Java to COM

Are there any good tools/resources out there to communicate between Java and COM? I've looked at http://www.linar.com/ however there tools are priced too high for me.

JAVA to COM Bridge?

Hello!
For the past few days I was searchng for JAVA to COM bridge. I have a dll file from third partry that contains just LOTS of classes and methods and I need to work with it from my java application.
I have found a few solutions.
1. IBM Java interface toolkit (very expensive 1000usd per licence)
2. JACOB Project
3. Integra (also very expensive but cheaper than the one from IBM)
I was able to install and try interga. Works perfect. But I do not have a budget to purchase it.
I was not able to figure out how JACOB works. And was not able to find a solution to my broblem on Yahoo JACOB mailing list.
Is there a JAVA to COM bridge from SUN??? I cannot believe SUN does not provide one.

I think I start figuring out how NJAWIN works.
I was able to load my dll host file and run couple of commands. But only that! no more. I am really having difficult time to figure out how it works. But the hope is there. It works.
According to UML my dll file has a class HostSession and that class has a method Send(); UML does not say that this method expects parameters.
Generated by JAWIN java class says that method Send in HostSession class DOES Expect two parameters:

I can assume that HostCommand is a command that needs to be processed! but what is Transmit?
Is there any support forum for NJAWIN where people who work with NJAWIN share their experience? and even when using NJAWIN I still get this JAVA.EXE Error! memmory cannot be read.

Iam praveen , working on web dynpro's , I imported a project template and repaired it and all the .jar files are included in the project . But still am getting some errors like the below...

Hi praveen,
your project refers to a dictionary that you haven't in the project. Besides, right click on the WD project and check all the external references to others projects. You must open the external projects pointed by your WD.

In the past few months I've been getting more kernel panics than usual. This is on my late 2012 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 Mac Mini, running OS X Yosemite (OS X 10.2.2) with 16 GB of RAM.
Looking at the console logs following the last panic, I can see that immediately before the crash, com.oracle.java.Java-Updater had been spamming my log. Here's a sample:

Java and COM Object out parameters

I have a COM object written in C++ that can't be modified. It has several methods with output parameters.
Can java create an instance of the COM object and pass a reference to a Variant in this case or any objects to be filled by the COM object? My output parameter keeps coming back null, but I know that the COM object is working.

You didn't say anything about how you are bridging java <-> COM.
If it's via JNI, one way you could deal with this is to write a "wrapper" dll that can speak COM, but which can turn the output data into something more palatable to java - say an object that the wrapper can return.

ResourceEntityResolver.java referencing com.sun.java.util.collection

This can be an issue when using Tomcat and upgrading version of Mojarra.
Tomcat will store a file with the extension of .ser in the work directory. This file contains the names of the ServletContextListener instances
that need to be invoked when the application is next started. The problem is that if they use the values in that file and the listeners don't
exist, they don't rescan the application to rebuild the .ser, they just fail.
The way to fix this is to search for .ser files in your web container's work directory and the ones for the web application in question.

Java and COM

Is it possible for a program written in Java to be used as a client for a COM object? If so, how do you access the COM interface from the Java class?

if u want to convert java class to COM component .
there is a tool from microsoft called "javareg".(comes with Microsoft SDK for java)
u'll just have to write a very simple COM wrapper for it.
I'm giving a very simple implementataion example for this .

Java and COM objects

hi all,
i am not sure if this question belongs to this forum, but i was not able to find a proper forum for it
I am trying to generate java classes out of a COM dll. I am using JIntegra-2.0
java classes are generated successfully, however when i try to compile them one of them fails because it cannot find
the class IEnumVARIANT.
That is not part of JIntegra jar file, and i am unable to find a proper Jar for it... could anyone help?

you don't need any "code" from Microsoft VM SDK if you use JACOB (http://danadler.com/jacob/).
you only need the jacob.jar (Java side) in your CLASSPATH and the jacob.dll (COM side) file in your working directory (don't even need to register it!) and off you go.

Java to COM interface suggestions?

I'm looking for suggestions as to how to use a COM (Microsoft's Component Object Model) API from a Java program. Is this known to be easy/impossible/unreliable/commonplace/etc?
Is there any part of the standard J2SE or J2EE library that accomplishes this goal?
There seem to be several third party libraries - which is recommended?
JCom (http://sourceforge.net/projects/jcom/) looks mature but the doc is mostly in Japanese.
JACOB (http://danadler.com/jacob/) refers one to a non-existant page are microsoft.com for documentation.
J-Integra for COM (http://j-integra.intrinsyc.com/products/com/) might fit the bill, but I was hoping to avoid the expense of a commercial solution if possible.
If you have used COM from Java, and have some advice, I would be very interested in hearing it. Thanks!

Another possibility is NewJawin. You can also take a look at Jakarta POI,
but that's not really implemented. There's no good solution, but Jacob and
NewJawin are the two best I've found.

Integrating Java with COM

I am currently working on a migration project where we need to integrate Java with existing COM components. Can someone suggest some commercially/freely available tools which helps you do that? I believe JNI is something which is specifically meant for jobs like this. Does anyone has experience using JNI for such a job?

Error during generation of the WSDL: BUILD FAILED java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/javadoc/Type

When I create an EJB Transport Business Service, after selecting the jar that has the EJB 2.1 artefacts (Remote, Home, etc) the oepe plugin fails and can't continue.
As I understand it seems that there is a problem with the classpath of ant build.xml that oepe creates inside folder /tmp/alsbejbtransport/ to compile the bs and generate the wsdl. I checked if tools.jar is in the classpath (in eclipse) and is included, so I can't figure out wich is the problem.
I found this in Oracle, but not helps solve the problem:

How to Use COM Component in a Java Bean

Dear Sir,
How can I use a COM Component in a Java-Bean . I am having a COM Component for reading Weighment Reading on a Serial Port and want to use this Component in a Java-Bean . I would also like to call the methods of this COM Component inside my Java-Bean . COM Component is a dll file .
Please guide me how to go ahead . If possible kindly provide some sample code for the same .

You need a Java to COM bridge like Jacob. Try searching this forum for more information, I've answered this question several times before.
