JDBC for SQLServer

Hi!
I'm trying to make the JDBC driver from Weblogic to cache all
the rows in a query once and not have to retrieve it in block sizes.
If I have a 1000 rows is it possible for the JDBC driver for SQLServer
download all 1000 rows at once and not have to hit the SQLServer
again?
Thanks!
-Kan

I monitored the network traffic on the wire and not all the rows were
downloaded. There are other JDBC drivers
that have a flag for clientcursor and that downloads all the rows when I
view the packets on
a network monitor. Is there such a flag in weblogic's JDBC?

I was under the impression that JDBC mandated that all of the results from
an SQL query be loaded into the ResultSet and therefore available inmemory.
So, they should be cached by default.
Thanks,

  • Which jdbc driver should be used for sqlserver 2000 and where to put it.

    hi all,
    My odi is 11g. I met the error infor "Could not load JDBC driver class [com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver]" when i tried to connect to a sqlserver2000 database.
    The questions are:
    1. which jdbc driver should be used for sqlserver 2000?
    2. which folder to put it in?
    3. how to set the physical topological "Microsoft Sql Server" to use this jdbc driver?
    failed tries:
    i downloaded the driver "SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC Service Pack 2" and put it in the following folders:
    1. .../oracledi/drivers, and set this path to CLASSPATH.
    2. .../oracledi/userlib didn't exist, i created it and put the driver in.
    3. .../oracledi/agent/dirvers, in which a readme file exists and told me to put drivers in this folder.
    All these works were not useful. when I start odi.sh and try to connect to sqlserver2000 database, the same error infor came up.
    my environment is:

    Hi,
    You should check which JVM version is required by that version of the driver, I think the 2.x versions require a 1.6 JVM
    What error are you getting? If it is the "com.sunopsis.sql.c: No suitable driver", it indicates it can't find the jar file (sqljdbc.jar) for the driver you specify.
    Drivers folder in ODI 11g is under
    C:\oracle\product\11.1.1\Oracle_ODI_1\oracledi\agent\drivers.
    if you are using the standolone version
    On windwos :
    C:\Documents and Settings\<userName>\Application Data\odi\oracledi\userlib
    on linux
    $HOME/.odi/oracledi/userlib
    Have a read of :- http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/core.1111/e16453/install.htm#CHDBIFAJ

  • How to establish a trusted connection with JDBC for SQL SERVER 2000

    Hi!I am using jdk 1.4 and eclipse 3.3.
    I create a servlet in eclipse with in-build tomcat.
    When I run it ,it was working perfectlly has it was suppose to work.
    In this servlet I connect to a sql 2000 database using jdbc-odbc bridge driver.
    But when I tried to deploy the servlet on tomcat 5.5 manully on the same machine ,it gave me error saying
    [Microsoft][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Login failed
    for user 'sa'
    I searched around some post and found that ok ,I need trusted connection
    But I have 2 Questions
    1). Why was in eclipse I was able to connect to the SQL server and why not in the servlet which I deployed manully on tomcat.
    2). How do I create a trusted connection with JDBC for SQL server 2000
    Thnaks for your help in advance.

    Hi! duffymo ,QussayNajjar ,dvohra09 .
    Thank for help.
    The ideas are really great.
    I am trying generate reports for my company.
    When I used eclipse the code worked perfectly.
    below is code which I used
    out.println("Calling For Class Name<br>");
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    out.println("Calling For Class Name success Now calling database <br>");
    1). jdbcConnection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:SQLJasper");
    2). jdbcConnection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:Driver={SQL Server};Server=ServerName;Database=tempdb");
    3). jdbcConnection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:Driver={SQL Server};Server=ServerName;Database=tempdb","UID=UserName","Password=Password");
    out.println("connecting to database success<br>");
    I had tried to connect the database using this three way.
    In 1st I tried using DSN name .
    Next 2 self explainer for expert like you.
    I used to 2nd variant to connect in eclipse and it worked fine.
    I not an expert in java ,I just doing some research on jasperReport.
    My best guest is that eclipse is using some library files of which I have no clue.
    Thank's for your help,I appretiate it.
    Once again thank a billion.
    Sorry for the messy righting.

  • JDBC for SQL SERVER 2000

    I have downloaded it and installed it on my NT box.
    How do I use this? What's the syntax for making the

    I just put my foot in my mouth. After installing it, you should find online help in the start button, under programs. But here's the syntax:
    Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://server1:1433","username","password");

    I added the 3 .jar files msbase.jar,mssqlserver.jar and msutil.jar to the System variables but it is not working. Is there any syntax for adding these .jar files to the System Variables?
    Please, help me and give me the solution for establishing the connection and loading the driver class. If I am doing anything wrong then please, tell me the right step.
    I am developing a project on Java and I have very little time left to accomplish it. Please help me.
    Thankyou.

    I had already given the .jar files to the User variables and System Variables but the driver class is still not loading. I had simply given the .jar file name for instance, msbase.jar;mssqlserver.jar;msutil.jar and also tried the path of .jar files i.e., C:\Microsoft SQL Server\-----------\lib\msbase.jar;C:\-------------lib\mssqlserver.jar;C:\----------------\lib\msutil.jar; but, both ways are not working. When I installed the MS SQL Server 2000 then in the lib folder, the 3 JAR files were not installed then, I downloaded a driver for MS SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC sp2, then, the JAR files were installed. Then, I copied those files to the lib folder of MS SQL Server and gave that path to the User and System Variables but it didn't work then I gave the original path of files where they are installed i.e., of the Driver's path which I downloaded from Microsoft but still now, my problem is not solved. Please help me.

  • URL for SqlServer Thin Driver ?

    Hi all,
    I have developed a web application in jsp with Microsoft SQL Server 2000, used 4th type of driver and it is working fine in my desktop PC . When I tried to deploy war to Laptop, where SQL Server is installed as standalone, i got error in establishing the connection with the socket, Following is the code snippet i used for laptop
    Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
    String    strDBUrl="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=GNXT;selectMethod=cursor";for workstation or desktop, i just changed the localhost into the database server name
    I suspect problem is with the URL, Can anyone give me the URL for Ms Sql Server 4th type jdbc driver?
    Suggestions welcome!!!
    Regards,
    Srini.

    The URL is the same.
    Did you double checked that the server is listening to TCP?
    Try to use your local IP instead of 'localhost'.

  • [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Invalid column name 'Sweepstakes'.

    Okay, I'm by no means a cold fusion expert. But I have been teaching  myself over the last year since our website was built off of Cold  Fusion. So I need help because I am trying to build a site where people  can enter in their e-mail address, and name (first and last) for a  sweepstakes that we have on our catalog.
    I have create a table called "Sweepstakes" so on my MS SQL 2005 Web Box  there is a table under the database called "dbo.sweepstakes". I have  replicated basically everything that a original database that was  already created to capture user's email address for catalog request and  what have you. The original database to capture user's request catalogs  from us is called "dbo.InfoRequest" (just a FYI) and this was the  database I basically replicated in a way.
    So after saying all this, I continue to receive this error message and I  can not figure out why. So here is the error message that I am getting.
    This is the error when trying to load the database from the "webview"  basically. We have an Admin Console to the website and in their, there  is a section to list the contents of a specific database. So if you  requested a catalog, you put in your name, email address, etc on to the  website and when you hit submit on the website it insert it into the  database called "dbo.InfoRequest". So when the Spring comes and I want  to get a list of people that have request a catalog, I go to our  website's admin console and inside there, there is a "List Catalog  Request". When you click on it, it loads a file called  "ListCatalogRequest.cfm" and it displays the "dbo.InfoRequest" database  on the screen in a table format basically. So I am trying to replicate  that for this sweepstakes we are having on our website / catalog but  without using the "dbo.InfoRequest" database. Since we are doing a  drawing, I'd rather it be in it's own database for viewing a drawing. So  I have copied the "ListCatalogRequest.cfm" file and renamed it to  "ListSweepstakesEntrys.cfm" and changed a couple of things in the file  to point to the "dbo.Sweepstakes" that I created this morning and here  are the results when you bring up the "ListSweepstakesEntrys.cfm" file.
    If you need the results and / or code from either  "ListSweepstakesEntrys.cfm" or "IISAdminSecurity.cfm" please let me  know.
    THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE!

    OK, this is more a SQL question than a CF question, but not to worry.
    You say this:
    I have create a table called "Sweepstakes"
    My emphasis.
    But your query is this:
    SELECT [Sweepstakes] AS TableAccessLevel, MinimumSecurity,  IDNumber FROM AdminUsers WHERE Username = 'username' AND Password =  'password' AND Active = 'Y' AND UserType = 'A'
    The question I pose to you is: does a SELECT statement in SQL take the name of a table?
    Hint: no.
    Best you revise your SQL docs, I think.
    Adam
    PS: it's "ColdFusion", not "Cold Fusion".  Not that it really matters :-)

  • JDBC for Postgresql(on Linux): java.lang.NullPointerExceptio--Please HELP!

    I'm trying to build a JSP web application with Apache Tomcat 4.0 on Linux, using PostgreSQL database.
    The test page for building a connection to the database is very simple.
    However, unfortunately, I always get the following error message from the web server.
    The code is also show below.
    I have another Tomcat server working on Window2000 with Oracle. So I change the JDBC driver to Oracle on that machine, and it works fine.
    I guessed I might have some problem with the Tomcat setting, but I'm not sure what I need to change.
    The directory of my web application is built under the webapps.
    And I've added JAVA_HOME, JAVA_HOME/lib/tool.jar, and JDBC for PostgreSQL to my CLASSPATH.
    Is there any other configuration that I missed?
    Please help if you see the problem.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • JDBC for Oracle 8i (8.1.5)in JRE 1.2

    I'm trying to connect to Oracle 8i dbms (8.1.5) thru an applet.
    In JDeveloper 2.0 environment (with JDK1.2) it works fine, but
    at netscape 4.5 with JRE plug-in version 1.2, it throws an
    exception from oracle connection "No Suitable Drive".
    I've read the FAQ regarding the issue and tried to use the
    following JDBC versions, facing the same problem:
    JDBC for 8.0.5 (classes111.zip)
    JDBC for 8.1.5 (classes111.zip)
    JDBC for 8.1.6 (classes12.zip)
    JDBC for 8i - 8.1.5 (of Jdeveloper 1.1)
    BTW, All of the above JDBC versions connects fine under netscape
    to oracle 7.3, oracle 8.0.5.
    (I've tried JRE 1.2.2 as well but no success)
    PLEASE HELP !!!!

    Have you tried setting the CLASSPATH and related JDBC environment
    variables so that your JDBC app recognizes the Driver that you're
    calling when registering? Have you done a version string check
    on that driver's class itself from the command line?
    (java jdbc.xxxx.Driver)
