Javascript to copy input fields to another input field..
Hi,
I have Permanent address fields(input text fields) (address line 1,2,city, state , country,zip code) and present address fields with same input fields as premanent address
and i have a check box is present address different with value Y when checked and N when unchecked
so based on the check box checked and unchecked the permanent address should copy to present address.
i dont know how to use java script in adf
so some one please help me to do this.
thanks in advance
cheers
Hi Suchith,
I will tell you how to achieve your case using the framework itself;
1.- Add to your checkbox a setPropertyListener for each field you want to copy. So for the first one addressLine1 I assume the component value resides in your binding layer, you do
from=#{bindings.yourCheckBox.inputValue eq 'Y' ? bindings.addressLine1.inputValue : null}
to=#{bindings.otherAddressLine1.inputValue}
type='valueChange'
And the same for each field. All in the checkbox component.
Since this is a business rule, you should always aim to write this kind of logic in the model layer so you can create a method in your ViewObjectRowImpl named copyAddress() and in there you copy the values from one field to another field. Then you expose this method in the client interface and execute it when clicking the checkbox. Add autosubmit=true and partialTrigger to the panel containing your other fields to be refreshed.
Once again I am making a lot of assumptions about your model, but that is why you always need to first state the version of your JDeveloper, then give a clue about your model and where are the fields being stored and so on. So people can help you better.

Dear All,
I am using LiveCycle Designer 8.2.
I have the following requirement, and did not figure out the best way to implement it using JavaScript.
The Form has, say, Subform A with Repeating Inner Subform, say it has the Education History of the Staff.
I want to put another Subform B, with similar structure to From A, and create a button/function to copy the field data values from A to B.
Subform A will show the user the fields of education with Read-Only Mode.
Subform B will show the user the same data values with write-enable mode. This subform will allow the user update his Education Records.
The fields are:
0. Staff ID: Text (Key 1) (always read-only and hidden, becuase it is on the main form),
1. Degree: Text,
2. Specialization: Text,
3. Institution: Text,
4. Start Date: Date (Key 2),
5. End Date: Date.
Another function is needed is to compare the same records between form A and Form B.
(Note: The Education record of a Staff has primary key of Staff ID and Start Date. Meaning, the Staff cannot have tow different degrees in starting on the same date.)
The user may change the Institution in form B or change the Degree. I need to highlight, on Subform B, the row which was changed or added by the user. This means I need to do lookup against Subform B using the Key Values from Subform A.
I have already developed the Form, and I have about 5 Subforms to allow updated by Staff: Education, Experience Inside the company, Experience Outside the company, Job Skills, Membership Record, ..etc. One thing I did is that the Field Names I used in Subform A are not the same of the fieldname in Subform B, but the have same suffix, and different prefix. For example, for the Education:
Subform A - Original Values:
1. Degree: OrgDegreet,
2. Specialization: OrgSpecialization,
3. Institution: OrgInistitution,
4. Start Date: OrgDateStart (Key),
5. End Date: OrgDateEnd.
Subform B - Updated Values:
1. Degree: UpdDegreet,
2. Specialization: UpdSpecialization,
3. Institution: UpdInistitution,
4. Start Date: UpdDateStart (Key),
5. End Date: UpdDateEnd.
I understand if the Key field is updated, then it is like it was deleted, and added a new one.
I know how to do that in ASP.NET, but need help in Adobe LiveCycle using JavaScript.
Please help me to write these two functions, as they are very urgent requirement.
Tarek.In the event Exit of the 1st subforum.invoice you will find the code to assign the value to it's "brother" on page4.
Also, on the add button i added the code to add a record to the page4 subforum.
To make this work you will have to copy/past the code of the exit event to all fields you want to copy and in the xfa.resolvenode("XXXXXXX[].fieldName") command replace fieldname with the actual name of the field you're at.
I didnt't do anything to te remove line button because i don't know how you want it to work, but, if you want to control the p4 subform with the p1 subform, you shouldn't allow for lines to be removed directly in the p4 subform.
Hope this helps. -
What is the JavaScript to copy the value from a field to the clipboard?
I have a "Save As" Button scripted. But would like the button to first copy the value "SiteCode" so when the user is prompted to enter in the name they can just paste it.
Anybody got any ideas?
ThanksThat's not possible. It is possible to save to an existing folder with a filename derived from one of more field values, but the code that does that save has to be in a folder-level JavaScript file or in a certified document that the user chooses to trust for privileged JavaScript execution. So each user would have to manually install the JavaScript file or manually add the certificate to their list of trusted certificates and specify that it's trusted for privileged JavaScript execution.
I've had good success providing instructions for copying the field name from a form field so that the user can paste it as the field name in the Save As dialog that's invoked using an "Execute a menu item" action (File > Save As), so this might be a viable alternative you can use. -
FW: (forte-users) Copy Input parameter
Peter,
That is the behaviour that I have experienced also, so I do not have such
(anchored service object) attributes in my classes anymore but instead add
that service object attribute as an input parameter to all methods in that
class that require access via that service object attribute.
Alternatively, if access to that anchored service object is only required
in the partition that it was created then overriding the Clone method of
the class to return a NIL value in the service object attribute should
work for you.

When I changes the mechanism to just input in the

So is it a forte feature/bug that a copy input would

RE: (forte-users) Copy Input parameter
Peter,
Just a quick response before I prepare a code sample for you.
Unfortunately, we pay for our sins as a true cloning operation has to take
into account the (potentially) recursive nature of an object graph and
effectively has to do the equivalent of serialising an object graph (as in
parameter passing to remote methods) without going into an infinite loop
when the object graph recurses back into itself.
The Forte runtime does this quite nicely but if you wish to change its
default behaviour, it's a bit of hard work but it's achievable.
So you need to decide. Is it worth it?

Hi,
Interesting solution!
Just to clarify further. How exactly would you
over-write the clone method. New the object and then
clone all the attributes of the existing object to the
new object, excluding whatever attribute you think is
appropriate?

Well. There're 2 ways that I can do it. Avoid copy

Coding my own clone method should be a better
solution. So if you have time, please please descibe

Hi, experts
I have a Z program into one client's enviroment, which works fine. I tried copying this program into another client's enviroment, and i get the following error message, while syntax check:
"RC_IN1 must be a byte-type field. (Typ X or XSTRING)."
And this error is on the following form:

li_bbit type i.
rc_out = space.
if rc_in1 <> space.

get bit sy-index of rc_in1 into li_abit.
get bit sy-index of rc_in2 into li_bbit.

set bit sy-index of rc_out to 1.
else.
set bit sy-index of rc_out to 0.
endif.
enddo.
if rc_out = space.
rc_out = rc_in1.
endif.
endif.
endform.
When I check into one client's enviroment, it does not gives error. Only in THAT client.
Why is this happening?
Thanks in advance,
Brian GonsalesHi,
are the both client environments hav same version (ECC 6).
In ECC 6 version type X is not allowed.
To avoid this problem,
you need to declare the field of TYPE C.
you need to get the value from Cl_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES.

I have created a fillable form. Part of the information from that form needs to be copied and sent to another department at work. Once i complete the fillable form (e.g. select options from a drop down, enter test in test boxes that are on the form) when i copy that section, i only get the non-fillable information pasted into word or notepad, the drop down selections and fillable text do not copy.

How to copy report properties into another report?
I have created one updated list report and I wanted to create another updated list report with same report properties of first one but with different data objects so I don't have to redo properties settings.
I copied first report to another name and I tried to change data objects but It didn't allow me to choose different data object. It says "Data object must contain at least the same fields as in the Original Data object".
Do I have to create another report from scratch?You could edit the report xml.

Javascript to fill text field from other PDF form
I am trying to figure out if it is possible to add javascript to a text field that when initiated pulls text from another field in a closed pdf in the same directory.
For example I have a NAME field in the pdf form I am working in....
When I initiate the script the NAME field is filled in with the same data from another PDF that is closed.I have looked up the 'disclosed' property and it looks like that is what I want to do..
I have "this.disclosed = true" in a PDF with the name field. On the other PDF that I want the information replicated I am going to add a javascript to an action somewhere on the document, my problem is which script do I use to get this data from the other pdf? Is the pdf that is now accessible via javascript (disclosed) a data object? -
Copy DocumentLines object to another DocumentLienes
Hi
Is it possible to copy one documentline to another documetnLine object using DIAPI.
ThxHi,
yes. In the Businessobject you have Document_Lines.
You should get the source Document_Lines-Fields of your source Businessobject and write it to the destination Document_Lines-Fields of your destination Businessobject.
This can be done via the Document-objects fields or via XML.

How to copy one schema into another
I need to copy one schema into another. That means, all the tables, views, constraints, etc, and all the data as well.
I have a dmp file of source-schema (created daily with expdp by our backup schedule).
Can I use impdp to import this dmp file into dest-schema? I'm thinking about something like this:
The dmp file was created with:
expdp source-schema/pwd DIRECTORY=dmpdir DUMPFILE=myproject.dmp
Create the copy on dest-schema with:
impdp dest-schema/pwd DIRECTORY=dmpdir DUMPFILE=myproject.dmp
(dest-schema is an existing schema on the same machine. I'll drop all the tables before executing the command. Is there anything else I should do first?)
If this approach is not feasible, kindly suggest me an alternative.
Thank you.
Edited by: mgro on Apr 16, 2010 3:22 AM (changed 2nd command: expdp to impdp)Thank you both. Dean, I've made a note of your proposed command. May use it next time.
In the end I used the following command and it worked for me. I added TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=REPLACE since the destination was not empty.
First I ran these command logged in as SYS
GRANT Import Full Database TO dest-schema;
GRANT Create Any Directory TO dest-schema;
GRANT Unlimited Tablespace TO dest-schema;
impdp
dest-schema/pwd
DIRECTORY=dmpdir
DUMPFILE=myproject.dmp
REMAP_SCHEMA=source-schema:dest-schema
TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=REPLACE
LOGFILE=implog.log
There were some errors though. The import process complained about constraints referencing non-existent primary keys.
It turns out that the source schema has some constraints that are marked with status DISABLED. These constraints either:
- are not part of the DUMP file
or
- are in the DUMP file but skipped during import
Don't know if this is a bug or by design behavior. -
