Jbuilder 8 problem

hi!
im using borlands jbuilder 8 , if i want it to use pictures where do i position them ?
is there a certain method in the studio ?
cause it never finds my pictures no matter what even though i checked it outside the jbuilder and it worked.

you may need to import the pictures into your progect like when you import a class file. it should work

  • Jbuilder compiler problem with xml DOM - please help.

my problem is that I am using jbuilder 4 professional to compile/run my code.
However I want to use the XML DOM but jbuilder does not appear to support the necessary packages for use with XML.
How can I get round this.
Can I compile instead from the command line - I am using JDK1.4 which supports the java xml packages necessary. Or is there a way of adding the necessary files to my project?
    thanks, B

Add the required jar files to your project properties->classpath in JBuilder
The only problem is that. I have been using JBuilder without any problems.

  • JBuilder debug problem

    Hi,
I'm using JBuilder 4 ( I know its pretty old but we can't afford to keep upgrading...) and I've just reached a problem with the debugger.
My project has dozens of included libraries and as such the command line created by JBuilder has got longer and longer until now, when I get:
-- IOException starting Java runtime process --
java.io.IOException: CreateProcess: C:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\bin\javaw -classic -classpath "long piece of text containing all the classpaths, which is then cut off, presumably because the process has run out of environment spac"
Oh yes, and I'm running on Windows 2000.
I'm guessing that either Windows or JBuilder have run out of environment space for this process. Has anyone else had this? If so, was there a workaround - I couldn't see anything on JBuilder and the Borland site isn't particularly informative.
Also, JBuilder puts in some of its own jars:
    C:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\demo\jfc\Java2D\Java2Demo.jar;C:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\jre\lib\i18n.jar;C:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\jre\lib\jaws.jar;C:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\jre\lib\rt.jar;C:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\jre\lib\sunrsasign.jar;C:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\lib\dt.jar;C:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\lib\tools.jar
which help to take up the environment space. I'm pretty sure that Java2Demo is not essential to my project, not sure about the others. Does anyone know how I can remove these from my debugger command line?

To remove libraries from your command-line, in JBuilder 4, do the following:
With your project open, click on the Project menu, then Project Properties (2nd from bottom). In the dialog, there's a tabbed pane, click on the 3rd option ('Required Libraries'), then select the libraries you want to remove and click on Remove. (Try removing all, then rebuild the project. If it complains, you have to add some back)
Removing the libs from the project doesn't remove the libs from disk, it just tells the compiler that for the given project it doesn't need to add those libs to the classpath.

  • JBuilder/package problem

I'm going to 'port' my website to servlet tech, so after developing the thing on paper I wanted to write some test codes.
There was no javax.servlet(.http) package! I found it with tomcat server and tried to put it to JBuilder2005/lib, also edited CLASSPATH (I use windows (--sux), from Control Panel>System>Advanced>Enironment Vars), but it doesn't work. I tried to Configure Libraries (in JBuilder), but found to servlet lib there. So I added manually, but it still doesn't work. By the way this project sees only it's only class MyServlet! servlet package still doesn't appear in javax. By the way I have JavaMail package, for example, in Libs there, but it isn't available to use either. What's going on?

    Hi,
That's not how you are supposed to configure new libraries. Create a project, and select properties on it. Then click on the tab required libraries and add it there.

  • Problem with JBuilder and javax.xml.transform package

    Hi,
My JBuilder 7 can not find javax.xml.transform package. i use javax.xml.parsers package but i can not access to javax.xml.transform. is there a problem or something necessary to do to access that?
    Best Wishes - WiseWarrior

    Hey WiseWarrior,
your problem is directly related to your jar file in run time. The xml parser jar which you are using to perform transfor is not having the appropriate classes, take the latest version of xalan it has transform package and put it into your class path, it will work.
    CheerS!!

  • Kodo 3.1.5 - JBuilder X Integration Problem

    Hi,
I am a newbie to both JBuilder X and Kodo, but I need to get a legacy application working with that environment (for maintenance purposes).
My issue seems basic, but heck if I can figure it out. I am trying to configure Kodo to work with JBuilder. All I change in the Kodo 3.1.5 Configuration Utility is setting the "Connection Driver" to: "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver". When I try to save this, I get the following exception:

So, it appears that it cannot find the Oracle class (oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver). The ojdbc14.jar is in both my "required libraries" and my "classpath" for the JBuilder Project.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong here?
    Thanks, in advance.

No, we didn't try that option, however since the error was restricyed to

Didn't we hear this from you yesterday? Sounds too familiar. If so, we told you you're using a MICROSOFT product (Visual J++), which is OLD, and not up to the SUN's java specification. We suggested that you dump Visual J++ and go with something like JBuilder, Forte, Visual Cafe, etc.
This is a SUN site in support of SUN's java - not Microsoft's outdated and non-existent (anymore) version.

  • Jbuilder 6 enterprise and weblogic server 6.1 integration problem

    hello,
i am using jbuilder 6 enterprise and weblogic server 6.1. i just got a new
workstation and imported my old project from cvs into jbuilder and
everything is fine up to this point.
the application in question is using servlet filters, so i absolutely need
web application version 2.3. it seems, though, that my jbuilder believes for
some reason that only tomcat 4 and borland enterprise server are capable of
using servlet filters. i cannot remember how i fixed this last time around,
but i did somehow. i had a recollection that the jb6_all_001 patch did the
trick, but obviously it didn't this time, at least. what is really annoying
is that the wizard does not allow me to create servlet filters and the
webapp dd editor does not allow me to configure filters, either. of course,
i can edit web.xml manually, but starting the server changes the dtd back to
2.2 and removes everything that is 2.3 specific.
    please help me fix this?

at the moment it is possible for me to work, though. i worked around the
problem and i set web.xml as a read only file. i still can't use wizards to
create servlets and i can't edit web.xml with jbuilder.

  • Problem with my JBuilder Program

I have a problem to compile this program with JBuilder 8.0
He told me, each time like what my import file not working.
    Best regards,
    Nicholas
First Error Messages: !Class test_rectangle is public; must be declared in a file named test_rectangle.java at line 17
Second Error Messages: "rectangle.java": Error #: 901 : package . stated in source E:\JBuilder 8\samples\Welcome\rectangle\src\rectangle\rectangle.java does not match directory .
    import java.util.*;
    import java.io.*;

    private int a;//lenght variable;
    private int b;//width variable;
public rectangle (int x, int y){//constructor
    a=x;
    b=y;
public int surface (int x, int y){//function (method)

rectangle rectangle1=new rectangle (3,4);//on a donner le nom du rectangle
    System.out.println (rectangle1.surface (3,4));//on applique une methode a l objets

    Two problems.
    1) You have your rectangle class in src/rectangle which means that it needs to be declared in package 'rectangle'.
    2) You cannot have more than one public class in a file. The file has to have the same name as the class with a ".java" extension.
You can solve (1) by adding this to the top of your file:
    package rectangle;
or by moving the file to src.
You can solve (2) by removing the public modifier from your internal class or moving it to it's own file (test_rectangle.java).

  • JBuilder 8 plugin problem

I downloaded the SunOne AppServ7, Plugin for JBuilder 8 to use, and followed the steps in your user guide. However, I found the following problems:
    1. from appsrvSUNJB8.jar, one class or jar is missing => account.jar
    2. When I re-open the Jbuilder project file, the plugin will cause Jbuilder cannot re-open its project file.
Could you please let me know how to solve this or any workaround exists?
    Thanks,
    Su-Che Liao.

Can you provide more details about the errors you are encountering?
    1. What makes you think that account.jar is missing? What is the text of the error message that you are seeing? When do you see this message?
    2. Same questions....
    Thanks,

  • JBuilder 2005 Trial Installation problem

Just if someone else stumbles over the same problem after downloading jbuilder 2005 trial version (or upcomming foundation too I guess), installation might be a problem. The message:
"Cannot find .... Install.exe on the CD" pops up!
That is due to spaces in path to the install file! Just move the files to a path without spaces, and all will be fine.
    Gil

Ain't Google great? It would have taken me eons to figure out what was going wrong!
Another note: the installation says to remove JDK 5.0 and use the JDK 1.4.2 contained in the installation. However, you need an installed JRE to perform the install.

  • JBuilder 5 and WebLogic 6.1 Problem  (1) ??

I use JBuilde5 and WebLogic 6.1 to develop a statusful session bean.

I think there are some setting I miss in WLS default server , Who can help
me to find the question answer ??
    Thank in advance ....

    Thank Chuck ...
Finally , I find the problem which is not the deployment in mydomain or
    exampleserver
I find the problem is that JBuilder 5 can not deploy EJB fine into WLS6.1.
You should deploy EJB by using WLS6.1 console and then JNDI Lookup will
    success.
If you do that , the same EJB redeployment thru JBuilder 5 afterward are all
    fine,
That is why I always fail in mydomain but success in example server
because I have ever deployed the EJB by WLS6.1 console manually.
I think the deployment mechanism between WLS6.1 and WLS 6.0 is different.

    Alan,
Given that it works in the 'examples' domain, are you sure you deployedthe jar
file that contains the EJB in the 'mydomain'? If it wasn't deployedsuccessfully
for the default 'mydomain' you would receive a failure on the JNDI lookup.
I would read thru some of our online documentation on jar deployments andthe
domain concepts - - here are some relevant links

  • Problem with a  web service with Jbuilder 2005 and Weblogic 8.1

    Hi,
im trying to create a web-service using Jbuilder 2005 Enterprise and Weblogic 8.1. It is a very simple web-service, come kinda "Hello World".
In the last step, after deploying my "ApplicatioModule1", i get this error:
"Unable to connect to server t3://localhost:7001 as user weblogic.

I dont know why i get this error. I think the weblogic server is properly configured and running.
    Anybody can help me?? Thx.

i have found the solution to the problem myself. I only had to execute this command file startWebLogic.cmd which is placed in this default installation directory C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain in order to put the server listening to ports.
i hope anybody with the same problem could fix it by reading this post.

  • Jbuilder problem?

    hi,
i am using jbuilder foundation and i get a "Exception during paint(): java.lang.NullPointerException" error as soon i click on the designer tab for my frame. i have 3 combo boxes on the frame along with other components but i use my own class for the combo box that extends the normal one cause i wanted to be able to select multiple items from my combo box. now i think that jbuilder dosent recognise my extended combo box as a combo box and cant paint it . when i run the program everything works fine, this problem only happens when i click on the designer tab, its a pain cause it wont paint anything on the form and i cant really add other components cause i cant see where my stuff is. or is this problem because of something else?

ResourceBundles without a leading / are extended using the package of the calling class.
ImageIcon reads a file from current directory.
    To resolve your issue:
    either
Use "/translation_en_GB" (probably should drop your "manual" Locale in favor of the automatic search pattern)
    or
Mode your resource to the directory of the calling class
