Java Function result.addValue(newValue)?

Hi All,
         Could you tell me what this function does?
result.addValue(newValue);
Regards,
XIer

Xier,
Consider the below example
My input xml looks like
<Record>
<row>
<Value>1</Value>
</row>
<row>
<Value>1</Value>
</row>
<row>
<Value>1</Value>
</row>
<row>
<Value>3</Value>
</row>
<row>
<Value>5</Value>
</row>
<row>
<Value>44</Value>
</row>
<row>
<Value>55</Value>
</row>
<row>
<Value>66</Value>
</row>
Then if you want to take all the values of element <Value> ,then
u must write,
for (int j =0;j<input.length;j++)
<b>result.addValue(input[j]) ;</b>
So the above UDF will add all the Value element into single queue as below picture.

If it's not clear, reply back.

  • Message Mapping:: Java Function issue

    we have PI7.1 SPS 07 & JDK version as JDK15.
    I am using following program to calculate the Total of payments ( Put constants so it would be easy for others to test in their ESR )-->
    BigDecimal sum = new BigDecimal("0.00");
    BigDecimal bd = new BigDecimal("144.44");
    BigDecimal hund = new BigDecimal("100");
    for(int i=0;i<3028;i++)
    sum = sum.add(bd);
    //sum=sum.divide(hund);
    String res=sum.toString();
    result.addValue(res);
    (Expression) 3028 * 144.44 = (CalculatorResult)437364.32 -
    (PI Code result)437364.30
    (Expression) 947 * 144.44     = (CalculatorResult)136784.69 -
    (PI Code result) 136784.68
    With numbers like 1347, 1047 etc I got difference of 1 Cent ( so like to call them as Magic numbers here). But numbers like 1119, 3026, 3027, 3028, 1100 etc give correct results.
    One of my friend executed the same code in his Java environment & got correct results with magic numbers too with no 1 cent of difference.
    Can you pls. test the same code in your environment & share the result and if it provides correct result then pls. share version of your JAVA environment too.
    Thanks
    Lalit

    Sarvesh
    I have to use the ADD function only, as I need to sum the payments made in whole context & queues.
    I left the "hund" variable because I even tested following -->
    Multiplied the number by 100 to remove the decimal places
    Add them together "magic number" times
    Multiplied result with 100
    But still got the difference of 1 cent.
    I will appreciate if you can execute the code given by me in you environment, you have to import java.math.BigDecimal

  • How to create context break in adavanced java function

    I have an array with result list. I'm using result.addValue to collect my result.
    ex:
    00001 213243
    00001 214445
    00003 324543
    00004 456767
    I want to introduce (context) split based on another logic and be able see this result which has context break based on the line number in my far left. Is this possible?
    00001 213243
    00001 214445
    00003 324543
    00004 456767

    Hi Parimala,
    You can use
    result.addValue(ResultList.CC);
    in your java code to insert a context change.
    You use this statement insided your code whenever you want to insert a context change based on the logic.

Any info is highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Try this.
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <xsl:transform version="1.0" xmlns:fn="com.my.utils" >

    as long as your code is in the classpath it should find it.

  • Java functions with Oracle 10g

    I have browsed through other related message threads on this forum and it seems that the general recommendation is to develop stored procedures and functions using PL/SQL.
    I need to implement a set of functions that perform date related processing and are self contained (no SQL code or calls). For this I could reuse some Java methods that I have successfully used in an Apache Derby database. In this situation what is your experience related to performance of Java functions compared to PL/SQL? Does the effort of rewriting this code in PL/SQL make sense?

    I made some changes on the class posted by to solve the encoding problems with CLOBs.
    So here is the result of my job.

  • Calling a java function from xquery

    Hello,
    I'm pretty new to ODSI and xquery, so forgive me if what I'm asking is too trivial, but I need to find a way to call a java function from inside xquery. I know xquery can do this through external functions, but can't find any example on how the query prolog declaration should be, nor how the function should look like. Could someone enlighten me?
    Thanks,
    Pedro Ivo

    You can do this 2 ways that I know of (Mike probably has more ideas too)
    1. Register an inversion function:
    [How to use an inversion function|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13167_01/aldsp/docs32/dsp32wiki/Using%20Inverse%20Functions%20to%20Improve%20Query%20Performance.html]
    2. Create a physical data service based on a java function. I have used this approach for both custom JDBC database operations and straight Java processing, with pretty good results.
    Good luck,
    Jeff

  • Is it possible to call Java functions from XSLT, using standard Java 6?

    I have seen examples, but the examples are always the most simple case, which even I can already get working. The case where no arguments are passed to the java function.
    As soon as I try to pass an argument to the java function, i get a stupid unhelpful error message (as always error messages are unhelpful).
    Or am I wasting my time using the standard provided java parser, and need to use apache or something?
    anyone who can provide me with a couple lines of working code is to me a saint!
    At the moment I am using calling a named template, and passing a param into this.
    I want to use this param as an argument in the Java function.
    Is this possible?
    example code:
         <xsl:template name="calc-age">
              <xsl:param name="dob"/>
         <xsl:variable name="sdob" select="java:lang.String.new($dob)"/>
         <xsl:value-of select="java:toString($sdob)"/>
         </xsl:template>

    I have fixed it.
    I had to call an xslt 1 function 'string' on the variable before passing it into the java function (see below).
         <xsl:template name="calc-age">
              <xsl:param name="dob"/>
              I know that the value of the param is: <xsl:value-of select="$dob"/><br/>
             <xsl:variable name="poo" select="$dob"/>
             <xsl:variable name="sdob" select="java:lang.String.new(string($poo))"/>
             And here again, we try to print a variable<xsl:value-of select="$poo"/>                <br/>
             And here again, we try to print the result of the java call<xsl:value-of select="java:toString($sdob)"/>      <br/>
             and here is our variable sdob    <xsl:value-of select="$sdob"/>
         </xsl:template>          Now this is APPARENTLY a xslt-1 function,
    but the reference I had been using for this is
    http://www.w3schools.com/xpath/xpath_functions.asp it is linked to by a reference that calls these xslt-2 functions.
    Maybe they are mixed xslt-1 and xslt-2 functions?
    How am I supposed to know?
    Where is a good (plain and simple, easy to read) reference for xsl, so i know which functions are which?
    Anyone got a good answer to that question?

  • Is it possible to call a java function from plsql?

    I have a plsql script which loads data in to a table. One of the fields is a notes field. I would like to use advance offerings of java to manipulate the data before inserting. Is there away I can pass the data to a java function and have it return the manipulated data?
    Thanks
    Aaron

    You can use java stored procedure to call java function from plsql.
    1. Create a java class with a static function(which will be called from plsql).
    2. Compile and load the class into database using LOADJAVA command.
    3. Create a wrapper stored procedure or function in plsql which calls the above java function.
    4. Access this plsql procedure like normal database procedure. This will invoke underlying java function in which you can do all the processing and return result.
    Refer this url for help on implementing above steps :

As I said, the old value isn't really there because I changed the list values to new ones. But the new value (the value of fSetorOrigem ) corresponds to a value that exist in the new list items, so a valid value. So JSF is not considering that I also changed the list, not just the value. It is comparing the new value with the old list, not the new one. Acting like this JSF is making the page looks like a static HTML page, not a dynamic one. If I can't change the list and the value, what's the point of that? In my point of view I'm not doing anything wrong, I'm not violating any JSF rules.

  • Problem java function

    Hello guys,
    I've done a java function to handle the fact that i move the decimal of a number to 2 instead of 3, 4, 5 or else.
    For exemple, if i have in input the field 159, 7934 then i should have in output 159,79.
    My problem is that it rounds the number !! So i have in output 159,8 !
    Here's my function :
    // Round the given input value to given number of decimals
    // The result will be a floating point number (not integer value)
    String zeroes = "00000000000000";
    String numDec = numDecimals;
    // To prevent a Divide by zero error default to 1 which would lead to a No-op
    if (numDec.equals("") || numDec.equals("0"))
      numDec = "0";
    String strFactor = "1" + zeroes.substring(0, Integer.parseInt(numDec));
    int intFactor = Integer.parseInt(strFactor);
    float i =Float.parseFloat(inputValue);
    i = Math.round(i*intFactor);
    i = i/intFactor;
    return Float.toString(i);
    Like you see, i'm putting in string format for the output because i am using a replacestring after in order to suppress the '.'
    I think the problem come from that.
    The solution would be to suppress the '.' in my UDF but i don't know how to code it in java.
    Is someone knows please ?
    Thanks by advance,
    JP

    Ok my UDF is now :
    // Round the given input value to given number of decimals
    // The result will be a floating point number (not integer value)
    String zeroes = "00000000000000";
    String numDec = numDecimals;
    // To prevent a Divide by zero error default to 1 which would lead to a No-op
    if (numDec.equals("") || numDec.equals("0"))
      numDec = "0";
    //String strFactor = "1" + zeroes.substring(0, Integer.parseInt(numDec));
    //int intFactor = Integer.parseInt(strFactor);
    double i =Double.parseDouble(inputValue);
    NumberFormat nf = NumberFormat.getNumberInstance();
    nf.setMaximumFractionDigits(2);
    String n = nf.format(i);
    return n ;
    BUT, when i put 2 digits, it still "rounding" my number even if i use a double or a float !
    Nevertheless, when i want 3 digits, it still "rounding" !
    Is it impossible to avoid the "round machine ?"

  • CallableStatement,  how to get function result ?

    Hello all,
    I know that this issue more relevant to JDBC, but it seems that their forum is more "sleepy" than that one therefor i trying my luck here with you...
    I've a pl/sql function which get 2 int arguments, and return float result
    I use CallableStatement in order to execute pl/sql function.
    with CallableStatement.setInt i transfer argument to the function,
    but i dont know how to "catch" function result (as i said earlier, function results is float)
    any help here...
    Thanks

    that's exactly what i did, but my teacher assistant told me that it's wrong, because CallableStatement uses for stored Procedures, but I have here a function (because it returns a value...) therefor i need to use PrepareStatment/Statement...Third person accounts are always hard to judge, but what you are claiming is wrong (whether the TA said it or not.)
    First a prepared statement can in fact be used to run either a proc or function. So can statement for that matter.
    However callable statement is provided as a convenience to run procs and functions.
    There can however be reasons why a driver doesn't allow that - I have used a driver that didn't support callable statements at all (procs or functions.)
    That said the the format I gave you is specifically modeled for functions.

  • How to use standard java functions in a XSLT mapping

    Hi All,
    I wish to use a standard java function in a XSLT mapping, The issue is either i am giving incorrect namespace which is used to invoke the function or the signature of the function call is incorrect, I have read all the links in http://help.sap.com, and i know <b> one can enhance a XSLT mapping by writing one's own java code and thereby using java standard functions </b>, but the requirement is such that i need to try and use java standard function in XSLT mapping itself.
    Please refer to the sample code below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
      <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
        xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"

    <xsl:value-of select="javamap:toUpperCase($input)"/>
    </xsl:if>
    Author:<xsl:value-of select="Author"/>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    error encountered is: Illegal number or type of arguments.
    please reply if you have tried a similar scenario in SAP XI.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Varun

    Hi Varun,
        First of all i want to tell you that as per the documentation you can only call the static function inside xslt mapping. Your toUpperCase method is a non static function.
    What i am getting is that you have an element called Author and you want to convert its value into uppercase.
    you can write your own user defined function which is static.
    Signature of your java method :
    public static string toUpperCase(String Author,Map inputparam)
    try this xslt map.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="2.0"
    xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
    xmlns:javamap="java:JavaProgram">
         <xsl:output method="xml" version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes"/>
         <xsl:param name="Author">
                 <xsl:value-of select="//Author_name"/>
         </xsl:param>
         <xsl:param name="inputparam" />
         <xsl:template match="/">
         <Author>
                 <xsl:if test="function-available('javamap:toUpperCase')">
                  <xsl:value-of select="javamap:toUpperCase($Author,$inputparam)"/>
                 </xsl:if>
         </Author>
         </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    Hope this will work.

  • How can I use Seeburger java functions on SAP XI's user defined functions?

    Hi All,
    As my title implies; how can I use Seeburger java functions on SAP XI's user defined functions?  I've tried searching over the net in tutorials regarding this topic but I failed to find one; can someone provide me information regarding my question? thanks very much.
    best regards,
    Mike

    Hi Mike !
    You should check your documentation about which java classes you need to reference in the "import" section of your UDF. And also deploy the java classes into the java stack or include them as a imported archive in integration repository...it should be stated in the seeburger documentation.
    What kind of functions are you trying to use?
    Regards,
    Matias.

    This is my html.
    I got this from this forum only.
    My applet is accessing the system property "user.home".
    I ran it in IE
    <DIV id="dvObjectHolder">Applet comes here</DIV>
