Java Database User Role Privileges Framework

Hello
I am looking Java Framework which automatic generates Java Code for
Database User Role Privileges Administration.
Like in database we have a table of Users
Now we have table of Author, Book etc. (Related to Library)
Now i want to give insert permission to user1
update and delete permission to user2 etc.
Is there any framework related
Remeber i do not need User Role Privileges in database.
I need a framework to do this job.
Thanks in Advance.

There are tables created under the SAPSR3DB or SAP<SID>DB schema with extension .UME, such as SAPSR3DB.UME.ACL_ACL or SAPSR3DB.UME_ACL_ACLENTRY for AS-JAVA.
There are other tables with the UME extension too.

Anwar

  • Multiple database users, ORM, entity framework, best practices

    Hello everyone!
You've already helped me several times, however I must ask for an advice once more.
I was assigned to develop .NET application with Data Access Layer and I've decided to use Oracle Database Software to provide sample data.
As I'm absolute novice considering creating DAL I'd be grateful if you can examine my plan in terms of security and reliability:
    My database:
    1) I've created database with sample tables and relations between them. All tables belongs to databaseAdmin.
    2) I've created HR and Manager database users and granted them some privileges on certain databaseAdmin's tables. My intention is to reduce access to unnecessary tables. If my application user want to make some changes to Customers table it should be enough to connect to database as HR.
And now I'd like to map my database using Entity Framework in my application. And that's where I have a problem:
-If I create Entity Model basing on databaseAdmin tables I get perfect model, however every Entity SQL query would be executed on behalf of databaseAdmin, which breaks my idea of hiding unnecessary tables.
-If I create Entity Model for HR and Manager users, my models could overlap on tables that both users have access to and no connection between tables would be generated (as from their point of view those tables are just some tables that belong to databaseAdmin)
Could you help me with this deadlock? Or maybe my assumptions about multiple database users are incorrect? Please, bear in mind I'm a novice.
I was trying to find a solution in web, and there're tons of data discussing technical aspects of Entity Framework etc., but not so many documents about conceptual model of database.

    hi Michael,
    Thanks for you posting!
Sorry for I am not totally understanding your issue. Maybe two points need your confirm:
    1. I confuse with the "Service controller"? IS your meaning MVC controller? Or ServiceController(http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/31688/Using-the-ServiceController-in-C-to-stop-and-start
2.whether  The type of ID in the model is match to the database ? In other words, Is the type of IDin .edmx matched to the database?
By the way, it seems that this issue is more related to EF. You could post this issue on EF discussion for better support.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Will

  • SSO and how to Managing User Roles/Privileges with Forms using Oracle db

We are in the process of implementing Oracle Application Server SSO with our custom Forms application using Oracle database -- all 10.2.0.1.0 version.
In our Forms Applications, we have about a dozen roles we have assigned to various users. We need to identify each user using our Forms because we are using the GLOBAL USER throughout the application.
    Questions:
-- Do we have to create users/passwords in both OID and application database?
-- Is there a way to easily manage the user and passwords between SSO and Forms App/database in one place? For example, how does a user change their password once, but actually change it in both the database and SSO?
Any advice and/or direction would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Mika

Yes, you can have global roles in the DB and assign this roles to specific OID users, and the will heritage the privilages, you can do this using Oracle Identity Management Web Tool http://hostname:7777/oiddas is not complicated.
    Greetings.

  • Copy user roles/profiles : Su01

    Hello,
I want to copy user roles /privileges from one user to other?
how do we do this and which user can do this ? my pisuper does not seem to have authority to copy user profiles from one user to other?
    Thanks

Try to Copy the user(Src user to Target user) from SU01 by logging in your user. When it displays authorization error, open a new Session  of SU53. It will tell you the missing authorization  objects. Add those authorizations to your user & you will be able to copy Users using ur userid.
If you want to keep it simple.. Give yourselves SAP_All. You can do whatever you want.

  • Database Error (maybe) while working on User-Role or Assiging a Cloud (Unable to connect to the VMM database because of a general database failure)

    Hi,
Suddenly I got this error in SCVMM 2012-R2 Roll-up 1:
When working with User-Roles (create/update) or assigning a Cloud :
"VMM encountered a critical exception and created an exception report....
search user forums for well-known failure root causes for self-help" (how sweet)... (if it's "well known", why not coding the exception handling correctly?)
The relevant part of the report might be this:
    "SCVMM Version=3.2.7620.0
    SCVMM flavor=C-buddy-RTL-AMD64
    Default Assembly Version=3.2.7620.0
    Executable Name=vmmservice.exe

    Base Exception Method Name=System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError
Exception Message=Unable to connect to the VMM database because of a general database failure.
Ensure that the SQL Server is running and configured correctly, then try the operation again."
(side question: what does this mean: "Ensure that the SQL Server is ... configured correctly"?
    I can say that :
SQL is configured by the book, that all services are running (did a reboot of VMM server too) and that all other VMM functions work OK. I don't believe that SQL is only used for user-roles...
Acting as Domain admin and VMM admin.
    All updates are installed.
Please find the report @the and and a screen shot attached.
    Thanks for any help.

    Thomas.

I (quite honestly) am one of those folks that generally do not read the KB articles associated with a patch or UR or SP - as you don't expect details like have been put into this particular one.
But as Kristian pointed out - within that KB article is the SQL script that modifies / updates this SQL Stored Procedure.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/scvmm/archive/2014/01/29/how-to-update-scvmm-2012-r2-to-update-rollup-1.aspx
Needless to say, the feedback was given to MSFT that folks would overlook that this SQL script needed to be run.  So we are just trying to help out.

  • Modify Script to Create User Role on Single Database.

    Hi All,
Below is the script to create user role on database. Here problem is when I execute this script, it creates user role for all database within an instance and I want it to create user role only on 2 database say TEST1 and TEST2
Can anyone help me to modify the script?
    --===================================================================================
    -- Description
    -- Database Type: MSSQL
-- This script creates a role called 'gdmmonitor' for ALL databases.
-- It grants some system catalogs to this role to allow Classification and Assessment on the database.
-- It then adds a user called "sqlguard" to all databases and grants this user gdmmonitor role.
    -- before runnign this script
--  you MUST CREATE A SQL LOGIN CALLED 'sqlguard'
--  This sqlguard login doesn't need to be added to any database or given
--  any privilege.  The script will take care of that.
    --  Note:
--   If you wish to use a different login name (instead of 'sqlguard') you need to change
    --   the value of the variable '@Guardium_user' in the script below;
--   (Look for the string: "set @Guardium_user = 'sqlguard'" and replace the 'sqlguard')
    -- after runnign this script
-- Nothing to do, the script already creates the db user
    -- User/Password to use
-- User: sqlguard (or any other name, if changed)
    -- Pass: user defined
    -- Role: gdmmonitor

  • Group, Users, Roles framework - book or article??

Can anyone refer to me a good book or article on designing a framework to handle groups, users, roles, rights, permissions, etc.. for a software system, including database tables. I have a rough idea but would like more guidance.?
    thanks

http://www.martinfowler.com/apsupp/roles.pdfI'd say that doesn't count either.
Specifically, consider these two (very common) requirements:
    1. Remember My Login
    2. Display this part of my web page only if I'm a member of this site.
By now, I'd expect platform support...

  • ORASSO database user privileges

    Hi-
We are using 10G SSO, in the OID database DBA role is assigned to ORASSO user.
I am unable to find that why do we require DBA role for this user, can we revoke DBA role from ORASSO?
    Regards

    Hio Srini,
Thanks for your feedback. We are using Discoverer 11g on a 10g database. OS on client machine running Discoverer Desktop is Windows xp and im pretty sure its solaris on the box.
The eulowner user is indeed a database account and was specifically created to create the eul with. Therefore with this in mind, i created a new database user with resource and connect privs. Once this was created i navigated to Discoverer Administrator expecting to see the user within the dropdown menu under tool > priviledges, but the new user namely disco_user is not appearing in the lsit for selection.
    I'm wondering if this eul was created as an apps mode eul, would this determine whether standard database users are able to be selected in this mode? The full error message when logging into Discoverer Desktop is;
unable to connect to: disco_user@db you do not have access priviledges to any end user layer tables.
This message appears does apear quite rightly as i have found before when no priviledges have been assigned to the user in admin, but without the ability to select the user from the dropdown list, im unable to grant these.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. I appreciate your help.

  • User Role problems in Sun Java Application Server Platform Edition 8

I am having two problems setting up user roles in Sun Java Application Server Platform Edition 8. At first, I thought that it was a problem with the higher level features that I was using, so I created a very simple example using the simplest authentication I can use, but the problem still occurs. I am using the file realm and configuring the users in the App Server Admin Console. I create 2 users in different roles. One user should have access, the other should not.
    1) The first problem is that both users can access the page
    2) The second problem is that the isUserInRole() method returns false for both users with the role that it should be authenticating against.
Here is a sample of my code:
    Users Configured in Console:
    username password roles
    user1 ********** admin
    user2 ********** noaccess
    web.xml

Thanks before hand for any responses.

    Hi Jeanfrancois,
Your suggestion has lead me to find my problem. There were actually three problems.
    1) First, you suggestion to reorder my xml file did not cause any errors to occur. I got suspicious that my web.xml file was wrong. I looked at some sample web-xml files and found that I was missing the header as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC '-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN' 'http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd'>
    2) When I added this information, the deploy feature failed stating the my web.xml file was out of order. I fixed the ordering. It now deployed, but the security still wasn't working.
    3) I then added the sun-web.xml file. This file was missing before hand as I thought it was unnessary. However, this file added the essential mapping from a role to a group. After adding this, it now started to work.
Thanks so much for you time and effort. You really did help me.

  • Unable to authorize user using AccessControlService and user.roles and user.privileges are not set properly

    Hi,
I am trying to enable/disable a feature based on user.roles.
Added a constraint for that feature as below,
        <adfmf:constraints>
          <adfmf:constraint property="user.roles" operator="contains" value="manager" id="c1"/>
        </adfmf:constraints>
In this case, Users have manager role should be able to access this feature.
    My AccessControlService response is
    {"userId" : "sales_mgr","roles" : [ "manager","MOO_OPPORTUNITY_SALES_MANAGER_DUTY","ZBS_ENT_SALES_MANAGER_DUTY"],"privileges" : [ "managerPriv","ZSF_DEFINE_SALES_FORECAST_PRIV","MOO_MANAGE_OPPORTUNITY_GROUP_SPACE_PRIV"]}
Repsonse has "manager" as one such role.
After adding constraint to the feature, am unable to access it.
I tried many possibilities like  operator="contains" or "not" or "equal", but no use.
I don't know what is going wrong. Appreciate you help.
    Thanks.

If you are on 11.5.10 or greater or standalone 2.6.4 if you pass the responder value to wf_notification.respond API it should be updated in wf_notifications.responder column. The comments is now updated in wf_comments table against the notification id and not wf_notifications.user_comment column.
    Thanks, Vijay

  • Can't inherit role privileges to user accounts in targets.

    Hello,
We have the role MXGR0001 and it has a privilege associated (PRIV:GROUP:AD:CN=UMonterrey,OU=Security,OU=Groups,OU=Monterrey,OU=Mexico,DC=mabenet,DC=corpmabe,DC=com)
as is indicated on u201CMember Privilegesu201D tab. When we see the privilege properties, it says the role is a member from this privilege.
In the u201CTasksu201D tab of the privilege, we have associated a task in the part of u201CProvisioning Tasku201D, our task is u201CCreateADSUseru201D, the reason of this association was because at the moment of the assignation of the role, the task associated to the privilege could be executed and the privilege could be associated to the user.
Note: The Active Directory user has static values just to see the association with the privilege.
For example, we wanted to associate the user 1000611 with the role MXGR0001, it works fine, but when I look for the created user in Active Directory in the tab "Member of" of my user, the privilege is not associated. Do you know why this is happening? or do you know how to associate privilege to an Active Directory User from the Identity Center, which are the fields or tasks that I need to change into the Privilege or Role?
I hope you could help me with this!
    Regards!

That's a bit unusual, and perhaps if you start the computer from the OS X

Sometimes, just starting in SafeBoot, then 'repair disk permissions' from

choose Utilities folder; find Disk Utility; launch) and when it is done,
quit Disk Utility and restart and allow the computer to boot normally.
This may resolve the user account issue; or it may not.
See various instructions (can be used outside of context)
"Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance
with Disk Utility and fsck" - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417
In a worse-case scenario, an "archive & install" and update may be
required, if an issue cannot be resolved through other means. More
would need to be known about the machine, its use & status before
suggesting any one course of action. There may be something else
    behind the symptom you described.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • New HTMLDB User - Want to authenticate against a database user

Greetings... I would like to authenticate a user sign-in/logon screen against database users setup in the database. It appears to me that DAD might do this, but I'm a bit fuzzy on how to make it work. I looked in some of the FAQ's here and can't seem to find something that tells me how to do this. I'd be thankful for any help you can give this old DBA who's stepping into HTMLDB Development.
(Love the product so far by the way!)
    Robert

Robert - It depends on what your aim is, but one way to do it is to create a new DAD without a username or password in the connect info. This will require users to respond to the basic authentication challenge allowing those who have database accounts to authenticate to your application.
Regardless of which database account is used to authenticate, keep in mind that all SQL and PL/SQL in the application executes as the schema designated as the application's "owner" or parsing schema, so the identity of the authenticated user with respect to database roles and privileges plays no part unless you actively use the session's USER value in VPD/RLS, for example.
