Java Script doesn't work on Firefox 8?
I have noticed that (some) Java Script does not work on Firefox 8.0. Is there a correction for this?
Yep, go back to what works, appears to be the only real solution. But then you'd hardly be able to use Firefox as nothing is going to get fixed there only get broken.
What does not work is
# move, and resize of main window not allowed
# that include wiping out a lot of keyword shortcuts that do that
# various additional collateral damage
The solutions (work arounds) that I can best offer are clumsy but can be found in

Java 1.4.2 Plugin doesn't work on Netscape 7.1 on Linux
Hi,
When I run the Java 1.4.2 plugin on Red Hat Linux 7.3, I get the following error when Netscape starts up:
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: No manager for initializing factory?
System error?:: Success
After that Netscape just quits. If I remove libjavaplugin_oji.so, then Netscape starts fine but doesn't have Java. Netscape 7.1 doesn't work with Java 1.4.1_03 on Linux either.
Netscape 7.02 does work with both versions of the Java plugin on Linux. Has anyone gotten Netscape 7.1 running with Java? Does anyone have suggestions?
Thanks!
MarvinIt didn't work for me .... The applet started then netscape came back to the prompt with the following error. (System is Suse Linux 9.1 and Netscape is 7.2) Any Ideas??
I am also listing the sybolic link to the jre.

I need F5 Networks Host PlugIn for a Work application to load. Any ideas when this will be available for Firefox 4 or any ideas on a fix?????
I got it to work by installing the Add-on Compatibility Reporter add-on:

Java plugin doesn't work, even though it's installed correctly and java programs work.
As stated. I have a link in ~/.mozilla/plugin that points to test/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so, which is the java 6 update 21 runtime environment.
Java doesn't show in about:plugins, and java applets don't start (firefox suggests to install missing plugins).
Java programs using the jre outside the browser work.
This is on Linux 32-bits, Slackware 13.0, kernel 2.6.34.<blockquote>As stated. I have a link in ~/.mozilla/plugin that points to test/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so, which is the java 6 update 21 runtime environment.

Where did you read that?<br />
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Java<br />
In Firefox 3.6 and later versions you need the Next-Generation Java™ Plug-In present in Java 6 U10 and later (Linux: libnpjp2.so; Windows: npjp2.dll).

Google Earth plugin always says "There was a problem with the Google Earth Plugin. Please try reloading the page. If that doesn't help, you can re-install the Google Earth Plugin using this link." However, other browsers such as Google Chrome does not display that kind of problem.
Firefox version: 36.0.04Contrary to how it may look, this is an issue with the Google Earth Plugin and not with FireFox. This support forum is for questions related to the products listed on the main support page directly only. As such this question is off topic for this forum.
However, I reccomend openening a thread on the Google Earth plugin forum at https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!categories/earth/problems-and-errors
Annecdotally, the plugin works fine for me under Firefox 36.0.04 and does not work for many Chrome users posting to the forum I linked to above. -

Java works in Internet Explorer but doesn't work in FireFox.
My installed Java-related programs are:
Java 7 Update 11
Java 7 Update 11 (64-bit)
Java SE Development Kit 7 Update 11
Java SE Development Kit 7 Update 11 (64-bit)
I don't have JavaFX or anything else. I need both kits for Eclipse and other things.Quote: ''PS Java is obviously working as I visit a site that blocks use of "right mouse click" and that is fine.''
To avoid confusion:

Java Plugin won't work in Netscape 7.1
I'm using Windows XP Home with Netscape 7.1, and the Java plugin won't work.
Java Plug-in 1.4.2_05 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper) is listed 7 times in Help>About:Plugins;
The Java Plugin works in Internet Explorer (I use the Test Java Virtual Machine to determine this). With Netscape, I just get the "Click here to get the plugin" window, and believe me, I've clicked here many times, and gone through the installation process, and it still doesn't work. I've uninstalled Java, rebooted, and installed it with the browsers closed, and it still doesn't work. Everything else in Netscape seems to be working properly.
Under Edit>Preferences>Advanced in Netscape I have "Enable Java" checked.
I posted this problem in the Windows-BBS Netscape and Mozilla forum, http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=33994, and tried everything suggested there, but it still didn't work.
Anybody have any suggestions?I was facing a similar problem. I think the problem is with different versions of JRE. For example, I was trying to associate with Netscape the JRE version of 1.4.2_01 without any success. But on associating jdk version 1.4.2_05, it started working fine.

XML Changer doesn't work in Firefox works in Internet Explorer
Hi
Can anyone help me i have a XML Changer doesn't work in Firefox works in Internet Explorer.
I have posted the page here http://www.endeavourcfl.co.nz/Venues.html as you can see my other flash files work fine, it is only the XML Changer (no pictures appear at all), it was working previously but for some reason it has stopped have tried on many computers, all plugins are up to date and i have FF versions 16 and 17Its working fin in latest version of Firefox. <br>
Update your Firefox <br>
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
<br><br><br>
Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the [http://mozilla.com/plugincheck Mozilla Plugin Check site].
Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow ''Update'' button or a red ''Update now'' button, please update these immediately.
To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure. -
Firefox told me for safety reasons I needed to update the OS on my Mac which I did.
Now You Tube doesn't work in Firefox (though it does in other browsers)
On line I have have found an add-on which claims to fix the problem, but it comes with warnings that there might be safety issues. (Author not verified)
My OS system is up to date, as is Firefox.
Shall I just use another browser?Try to update the Flash player.

I have updated firefox to 4.0.1, but the realplayer plugin doesn't work (the tab to dl doesn't appear and right-clicking reveals no dl option like it should either).
I have IE 9 too and the same videos tried in FF can be dl'd there but not with the new FF4, and i've checked the plugin against this page: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using%20the%20RealPlayer%20plugin%20with%20Firefox#os=win&browser=fx4, but it's exactly as it says it should be, but there is not dl tab appearing like normal.
I have also tried updating to the latest realplayer and there's no difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)Restart your phone by holding the power and home button until the Apple logo appears. Be aware that some owners of iPhone 4 have had difficulty using WIFI after the upgrade.

Middle mouse button doesn't work in Firefox
On my Lenovo Thinkpad the middle mouse button, that scrolls a web page up and down, doesn't work in Firefox only. In all other programs (including IE) the scroll function of the trackpoint middle button works fine, but in Firefox not at all. One solution described at Firefox is to edit a pref for a "ui.trackpoint_hackenabled" parameter, and I did change that value to 1, and restarted Firefox, but NO luck.
I'm using 4.0.1.Nobody got any insights?

I am using Thinkpad laser mouse (bluetooth). The wheel works for msn, IE etc, but doesn't work for Firefox.
I have checked with agent via live chat. None of the configuration regarding mousewheel is bold (under about:config), but then there was some problem with internet...
What should I do? Thanks for the kind help!Uninstall the "mouse suite". Worked for me.

Air browser: djvu plugin doesn't work
Hello,
I am building a custom air browser for my company using the HTML component.
It's working great in general but my company makes extensive use of the djvu technology for online image viewing.
Problem: the djvu plugin doesn't work on the air browser. After installing the last version (6.1.4) of the plugin it keeps saying it's necessary to install the plugin. (it works ok with the other browsers, also with google chrome).
Has anybody ever met a similar problem?
thanks in advance
marcoHi Marco,
unless something changed between versions documented limitations include:
- support for only PDF plugin (version 8.1 or later) - with api to check availability at runtime if it is available on machine
- support for Flash plugin (without external dependency)
So other plugins are not supported:
