    Hi Viswa,
    You can try with a service entry in the portal host. Go to Windows system in path "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\services"
    Add a entry - sapms<SID> 36xx/tcp where xx is the instance number of the R/3 message server (like - sapmsPRD 3600/tcp)
    Hope it helps.

  • JCO creation takes long time

    Hi,
    There is some problem with our portal while creating JCo Connection.
    It takes very long time to create new JCo connection on development server . If i create Jco connection of same applicationon on other server(Qlty, prod), it takes very less time than development.
    I am facing this problem from last few weeks, before it was working fine.
    Regards,
    Jigar Oza

    Hi,
    If the JCO connection creation is taking long time on development compared qlty, prod servers then it may be due to various reasons;
    1. The H/W , system performance may not good.
    2. Web server applications may be hanging up due to insufficient buffer, speed;
    3. The Network you are using may not fast;
    So please chk all of them & get support from ur basis team;

    Is your backend system configured correctly in your SLD ?
    Go to transaction SMMS on your backend system that your are connecting to. Click on Goto=>Parameters=>Display. Look for "server port" value.
    This should give you the TCP/IP port for your message server. It could be 3600 or 3601 (36NN - where NN is the instance number).
    In your services file, if you made the entry at the end of the file, press Enter (Return) after your entry.
    Try restarting your server after making the above changes.

  • Buttons not enabling for JCO Creation in SLD

    Hi Experts,
    When i logged in into my Webdynpro Content Administrator with administrative rights, all the button like Create JCo Destination, Maintain JCo Destination and Start assigned SLD are getting disabled expect Check SLD Connection Button.
    Moreover, displaying a message : "Connection to System Landscape Directory (SLD) could not be opended successfully." at the bottom of the screen.
    When i click on the Check SLD Connection Button and then Test Connection, it gives again the same message i.e "Connection to System Landscape Directory (SLD) could not be opended successfully."
    Now, When i click on the Check SLD Connection Button and then Start SLD, SLD server is staring and running.
    Another thing is, When i am starting my sld server from logging in into http://<hostname>:<port>/sld, SERVER status is running. I stopped it and again started, then it is starting, but giving an error message as:
    "Failed to send start signal for complete cluster, SLD may still be stopped on other cluster nodes."
    When saving any parameters like profile information, it is not saving and saying error as:"
    Cannot save profile settings CIM_ERR_FAILED: Failed to initialize cluster notification sender."
    My setting are correct in SLD Data Supplier in Visual Administrator. I had filled the host/port/user/password information for both "HTTP Settings" and "CIM Client Generation Settings".
    It went worked well earlier, i come across this problem recently with my sld.
    Another thing that i noticed is when i click on the "CIMClient Test" button, its getting an error message saying "Failed to Generate and Test CIMOMClient Object". But, ealier it came as successfull.
    I have full authorization to use admin tools.
    What might be the problem.
    any help must be appreciated.
    regards
    sunil kumar

    Hi Sunil,
    We just had this issue couple of days before, this has to do with the JMS Provider Authorization. We did the following steps to solve our issue:
    I. Default security configuration of JMS resources is in place (this is by far the most common scenario) and named anonymous users have been created.
    Change the mapping of the "clients" jms role as follows:
    1. Start the Visual Admin
    2. Browse the tree in the left pane
    <SID> -> Server 0 -> Services -> Security Provider
    3. The "Policy Configurations" tab should be selected by default on the right hand side
    4. Select the "service.jms.default.authorization" node from the "Components" list (should be the nineth entry from the top down)
    5. Select the "Security Roles" tab
    6. Select the "clients" node from the security roles list
    7. You should see on the right hand side "Security Roles" list in which the "guests" node is marked
    8. Switch to edit mode by pressing the change button on top (pencil icon). The "Modify" button should now become active
    9. Press the "Modify" button
    10.Select the "all" entry from the "Security Roles" list. The "Groups" pane should show one entry named "Everyone"
    11. Press the "Save" button
    12. Restart the cluster so that JMS and applications using it can reliably reinitialize.
    Check
    Note 971249 - JMSServerSecurityException thrown accessing JMS resources
    for more details.
    Hope this helps!

  • What's the Name and PWD in JCO Creation ?

    Hello All,
            I want to create a JCo Connection.
    These are the steps which I've followed :-
    1. Logged on to the Portal with username and PWD.
    2. Went to the WebDynpro Tab.
    3. Clicked on Create JCo Connection
    4. Entered the details :-
                    NAME : Test_Meta_Data
                    Client :   800
    <b>Note: I gave the client number of the SAP backend system . Is it right ?</b>
    5. J2EE Cluster : I have only one server in the DropDown and it's already selected.
    So I choosed the next step.
    6. Connection Type : DICTIONARY META DATA
    7. Application Server Connection :-
                  Message Server : Only one server I have in the DropDown and so I selected that.
    8. Security :
            Use Method   : USER / PASSWORD
            Name            : sapuser
            PWD             : server
           Confirm PWD  : server
           SNC               : OFF
    9. Finish.
    When I press Finish I'm getting a message :-
    " failed to create a new JCo Connection Test_Meta_Data
    Error while obtaining JCo Connection. "
    Can any one help me in resolving this ?
    Regards,
    Deepu:k

    Hi Deepu,
    Firstly,
    Yes, The details u enter while creating JCO connection are for the SAP system,
    So <i>Client, UserName, Password</i> are for SAP system(Backend) you are creating JCO for.
    Secondly, About the error u r getting,
    Error says " failed to create a new JCo Connection Test_Meta_Data"
    that means the SLD user has not sufficient authorization to create JCO.
    In Visual Administrator, in <b>SLD Data Supplier</b>
    You would have given SLD connection settings, there you have to give the user which has sufficient authorization<i>(Admin authorizations)</i> to create JCO connection..
    Check the current user given in <b>SLD Data Supplier</b>.
    Hopefully your problem will be solved.
    Regards
    Deepak

  • Run Time JCo Creation

    Hi All,
           I have to create JCO at runtime. Based on the SAP client ID, user id,password and system number i have to create JCO. Predefined JCO configuration for a client number thru Portal, is not useful, because i don't know how many users will logon at a time? So, i wish to create JCO based on the user inputs at run time.
    I used the following code to create JCO at runtime.
    try {
       mConnection = JCO.createClient("sapclient",
       "userid","password",lanuage,"appserver name", "system number");
    mConnection.connect();
    }catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace();
        System.exit(1); }
    After creating, i got all information like(username,appserver name,system number, etc.)
    At this stage i got JCo connection name like 'mConnection'. My question is how to move to next step using mConnection?.
    The JcoConnection contains some methods like   mConnection.execute(parameter).
    1. Is it possible to execute BAPI using JcoConnection created at runtime?
    2. How to execute BAPI using JcoConnection created at runtime?
    3. Is it necessary to create a model through the wizard in NWDS?
    4. If i use execute() method, what are the parameters to be given?
    Please help me.
    Kind Regards,

  • JCo creation for multiple backend systems

    Hi Experts,
        I have an application in which i am using two different backend systems. I have used three RFCs  in my application, in which two RFCs are referring same backend system while 3rd RFC is pointing to another backend system .
        Now my doubt is, Is it possible to use a single JCo connection for this application ...?
        OR if i use 2 or 3 JCos then which one will give better performance...?
    Thanks in advance,
       JP

    Hi One Jco connection to one R/3 System gives more performance.
    even end users increases also we can maintain based on configurations(by increasing connection pool)

  • Model and Metadata in JCO creation

    Hi all,
    I am having dout regarding Modeldata and Metadata.For example i am having 2 function modules.Is it that the name given to the fields " Default logical name for model instances " and
    "Default logical name for metadata instances " should be same for both the function modules as WD_BAPI_MODELDATA_DEST and WD_BAPI_RFC_MODELDATA_DEST so that JCO connection created for the above 2 names can be used for all the function modules
    Regards
    Padma N

    Hi Chaitanya,
                 For example i want to work with 5 function modules in my application.So while creating model i used model data and metadata as
    Modeldata Name : WD_BAPI_MODELDATA_DEST
    MetaData : WD_BAPI_RFC_MODELDATA_DEST
    and i selcted all the 5 function modules and i clicked finish.
    If i delpoy the application now and tried to create JCO connection the above 2 names are visible with red button besides them.
    If i create JCO connection for the above model and metaData instances will the 5 function modules will work fine or not

  • Regarding JCO Creation

    Hi,
    We were trying to create JCO in a newly installed system and for a super admin user it was saying no authorization. So we just logged into Visual Administrator and added the user to Administrator group using Securoty Providers services. Now I am able to view the JCO list , but cannot create a new one or edit the existing one ( it is in display mode). Also when we tried the same thing using J2EE_Admin, the same thing happens. Even the logs saying Access denied,
    Your suggession on this is highly appreciated
    Kind Regards,
    Vivek.

    Hi,
    Make sure that you have properly configure SLD and connection test to SLD should be successfull.
    Thanks,

  • How to create a model and JCO connection

    Hi all,
             The Userid and Password given while creating new model at Singleserver/Load balancing tab should be same as the userid and password given while creating JCO connection. i.e in JCO creation  while mapping modeldata to Application data and Metadata to metadata we will give some userid and password.
    will those 2 userids and passwords should be same.
    the error which i am getting is
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.modelimpl.dynamicrfc.WDDynamicRFCExecuteException: Error connecting using JCO.Client: null

    2 userids and passwords need not be same
    i got similar problem and this is how i resolved
    this is because jco connections are Using SSO and the user who is accessing that webdynpro application is not present in the backend system.
    please make sure user is there in the backend system from which you are getting data
