JMS Adapter Fail - Receiver channel. Details: Receive timed out

Its an IDOC to JMS scenario. IDOC gets processed through the pipeline in XI successfully, can see the checkered flag.
However in Adapter monitoring, JMS adapter is in red.
The error text against the Communication Channel is "Receiver channel. Details: Receive timed out".
I am trying to connect to the JMS queue provided by a third party on port 1100 ( as configured in JMS adapter).My initial analysis is to check if the port is open on the third party's firewall( Need to get the response back from them yet).
However i would like to know, if there is something else that i should look into?

Following are the error messages in RWB audit log for the message sent.
Exception caught by adapter framework: The JMS channel with channel ID 3f307d6854683859b39f978a43e88872 is errornous. Details:Receive timed out
Error Delivery of the message to the application using connection AFW failed, due to: The JMS channel with channel ID 3f307d6854683859b39f978a43e88872 is errornous. Details:Receive timed out.
what might be the problem?

              But only Sent Frames has data.. Receive frame does not seem to be

              I tried MultiCastTest Utility in 2 different dos prompts and seems to
              be working. (both windows shows send/receive).
              Though i am not sure if it will work for a quad / 2NIC machine..
              As utility does not take IP address of the server.
              thanks

    that is right.
              we fixed it.. we tried running multicast test and it failed
              so we had to fix our network settings and got multicast working.
              also due to multiple NIC card we had to set "interface" address
              which we had not done while working with single NIC machines
              in clustered mode.
              thanks

  • Java GSS API - Kerberos - Receive timed out when requesting service ticket.

    Hi,
    I'm following the following exercises about Kerberos/JGSS-API :
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/security/jgss/lab/
    On exercise 3, I get an exception (when requesting a service ticket) from the client side:
    "+Exception in thread "main" java.security.PrivilegedActionException: GSSException: No valid credentials provided (Mechanism level: Receive timed out)
    etc.+"
    This seems to happen when the GSSContext.initSecContext(...) method is called.
    The server side receives the client connection:
    "+Waiting for incoming connection...+
    +Got connection from client /xxx.xxx.x.xxx+"
    But then displays the following exception:
    "+Exception in thread "main" java.security.PrivilegedActionException: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
    etc.+"
    I checked my KDC (win 2003 Server SP2) and added SPNs with setspn but the error remains.
    Any suggestion are more than welcome !

    The TGT is already present on my Client machine because it is acquired automaticaly from the KDC during the Windows opening session.
    I use then JAAS to access the LSA and obtain the TGT - This doesn't need any further connection to the KDC.
    But the Service Ticket is requested to the KDC by my client machine..
    Here is the complete output (Client side) after I destroyed the tickets (with Kerberos MIT Leash.exe and/or kdestroy.exe ):

    -Is there any other special configuration to do in the KDC ?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Flow is not going to catch block when JMS adapter fails

    In a BPEL composite, we have a JMS adapter to write a message into JMS Queue.
    In this error scenario, JMS is down & so JMS adapter fails with the below error. But control is not going to the catch block where we have some logic to construct a error response. Why?
    Global retry rollback fault thrown.
    The current JTA transaction is aborting due to an user rollback fault being thrown. The upstream component should retry in a new JTA transaction upon catching this fault.
    This exception was caused by a global retry fault being thrown from downstream component. The user had directed the BPEL engine to roll back the current JTA transaction and retry within new JTA transactions for the specified number of times and retry interval.
    There is no action recommended.
    BINDING.JCA-12563
    Exception occured when binding was invoked.

    The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception.

    Hi,
    This is similar to JTA issue from below post.
    CatchAll block not catching JTA timeout with XA datasource. Try the suggestion given by Riaan and see if it helps.

  • Error SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: Read timed out; HTTP 200 OK

    Hi PI gurus,
      Need some suggestions on one issue below -
      Scenario - proxy (SAP) to SOAP (Web based system)
      In the RWB Communication Channel Monitirong we are receiving the below error
      " Error SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: Read timed out; HTTP 200 OK"
    the request from XI system is going to target system and printing the lables (as per the functionality) with no issues but the comminication channel is giving the above error and this is causing the repeated sending the same request to target sytem and the data is printing repeateadly. This issues is occuring in Quality environment.
    Strangley the same Interface with the same connectivity details is working fine in Development environment. But not working in Quality environment. Checked the firewalls settings on both in XI and Target system side and confirmed that everything is fine.
    Below are the Logs both from Quality and developement are as follows
    Quality ( Failure Case)
    17.03.2011 07:19:59 Success SOAP: request message entering the adapter with user J2EE_GUEST
    17.03.2011 07:25:03 Error SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: Read timed out; HTTP 200 OK
    Development     (Success ful)
    17.03.2011 07:27:55 Success SOAP: request message entering the adapter with user J2EE_GUEST
    17.03.2011 07:27:58 Success SOAP: completed the processing
    When we checked with basis team on user id J2EE_GUEST,  they confirmed that they are same in Development and Quality.
    I repeat,, that the same target url and everthing is same in XI Configuration
    Thanks in Advance. Points would be rewared for the best solution.
    Thanks,
    Jitender

    HI Jitender,
          If your scenariois working in DEV and if it is not working in QAS.Could you please check if both the systems are at same patch levels..

    Since the Exception message did not contain error code that Exchange server usually returns like (401) Unauthorized or (403) Forbidden, I am unable to pinpoint any reason for this to occur, since the functionality worked perfectly several times before
    this exception occurred as I can check in my logs. Also my diagnostic class which runs on the occurrences of any exception immediately tried to ping exchange server and re-initialize ExchangeService object. When I checked diagnostics logs after this exception
    time for the result of diagnostics, then it was able to ping the exchange server and the ExchageServer object also initialized successfully. So I am out of any reason now.
    The exception occurred on the last line of the following code:
    ItemView itemView = new ItemView(100, 0);
    FindItemsResults<Item> itemResults = null;
    PropertySet psPropSet = new PropertySet(BasePropertySet.IdOnly);
    itemView.PropertySet = psPropSet;

    itemResults = service.FindItems(WellKnownFolderName.Inbox, itemView);
    if (itemResults.Items.Count != 0)
    service.LoadPropertiesForItems(itemResults.Items, itItemPropSet);
    Any guesses why this could have happened? Or just some random network congestion? Am I forgetting to log some more information. Should I also log Exception.Data or something else?

    The timeout is occurring on the client so it not a particular error that's being returned by the server.
    The default timeout with the EWS Managed API is 90 seconds and is set on the ExchangeService Object. You can set this to a higher value eg to set it to 5 minutes
    server.timeout = 300000;
    Why it fails ? if its overnight then Backups can be the cause eg if they are snapshotting the server or some other backup mechanism could mean the server is very busy for a time. Or any other number of specific environmental factors. This is really
    a job for your Network admin to determine with server and network monitoring. I would suggest you check the EWS.Log on the Exchange server to see what happened at that time.
    What you should do at a code level is handle the exception, I would suggest wait for 60 seconds after the exception (this will cater for most throttling issues) and then try the same request again. If it fails again after a pause then
    you generally have a larger problem.
    Cheers

  • Disk Erase failed with the error- Operation timed out

    I've checked my computer- Mac Book White in Apple store, everything is fine just the hard disk has been corrupted. Needed to erase and reinstall. By the time I wanted to erase it, I can't erase and appears "Disk Erase failed with the error- Operation timed out".
    Anyone knows how to solve this question would be nice.
    Thanks

    Well give this a try:
    Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
    Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
    If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    Now download a utility like TinkerTool System or Leopard Cache Cleaner - VersionTracker or MacUpdate - and use it to clear out your system, user, and font caches.
    And, try this for the software update issue:
    Fix for Software Update
    See Troubleshooting Automatic Software Update in Mac OS X.
    Delete the following files:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
    /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
    /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.xxx.plist
    "xxx" is a number.
    /Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate/ (delete entire folder)

  • How to send alert when receiver JMS adapter fails? Please help!

    Hi experts,
       I have the following Asynchronous scenario:
       SAP R/3 -
    >IDOC----->XI>JMS--->BizTalk.
       I am sending IDOC from a given SAP R/3 system to XI. XI then sends the same to BizTalk via JMS adapter. In SXMB_MONI the message is successfully processed as it shows checked flag. But if I see the JMS communication channel status in runtime workbench then there it shows error saying JMS queue user id or password not found.
    How to send this JMS adapter error as alert?
    I also tried configuring alert rule in runtime workbench but still it does not trigger any error.
    I have also verified the alert category and everything is fine with that.
    What could be the problem? How can I send an alert when an Async adapter fails?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gopal

    Hi! GOPAL,
    Once make sure whther all the below mentioned steps are configured correctly or not ok
    1: First make sure whether you are working on SAP XI or PI 7.1
               a) If XI you need to create Alerts (ALert Category) in CCMS ABAP stack in the
                        Tcode. ALRTCATDEF
               b) Open the alert category/classification definition environment (transaction ALRTCATDEF).
         ensure you are in change mode.
               c) In the group box with the alert classifications, right-click All classifications to open the
                    context menu, and choose Create.
               d) Under Classification, enter a name for the classification.
               e) Under Description, enter a description of the classification.
               f)  Save your entries.
               g) Then go to RWB-->Go to ALERT Configuation and ADD the RULES to your alert category gor
         which created there in the abap stack.
    Note Suppose if you want those ALERTS to come to your MAIL then again go to ABAP STACK and go to Tcode.  ALRTCATDEF and select your alert category press FIxed Recepients and there give your SAP XI ID's then  u can see those alerts in RWB-->ALERT INBOX
    Suppoe if you want those to mail then ask the basis team to link your company mail or personal mail ID to your SAP ID.
    2. Supppose if you are working on PI 7.1 Server.
         Only difference is creating Alert Category...Here you can create your ALERT Classification I mean
         alert caltegory in the ESR (Enterprise Service Repository )
         Software Component >S CVersion>NameSpace-->Alert Category.
         You can configure how u configure there in abap stack such as long and short text every thing
          except Fixed Receipients you need to give that recepients there only in ABAP STACK.
          what ever ALERT CATEGORY you are creating will reflect there in the ABAP STACK
         even you can Use these alerts Category in BPM --> CONTROL STEP -->Configure here in this step
    You can also reach alerts like this.
    NOTE  Most Important point is You can also view your mails or Alerts in the T Code:: SOST.

  • JMS adapter fails to open IBM WebSphere MQ Manager V6 Remote Queue

    Hello,
    We are trying to connect to a Remote Queue with the SAP PI 7.0 SP9 JMS adapter to IBM WebSphere MQ V6 on Linux SLES9 x86_64.
    We did deployed the JMS-adapter with the V6 native libaries on SAP PI.
    In the Communication Channel we use the Adapter Type = JMS, Sender, Transport Protocol = WebSphereMQ(non-JMS).
    The MQ Queue Manager is on the same server as SAP PI so we use localhost, Server Port, Queue Manager Name, Channel Name and JMS Queue Name
    The <sid>adm user is a member of the mqm group.
    When I check the RWB I see this fault message:
    Error during channel initialization; exception trace: javax.jms.JMSException: <b>MQJMS2008: failed to open MQ Queue</b> at ...
    and also
    com.ibm.mq.MQException: <b>MQJE001: Completion Code 2, Reason 2045</b>
    When we lookup the reason 2045 we get this explaination on MQ:
    MQRC_OPTION_NOT_VALID_FOR_TYPE
    We also have a type = Receiver Communication Channel on the same MQ Queue Manager that one is working fine.
    Please advise!
    Best regards,
    Mike Laanen

    Mike,
    check whether the Queues are created and activated if it done. then check whether you have authorization for those queues.

  • "Authentication Failed" and "Your session has timed out" messages

    Hi All,
    In our implementation, we are using Sun Access Manager 7.0 Patch 6. We noticed that sometimes when we enter invalid credentials, we receive "Authentication Failed" message which we understand is a correct behavior. But sometimes instead of "Authentication Failed", we get "Your session has timed out" message even though we did not go over the module timeout of 2 minutes(i.e. default timeout value in SUN Access Manager).
    Is this a known anomaly? Did anybody else have seen this kind of behavior?
    Thanks,
    Jaya

    Thx.

    Yes, the XP firewall is running. During the Oracle instalation it poped up twice, but I selected 'Unblock'. I can't turn it off because it is running using the domain settings, but I can add exceptions (programs or ports). Port 1521, tnsping or sqlplus are not blocked and there is an option 'Display a notification when Windows Firewall blocks a program' witch is checked.

    Hi,
    I get the following error when trying to make an HTTP request. Below is the snippet of code I run. I get the error after exactly 60 seconds(default timeout?). I searched through the forums and found many similar errors but nothing that helped me resolve this issue. The problem does not exist in the rest of our environments, only our test environment.
    Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    the most frequent cause for TIMEOUT is a FireWall on or between client & server.
    when was last time this worked without error?
    what changed since then?
