public method as below
    public Asset [] searchAsset3(SearchTerm s) // SearchTerm is a java bean. It implements java.io.Serializable.
    I created data control from my java class. After that, I see an xml file generated under the same folder of my java class. Here is the xml content.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <JavaBean xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/beanmodel" version="11.1.1.53.62"
    id="AIAAsset" Package="oracle.apps.aia.oer.model"
    BeanClass="oracle.apps.aia.oer.model.AIAAsset" isJavaBased="true">
    <MethodAccessor IsCollection="true"
    Type="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.Asset"
    BeanClass="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.Asset"
    id="searchAsset" ReturnNodeName="Asset"
    CollectionBeanClass="UpdateableCollection">
    <ParameterInfo id="name" Type="java.lang.String" isStructured="false"/>
    <ParameterInfo id="version" Type="java.lang.String" isStructured="false"/>
    <ParameterInfo id="description" Type="java.lang.String"
    isStructured="false"/>
    </MethodAccessor>
    <MethodAccessor IsCollection="true"
    Type="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.AssetSummary"
    BeanClass="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.AssetSummary"
    id="searchAssetSummary" ReturnNodeName="AssetSummary"
    CollectionBeanClass="UpdateableCollection">
    <ParameterInfo id="name" Type="java.lang.String" isStructured="false"/>
    <ParameterInfo id="version" Type="java.lang.String" isStructured="false"/>
    <ParameterInfo id="description" Type="java.lang.String"
    isStructured="false"/>
    <ParameterInfo id="type" Type="java.lang.String" isStructured="false"/>
    </MethodAccessor>
    <MethodAccessor IsCollection="true"
    Type="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.Asset"
    BeanClass="com.flashline.registry.openapi.entity.Asset"
    id="searchAsset3" ReturnNodeName="Asset"
    CollectionBeanClass="UpdateableCollection">
    <ParameterInfo id="s" Type="com.flashline.registry.openapi.query.SearchTerm"
    isStructured="true"/>
    </MethodAccessor>
    <ConstructorMethod IsCollection="true"
    Type="oracle.apps.aia.oer.model.AIAAsset"
    BeanClass="oracle.apps.aia.oer.model.AIAAsset"
    id="AIAAsset"/>
    </JavaBean>
    Then, in application user interface project, I created a JSPX page. From the data controls palette, I want to drag and drop the searchAsset3 onto my page. However, I don't see an option for me to choose "Create -> Parameters -> ADF Parameter Form". I only see "Create -> Methods". Unlike other public methods (e.g.searchAssetSummary and searchAsset) which have simple data type as input, I can see the "Create -> Parameters -> ADF Parameter Form" option when I drag and drop to my jspx page. Is that something I missed while creating data controls?
    Thanks.
    Arnold.

    Then, my other question is how do you do the bindings? I drag and drop the attributes from SearchTerm bean. Now the pagedef file has the AttributeValues added but my method is actually expecting one input parameter of type SearchTerm. How do you bind the attributes to the input of the method? Thanks.
    See below of my pagedef xml file.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <pageDefinition xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/uimodel"
    version="11.1.1.53.62" id="SearchAssetBySearchTerm1PageDef"

  • How to deploy a single class to the web portal?

    EDIT: I've been able to create the deployment file. I found an older copy of NWDS and the old project folders are working perfectly again. I'll cross that bridge with the new version another time.
    Firstly, sorry if this post is in the wrong section ... I looked around and couldn't find a section that I thought fitted.
    A while back my company created a simple login module to similate a single sign on for our network. The module worked perfectly for a few months, then about a months ago it started rejecting logins for no apparent reason. I've asked all involved with the system and everyone claims that they haven't touched anything and that the problem must be within the Java class.
    Due to recent workstation upgrades, I now have the latest version of NetWeaver Development Studio installed (SDN_Preview_SR_5_IDECE71). This new version does not like the old project that was created for this task, and I am struggling to create a new project which will do what I need.
    Can someone point me to up-to-date documentation that explains how I can create a project which contains only a single java class that is to be deployed to a web portal? The class that is created extends the SAP class; com.sap.engine.interfaces.security.auth.AbstractLoginModule.
    Please note that I have already look at some of the online documentation, for example: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/e1/8e51341a06084de10000009b38f83b/frameset.htm
    And that was of no help as it seems the documentation is no longer up-to-date with the current version ... or am I looking at the wrong documentation?
    Another possibility is to install the older NetWeaver Development Studio, the problem here is I do not know where I can download a copy for Windows? I can only find the latest version for Windows online.
    Thanks in advance for any and all assistance,

    Hi Andreas,
    You need to do the following:
    - Upload the text file as a local configuration file in the "Local Content":
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/OC2dot5/Uploading+a+Local+Configuration+File
    - Create an OS Update Profile for the configuration file:
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/OC2dot5/Creating+an+OS+Update+Profile
    - Create a job and select the profile you have created as well as the servers you want to deploy the text file on:

  • Password reset option in Portal

    Hi Experts,
    I would like to integrate password reset option in between help and logout option in masthead.

    1.how to integrate a link in Masthead which on clicking enables end user to reset Password?
    2.is there any coding that i have to do for password reset?
    Thanks Inadvance!
    regards,
    Siva

    Dear Siva,
    I will try to address your questions as best as I can.
    But what you're asking is too much I'm afraid.
    It seems you're needing to learn the basic concepts of Portal development first.
    And explaining all those concepts on a forum post is simple impossible.
    Moreover, the component you're trying to develop is not an easy one to start with.
    My advise to you is to first read some manuals or attend a few SAP training sessions on the
    subjects:
    - JAVA development
    - JSP development
    - Developing Portal components
    Nevertheless, and trying to answer your questions as best as possible, here's some tips that I
    hope can guide you the right direction (and again, if you don't have the basics, you
    might not understand part of it):
    I have been through above wiki, its not indetail.
    Yes It is.
    The wiki shows you just what you need - the code.
    It is not a "how-to" develop a portal component. It assumes you know that already.
    I could not understand where to start from?
    You need to develop a Portal Component on your NWDS (Netweaver Developer Studio).
    On you NWDS go to
    File > New > Project.
    And inside that box, choose: Create a Portal Application Project.
    Now you need to create the Portal Component.
    Go with your left mouse button on the project you have just created and choose
    New > Other > Portal Application > Create a new Portal Application Object
    I would suggest JSPDynPage (here you can choose to create a JSP, Bean and a Java main class)
    Where do we find the 1. portalapp.xml, 2. Implement the Bean, 3. PasswordChange.java, 4. PasswordChange.jsp, 5. Success.jsp, 6. Redirection.java?
    You need to create all those JAVA and JSP objects yourself.
    The bean is a JAVA class that you need to create as well.
    The portalapp.xml is a file that is automatically created by the NWDS when you create a Portal Project.
    Provides configuration information for your application - it is like a "business card" of the application itself.
    And that "business card" will be presented to the Portal when deployed - saying "hello, I'm a Portal application
    and this is what I have inside".
    You can learn more about this XML file here:
    [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/489e2df5ee4e35e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm]
    Hope this helps you.
    Good Luck!

  • Oc4j class-loading-heirarchy - enabling "search-local-classes-first" option

    Guys,
    I need some assistance with regards to oc4j class-loading hierarchy. Would appreciate some feedback on this...
    Let me give you a bit of context first.
    Basically we have 3 war modules which we initially were deployed separately on oc4j (transparently deployed by oc4j as ear). Now all of a sudden we have come to the need of instead bundling all the wars in one ear. The problem i started seeing is with respect to the output logs for the application, which was one per war modules initially (this was not clutter everything in one single log file and instead have one per deploy-able unit). The way this was implemented is that we had a log4j.properties bundled with each war with the output-file configuration, and since these 3 wars were deployed separately, the ear class-loader for each application would find one log4j.properties within each, and hence output-logs were generated as expected.
    BUT now all of a sudden as we have changed the whole deployment structure, i.e. one EAR, all the application log-outputs are going to one single log file (instead of one for each war). My immediate impression was setting the "search-local-classes-first" would resolve this issue, since then the "web-module-class-loader" (one for each war) would come into play (which i believe doesn't otherwise) and would load/search for the resources/classes first (log4j.properties in our case) from the web-module (both in WEB-INF/lib and WEB-INF/classes folder) and if not found, only then it would give the job to the parent class-loader, which would be the ear-class-loader. But it doesnt seem like its working like that, since even after enabling this option, all logs are going to one log-output file, based on whichever war-module/log4j.properties is loaded first.
    Thanks in advance and Regards,
    Farhan.

    Guys, i need some input here....
    I turned on the class-loading trace and found out as to what is going on...but still wondering as to whats the reason for this behavior...
    So basically browsing through the trace, gave me the following important segments (as below with my comments)....
    1) Firstly, as the class-loading trace below, the log4j.jar is loaded up from the ear/lib directory (and hence by the ear-class-loader) and as it says the one in the web-inf/lib is ignored....Wonder why it picks up the one from ear/lib directory WHEN i have set the search-local-classes-first to "true", isn't the very purpose of the attribute to delegate the class-loading to the parent class-loader IFF the same is not found locally...
    Code-source /oracle_apps/j2ee/portal/applications/wes-ear/wes-wicket-1.3.X-SNAPSHOT/WEB-INF/lib/log4j-1.2.15.jar (from WEB-INF/lib/ directory in /oracle_apps/j2ee/portal/applications/wes-ear/wes-wicket-1.3.X-SNAPSHOT/WEB-INF/lib)
    has been ignored. It is a copy of /oracle_apps/j2ee/portal/applications/wes-ear/lib/log4j-1.2.15.jar (from application.xml <library-directory> in /oracle_apps/j2ee/portal/applications/wes-ear/lib), which is already visible in the search path of
    loader wes-ear.web.wes-wicket-1.3.X-SNAPSHOT:0.0.0. 2) Now on the other hand as you would see from the log-excerpts below, the log4j.properties resource file (with the log-output-file-name and all) is picked up from the very web-module class-loader, but as you would notice further, the log4j classes are initialized by the ear-loader itself with which the log4j classes are visible to all the other war-modules and hence don't even require re-initializing the log4j.properties...

  • XSLT Mapping with Java class not working in Integration Repository

    Hi,
    I have an XSLT mapping program with Java enhancement and I was able to successfully tested it in Stylus Studio. However, when I imported the Java class and the xslt program in Enterprise Service Builder and tested it, my program does not compile.
    Here is the error message: "Transformer Configuration Exception occurred when loading XSLT mapping_temp.xsl; details: Could not compile stylesheet".
    My java program is in a zip file containing SOAPHeaderHandler.java and SOAPHeaderhandler.class. My Java has a package com.nga.xslt.
    Here is the declaration of my Java class in the XSLT: xmlns:javamap="java:com.nga.xslt.SOAPHeaderHandler"
    It seems that it could not read the java class. Can you please advice what is wrong?

    Hi ,
    select XMLTOOLKIT option in Operation mapping and execute it.
    I am not sure we can call java program in XSLT Program,but alternative is copy the code and use it in XSLT mapping it self,that means your XSLT program will become with JAVA extensions.
    then in Operation mapping level select SAPXMLTOOL kit option and execute it. i hope it will work. if it is not working then you have deploy some JAXP files on server,because the way execution of XSLT Mpaping program got changed,like when eve you executing XSLT with extnasions( if you are not using XMLTOOL kit option) then you have to use latest version of JAXP.JDK files.

    I am new to the E-BusinessSuite and I want to develop a Portal with Java Portlets which display and write data from some E-Business databases (e.g. Customer Relationship Management or Human Resource). These data have been defined in the TCA (Trading Community Architecture) data model. I can access this data with PL/SQL API's. The next problem is how to get the data in the Java class. So, how do you call a PL/SQL procedure from a Java program?
    Can anyone let me know how to solve that problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Chang Si Chou

    Have a look at this example:
    final ApplicationModule am = panelBinding.getApplicationModule();
    try
         final CallableStatement stmt = ((DBTransaction)am.getTransaction()).
                                                                                         createCallableStatement("{? = call some_pck.some_function(?, ?)}", 10);
         stmt.registerOutParameter(1, OracleTypes.VARCHAR);
         stmt.setInt(2, ((oracle.jbo.domain.Number)key.getAttribute(0)).intValue());
         stmt.setString(3, "Test");
         stmt.execute();
         stmt.close();
         return stmt.getString(1);
    catch (Exception ex)
         panelBinding.reportException(ex);
         return null;
    }Hope This Helps

  • Unable to load mySql Driver in Java class invoked using bpelx:exec

    Hi ,
    I am trying to connect to mysql database in my java class.when i run this class in Jdeveloper it loads the driver without any problem.I can chk the log in the Jdev messages area.Now I am invoking this class from the BPEL process through <bpelx activity.But when i run my BPEL process it throws runtime exception "classNotFoundException:unable to load com.mysql.jdbc.Driver".I have set the project properties ->libraries to the class path of the mysql jar file as well.
    Now if i try to connect with the Oracle driver then it is working fine.
    I know this is a classpath issue.Can anyone tell me if there are some other settings to make it work fine.
    the java code :
    System.out.println("in getConnection method");
    Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();
    System.out.println("loaded Driver :");
    String url="jdbc:mysql://ntlv014:3306/wx";
    _jdbcConnection = DriverManager.getConnection(url,"development","ber1nger");
    System.out.println("Got Connection :"+_jdbcConnection.isClosed());

    I think you have 2 options..
    either put the jar for the mysql in the classpath on the server...or try something like this :
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=17&threadID=633158
    try to put the jar of the mysql into the suitecase of the bpel.
    never seen this coming around...so..it's just a wild guess.
    ORABPEL-11622 Could not create/access the TopLink Session
    spendem got the same situation...the puts the libraries in the applib-dir
