Java test from brainbench

Hi all. Within three months I need to pass a test from http://www.brainbench.com
Who knows something about these guys? What will be in the test?

Brainbench test are flawed and not a good resource for testing.
Brainbench has a good marketing plan and have been able to grow a client base from this. Their instructional designers, however, leave much to be desired and don't have a deep understanding of the subject matter. It seems as though Brainbench doesn't have a good set of subject matter experts on staff.
What will be in the test?
If you truly know your stuff, you will find a range of typographical errors, subjective topics, questions with multiple correct answers that ask for a single correct answer, questions with no correct answers, flat out illogical questions, and design questions that have no "best" answer but depend upon context and are not appropriate for multiple choice format.
If you don't know your stuff, you will just find a series of questions that on the surface seem like a good test.
If you are HR staff or a technical recruiter, don't bother wasting your money on Brainbench assessments.
If the organization is depending upon Brainbench assessments for hiring, this indicates that they do not have the appropriate skills in-house to adequately perform a technical skills assessment.
And they most likely are unable to indentify the flaws in the Brainbench assessment questions, if they even read them.
As mentioned, Brainbench is succesfully able to sell their services to organizations that do not have significant in-house Java-based software engineers.
Organizations that do have significant Java-based software engineers, most likely are not paying Brainbench to do their assessment.

  • How do I call a simple java class from a bpel process?

    Hi.
    In JDeveloper 10.1.4.3.0 I've created a simple java class that does an ftp get operation followed by an unzip. The class uses some 3rd part libraries (jars).
    I want to use a simple bpel process to schedule a daily execution of this java class, and deploy it all to our SOA-server, - and was looking into using the <bpelx:exec> function.
    The java class and the bpel process is all stored in the same JDeveloper project.
    How do I put this together so that both my java class and the necessary jars are available to the bpel process?
    I've looked into the JavaExecSample.bpel, and it's says something about "...the class com.otn.samples.javaexec.CreditCalculator is locally packaged with this BPEL process".
    How do I do that?
    Can I make it and test it all locally from my workstation (only JDeveloper installed, I guess there's nothing that can execute the bpel code?), or do I have to compile class etc (make war-file?) and deploy to SOA server (BPEL-INF/lib or classes?) before anything can be tested?
    (I guess all this is simple, once you know how, but being a newbie to this I need a shove in the right direction :-)
    Regards,
    -Haakon-

    To create a java class and dependent jars inside the BPEL process project you need to do the following:
    1. Right click on your BPEL process project and select New and then Java Class from the Items.
    2. Make the BPEL process project, JDeveloper would compile the java classes and add them into the BPEL suite case jar, see the output folder and check the BPEL suite case jar file for java classes and dependent jars.
    You can test your Java classes from JDeveloper IDE, no need to deploy the classes on SOA server. When you make the BPEL project it compiles .bpel files and Java classes. You can test your classes once .bpel file and java classes compiled successfully.

  • How can I call a java object from Web dynpro ABAP application?

    I made Web dynpro ABAP application and posted it to SAP EP.
    For certain business purpose, we need to call external 3rd party java object using 3rd party's java api in Web dynpro application.
    Is there anybody who experienced this kind of java interface issue?
    I know Web dynpro Java environment can fully support this kind of requirement. but regarding Web dynpro ABAP, I couldn't find any clue for this.
    Any comment or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Raymond, ABAP Consultant

    if you have jco configured, then you can make calls to java api from ABAP .

  • App crash when using JAVA callbacks from native threads in solaris

    Hi all,
    Sorry for putting the thread here. I did use the native methods forum, I wasnt lucky. I Hope more people would look into this forum, which brings me here.
    I have a solaris application which crashes when I try to callback the JAVA methods and variables from the native code. The description of the problem is below
    Written a native library, the library is multithreaded (i.e) I create a thread using pthread_create() in the native code which performs the operation of calling a JAVA method from the native code. The routine of calling the JAVA method works perfectly elsewhere outside the new thread.
    There are two scenarios I've tested it in
    1. I created a thread (say X) from the main thread (say Y) and made the y to wait until the X is complete using the pthread_join(). The JAVA callbacks works fine when called from Y but the app crashes if done from X.
    2. Did not make the Y to wait until the X is complete, hoping that both will run paralelly and even the the App crashes.
    And to be precise the Y is the thread where the native method is called from JAVA.
    I have tested for any memory leaks or stack corruption by removing the JAVA callbacks and bulding a executable and using purify, the report doesnot hint any such occurances.
    The linker options used for building the shared library is as follows
    ${GPP} ${INC} -G ${LIB} -mt -g -lCstd -lCrun -lpthread ${OBJS} -o <lib-name>
    I wonder if we can create threads in the native code when using JAVA callbacks and even if we can whether it would be appropiate to use the callbacks with in the threads
    Looking forward for any help.
    Regards,
    Vamsi

  • Error while calling java program from ABAP

    Hi Experts,
    We are trying for RFC inbound scenario.
    We followed the below blog
    /people/gregor.wolf3/blog/2004/08/26/setup-and-test-sap-java-connector-outbound-connection
    We are working with SAP JCO 3.0.2
    We are getting the error : 'STFC_CONNECTION' could not be found in the server repository.
    After I run the Java server program if I execute the RFC destination directly from SM 59 it is showing successful messages.
    If I stop the java program then this RFC is failing. Based on this we concluded that RFC to Java connection is working fine.
    But as mentioned in blog if we call the RFC Destination from ABAP program it is giving the below error,
    'STFC_CONNECTION' could not be found in the server repository.
    If we test the RFC destination using RFC_TRUSTED_CHECK standard FM we are getting the below error.
    'RFCPING' could not be found in the server repository.
    We create the RFC destination of Type : TCP/IP as exactly mention in the blog.
    Please help us in resolving this issue.
    Thanks
    Prince

    Pabi,
    Using the RFC connection,we can establish a link between Java and SAP.
    Afterwards,hope we can call Java program from ABAP.
    Below is the sample piece of code to establish RFC connection(link) between Java and SAP.

    Hi,
    Can u Please post the WSDL..here. I remember long back i resolved this kind of issue...when i was getting "*parameters is already defined in - - -*" while using ClientGen.
    Once i will get the WSDL may be i can recall it...
    If u have any problem in Posting the WSDL..in Forums .. then let me know I will send my E-Mail Address...
    As far as i remember ..it usually happens when we Run ClientGen task of WLS81 ON the WebService/WSDL generated by WebLogic 9.x or Above. Please let me know if this is the Case with you as well... . I remember there is a Patch for it...for WLS8 ClientGen task...I dont remember the Patch Number Exactly.
    Just For testing:
    Just Use WLS9.x ClientGen task On the Same WSDL
    <taskdef name="clientgen" classname="weblogic.wsee.tools.anttasks.ClientGenTask" />
    I am sure you will not see this issue... because the issue is there only with WLS8 Clientgen...
    Thanks

  • Calling Java Function from XSL

    I'm trying something I think is fairly simple and keep getting errors during the process. I'm just trying to parse an XML file and call a java method from a simple java program called HelloWorld using an XSL stylesheet.
    I get the following error: Error while parsing XSL file (Extension function namespace should start with 'http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/'.). Here is my XSL. I know the oracle namespace is not necessary, it was added due to the error I was receiving:
    <?xml version = "1.0"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
    xmlns:oracle="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/"

    <xsl:value-of select="//author"/>
    <xsl:value-of select = "jfctn:hello()"/>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    Here is my java file:
    public class HelloWorld {
    public static String hello() {
    return "Hello World";
    And here is my simple XML file:
    <source>
    <title>XSL</title>
    <author> John
    Smith</author>
    </source>
    Any advice/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Jimmy

    After some trials I've come up with a more specific issue regarding this error. Here is my new code that works on a machine that does not have a file called xmlparserv2.jar (In my stack trace I noticed it referring to the oracle.xml.parser.v2 so I'm assuming this file and path setup that refers to this file is the issue). Unfortunately I have other programs that need this file and setup so I was wondering if anyone knew some alternate setup or workaround to resolve this issue.
    The following works fine for me using xalan on a server with the most recent jdk 1.4 setup.
    Here is the new XSL code similar to the one listed above. The XML is the same as the previous post.
    <?xml version = "1.0"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
    xmlns:xalan="http://xml.apache.org/xalan"
    xmlns:jfctn="xalan://com/raytheon/iis/temp/HelloWorld"
    exclude-result-prefixes="jfctn"
    version='1.0'>

  • Calling simple Java Code from 11g BPM

    Hi,
    I know this has been round the houses but I cant find a satisfactory solution for my scenario. I would like to call some simple java code from BPM (11.1.1.6). I guess I need to expose it as a service but it seems overkill to be via soap so any advice you can give would be much appreciated. Creating a jar that I can call somehow would be perfect.
    This is my scenario:
    - I am creating a Security POC for BPM
    - The BPM Process is exposed as a web service and authenticated using SAML
    - I am testing by calling the WS from OSB
    - I want to be able to get the WLS Principal and display the username and the roles for the launching user, from within the BPM process
    - This is possible using some simple weblogic client api code shown below
    - So all I want to do is call this code from BPM somehow
    - Anyone point me in the right direction ?
    cheers
    Tony
    subject = Security.getCurrentSubject();
    for(Principal p: subject.getPrincipals()) {
    if(p instanceof WLSGroupImpl) {
    groupList.add(p.getName());
    } else if (p instanceof WLSUser) {
    principal = p.getName();
    }

    The problem to communiate java classes and forms solved !
    i have add my .jar file to $OA_JAVA/oracle/apps/fnd/jar and now i can communicate between forms and java.
    I can create an object, i can get simple message from class, but when i try to create
    ServiceFactory factory = ServiceFactory.newInstance();
    ive got ORA-105100...
    can anybody help ?

    javac -cp .;junit.jar check4PrimeTest.java
    And use -cp to save you some typing ;) If you want to incorporate unit testing into your builds I would suggest looking into automating it a little more through tool such as ant, maven, etc.

  • Stepping into Java Beans from JSP

    I am trying to figure out how to step into the Java Source code for my beans that are used in my JSP pages. I need to be able to debug them by stepping into them, using break points, etc.
    I have Nitro installed and a sample JSP page with the import to my test Java Bean class. What I did was create two projects in my work space. One as a Web project application and one as a Java project. I referenced and opened both projects. Everything compiles fine and the syntax is correct.
    The problem is I can not make the link for importing the class.
    I get this error: Class com.BrianTest.MyBean not found in import com.BrianTest.MyBean
    Anyone got a clue or a good example? I did try and add the class path and I tried to put it in a Jar file and attach the source to the Jar, but same problem.
    Thanks :?

    Stepping into jsp:useBean is not possible, but you can step-into jsp getter & setter tag.
    Since you are using java bean from a dependent project you need to configure your server with DevLoader.
    And currently only Tomcat server can be configured with Sysdeo Devloader to handle this situation
    Download Sysdeo DevLoader for Tomcat from http://www.sysdeo.com/eclipse/tomcatPlugin.html
    NOTE: If the project is self sufficient and not dependent on other projects/locations for classess/libraries then NitroX picks up all the libraries & classes present within default WEB-INF/lib & WEB-INF/classes respectively. And in this case you need not modify server configuration.
    Sysdeo DevLoader is to allow your web project to use libraries/classes from dependent projects. All you need to do is extract DevLoader.zip present within tomcatPluginV3.zip inside your Tomcat/server/classes folder.
    For more information about DevLoader please refer to http://www.sysdeo.com/eclipse/readmeDevLoader.html
    This will solve your problem and you should be able to run/debug your application. And most important make sure you have the correct NitroX build that supports Sysdeo DevLoader, refer http://www.m7.com/whatsnew.htm document against your build id (Help > About NitroX > NitroX Icon)

  • Calling my Java class from JSP page

    Hello, I am trying to call my Java class from my JSP page passing parameters to it and getting back a collection of result sets. Can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong:
    JSP code to call Java class:
    <%
    String strEssUser = "test";
    String strProcessingMonth = "JUL";
    String strProcessingYear = "2002";
    strQueryList=new ListReturn(strEssUser.toString(), strProcessingMonth.toString(), strProcessingYear.toString());

    I get this error when I try to run this JSP page using tomcat:

    I'm not sure if this problem is the way I am calling the Java class, or if I have a problem in the Java code itself. Can anyone help?

  • Calling Java application from servlet

    Hi !
    I'm trying to run a Java application from within a servlet with Tomcat 4. I'm using the Runtime.getRuntime ().exec () method. So the application is run in a different JVM as a subprocess of the servlet. I use ObjectInputStream and ObjectOutputStream and a serializable object to enable communication between the servlet and the application.
    I tested the application and the serializable object with another Java application that works as the caller and it works fine. However, replacing the caller application with the servlet I get a StreamCorruptedException. The structure of the caller application and the servlet is the same.
    My questions are:
    - Is there something I should configure in Tomcat to create a subprocess ?
    - What is the cause of the StreamCorruptedException ? How do I get it with the servlet and not with the application ?
    - Should I use an environment with the call to Runtime.getRuntime ().exec () ? How do I use it ?
    - Is the called application forced to run in my servlet's context ?
    - Is there a better way to do this ?
    Thanks to all

    Here's my code:
    1. The serializable object:
    // Object Obj
    import java.io.*;
    public class Obj implements Serializable
    public int n;
    public Obj ()
    n = 0;
    public Obj (int n)
    this.n = n;
    public String toString ()
    return getClass ().getName () + " -> (n = " + n + ")";
    2. The application Sub (subprogram)
    // Application Sub
    import java.io.*;
    public class Sub
    private static File f;
    private static FileWriter fw;
    public static void main (String [] args)
    throws IOException, InterruptedException, ClassNotFoundException
    ObjectInputStream ois;
    ObjectOutputStream oos;
    Obj obj;
    ois = new ObjectInputStream (System.in);
    obj = (Obj) ois.readObject ();
    f = new File ("Sub.txt");
    fw = new FileWriter (f);
    fw.write (obj.toString ());
    fw.close ();
    oos = new ObjectOutputStream (System.out);
    oos.writeObject (obj);
    ois.close ();
    oos.close ();
    3. The application AMain (caller application)
    // Application AMain
    import java.io.*;
    class AMain
    private static File f;
    private static FileWriter fw;
    public static void main (String [] args)
    throws IOException, ClassNotFoundException
    Runtime r;
    Process p;
    ObjectInputStream ois;
    ObjectOutputStream oos;
    Obj obj, obj2;
    r = Runtime.getRuntime ();
    p = r.exec ("java Sub");
    oos = new ObjectOutputStream (p.getOutputStream ());
    obj = new Obj (5);
    oos.writeObject (obj);
    oos.flush ();
    B.comunica (obj);
    System.out.println ("AMain sends to Sub: " + obj.toString ());
    try
    p.waitFor ();
    catch (InterruptedException e)
    System.out.println ("Subprogram was interrupted");
    System.out.println (e.toString ());
    ois = new ObjectInputStream (p.getInputStream ());
    System.out.print ("Sub sends to AMain: ");
    obj2 = (Obj) ois.readObject ();
    System.out.println (" " + obj2.toString ());
    oos.close ();
    ois.close ();
    p.destroy ();
    4. The servlet SMain (the calling servlet)
    // Servlet SMain
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class SMain extends HttpServlet
    public void doPost (HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
    throws ServletException, IOException
    Runtime r;
    Process p;
    ObjectInputStream ois;
    ObjectOutputStream oos;
    Obj obj, obj2;
    int state, i;
    res.setContentType ("text/html");
    ServletOutputStream out = res.getOutputStream ();
    out.println ("<html>");
    out.println ("<head><title>Sub</title></head>");
    out.println ("<body>");
    out.println ("Invoking subprogram...");
    out.println ("<br>");
    try
    r = Runtime.getRuntime();
    p = r.exec ("java -cp .;c:\\Programs\\Apache~1.0\\webapps\\SMain\\WEB-INF\\classes Sub");
    out.println ("...invoked<br>");
    oos = new ObjectOutputStream (p.getOutputStream ());
    obj = new Obj (5);
    oos.writeObject (obj);
    oos.flush ();
    out.println ("<br>SMain sends to Sub: " + obj.toString () + "<br>");
    try
    p.waitFor ();
    catch (InterruptedException e)
    out.println ("<br>Subprogram was interrupted<br>");
    out.println ("<br>" + e.toString () + "<br>");
    state = p.exitValue ();
    out.println ("<br>Subprogram state: " + state + "<br>");
    ois = new ObjectInputStream (p.getInputStream ());
    out.print ("<br>Sub sends to SMain: ");
    obj2 = (Obj) ois.readObject ();
    p.destroy ();
    catch (SecurityException e)
    out.println ("<br>SecurityException<br>");
    out.println ("<br>" + e.toString () + "<br>");
    catch (IOException e)
    out.println ("<br>IOException<br>");
    out.println ("<br>" + e.toString () + "<br>");
    catch (Exception e)
    out.println ("<br>Exception<br>");
    out.println ("<br>" + e.toString () + "<br>");
    out.println ("</body>");
    out.println ("</html>");
    So, as you can see, both application AMain and servlet SMain invoke application Sub and pass it the serializable object Obj. Oddly enough, application AMain works fine whereas servlet SMain throws a StreamCorruptedException exception.

    It's hard to guess what would cause the exception without seeing code, but the interaction between the processes would differ from that between two applications, because the servlet process is started with a different class loader. I'm not sure which one the jvm started by the call would use.
    How can I enforce that a System classloader be used in the call to Runtime.getRuntime ().exec () ? (I mean by System classloader a classloader equals to the one applications are launched from console).

    Is there a reason why you aren't starting the second process manually and then connecting to it on a port?
    The idea is providing a Web interface for an application running in the server. The servlet is used to restrict access to this application but once access is granted (passing the servlet) the application should not be constrained.

    Hi Nilesh,
    From the error i think that the error is with the hostname.
    Please enter the the Application Server IP/Hostname.
    If you are loggin to SAP System "XX1" from SAP GUI. Then click the change Item tab and see Application server name/IP let say "XX2" for hostname or "xx.xx.xx.xx" for IP.
    Replace <i>srv[0] = new Server("gateway","sapgw00","JCOSERVER01",repository);</i>
    with <i>srv[0] = new Server("XX2","sapgw00","JCOSERVER01",repository);</i>
    If App Server is IP then replace with
    <i>srv[0] = new Server("xx.xx.xx.xx","sapgw00","JCOSERVER01",repository);</i>
    Let me know if it is throwing any error.
    Thanks,
    Prashil
