JFrame call from jsp

Hi, i need to call a JFrame from JSP if you now how can i do it please tell me.

Mr. Strider,
1) JSP are server applications
Sometimes the server that is running JSPs is a Unix (or a mainframe!) box that has no X Server and is accessible only via
telnet/ssh.
2) JFrames are used in Swing client applications
The classic example is running a JApplet that hosts JFrames in a
browser page in a Windows computer.
You must write two programs - the JSP that will show you a web page and
an JApplet that will be shown in the browser. You can not call directly
the JFrame from the JSP.

    i need to fill two values in the xml. i have the value with me.

    Although you could do it, why would you put this kind of logic into a presentation file like JSP? It depends on the API you want to use:

  • How to pass a object of JSP to a servlet called from JSP

    Hi,
    I am trying to display an image in the JSP through html image tag. I am using Struts Action class to get the image data from the database through a Session EJB. I am getting a byte array for the image retrieved from the database.
    To display the image I need to call a servlet from the JSP from the image tag like this.
    <html:img src="imageservlet" border="0"/>
    But I need to send the image byte [] array data which is available with the JSP to the servlet to build image. I have a bean object with the JSP which holds the image byte []. The servlet should receive the bean object and will use the byte [] and build the image to be displayed.
    My query here is how to send this bean object to the servlet which is getting called from the JSP as shown above.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your response. I knew it is possible with session objects. But I want to perform this operation with out using session objects. Is there a way to accomplish this with out using Session objects.
    Please help.
    Thanks

  • Problem with search method in AM called from JSP

    Hi, im trying to get the real value from an foreign key of a view, and i have been created a custom search method in the AM, but i got a problem, the search only get results the first time that is called, the next times gets null result :
    public String getValorReal(Long identificador, String vista,
    String campoFiltro, String campoValor)
    where identificador is the foreign key, vista is the name of the view that contains the real value of the foreign key, campoFiltro is the field name of the view that will match the foreign key, and campoValor is the field name of the view that the search method will return as the real value.
    I created this class that call the search method :
    public class CuentasContablesOrgLOV {
    private BindingContainer bindings;
    public Map CuentaContable= new HashMap(){
    public Object get(Object key){
    Map parametros;
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    String result = null;
    OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.
    getOperationBinding("getValorReal");
    if (operationBinding != null){
    parametros = operationBinding.getParamsMap();
    parametros.put("identificador",new Long(key.toString()));
    parametros.put("vista","CcCuentasContablesView4");
    parametros.put("campoFiltro","identificador");
    parametros.put("campoValor","CuentaContable");
    result = (String)operationBinding.execute();
    return result;
    public Map getCuentaContable() {
    return CuentaContable;
    I invoke this class from the JSP with EL:
    <af:outputText value='#{CuentasContablesOrgLOV.cuentaContable[row.CcCucoIdentificador]}'/>
    In the AM method obtains all the parameters correct, but the search only works the first time!
    Do you have an idea whats been happened?
    thanks a lot for your help

    There is no <%@ method %> tag for a JSP.
    http://java.sun.com/products/jsp/syntax/1.2/syntaxref12.html
    It looks like you are trying to write a JSP that only accepts post requests - not get?
    I'm not sure if you can accomplish that in a JSP directly.
    You can with an HttpServlet (which is where the doGet/doPost methods are defined) but HttpJspPage doesn't extend that class necessarily.
    Best you could probably do is put in a test of request.getMethod() to see if it is get/post.

    You can download Oracle's latest JDBC drivers from: http://otn.oracle.com/software/content.html
    You need to register, but it should be free.
    When you get the zip/jar-file, you have several options. You can either place it in the common classpath of your system/Servlet container (recommended if you use it in most of your webapps), or in the WEB-INF/lib directory of your webapp (if you only use it with that particular one).

  • Who know how to handle pl/sql table return from stored procedure calling from jsp

    I have some stored procedure which return pl/sql table (index by table), It is look like an array. how jdbc handle this?
    CallableStatement cs = con.prepareCall("EXECUTE bill.getcountry(?,?)");
    cs.setInt(1, cid);
    cs.registerOutParameter(2, java.sql.Types.VARCHAR);// ARRAY?
    ResultSet rs = cs.executeQuery();
    Array array = (Array) rs.getObject (1);
    ResultSet array_rset = array.getResultSet ();

    Not that familiar with the OCI (Oracle Call Interface), but I think this call will be problematic - the OCI deals with SQL data types and not with PL/SQL structures.
    The OCI has since Oracle 8i sported an object call interface (see OCI Runtime Environment for Objects for details).
    This allows you to use the CREATE TYPE command to create advance user data types - and these are supported by the SQL engine, PL/SQL engine and external languages via the OCI.
    So you need to have a look at the Perl-DBI documentation to see how it supports Oracle object types and consider using these. As for internal PL/SQL data structures. These are not supported by the SQL engine and I would expect limited or no support in the OCI for these. Anyway, using SQL data types makes a lot more sense ito flexibility and transparency across languages and environments.

    That's the code that you need to execute but you should
    probably encapsulate that code in Custom Action.
    Orion has a EJB Tag Library that is free to distribute that
    does all that stuff you just set some attributes.
    Go to their site and look at their Tag Libraries.

  • Removing ADFBindingFilter from jsp page

    I have showReport()method in showReport bean (it is not registered in faces-config.xml as managed-bean) that I am calling from jsp page with JSP call showReport.showReport(). My showReport() method looks like this:
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ValueBinding vb = fc.getApplication().createValueBinding("#{data.documentReportsPageDef}");
    DCBindingContainer dc = (DCBindingContainer) vb.getValue(fc);
    OperationBinding execute =
OperationBinding("ExecuteWithParams");
    execute.execute();
    Headless_ documentReportsPageDef code:
    <pageDefinition xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/uimodel"
    version="10.1.3.36.73" id="documentReportsPageDef"
    Package="...view.pageDefs">
    <executables>
    <iterator id="DocumentReportsIterator" Binds="DocumentReports"
    RangeSize="-1" DataControl="AppModuleDataControl"/>
    </executables>
    <bindings>
    <action id="ExecuteWithParams" IterBinding="DocumentReportsIterator"
    InstanceName="AppModuleDataControl.DocumentReports"
    DataControl="AppModuleDataControl" RequiresUpdateModel="true"
    Action="95">
    <NamedData NDName="DocumentType" NDValue="@CDBR"
    NDType="java.lang.String"/>
    <NamedData NDName="RefNo" NDValue="12635"
    NDType="java.lang.String"/>
    <NamedData NDName="IsInstant"
    NDValue="1"
    NDType="java.lang.String"/>
    </action>
    <table IterBinding="DocumentReportsIterator" id="DocumentReports" >
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="Id"/>
    <Item Value=".."/>
    </AttrNames>
    </table>
    </bindings>
    </pageDefinition>
    It is registered in DataBindings.cpx
    Everything works fine until I remove:
    <filter-mapping>
    <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
    <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
    </filter-mapping>
    from web.xml so ADFBindingBindingFilter would not be invoked for my jsp page. I have reason for this
    On execute.execute()line I get:
    Resolving collection source:DocumentReports for iterator binding:DocumentReportsIterator
    DCUtil, returning:oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.model.binding.FacesCtrlRangeBinding, for DocumentReports
    Looking for RSI with name :DocumentReports for iterator binding:DocumentReportsIterator
    DCBindingContainer.reportException :oracle.jbo.JboException
    oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.NullPointerException, msg=null
    If I restore filter-mapping so adfBindings are used for *.jsp page I get:
    Resolving VO:DocumentReports for iterator binding:DocumentReportsIterator
    DCUtil, returning:oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.model.binding.FacesCtrlRangeBinding, for DocumentReports
    Column count: 13
    So everything works fine again.
    Question: Can I make this work without ADFBindingsFilter on jsp page? I am invoking everything programmatically and I don’t understand why I need to set this filter on jsp?
    With this strange implementation, I am trying to solve problem discussed in article:
    oracle.jbo.common.Lock locks the application
    If my idea is hopeless, please clarify me this :)

    Ok, this is quite clear answer. Thank You.
    One more thing:
    In oracle.jbo.common.Lock locks the application Steve M, has left the the question open by "I'll ask one of our developers to comment in this thread on ideas for implementing this long-running report.". Maybe You could close this one too?

    Hi Ashok,
    You can use rwservlet - nothing really to do with JDeveloper. Once you have report server up and running (hint: read http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/bi.1012/b14048/toc.htm), you can call a report like this:
    http://server:port/rwservlet?report=my_report.rdf&destype=cache&desformat=html&p_my_parameter=xxx etcHope this helps,

Moreover, I try to set up an Alias in httpd.conf file to the this director and use it with the jsp in the action tag, but still get an error that my jsp servlets/Myjsp can't be found. Why is it insiting on looking at servlets context instead of htdocs.
    I have none of these issues outside of Portal30 using IAS.
    regard

    Initially, I couldn't do this unless I moved tghe jsp's up to the root directory of IAS, i.e ../Apache/Apache. Nomrally, htdocs is my doc directory for IAS. I could not do http:\\myUrl\htdocs\myJsp. If I tgried this, I got an error in Apache error logg that said can't find file ..\htdocs\htdocs\MyJsp.jsp.
    If I just tried the the URL http:\\myUrl\MyJsp.jsp with Jsp file in htdocs, I would get an error in the Jserve log that file d:\oracle\isuites\apache\apache\MyJsp.jsp could not be found. Once I moved the file MyJsp to Apache/Apache directory, it could be found using http:\\myUrl\MyJsp.jsp. Later, I delted these files and kept the ones in htdocs and they continued to work.
    I'm confused why launching pages through portal isn't consistant with Apache Standards. Where is the documentation that tells me how to configure context and aliases for pages launched from portal pages?

    David,
    Passing information using Portal is different than just using Apache/Jserv. Does it work in portal if you use the absolute path?
    <form name="MyForm" action="http://host.domain/MyJSP.jsp" method="post">
    Portal will not be on the same relative path as your Apache, so you may need to adjust your action somehow.
    Thanks,
