JDeveloper HTML5 Support

Hi,
Does anyone know how JDeveloper is going to support HTML5 development such as providing code completion for HTML5 tags, properties editor for HTML5 attributes, and HTML5 page validation? It looks that Eclipse has done that year ago but I couldn't find any document how to do that in JDeveloper.
BTW, I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 and 11.1.2.1. I tried XHTML5 as an alternative solution but unfortunately I couldn't find any XHMTL5 schema file on the Internet.
Thanks for any help!
Huaichen

Can I ask what technology you are using to build your UI layer? Do you find yourself actually coding HTML?
If you are using ADF Faces, then we are converting some of the components to generate HTML5 output, but as a developer - this won't impact you since you will still work with the components in the same way. The components abstract you from any specific HTML version code that they generate.

  • Portal HTML5 support

    Hi Experts,
Please help to clarify the below queries on HTML5 support in the SAP NetWeaver Portal.
    1. From which version, the SAP portal supports the HTML5?
    2. Is SAP NetWeaver 7.02 SP12 support it ?
    3. Is there any configuration or modification in portal/application can be done to support the HTML5?
    Appreciate your quick response.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    Thanks for your quick response.
I could not able find the below path in the portal (7.02 SP12),
In SAP NetWeaver Administrator, navigate to Configuration Infrastructure Java System Properties .
In the Details table, select the Services tab.
Search for portal and select Portal Runtime Container Extension .
In the Extended Details table, search for html5 and set the value of the html5.compliant property toiViewDependent .
    Choose Save .
Does it mean 7.02 SP12 will not support(can not be configured) HTML5?

  • When will Firefox increase their HTML5 support?

Like, since Firefox 11 the HTML5 support hasn't gone up a bit. Like it supports 345 points. As when even Opera and Safari bulldozed Firefox with a 376 and 385 pointer. Then Chrome FLATTENED Firefox, with a 437 points. And even Internet Explorer is chasing Firefox like a cat and a mouse, with 319 points and counting. Like WHEN, will Firefox actually put some more effort into building their HTML5 support?

There is always work going on on increasing our support of the HTML5 standard. For example, from Firefox 14.0.1 to Firefox 17 (still in development, the HTML5Test has gone from 345 to 383. The HTML5 standard is still evolving, and work is always being done. However, this isn't the best place to discuss this. [https://developer.mozilla.org/ https://developer.mozilla.org/] is the developer portal for Firefox and covers all the HTML5 work going on.

  • Best browser for HTML5 support on Android

Can anyone recommend a browser that actually works with Captivate HTML5 output on android devices? I get a variety of problems across Firefox, Chrome, Dolphin, and Ninesky. The main problem I get is no sound, but on some of them I get sound but the nav buttons don't work. I am using very simple slde sounds - one per slide. Also, does anyone know if there is an Android version of Safari?
    Best, Steve

  • Why would anyone use gstreamer legacy? and Firefox x264 HTML5 support

    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Gstreamer
The wiki says gstreamer legacy is... "Legacy but widely used". On top of that every single linux tutorial on gstreamer I've seen talks about gstreamer0.10 i.e. the legacy one. Including the arch wiki page on Firefox H264 https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fi … 4_playback Can I rely on the following setup?
    gst-libav 1.2.3-1
    gst-plugins-bad 1.2.3-2
    gst-plugins-base 1.2.3-1
    gst-plugins-base-libs 1.2.3-1

    gst-plugins-ugly 1.2.3-2
    gst-vaapi 0.5.8-1
    gstreamer 1.2.3-1
What is the required set to enable Firefox H264 support? Should I uninstall all *0.10* packages if I use the current version of gstreamer?

So, should I remove all 1.0 packages if I plan on enabling HTML5 video for Firefox using 0.10?

  • When is Firefox Mobile getting mp3 and aac html5 support?

I want to be able to use Firefox for Android to listen to music through Grooveshark's html5 website. From what information I've been able to gather Firefox for Android must still only have ogg hmtl5 support and I don't want to have to use Chrome or the built-in browser just for Grooveshark.

Yes Firefox should be able to play back those files on Android. It is likely that the site is doing user agent sniffing instead of feature detection. You can try the phony extension to pretend to be other browsers. It may allow SoundCloud to work. http://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/phony/
If Phony does help then it is an issue with SoundCloud's website.

  • How can I get HTML5 support in chromium-browser-bin?

Here is the package I have now:
    chromium-browser-bin
    chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-nonfree-bin 50002-1
    gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.10-1
    x264 20100607-1
And something as dependancies for the above.
But I cannot watch video in HTML5 mode in chromium.
    Is there anything I missed?
    Thanks a lot.

    1. Why not use chromium from extra?
    2. chromium does not support all vide encodings, only a few of them. This is due to licensing, software patensts, politics and other fun stuff.
Blame the ones who desided to not make thedora the standard encoding in html5.

  • SMP Official HTML5 Support

As of the final SMP 1.6 release, will HTML5 video be officially supported by SMP?
I have seen the following page on the SMP wiki on SourceForge.com:
    Exploratory HTML5 Video Support
    https://sourceforge.net/adobe/smp/wiki/Exploratory HTML5 Video Support/
I also remember Andrian Cucu going through the exploratory HTML5 fallback in SMP 1.5 in his OSMF user group presentation in November 2010 (link to the on-demand meeting recording toward the top of the following page:

Just writing here to confirm what seems obvious ...
As of the final SMP 1.6 release, is HTML5 video now officially supported as a "first class" runtime by SMP?
"Yes" is what the following blog post regarding the SMP 1.6 release seems to imply:
Announcing OSMF and Strobe Media Playback 1.6
    http://blogs.adobe.com/osmf/2011/09/announcing-osmf-and-strobe-media-playback-1-6.html
The blog post above having included a link to the following SMP wiki page:
HTML5 & JavaScript support for SMP
    http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/osmf.adobe/index.php?title=HTML5_%26_JavaScript_supp ort_for_SMP
I am seeking to confirm that HTML5 playback is a "first class" runtime for SMP given Adobe's commit to mobile runtimes for SMP, and the following recent Adobe announcement:
Flash to Focus on PC Browsing and Mobile Apps; Adobe to More Aggressively Contribute to HTML5
    http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2011/11/flash-focus.html
    EXCERPT:
Our future work with Flash on mobile devices will be focused on enabling Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores. We will no longer continue to develop Flash Player in the browser to work with new mobile device configurations (chipset, browser, OS version, etc.) following the upcoming release of Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry PlayBook.
These changes will allow us to increase investment in HTML5 and innovate with Flash where it can have most impact for the industry, including advanced gaming and premium video. ...
Thank you again to all on the SMP team for the great player code base that you provide all who are delivering video to web and mobile devices.

  • JDeveloper 10g support for resin

Does anyone know if there is anyway of adding resin to the list of application server conncetion options within JDeveloper 10.1.2.
    Thanks in advance.

    Supported probably yes.
    Certified - no.
Certified means that we do testing on that platform and we currently not testing on Resin.
Supported - yes - because we support deployment to any J2EE compliant application server. So if Resin is J2EE compliant we should be able to deploy on it, and if it doesn't work because of problems on the JDeveloper side you can open a TAR with Oracle Support about it.

  • My Jdeveloper not supporting SOA Suite

    Hi
I have downloaded Oracle Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0.
and installed in my local. when i add soa extension from localfiles, it not loading SOA extension it seems..
After adding My Jdev got restarted. then i dont see any option to create SOA project. Please dont let me know that this version dont support SOA apps. :(
    Can someone help me please
Let me know for more info.
    Thanks
    Sujan

Just to summarize this thread and give a final answer:
    1) JDevelope 11g R2 (11.1.2.x) is a JDeveloper and ADF release only that does not have support for FMW products like WebCenter and SOA
    2) To run JDeveloper 11g with the SOA or Webcenter extension, use JDeveloper 11g R1 (11.1.1.x)
    3) The next (not yet released) higher JDeveloper release that supports WebCenter and SOA at designtime is 12c

  • Jdeveloper UML Support

    Hi,
I am trying to evaluate the extent of UML support that JDeveloper provides. For any new application development, we create all the UML diagrams as part of the design process.
From the new features provided by Jdeveloper 9.0.2, the following UML diagrams can be created
    1) Class diagrams
    2) Component diagrams
    3) Activity diagrams
I am not sure whether the new version can provide support for the creation of the following UML diagrams?
    1) Use Case diagrams
    2) Sequence Diagrams
    3) Collaboration diagrams
    4) State Chart diagrams
    5) Deployment diagrams
Can someone from Oracle please provide me some clarity on Jdeveloper support for the above UML diagrams? I am looking at replacing Rational/Together with Jdeveloper if the above functionality is already supported. If Oracle doesn't support this at the moment, Do you want to add these as new features in the next releases.
Please respond me back as soon as possible?
    Regards,
    Kishore Chekuri

    Dai Clegg,
Sequence diagrams and Use Case diagrams are the next most important required features to support design using UML. After that Collaboration diagrams and State Chart diagrams. Deployment diagrams should be given least priority since they can also be generated using visio or word.
    Thanks for your response.

    Kishore Chekuri

  • "The Adobe Flash Player or an HTML5 supported..." warning

I'm embedding YouTube videos into my DPS folios and right before they load a warning pops up for a split second. It warns the user that they need Flash or HTML5 to view the content. Is there anyway for this to be disabled? It's causing some of my users to get nervous that something is wrong (even though it starts working almost immediately afterword).

I've been continually developing for my magazine and came to a realization today. It's best to put text infront of these types of interactive elements that say "This content requires an Internet connection" and then make sure the transparent background option is checked in the web content overaly options. This way if someone is trying to view the content offline, they're not faced with an empty white box that looks broken.
