Java to check USB HD

Have anyone ever used java to check if a USB HD is connected?
Where can I get reference or lib?
Is it possible to check if the USB HD is connected as D: or E: or F:?
Thanks in advance for any information!!
Dino

Thanks for your reply very much.
Currently, I got Java USB API from http://www-124.ibm.com/developerworks/projects/javaxusb
But still need some efforts to make it works.
I don't know if the API can check which drive USB HD exists.
Welcome to exchange experiences with the USB API.

    I opened iCal back up, all the dates were blank, so i started to type events into a date.
    As soon as I started to double click a date to type an event, magically all the events in all the months reappeared.
    I'm still puzzled why it acted this way and if I did delete something that caused it to act this way.

  • Daily Java system checks.

    Hi,
    I need to know what are the daily Java system checks an administrator need to perform. We have buffer analysis,Lock,Update,Hit ratios's etc in ABAP stack. What about java stack?Does any one here have any document on Daily system checks on Java?Can any one help me providing the Web AS Java Monitoring guide?
    Help greatly rewarded.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I had a similar thread posted some time back ... From the replies and my experience let me tell you that doing a pro active monitoring in Java server is not defined it is more sort of reactive monitoring.
    Meanwhile you can get your system to SAP standards and recommendations. There are lot of notes on the Parameter settings and version recommendations. Try to follow that and keep your system in par with SAP recommendations things should be fine then.

  • Check usb connection

    Hi Guys
    Is there any way i can check usb connection alive, or usb devices are connected.
    Best Regards

    Hi,
    you could use VISA Find Resource
    I used this to find connected serial devices, so you have to change expression to find USB. An then you can send some command and see if the device respond.
    VI is located in Instrument I/O->VISA->Advanced
    Hope it helps.

  • ABAP & Java conditional checks

    Hi folks,
    I'm running the IDM 7.1 Identity Centre, and when I assign a business role that has an ABAP and a Java privelege in it (And also when I unassign it...) the condition that checks whether the user has any priveleges in the system (and decides whether to delete him or not) seems to fail.
    That means my ABAP and Java users both are left in the repository with no roles/groups assigned.
    It seems to use the mxpt_check_account Stored procedure, which I've looked at, but cannot figure out why the condition is failing this check, and my users are not getting properly created/deleted.
    Any insight? Thanks im advance!
    Troy Shane

    Ok, I think you have it now, except for the exact order of things.
    Here's what I face right now:
    I assign a Business Role, with those 5 priveleges assigned to it, to my user, Larry.
    Larry gets created ok in ABAP and Java, and actually, the roles get assigned just fine there. If i change the role he's assigned to (Manager West, instead of East for example) I see them get updated with no problems (Very smoothly, in fact) in both the ABAP and the Java. For example, if I simulate a promotion for Larry through the IDM User Interface, and assign him a VP role, I see the roles updated properly. (Besides some SPML Date format warnings on the MX_VALIDFROM & MX_VALIDTO, but those I can live with for now.)
    However, I still, have two problems:
    1. It seems that NOW...(sorry, different behaviour now than when I first posted this message, due to the recommendations I've implemented) when I remove the Role assignment in IDM, the user's roles get removed properly in the repository systems. Then the tasks to delete the Java and ABAP users run, but they BOTH error out. It seems that the jobs that modify the role/profile assignments for both my ABAP and Java system (Standard SAP Prov Framework tasks - SetJavaRole&GroupForUser & SetJavaRole&GroupForUser ) also effectively deletes the users, because by the time the delete tasks run, the users are no longer there. These tasks throw the errors:
    Pass: DeleteJavaUser
    Error in delete: Can not delete object with id SPML.SAPUSER.Larry because Could not delete object as id seems to be invalid SPML.SAPUSER.Larry
    (...makes sense)
    Pass: DeleteABAPUser
    User Larry does not exist
    (...also makes sense)
    Ok, admittedly, this one is low impact, and I don't really need to get it fixed, I just want to understand why it is throwing an error...should it really be deleting the users when it first removes the roles, and then checks that there are no more privelege assignments for that system? (When I have 2 priveleges for the same system assigned through roles, it doesn't delete the user, just removes the role, as expected...no errors
    Ok, this one is my real issue now (Thanks for reading this far):
    2. I have the role configured as above, including priveleges from all 3 of my repositories (I hit "post" too early above):
    Role = ROLE:BUSINESS:SALES_EAST
    5 Priveleges total :
    - Z_INNOTECH_EAST-Group (JV1)
    - Eastern Region-Group (LABS)
    - Sales-Group (LABS)
    - Z_INNOTECH_SALES_EAST-Role (CR7)
    - Z_INNOTECH_SALES_EAST-Role (JV1)
    JV1 = AS Java 7.01 SP4 (EHP1 SP4)
    CR7  = SAP CRM ABAP 7.01 SP2
    LABS = Active Directory OU
    The ABAP & Java tasks faithfully fire now, every time I assign or unassign a Business role to my user Larry. (Yay!)
    There are also 2 AD groups (privelege) assigned to Larry through the role: Eastern Region group and Sales Group.
    There is also an inherited "Employee" Business Role, which has the AD "Employees" Group - for base employee access.
    The idea is that, a member of the Eastern Region Sales group would automatically be an Employee, so it is a Child Role of most of my major roles.
    When I assign this Business Role, the Active Directory tasks very rarely and very inconsistently fire...I am watching th results in the Job Log and also through my AD tools...
    I am using IDM 7.1 SP2 (Patched on Monday past)
    Using individual tasks through the IDM UI, I can create Users, and enable them...but the Provisioning seems not to work. I have the tasks set properly in the Repository definition and am using the SAP delivered ones (I have tried using modified copies with limited success, and am now back to basics) This proves it isn't the repository definition, or permissions on the repository. I'm always using the same Administrative user to assign/unassign these users, so now I'm stumped!
    Phew, ok that's enough for now...I'll post more error messages once I've investigated the AccountRepoName that you suggest...I haven't seen that Attribute and don't know if it is defined here.
    TIA (and so far...),
    Troy
    (Ok...how come I don't have any line returns in my message?)

  • Java text editor usb

    Hi i am a java student and i dont really know where this question but my question is
    Is there a java text editor and java programs compiler for a usb drive?

    It is possible, though a bit of a hack. You can install the JDK on your computer at home and copy the directory to your USB drive. When you want to use it at school, simply add the bin directory of the JDK to the system path and you can use the commandline to compile and run your applications.

  • Java not checking current directory

    I'm trying to run one of my classes in command line. First time I've done this, usually use JBuilder, but I need to send command line arguments for this assignment, which is easier to do in command line.
    I'm using Windows XP. My class is called Fexpand. I go to the directory that the class is in. I check this with dir, and Fexpand.class is clearly present. I type "java Fexpand" and hit enter. I get "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Fexpand" If I put the full path to the current directory in manually with -classpath it will run just fine. But everything I've checked says this shouldn't be necessary and it should be checking the current directory automatically.
    Now javac works just fine. Just for kicks I thought I'd see if compiling with javac would make any difference. Went to my source directory (because JBuilder keeps compiled classes separate from source), typed "javac Fexpand.java" and it worked just fine. And since there was now an Fexpand.class in this directory, too, I thought I'd try running it. "java Fexpand" Still get the same error.
    My CLASSPATH variable contains the following (including quotes, I didn't add those for clarity, they're in the value for CLASSPATH): "C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_04\lib\ext\QTJava.zip"
    I have no idea whether or not this is right, but it's the only culprit I can think of.
    Thanks for any help.

    But everything I've checked says this shouldn't be necessary and it should be checking the current directory automatically.Not if you hava overridden the default checking by explicitly specifying a classpath. Read the documentation Setting the Classpath and How Classes are Found here:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/tools.html

  • Essbase Java API - Check if the cube is in read-only mode

    Hello,
    I use "Essbase Java Api 11.1.2.0" to manage my essbase server.
    I made a script based on sample to make a cube in read-only mode and I have an exception when the cube is already in read-only mode.
    So is-it possible to check if the cube is in read-only mode with the essbase java api ?
    Thanks
    Arnaud

    Hi,
    I have a solution that might work for you, please follow steps below:
    1) Go to your project schedule, make a small modification to any task on schedule and 'Publish' the project.
    2) While your project is being published and saved, open another window
    Server Settings -> Manage Queue Jobs
    3) Here you can view the progress of your current Project Publishing update, check if all goes smooth and your project is published successfully without indicating any errors :
     ( to view any error look at the last column of
    table on Manage Queue Job page)
    4) Also in your Project window see if the project is published and not saved as Draft.
    Basically this will give you a fair idea of your project being published or not.

  • Linux, Java and Javax.usb

    Hello,
    I've spent 3 days trying to install the javax.usb package on my linux with the classical package and I finally found the javax.usb RPMs. I installed them and every thing seemed fine until I tried to run a java program.
    Now I'm unable to run any program.
    Completion does not work anymore e.g. when I'm in a directory with a .class file, the completion is unable to find it.
    That would not be a real problem but when I try to run a java program, I always end up with a ClassNotFoundException. Does anyone have a clue about what is happening to me.
    System : Mandriva 2009.0
    Linux Kernel 2.6

    Packages that begin with "java" are base packages.
    Packages that begin with "javax" are extensions to
    Java (hence the "x").
    AWT was the first UI package in Java. Swing came
    later and was added as an extension.
    %aha, right. cheers

  • NW04s full version Sneak Preview (java): License check failed

    I've seen similar posts, but not exactly the same thing.
    I installed the Sneak Preview Full Edition (Java), and finally installed it today.  It shuts down after 30 minutes with an error from jcontrol.exe - the license check has failed.
    It's not an expired license (I just downloaded it this week, and installed it today).
    I've seen several posts related to using the Visual Administrator to manipulate licenses, but I haven't seen how to start this tool - there are no instructions I've found that are any more detailed than "start the Visual Administrator".
    I feel like I'm almost getting it.  Can anybody provide me that missing link?

    Finally got it going properly.
    I adjusted my system clock to fall between the licence dates found in Visual Administrator and restarted the system.
    It didn't work.
    I uninstalled the sneak preview edition,
    Set the system clock to 15/Dec/2005,
    Reinstalled the the sneak preview edition.
    It did worked this time.
    I was surprised by the licence dates in Visual Administrator.This time that the start date was set properly from 15/Dec/2005 to expire on 15/Mar/2006.
    However in the first installation,the licence dates are
    from Nov/05 to May/06 which is 6 months.
    This time i got the licence from Dec/05 to Mar/06 which is 3 months.
    I observed 2 differences between these 2 installations.
    1) After my first installation, while the jcontrol.exe is still starting some processes, I tried to login to VA couple of times unsuccessfully. In my next attempt to login to VA, it asked me to change my password and I did change it from abcd1234 to something else.
    When I changed my password, may be jControl.exe didn't pick it up instantly and tried to use some services using the old password which might have caused the problem.
    2) In my second installation, I changed my system date to 15/Dec/2005.So.. to prevent any sort of automatic date synchronization, I've disconnected the internet connection.
    This time the installation date was taken into consideration by the installer to create the licence.
    It is still a mystery to me why the licence date was set to some old dates in my first install.

  • Java Version Checking

    I have an application that must have JAVA version 1.4.1 and nothing under that. I am using the System Properties to check for the version.
    My question is, Are future releases of JAVA going to have their version numbers formatted in the same way i.e N.N.N, 1.4.2, 1.5.0??
    Thanks,
    Bruce

    I mean, what would you do if the client didn't even have any version
    of java at all? I got an idea maybe a ReadMe.txt or .html with instructions on how to use my program.
    Are you going to be able to tell them from the software that they
    need to install it?Yes, I will simplify the install for them by providing a link or the JRE with my application and run it for them if they want to install it.
    Anybody got a sulotion?

  • Java version checking for IE needed

    Hi, Guys,
    I need to check the currently used java version in IE.
    I used <object> tag
    <object classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93" codebase="https://java.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jinstall-1_5_0_12-windows-i586.cab#Version=1,5,0,12" width=10 height=10>
    <param name="codebase" value=".">
    <param name="code" value="HelpMe.class">
    </param>
    </object>
    The expected behavior is that : if currently installed java version is less than 1.5.0.12, a popup window will show.
    but for java 1.5.0_11, the popup window for download does not show up.
    I also tried
    <object classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93" codebase="https://java.sun.com/update/1.5.0/jinstall-1_5_0_12-windows-i586.cab#Version=1,5,0_12" width=10 height=10>
    any idea?
    Thanks

    A slightly unrelated observation: when I use the <object> tag, IE 7 with JDK 5 shows this ActiveX warning asking me if I want to let an ActiveX control by Sun run. Since we wanted to minimize spooking out end users with security warnings, we decided to only ever use the <applet> tag which does not cause the (additional) ActiveX warning.

  • Checking USB ports

    got a strange symptom.
    when importing pictures to iPhoto from SD card or directly from the camera, I often, but not always get a fault 'connection failed; server may not exist ..'. I tried the workarounds described elsewhere in the forum, but nothing helped.
    What I find peculiar is that when connecting the card reader (already exchanged that) I don't see the SD card as USB drive in Finder ?
    How can I check the status of the USB ports ?
    /thanks, a.

    One way to see the USB device tree is under the Apple menu - About This Mac - More Info... - Hardware - USB
    That will show you all the devices recognized by the system. Or you can run the Apple System Profiler application directly. As to why the Mac doesn't recognize the SD card, have you tried re-formatting it? I have had a couple of SD cards that were badly formatted at the factory. One even contained a couple of Windows viruses. Now I format everything before I use it, either in the camera or on the Mac.
