Hello i took a class in the past on java programming and we used a program called jpad. I was wondering if anybody knew anywhere i can download this program or other programs for java programming.

It's called the "JDK" which is short for "Java SDK", and you can download it from this site. It's a collection of command-line tools.
Or you can get an IDE or something, but why bother?

Need help connecting java-program to Clarion-software/database

I have made a simple java-program which monitors control-lines in a computers com-port. Now I need to pass this information to Clarion-based software.
I am currently writing the changes in to a file from which the clarion software will read the changes, but is there any better way to do this?

How to run a java program without Java Compiler

I have a small project and I want share it with my friends but my friend'pc have not
Java compiler.
for example, I writen a application like YM, then 2cp can sent,receive messege. My cumputer run as Server, and my frien PC run as client.
How can my friend run it? or how to create an icon in dektop tu run a java program..??..

To run a program you don't need a Java compiler. Just the Java Runtime Engine. That can be downloaded from the Sun website and comes with an installer.
You could then turn your application into an executable jar file and start it somehow like jar myYM.
There is also software that packs a Java program into an executable file. I've never used that but one that comes to my mind is JexePack. It's for free if you can live with a copyright message popping up every time you start the program.

Machine environment for running a java program

I am thinking about writing a client-server application. The communication between the server and the client and vice versa will be in RMI. My question is regarding the client machine environment - do I need to install JDK on the client machine in order to run the client? Can the client run on any environment?

Problems running a java program

I have absolutely no java experience whatsoever, and I need to fix a program that suddenly stopped running properly after several years without problems. Basically, I have a perl script that calls a java program. Everytime I run this perl script from the web browser, the java program returns an internal error:

However, when I run the perl script command line, it runs fine. I added the -verbose option to the java call, and I discovered that the program stops running after it opens the .jar files but before it loads them .... these files have full read permissions, so I don't think that's the problem. Any ideas?

The most likely possibilities: new version of the operating system, new version of perl, new version of java. Also possible: new version installed of any of the previous without removing older versions, new software not associated with the first, new mapped drives and/or changed env vars.

Can a java program be run in the background without the user being aware of it? I need to make a program that continuosly monitors a pc at regular intervals and runs at all time. It should be hidden(shouldn't display on the screen while running) from the user, and also, can it be run as a system file so that even if a user checks he/she would think of it as a system file?

Because not only need to 'hide' the application, you also need to set up all the monitoring and logging capability. There is a html page with 4 steps to install a software. each step is a link, which upon clicking does its work.
the first step is to install jre 1.4.2_11 if its not installed in the system. But how can i find out whether jre 1.4.2_11 is installed or not ?

Error in ONS logs while implmenting FCF on oracle RAC from java program

I have java prog on client machine that uses properties from a property file.While making the connection to the ONS port on the oracle RAC server to implement FCF the program is throwing error as below:
java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
and when i checked the ons logs for that node the logs are as follows:

These logs are generated only when java program tries to connect else the daemon started without any errors.
But sometime it connets and gives the desired output.
Please advice and do let me know in case you need more information.

Access the adobe form pdf data in abap or java programs

We created an adobe form, with few text boxes, and emailed to user for filing his data into the pdf file.
He filled the text boxes and saved the pdf, and sent back the pdf file by mail.
Now our requirement is:
we need to read the values entered by the user in pdf and update in certain ztables using abap or java.
case 1: using abap
How can abap program read the entries/values in pdf.
is there any doc/blog that shows how to access the adobe form data in abap.
do we need to use/install any software for this.
case 2: using java
Is it possible to read/retrive the adobe form data into java. once the data is into java program, i can utilise the data for several puposes.

using ABAP:
check the program: FP_PDF_TEST_03
This program reads the data from Adobe into XML format.
After this you have to read the data from XML format into ABAP(hope you know how to convert XML to ABAP or simply google it).

Java programs do not work correctly in my computer.

This is very simple. Every java program I have, such as the Java Control Panel or the LimeWire (downloads program) can't work correctly, meaning the program's window appears but not its content; showing a blank window instead of showing me the program. I have reinstalled the complete java software several times but nothing changes.

I need to call a java program and pass parameters from C#

I'm new to C# and was given a project to rewrite some of my old VB.net programs to C# to help me learn. These VB programs call quite a few .bat files that have calls to java programs in them. I'm doing okay converting my VB code, but I've been
stumped for days trying to figure out how to call java from C#.
Does anyone here know how to do this? I really should've had this figured out by now and my back is to the wall. Ugh :(

Java program to receive byte from serial port

hello everyone, i am recently working one a project which require communication between pic16f877 and PC. My pic continuiously measure a voltage and send the result (a byte ranging from 0 to 255) to the rs232 port. One the pc side, my java program keep reading the serial port and it works for values 0~127 and 160~255. But if the byte value is between 127 and 160, it cannot received correctly, i get something like 375,8224,or even 65532 etc(no obvious path but more likely to be 300+,700+,8000+ or 65500+). I have been trying very hard to solve this and i think the problem is due to the pc software. I am feeling so frustrated and any suggestion will be much appreciated.
p.s. : i used Bufferedreader.read() in my program

--mengyaothis may not matter in your case - but don't use a Reader, use a Stream (BufferedInputStream maybe)

how can i do to change my java program in a .exe file ? This could be useful if the user doesn't have the java runtime environment.
