JAVA Proxy :: Exception in ejb-jar.xml in NWDS

Hi All
I am getting exception while Importing (Inbound) JAVA Proxy ZIP file in NWDS, ejb-jar.xml shows the red cross & when I double click on it got following error -->
The content of element type "ejb-jar" is incomplete, it must match "(description?,display-name?,small-icon?,large-icon?,enterprise-beans,relationships?,assembly-descriptor?,ejb-client-jar?)".
I already add the following JAR files in class-path -->
aii_proxy_xirt.jar
aii_msg_runtime.jar
aii_utilxi_misc.jar
guidgenerator.jar
One different thing I also notice is that after adding these JAR files in classpath I am not getting my Inbound Interface BEAN under EJB candidates.
Also nothing is visible under ejbModule usually it shows 4 JAVA files & one template file.
As a solution I tried searching in google & forum for above exception, most threads suggest to add the Beans to xml files but I am not getting my interface Bean under EJB candidates.
I also tried reloading all the external JAR files again from System but still same issue.
Also within the same NWDS one another version of EJB is working fine but I worked on it 6months back, I tried copy its contents to ejb-jar.xml source code but then also nothing happens.
I am using NWDS Version: 7.0.10
Can you pls. suggest & let me know what further information I can provide from my side which can help you to investigate it.

hi,
Your are using server java proxy.
You can use some other jar files apart from what you are using,.
ejb20.jar
exception.jar
sapj2eeclient.jar
and after importing your zip file (create a ejb project first ,then add the zar files and then click on the ejbModule and then import your zip file ) close and open your project.
Do not directly click on ejb-jar.xml.Click on ejbModule and import the .zip file.
then save your .template file in ejbModule as a .java project.
then there should not be any error.

I have an ejb-jar.xml that looks like this. I have had no problem with remote interfaces. Now I want the bean to have a local interface too.

Null Pointer Exception in orion-ejb-jar.xml GUI editor

Hi,
I am getting a NPE when attempting to configure CMR mappings orion-ejb-jar.xml with the GUI/Properties Editor.
Using 9.0.5.2 on Windows XP professional SP2
Have defined the necessary <relationships> descriptors for this relation.
1:M unidirectional from entity X to Entity Y
1)Over orion-ejb-jar.xml right click and select 'Properties...'
2) Highlight Entity X in properties gui and open the tree. Select 'CMP Field Mappings'.
3)On the right pane there are two tabs 'CMP Field Mappings' and 'Relationship Mappings'. Select Relationship Mappings.
4) Relationship Mappings tab now displayed with the above relationship displayed in drop down 'Relationship' tab.
5) Regardless of whether I select any extra properties on the CMP Mapping, If I hit ok button I get the NPE shown below (n.b. All details filled in except the FK field on the many side of the relation - this is the only field I can enter on this window in this case.).

Can't create EJB from existing .java AND ejb-jar.xml entries

I've noticed that I can create the source files for an EJB outside of JDeveloper, then I can do the "Create Entity Bean" thing, and specify the path to the source files, and it will use those source files, instead of forcing me to create them again.
However, I've noticed that if I manually add the information to the "ejb-jar.xml" file, and then try to add the bean, it won't let me. I've found I have to delete the entry from the ejb-jar.xml file and let JDeveloper control the creation of the fields, even if I know exactly what needs to be set.

If you are adding/modifying ejb-jar.xml outside JDeveloper and trying to see the changes.
Save the ejb-jar.xml file which is being modified externally
Select ejb-jar.xml in JDeveloper
and do View | Refresh
This will load in the changes (providing the source path has been set properly)

Getting Inbound Java Proxy Exception in method "onMessage"

I have built an Inbound Java proxy, deployed the EJB, viewed it in the J2EE admin tool, registered the JPR settings (also listAll, reviewed results, looks OK), configure the XI scenario. When I run the XI scenario using the Runtime workbench I get the following error in the BPM Synchronous Send step (calling the Java Proxy)
"com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: Exception in method onMessage".
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Created EJB Project in NWDS, unziped XI gened proxies into ejbModule folder, renamed *PortTypeImpl.template to *PortTypeImpl.java (will add real code later), compiled all code (no errors), edited ejb_jar.xml to match your suggested format, can view EJB Candidates (and see my Proxy Bean), built EJB.JAR file (via Wizard), created new Enterprise Application Project and pointed build path to my EJB Project, within the Enterprise Application Project I built an EAR file (which includes the "EJB Project JAR File", Deployed Enterprise Application Project to the XI J2EE Engine. I can log into XI J2EE Admin and see my EJB Project and the Proxy Bean I am trying to execute. Is this the process you used to deploy the proxy bean?
Also you you turn on JPR Tracing to see what parameters are passed into the JPR engine?

My machine is behind a proxy. When I try to compile an EJB using ANT 1.3 I am getting the following Exception.
D:\src\tools\ant\build.xml:1267: SAXException while parsing 'ejb-jar.xml'. This probably indicates badly-formed XML. Details: External entity not found: "http://java.sun.com/dtd/ejb-jar_1_1.dtd".

java.net.SocketException: no further information (code=10071)
at com.sun.xml.parser.Parser.fatal(Parser.java:2817)
I read inone of the news groups that I need to have weblogic.jar in the classpath.
I am using webligic 6.1 and I have also set weblogic.jar in the classpath.

It's http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/ejb-jar_1_1.dtd. Also, check your doctype -
it publicid is correct (-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 1.1//EN),
local DTD will be used.

I was trying an example on entity bean CMP, i created the bean and tried to deploy it.I got the following error :-

Note that the class specified in the error is in its package. So this doesn't seems to be exact error. Please suggest.

I have faced same problem most of time and resolved ot by recompileing my all the classes and new deployment descriptors. First you should make new java files for all clases(copy contents fron old java files ) and make anew package same as old and then do all the required process and re deploy it. I think because of some problem in class generation.

The warning message looks to be unrelated to the java.lang.IllegalArgumentException error. The warning states that optimistic locking cannot be migrated to the toplink-ejb-jar.xml file; this is stated in chapter 7 of the TopLink developer's guide at
http://download-west.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/toplink/1013/MAIN/_pdf/b13593_v1_01.pdf
The exception though seems to indicate that your orion-ejb-jar.xml contains EJBs mapped to the same table that are not related through EJB inheritance. I do it all the time with POJOs so this will work in TopLink, but you will need a support case to help get your project migrated if this is the case.

I am getting the following error while deploying my EJB3 application on Weblogic 10.3.0. This is happening only if I include ejb-jar.xml.
As per the EJB3 descriptor spec, Remote Home or Local home are not exists.

Actually yes, I resolved my problem.
I'm developing an EJB 3.0 project. I'm using NWDS 7.2 and JDK 1.6 as I said.
The problem is that my server was using JDK 1.4 and that was the problem.
EJB 1.1 and 2.1 need ejb-jar.xml but EJB 3.0 use the annotations instead.
Check your server JDK Version. It should be JDK 1.5 or higher.
Something else that you should check, in your project properties :
In the Build PATH : Use JDK 1.5
In the Java Compiler : Set the java compiler compliance level to 1.6 and check use default compliance settings

ModelException when moving Activation properties for MDB to ejb-jar.xml

I have an MDB called BatchMdb that needs to be deployed into both JBoss and SAP NetWeaver. This means I have different activation config properties depending on the application server. So I cannot specify the properties by annotation, I have to place them in the ejb-jar.xml. It works fine in JBoss, but in the SAP IDE, I get this exception:
EJB Model Builder: Exception occurred: com.sap.engine.services.ejb3.model.impl.ModelException: There is no bean BatchMdb defined in module auth_app*annotation|src. at com.sap.engine.services.ejb3.model.impl.ModuleImpl.getBeanImpl(ModuleImpl.java:181)
For some reason, the IDE does not like the entry in ejb-jar.xml for the MDB. This looks like a bug to me. Comments, anyone?

looks like your xml file(ejb-jar.xml) is missing some required tag element or
the elements are out of
order. the format is specified in a dtd, you should take a look at the dtd for
ejb-jar.xml. for wl5.1, try looking under c:\weblogic for ejb-jar.dtd

I am clearly missing items in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml. If anyone has a sample or tips, that would be awesome as a starting point.

Those tags just declare that you are using our CMP provider and that
your descriptor is in META-INF/weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml.
FWIW, you might also want to check out EJBGen. It tends to keep more up
to date with WLS than xdoclet.

Oc4j generated finders in orion-ejb-jar.xml file causing errors

It looks like the additional finder methods that are generated when the application
is deployed are incorrect from the 9.0.3 version to the new 10.1.2.0.2 version.

The problem with the 10.1.2.0.2 generated finders is that it is prepending H1 when
it should be NO_SYS_USER_OBJECT_HISTORY which results in the following error:

I tried to manually edit the file but when I shutdown and restart oc4j it regenerates the file again.

Jingzhi -- If you define the correct EJB-QL you should get the correct SQL generated for the finder. If that's not happening can you verify it against the OC4J v903 production release and see if it is still happening. I don't know if this helps with the JDeveloper problem specifically but if you don't need to create your own finders then that I hope should help.
