JCO Error Message

Hi,
Background - We are trying to configure EP with SRM SUS. When we try to create a JCo connection, We are getting this error -
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM  TYPE=B MSHOST=sapupd GROUP=SPACE R3NAME=SRM MSSERV=sapmsSRM PCS=1 LOCATION    CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR       service 'sapmsSRM' unknown TIME        Wed Oct 10 14:58:03 2007 RELEASE     700 COMPONENT   NI (network interface) VERSION     38 RC          -3 MODULE      niuxi.c LINE        1725 DETAIL      NiPGetServByName2: service 'sapmsSRM' not found SYSTEM CALL getservbyname_r COUNTER     3
Any pointers will be of great help. BTW we are beginners in the EP domain

Did the addition to the services file, now I am getting the similar error..
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM  TYPE=B MSHOST=sapupd GROUP=SPACE R3NAME=SRM MSSERV=sapmsSRM PCS=1 LOCATION    CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR       service 'sapmsSRM' unknown TIME        Wed Oct 10 15:27:51 2007 RELEASE     700 COMPONENT   NI (network interface) VERSION     38 RC          -3 MODULE      niuxi.c LINE        1725 DETAIL      NiPGetServByName2: service 'sapmsSRM' not found SYSTEM CALL getservbyname_r COUNTER     2
Only change is the counter which changed from 3 to 2.
Thanks.

  • JCo error message (worked with older JCo version)

    Hello,
In the past I successfully used the JCo 2.0.7.
Now I downloaded JCo 2.1.3 and replaced the librfc32.dll and sapjcorfc.dll in system32 with the DLLs from the new JCo distribution.
My Java test program now gives the error below:
My classpath is of course correct. If I reset my DLLs to the old versions, my test program works again.
    Can you help?

  • CUP 5.3 (SP9) Error message when creating a JCO Destination

    Dear Experts,
When I try to create a new JCo Destination in Web Dynpro Content Administrator, I get the following error message and I cannot create a connection in CUP:
"com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts"
Please give me some advice if you can.
    Thanks,

    >Hi,
    > "com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Password logon no longer possible - too many failed >attempts"
As you can clearly see that logs are stating that user you are entering in JCO destination to connect to backend system has wrong password.
Check the password of the user that you are entering in JCO destination.
    Thanks

  • RFC Connection error message while Debug the running WebDynpro app

    Dear friends,
I am trying to debug WebDynpro application.
After configuring the NWDS with the J2EE server instance, I try to run the WebDynpro application, which I want to debug.
I did selecting the application and run after putting breakpoint at a button click.
But the webdynpro application uses 2 JCo destiantions, and so it gives JCOClientConnection for logical System: ... Please assure that you have configured the RFC connections and/or logical system name properly for this model! message.
If I run the same application from the portal, it doesn't give such error message.
Can anybody help me how can I run the WebDynpro application for debug purpose without getting this error message?
    Thanks and regards,
    Lakshmikanthaiah

    Hi,
are you running the application on the same server? Or are you using the Debugmode on your local installation.
If so, you should check the JCO Destinations on you local server.

  • Jco: Error Connecting using sapgw04

    Hi,
I have a problem using Jco to connect to a SAP-System.
I'm trying to connect to SAP using the following configuartions:
         sysnr:           04
         GWServ:      sapgw00
         GWHost:      XXX.YYY.com
         ASHost:      XXX.YYY.com
The code to create a repository for this configuration is:
JCO.addClientPool(poolname, maxpoolsize, "538", "username", "password", "DE",
                   "XXX.YYY.com", "04", "XXX.YYY.com", "sapgw00");
When I use this pool to get a function I get an Exception:
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (123) JCO_ERROR_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND: Server repository could not create function template '[FUNCTIONNAME]'
caused by: com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect from SAP gateway to RFC server failed

         SAP-Gateway on host h33e / sapgw00
    ERROR       partner not reached
         (host XXX.YYY.com , service <b>sapgw04</b>)
The strange thing is the sapgw04 in the error-message.
Somehow JCO wants to use sapgw04 to connect to the RFC-Server. Is this an error in the SAP-Configuration or do I have to change the configuration of Jco?
How can I tell Jco not to use sapgw04 but sapgw00?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    Torsten

    Hi Torsten,
please check how you log on to your system.  You are giving a system number 04, which corresponds to sapgw04.  I'm not sure why the method needs all the information, seems to be duplicate to me (please comment if I'm wrong); it should be sufficient to use:
    addClientPool(String key,
       int max_connections,
       String client,
       String user,
       String passwd,
       String lang,
       String ashost,
       String sysnr)
If you don't want to use sapgw04, just specify "00" for the sysnr.
    Hope this helps, harald

Can you please advice me here.
    Thanks,
    Vivek.

    Vivek,
open the services file of your portal server box. This file will be in the location C:\WINDOWS or WINNT\system32\drivers\etc folder. In that enter an entry as below:
    sapmsED0   36XX/tcp
where XX is the system no of your R/3 system. So if R/3 system number is 30 the line would be sapmsED0  3630/tcp.
Save the file and then try accessing iView again. This error message would be going off.

    Hi,
Looks like you have passed data in wrong format to RFC input parameter.
    Your format: DDMMYYYY (03042008)
    Expected: YYYYMMDD
I would use a graphical mapping function "DataTrans" to convert date format from DDMMYYYY to YYYYMMDD.

  • Displaying BEx Error Messages in WebI

    Hi
Is it possible to have the BEx error messages displayed in a WebI Report?
We have various scenarios where an error message is returned from customer exit variables, which is displayed nicely in the browser if the BEx query is executed, but is not shown at all when the same query is run in a WebI document.
Is there a way to get this done?
    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
a very good suggestion of course, but sadly missing from the XI3.1 integration scenario.
My understanding is that the BW OLAP BAPI (as used externally by WebI, via MDX universes) does not surface these error messages natively .. so this warning isn't sent to the front-end
To some extent, this problem also remains in BI4.0 where the JCo error-handling still isn't fully captured between APS DSL Bridge and the BW BICS API . (unless low level tracing is enabled)
would be interesting to know what tips might be out there in the ecosystem, but i haven't seen any match winners to date.
