Java vs SOAP

I posted this in the JMS section by mistake and as far as I can tell, I can't move posts but have been advised to post this elsewhere. Apologies for the repost in this respect.
I'm having trouble getting Java to successfully act as a SOAP client to an internal server. I have a code example in PHP that works I just can't see what I've missed on the Java side of things as I get the following error:
Message part {https://myserver/webservices/insertPhone}insertPhoneResponse was not recognized. (Does it exist in service WSDL?)
Obviously this sounds like I'm referencing the wrong address but I've tried a few different permutations and I've come to the conclusion that I don't understand where I've gone wrong.
I can access the server via a browser by typing https://myserver/webservices/insertPhone/insertPhoneResponse?argument1=blah&argument2=blah etc.
The relevant parts of the code are as follows:
// ... Create connection with SOAPConnectionFactory (connection)
// create a message with Message Factory and detach the header (sm)
// get SOAPBody (sb)
QName bodyName = new QName(
    "https://myserver/webservices/insertPhone",
    "insertPhoneResponse");
SOAPBodyElement bodyElement = sb.addBodyElement(bodyName);
//Add all the elements for the arguments
//Connect to the server and call method
URL endpoint = new URL(
    "https://myserver/webservices/insertPhone");
SOAPMessage response = connection.call(sm, endpoint);
connection.close();The content of the response is the error mentioned above wrapped in a bunch of SOAP XML. I have returned the full wsdl spec by changing the endpoint to https://myserver/webservices/insertPhone?wsdl so it is connecting to the right place I just don't understand why its not working.
Any hints would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your answer but my question is
if i use below connection parameters, the communication between the ADOBE ES and client will be on SOAP protocol.
I need not to create Java classes using WSDL2Java. am i correct?
ConnectionProps.setProperty("DSC_DEFAULT_EJB_ENDPOINT", http://localhost:8080);
ConnectionProps.setProperty("DSC_TRANSPORT_PROTOCOL","SOAP");
ConnectionProps.setProperty("DSC_SERVER_TYPE", "JBoss");
ConnectionProps.setProperty("DSC_CREDENTIAL_USERNAME", "administrator");
ConnectionProps.setProperty("DSC_CREDENTIAL_PASSWORD","password");

  • Java and SOAP

    I am trying to use Java and SOAP to call a Coldfusion CFC file. The problem is that I can not figure out how to call the coldfusion function by using a url to direct the SOAP request, within java. The cfc file does sql queries on a separate network so I need to send a string parameter to the function and be able to return one back to the java program.
    I have done a lot of internet research and I can not get it to work out right. My coldfusion is working correctly.

    But the Coldfusion server would still have to present a "service". This could be using web services or it could be something as simple as a small HTTP based page to take the parameters and pass back results. Somehow the Coldfusion server must present a service for this to work.
    Think of a standard HTML page with a form on it. What you're describing is similar to that - you take in parameters (the HTML form) and return results (the result from an HTTP POST). Coldfusion is acting as the web server and your Java client is acting as the browser. Until the Coldfusion server is ready to accept requests (in your case SOAP formatted requests) there is not point worrying about the client side (the Java client in your case).
    Is the Coldfusion server presenting something that can run the CFC file and return the results? Again, it could be a web service or even a REST-like service (like I described above) that your client could talk to.

    SOAPMessage reply = connection.call(message, destination);
    (message is the XML code)
    but the application has the following error:
    com.sun.xml.messaging.saaj.client.p2p.HttpSOAPConnection post
    GRAVE: SAAJ0009: Fallo en el envío del mensaje
    I think, maybe is a authentication problem, because the XI server needs it. But I don't have idea how can I send the user and pass

  • Issue about BI JAVA SDK-SOAP request failed with return message 2147483653

    Dear Experts,
    I'm trying to use BI JAVA SDK to connect BW by using XMLA connector.
    But there's an error messaet said :
    SOAP request failed with return message 2147483653 ( Invalid MDX command with INCLUDING)
    I'm really new to this JAVA SDK, and after searching help in SAP Service Market and Google, there's no helpful suggestion.
    please help me about how to fix this error.
    Here is my code:
    IBIConnection connection = (IBIConnection) cf.getConnectionEx(cs);
          IBIOlap olap = connection.getOlap();
          Cube cube = olap.getObjectFinder().
          findCubeFirst((String)null, "ZFI_C11/ZFI_C11_Q001");
        // This is just a sanity check to verify that the
        // cube on which this example relies was retrieved
        if (cube==null){
            System.out.println("no cube found");
    // Didn't print out this message, seems it can connect to BW and get the InfoCube and Query.
        Dimension plantDimension = olap.getObjectFinder().
        findDimensionFirst(cube, "ZPLANT");
      Dimension materialDimension = olap.getObjectFinder().
        findDimensionFirst(cube, "ZMATERIAL");
      IBIQuery query = olap.createQuery(cube);
      IBICommandProcessor commandProcessor = query.getCommandProcessor();
      commandProcessor.moveDimensionToRows(plantDimension);
      commandProcessor.moveDimensionToRows(materialDimension);
      IBIDataSet dataset = query.execute(); // After execute this statement, error happens.
    Thank you!
    Andy

    Solved myself, it's because the query used in my code have user input variable.

  • SSL Error while Consuming Java build SOAP services using Dotnet Console App

    Hi, I want to consume a SOAP service developed in JAVA. I don't have any control on Service side. I have to just consume the SOAP service using my client Application which is in DotNet Console Application using C#. Here is the detail about the service:
    1. The service has SSL configured.
    2. End point looks like: https://xyz.com:443
    3. I am able to connect the service using SOAP UI Tool by configuring the Tool with the certs given by Java developer.
    4. Basically there are two certs used, one for "client authentication" purpose and the second cert is for "WS security" purpose.
    5. When i add the WSDL to my client app as a service Reference, the generated App.config file looks as shown below:
    <configuration>
    system.serviceModel>
    <bindings>
    <basicHttpBinding>
    <binding name="Hello_HTTPBinding">
    </binding>
    </basicHttpBinding>
    </bindings>
    <client>
    <endpoint address="http://localhost:8080/" binding="basicHttpBinding"
    bindingConfiguration="Hello_HTTPBinding"
    contract="Proxy_Hello" name="Hello_HTTPPort" />
    </client>
    </system.serviceModel>
    </configuration>
    6. Basically I need to pass two certs, one cert used for "client authentication" purpose and the second cert is used for "WS security purpose".
    7. I have changed the above client configuration as below marked in RED color text:
    <configuration>
    system.serviceModel>
    <bindings>
    <basicHttpBinding>
    <binding name="Hello_HTTPBinding">
    <security mode="TransportWithMessageCredential" >
    <transport clientCredentialType="Certificate" proxyCredentialType="Basic" realm="" />
    <message clientCredentialType="Certificate" algorithmSuite="Basic128" />
    </security>
    </binding>
    </basicHttpBinding>
    </bindings>
    <client>
    <endpoint address="https://xyz.com:443"
    binding="basicHttpBinding"
    bindingConfiguration="Hello_HTTPBinding"
    contract="Proxy_Hello" name="Hello_HTTPPort" behaviorConfiguration="NewBehavior"/>
    </client>
    <behaviors>
    <endpointBehaviors>
    <behavior name="NewBehavior">
    <clientCredentials >
    <clientCertificate findValue="clientxyz.com" storeLocation="CurrentUser" storeName="My" x509FindType="FindBySubjectName" />
    <serviceCertificate>
    <defaultCertificate findValue="helloabc.com" storeLocation="CurrentUser" storeName="My" x509FindType="FindBySubjectName"/>
    </serviceCertificate>
    </clientCredentials>
    </behavior>
    </endpointBehaviors>
    </behaviors>
    </system.serviceModel>
    </configuration>
    8. I am assuming the cert required for WS security  will be passed using in<serviceCertificate> element, but not fully sure....correct me if I am wrong.
    9. By creating proxy object of the service when I am trying to call the required method I am getting this Error: "Could not establish
    secure channel for SSL/TLS with authority "******xyz.com."
    10. Its working perfect in SOAP UI Tool, generating the Raw XML as shown below in ORANGE color Text:

  • How to convert idml to pdf in java through SOAP?

    Hi All,
    I am very new to INDD Server SDK. My question can be very basic.Sorry for that in advance.  What I need to do is sending an idml file to InDesign CS6 Server and get a PDF back in java. This is required to enable translators translating idml format to preview the translated idml. Is this possible? Are there some code samples about how to do it?
    Thanks a lot.
    Özkan

    Hi ,
    Thanks for your response. Can I convert an IDML file which is located on my local pc, not in server, to pdf or jpeg using server sdk? I have had a look at "Getting Started guide", but still not very clear about how to attain this. How can I create a Document object from local IDML file, for example? Should file exist on INDD Server side?
    Your help is very much appreciated.

  • Java XML / SOAP Newbie Question

    Hello all, I am building a middleware application which needs to import data from a legacy system for processing. I already have a web-based user interfaces and a text file import mechanism to import the data. I would now like to move on to allow XML input, which is new to me.
    My question is... what is the best approach? I know that SOAP is the latest / greatest XML standard, but I've also read that it's purpose is more to remotely call methods than send data. What I'm looking for is the best / easiest platform-independent, protocol standard to send data for processing. Is plain XML better possibly?
    Would I just need to implement a server to listen for the messages? Is there an easy way to create / send test messages?
    Sorry for all the questions, but any help or insight will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    If you just have plain data and you're not concerned with remoting then plain XML is better. SOAP is a way of serializing objects into XML and carries additional overhead if you're not taking advantage of it.

  • Access Java SOAP based web service using WS Security

    Hi,
    I need to call a Java based SOAP webservice which has message level security enabled with Binary Token.
    I have connected to the service using SOAPUI and below is the sample header for the same. I need to achieve the same in my Windows form application from where I am calling the SOAP service over https.
    I am not an expert in WS Security. Need some tips or sample code to achieve this.

  • Java Web Service "clears" sop:Include/ from SOAP Body?

    I have a Java Web Service which processes SOAP Messages with MIME attachments. The references to the attachments are using XOP (XML-binary Optimized Packaging) specification.
    The XML Schema for the SOAP Body content imports the namespace "http://www.w3.org/2004/08/xop/include", but it is not its main target namespace. When I run the service and view the HTTP packet through HTTP Analyzer, the SOAP Envelope looks like this:
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope"
                  xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
                  xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
                  xmlns:ns0="http://www.ACORD.org/Standards/AcordMsgSvc/1"
                  xmlns:xop="http://www.w3.org/2004/08/xop/include"
                  xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd">
        <env:Header>
        </env:Header>
        <env:Body>
            <ac:CallRq xmlns:ac="http://www.ACORD.org/Standards/AcordMsgSvc/1">

    </ac:FileId>
                        <ac:FileFormatCd>text/xml</ac:FileFormatCd>

                </ac:WorkFolder>
            </ac:CallRq>
        </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>But when I access the java.xml.soap.SOAPMessage object in handleRequest(MessageContext) method of the Web Service's handler I get the following:
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope"
                  xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

                  xmlns:xop="http://www.w3.org/2004/08/xop/include"

        <env:Header>
        </env:Header>
        <env:Body>
            <ac:CallRq xmlns:ac="http://www.ACORD.org/Standards/AcordMsgSvc/1">
                <ac:WorkFolder>

                </ac:WorkFolder>
            </ac:CallRq>
        </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>As you can see, the <sop:Include/> element has disappeared.
    Does anyone has an idea why this happens?
    Thank you!
    Simeon

    Neither the simple "setter" methods work.. :(
    The php client side:
    $string="aladar";
    $client->setSample($string);
    $return = $client->getSample();
    The server side:
    public String sample;
    public String getSample() {
    return sample;
    public void setSample(String a_sample) {
    sample = a_sample;
    Any ideas?

  • Web service - eclipse - apache/tomcat - soap - java

    Hi!
    I want to develop a web service. I use eclipse as java ide, and apache as web server. I could not get the information how to develop a web service with my ide and web server. I want to use soap too.
    Anyone will you please help/instruct me to develop a web service.
    Thanks for all...

    bump
    Can any one help me here?
    I have an application that uses SOAP and JNLP. Clients with Java 1.4.2 everything works fine but under Java1.5 the SOAP calls take forever to complete (each is about 4 seconds and there are often a lot of SOAP calls)
    My webserver is Tomcat 5.5.12
    I'm not sure of my soap version, but i believe it is 2.3 (.1? how can i find out)
    I have Java 1.5 and 1.4 installed and Tomcat uses Java 1.5 - I compile my classes for Java 1.4 but I really want Java 5 to work.
    My soap services are deployed and correctly displayed with the SOAP admin page.
    What kind of java 5 soap incomptability might i have found here? can anyone help me.
    B.t.w. from my local computer this problem doesn't happen - Java 1.5 works correctly - it is only when it is on a different computer (even on the intranet) that i have problems.
    Any ideas
    Thanks
    Martin

  • Business logic in a Java Class

    Hi,
    In case of RPC web services why it is necessary to have a stateless
    session bean ? can i have a simple java class instead ?
    thanks and regards
    Vedant

    Hi Vedant,
    WLS 6.1 does not currently support using POJOs (Plain Old Java Objects) as a service
    implementation. I think the reasoning behind this was that WebLogic Web Services
    where designed to "complement" Web Services technology, using "stateless" J2EE
    components and J2EE packaging (i.e. war file, ear file). Seeing as the principle
    network protocol for them (the web services' technologies) is HTTP, which is inturn
    stateless ;-) There's also the factor that J2EE provides enterprise-level capabilities
    (i.e. scalability, transactions, failover, clustering, etc.), that just aren't
    there with a POJO. To me, this is a bit different than the approach being taken
    with Java-based SOAP implementations, like Apache SOAP, that support using POJOs,
    but don't take into consideration the "enterprise-level" aspects (or architectual
    needs/best practices) for Web Services. If you think about the following requirements
    for a given SOAP service, you'll see how using "lightweight" J2EE components has
    merit 1) will be called thousands of times per second, and 2) must have <3 sec
    avg response time, and 3) must have 99.9% uptime/availablity, and 3) must transparently
    failover to another instance of the SOAP service on failure.
