JBO-26000 on BC4J examples

Hi,
I've tried to start the BC4J order entry example(only the order online module).
I'm working with JDeveloper 3.2.2 and Oracle DB 8.1.7. on NT.
The deploying goes fine and locally it is possible to test.
But when try to test the example under Middle Tier Server Type EJB I get the following exception:

  • Need Help - JBO-26000 Error on Tomcat?

    I have been deploying my JDev 10.1.3 project (ADF BC) as a .war file to Tomcat 5.5.9 and running it successfully for several months successfully. Today while making code changes, I started to encounter a JBO-26000 error preventing me from running this application. I tried re-installing the ADF filters on Tomcat but this did not help.
    Note! I have another project that I can still deploy and run successfully as a .war file in Tomcat, so it points to something specific to this application.
    Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't know where to look for the problem?
    Thanks.

    I just solved the problem 5mins ago :)
    I'm using Jdeveloper 11g (11.1.1.2.36.55.36) and Tomcat6.
    The point is that it had nothing to do with tomcat jdbc setting in context.xml or server.xml files.
    After deploying your application to tomcat, bc4j.xcfg is the first place to look for errors regarding connection to database.(at least in my case)

    Hi,
    I can reproduce this.
    Create a project containing BC4J.
    Create EO's for Emp and Dept.
    Create default views and their Impl and RowImpl.
    Create a Emp1View extending EmpView but joining in DeptEo.
    Set the join sql.
    create a third EmpView - Emp3View and extend Emp2View adding in another Emp joined in on the first Emp.MGR.
    Create a client to create the appmodule.
    Run - this works fine.
    Create a VL between dept and Emp - 1 to *.
    Run - Exception.

    Hi,
    MDS requires Fusion Middleware and for this reason - other than personalization for user session - is not expected to work for servers where there is no FMW suport. Not sure this is your issue too, but this is what caused the thread in 2010 to fail

  • Too much load on servers possible cause of JBO-26000?

    Hi,
    I'm currently trying to find out what the problem is with our Portal pages (yes, pages with an 's'.. meaning all of 'em). When trying to access the pages, it either returns 'OA Portal Framework Timeout' and, most recently, a 'JBO-26000' generic exception in one of the portlets. (and to add to the problem, none of the other portlets return anything.. not even an error message)
    Since JBOs are messages generated by Oracle ADF Business Components, I was wondering if any of the JDevelopers can confirm the idea that too much load on the servers might actually cause the JBO exception.

    I'm not quite sure about this, but one possible thing that high load causes is a lot of application module recycling. There are all sorts of ways this can cause problems, e.g.:
    - VOs without key attributes that are set to passivate
    - VOs that aren't set to passivate transient attributes combined with an app that expects the values to be there after AM recycling
    -storing important information in fields (as opposed to BC attributes), which don't get passivated

  • JBO-25034 Rollback bc4J/ejb

    When I run the jclient application with a local connection it runs without the specified error.
    The error only occurs when I run it connecting to the oc4j/ejb.
    I investigated a bit and have find out when it was occuring :
    I have a JTable :
    private JTable tableUsrrolView = new JTable() {
    //Override to avoid redundant setValueAt, as Combobox binding will
    //set the value on selection rightaway.
    public void editingStopped(javax.swing.event.ChangeEvent e)
    // Take in the new value
    TableCellEditor editor = getCellEditor();
    if (editor instanceof DefaultCellEditor )
    Component cellEditor = ((DefaultCellEditor)editor).getComponent();
    if (cellEditor == jComboBox1)
    removeEditor();
    return;
    else if (cellEditor == jCheckBox1)
    removeEditor();
    return;
    super.editingStopped(e);
    //Swing JTable calls this method to get the editor for a cell.
    //If the editor is the installed combobox, set selected item in the
    //combobox to the value shown in that cell and return the combobox.
    public Component prepareEditor(TableCellEditor editor, int row, int column)
    if (editor instanceof DefaultCellEditor )
    Component cellEditor = ((DefaultCellEditor)editor).getComponent();
    if (cellEditor == jComboBox1)
    this.setRowSelectionInterval(row, row);
    jComboBox1.setSelectedItem(getValueAt(row, column));
    return jComboBox1;
    return super.prepareEditor(editor, row, column);
    //and in the jbInit I do the following :
    // (if I don't execute the second line then I don't get the error JBO-27019)
    tableUsrrolView.setModel(JUTableBinding.createAttributeListBinding(panelBinding, tableUsrrolView, "UsrrolView1", null, "UsrrolView1Iter", new String[] {"Appabbr", "Rolnam", "Roldsc", "Prcmrk"}));
    jComboBox1.setModel(JUComboBoxBinding.createLovBinding(panelBinding, jComboBox1, "UsrrolView1", null, "UsrrolView1Iter", new String[] {"Appabbr", "Rolnam"}, "ApprolView", new String[] {"Appabbr", "Rolnam"}, new String[] {"AppabbrRolnam", "Rolnam", "Roldsc", "Rolpwd", "Dftmrk"}, null, null));
    tableUsrrolView.getColumnModel().getColumn(0).setCellEditor(new DefaultCellEditor(jComboBox1));
    Is there maybe a workaround to this problem?
    I have tried allready the sync(Re: Problem in Failover of Physical standby database to primary but it didn't help me.

    Could you elaborate on this please. I was able to insert a new row in a JTable with combobox and the combobox was appropriately populated and allowed me to pick a relevant row.
    sorry my mistake, i used the workaround for bug 2394583 as explained in Re: problem: Objects become invalid so easily This code was still in the program and that was causing the problem. So I removed the code : panelBinding.findIterBinding("UsrrolView1Iter").rangeRefreshed(null); And now it works again. (the bug is also fixed:)
    Good. Atleast one issue resolved.
    (Shouldn't it also popup in the bc4j/ejb implementation? This should occur when you traverse out of the row in bc4j/ejb mode. Let us know the steps to reproduce this.
    Just take the example JTableCombo, deploy it as an ejb.
    run against the ejb.
    create a record
    only populate the lov
    click on another row.
    -> you are able to get the focus on that row(and change it).
    -> there is another strange behaviour now and that is when i change the lov of the existing row, the returning values are put in the new row...)
    So also in this example the client-server implementation works fine you get:(oracle.jbo.AttrValException) JBO-27014: Attribute DepartmentId in Mypackage1Module.DepartmentsView is required
    And the focus gets back to the record you created. Lets take this afresh. Now you have a ComboBox in a JTable.
    Bc4j/AM is deployed as ejb.
    You create a new row in the table, you drop the combobox down and select some (which I do not think is relevant here) and click on another row.
    ->That allows you to change focus to another row without any exception - the expected exception is AttrValException for a mandatory field.
    DId I miss something here?
    I tried this and was unable to reproduce this. When I focused on to another row without filling in the mandatory field, I did see the AttrValException. Also the focus went back to the new row.
    I've deployed my BC4J as EJB Session bean into OC4J/Embedded

  • Getting jbo-26080 from BC4J Tester

    I just created a master-detail relationship in Jdev 3.2 BC4J. I want to test the relationship in the Tester. I am able to insert one detail record for the master. When I am trying to insert the second detail record I am getting the following error message:
    oracle.jbo.DMLException
    JBO-26080: Error while selecting entity for ReferenceTargets (where 'ReferenceTargets' is my detail entity object).
    These are the errors I am getting through the tester.
    Now I created my JSP pages. If I create everything with Datawebbeans, its working fine. But I have a combination of Datawebbeans (view form) and Datatags (Edit, Insert forms). What I am noticing is when I want to insert one detail record, its inserting 2 records in the database (same kind of behaviour I noticed in the tester also). One record is what I entered and the other with null values.
    I am not understanding what's happening. If JDEV team can look into this issue as early as possible, I will really appreciate.
    My project is at the last stage and this is very critical to us.
    Thank you in advance
    Virinchi

  • RowSetInfo; bc4j; how to get the View Object

    So I'm trying to get/update/insert/delete records in a database that contain an interMedia image in a blob.
    I've figured out that I can't simply set the ImmediateAccess attribute. It doesn't like that...
    So I'm trying to go after the view object, since the interMedia white paper uses a VO row setAttribute to accomplish the write.
    RowSetInfo extends ResultSetInfo which has a method getViewObject(). Cool.
    So I try it... and get an error that getViewObject() has protected access.
    Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Or should I be even taking this approach?!?!?!
    If I go exclusively with the VO layer... how do I preserve the navigationBar functionality? Or do I need to roll my own?
    ( NOTE: This hilights another example of the perception of 'friction' between rowsetinfos and the view objects/entity objects. An approach that makes "sense" to me as a naive novice didn't pan out. And oddly, most of the bc4j examples go against VOs when, if you are an application programmer, you may never see or use the VO methods ( although it looks like we should be)... we're working at the ResultSetInfo layer. )
    Is the the observation of other folk who are building Java Applications/Applets? Or do you all work directly with VOs instead of going through the ResultSetInfo "layer"?

    Here is some sample code that I am currently working on and will post on OTN when complete. The code shows how to access a BC4J Domain based on an Oracle type. Working with interMedia is similar since interMedia utilizes Oracle Object types. Please note that I have not tested this yet against interMedia, but I'm hoping that you may find the general process useful.

  • UIX/BC4J:  Page properties/Events/Methods

    The following is code for a UIX page event handler and a method that attempts to locate the data that is selected from a bc4j:table, use it, and then handle redirection to the next page.
    I had to comment out the setPageProperty block due to an error, oracle.jbo.Key, that keeps the method from running. This also means my page property is not available for use by the method.
    When the method runs I expected to be able to see the row that was selected in the table by virtue of the findRowByKey ... keyBinding ... selectionKey. Instead, the return value for the line: Row row = vo.getCurrentRow(); is always the last record in the view object.
    This led me to the alternative plan to create a page property for the selectedKey and use vo.getRow(key) to get the record. This won't work for me because I can't get the page property to work.
    Can you help me with my understanding/syntax please?
    **** UIX Event Handler ****
    <event name="getemployee">
    <bc4j:findRootAppModule name="AppModule">
    <bc4j:findViewObject name="VO">
    <bc4j:findRowByKey>
    <bc4j:keyBinding>
    <bc4j:selectionKey name="viewTable" key="key"/>
    </bc4j:keyBinding>
    <bc4j:handlers>
    <!-- Gives page error: oracle.jbo.Key -->
    <!--
    <bc4j:setPageProperty name="selectedKey">
    <bc4j:selectionKey name="viewTable" key="key"/>
    </bc4j:setPageProperty>
    -->
    <method class="PageController" method="getInfo" />
    </bc4j:handlers>
    </bc4j:findRowByKey>
    </bc4j:findViewObject>
    </bc4j:findRootAppModule>
    </event>
    **** Method that should use page property to display record from view object. ****
    public static synchronized EventResult getEmployeeInfo(BajaContext context,
    Page page,
    PageEvent event) {
    ViewObject vo = ServletBindingUtils.getViewObject(context);
    String selectedKey = page.getProperty("selectedKey");
    System.out.println("selectedKey: " + selectedKey); //null
    // I am hoping to get the property here.
    //Row row = vo.getRow(selectedKey);
    Row row = vo.getCurrentRow();
    System.out.println("Current Info- Item1:" + row.getAttribute("Item1") +
    ", Item2: " + row.getAttribute("Item2"));
    }

    Hello Vincent,
    I'm not sure why it does not work. Perhaps you haven't set the keystamp in your table?
    <bc4j:keyStamp>
    <bc4j:rowKey name="key"/>
    </bc4j:keyStamp>
    Besides your code tries to get the row in two times. Once in your event handler and ones in your method. That's not necessary, just do it once, either in your UIX page or in your Java method.
    If you do it in your UIX page, you can get the row directly in your method. Here is an example:
    UIX
    <bc4j:findRootAppModule name="appModule">
    <bc4j:findViewObject name="viewObject">
    <bc4j:findRowByKey>
    <bc4j:keyBinding>
    <bc4j:selectionKey name="viewTable" key="key"/>
    </bc4j:keyBinding>
    <bc4j:handlers>
    <method class="..." method="doSomething" />
    </bc4j:handlers>
    </bc4j:findRowByKey>
    <bc4j:executeQuery/>
    </bc4j:findViewObject>
    </bc4j:findRootAppModule>
    Then you can access row in your method
    Row row = (Row)bajaContext.getProperty("http://xmlns.oracle.com/uix/bc4j", "row");
    Regards,
    Christian
