JMS Defined property names are set as "Application" defined properties

JMS Specification says "JMS reserves 'JMS_<vendor_name>' for provider specific properties " . so when i try to define a application property name as "JMS_Sun MicroSystems"
it is throwing the exception shown below :
javax.jms.JMSException: message property name is invalid .
This is working according to the specification but the same is not happening with JMS Defined Properties.
I am using J2EE's JMS Provider.
The JMS Specification says "JMS reserves the 'JMSX' property name prefix for JMS defined properties. "
This implies that a JMS Client Should not be allowed
to use them as "Application " property name.
For example the following code should throw JMS Exception :-
setStringProperty("JMSXUserID","abcd")
but instead it sets the application propertyname as "JMSXUserID". This behaviour is against the specification.

This behaviour is not agains the specification.
The specification table 3.3 defines who sets the properties, their type and their name. If you read the table two of the properties are set by the client, your assertion would make this behaviour contradictory.
The others are set by the provider on send or receive. This means that it does not matter what you set them to they will be overwritten when the message is sent, or received, so it is perfectly reasonable to allow the user to set this variable as it is overwritten by the provider.
If you were to try: setStringProperty("JMSXNewName", "abcd") I would expect this to fail as the property has not been defined yet, and accepting this would be contradictory to the specification.
In other words. You cannot use the prefix JMS_ or JMSX for your own properties, unless they have been defined previously by the Provider or the specification in which case they may be overwritten anyway.
Hope this helps.

  • Duplicate property names are not allowed 'max'

    I'm puzzled by the above error.  It seems I can only add in one aggregate in a single query.  The error shows up in the simple example below, if I remove one of the AVG the error goes away.  I could create multiple queries and join them but
    I've seen samples that suggest this should work.  Any thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong?
    SELECT MAX(Driver), AVG(Time), AVG (SpeedInKmPerHour)
    FROM input
    TIMESTAMP BY DataTimestamp
    GROUP BY Driver, TumblingWindow(second, 1);

    Hi Michael,
    I'm using Stream Analytics to issue speading tickets in a driving game (they are actually achievements). It looks very similar to what you are doing, are you tracking real cars?
    I started with this query:
    -- Select the average speed over a 10 second tumbling window
    select Driver, avg(Speed) as AverageSpeed
    from telemetry
    group by TumblingWindow(second, 10), Driver
    Then tried this:
    -- Select average speed where it exceeds
    -- 100 MPH in a 10 second sliding wondow.
    select Driver, avg(Speed) as AverageSpeed
    from telemetry
    group by SlidingWindow(second, 10), Driver
    having avg(Speed) > 100
    And am now using this:
    -- Limit the output events to one per minute
    with Speeds as
    select
    Driver,
    avg(Speed) as AverageSpeed
    from telemetry TIMESTAMP By CreatedTime
    group by SlidingWindow(second, 10), Driver
    having avg(Speed) > 100
    select Driver, max(AverageSpeed) as Speed
    from Speeds
    group by TumblingWindow(minute, 1), Driver
    Hope this helps.

  • SP2013 "Create Service Applicationt" and "Service Applications' Property" buttons are disabled

    Hello,
    I’ve verified that I am local admin on the server that is hosting central admin.
    I run the browser as admin. In fact I am using Central Admin on the start menu. The UAC is disabled on the box any way
    I run the browser on the machine that is hosing CA. I've tested in on many other machines.
    I verified and my user is farm admin. That means I can see my logged-in user listed in CA->“Manage the farm administrators group”
    IE Enhanced Security is off
    Still I cannot create a service application or see any service application’s property. How to find where exactly is the problem?
    Thank you

    Hi Allan48,
    What did you mean ‘cannot create a service application’?
    Whether you meaned that the New service application button was disabled or not services applications were listed when you clicked the button.
    By default, there are some services applications whose properties are disabled, for example Access Services Application and Excel Services Application etc.
    Please make sure that SharePoint Web Services Root Application pool is running in Internet Information Services Manager, then check if this issue occurres.
    I hope this helps.

    Hello,
    what is the transaction used to define a valuation area?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    To define the Valuation level ,we define in the T code OX14.
    So ,in this we have two options either company code or plant.
    so if we have selected Plant as the valuation level.
    Automatically all the Plants created will becomes the valuation areas.
    Means all your valution hapens at plant level.
    hope so i am clear .

  • How to set JMS Header Property without using DynamicConfiguration.

    Hi,
    My Scenario is: PDF File -->XI -->JMS
    I need to send the PDF file as it is to JMS receiver, which shouldn't be a problem. The problem is I need to set the same file name in the Receiver JMS header property.
    So to do this I am using DynamicConfiguration in message mapping but when File Adapter picks the PDF file (as it is) I get the run time mapping error which is quite obvious since message mapping expects the data in xml format.
    Do you have any idea if I can avoid the message mapping and set the Dynamic Configuration somewhere else (not sure if java mapping can help here) or if there is some Module available to set file name in JMS header.
    Note: PDF File name is dynamic.
    Thanks!

    I am on XI 3.0. I am not good in java.. can someone give an example?
    Update:-
    I have done some changes to my code and now it is working for me. Since I don't have much knowledge in Java (except writing UDFs )so don't know how good this coding is but defiantly this is my first step to learn Java APIs. Thanks to everyone for their comments & suggestions!!

  • How to set JMS user property in JMS Adapter.

    I am using Jdeveloper and SOA 11g. I want to filter some JMS messages from a topic based on a JMS user property. It is consumed using (JMS Adapter) consumer --> Mediator---> DBAdapter.

    In Mediator mplan Assign Values use a property expression in the "to" side like:

    where XXX is the name of the property you would like to have created and populated. In source it will look like:

  • How do I configure the mixed signal graph property node to set the plot names

    I have a mixed signal graph displaying digital and analog data in two groups.
    I would like to programmatically set the names of individual plots i.e. rather that the digital graph displaying 'Digital 0->Line 0'  I would like to set it to 'Signal 1'  in the vi.
    How do I do this?
    Probably via the property node but I cant get this to work without errors?  (i.e. i cant find the right combination of node arguments to set.)
    Also,  I can set the names of the plots of the component waveforms programmatically, but when I bundle the plots together to form the mixed signal graph, the plot names are reset to the mixed signal graph default values. Can this behaviour be turned off?

    What are you doing? You need to select the plot first and then set the name, like this:

  • How to use weblogic.Admin to set JMS ErrorDestination property on WLS 7?

              We run the script against the WLS 7.0 server, script get 'OK' result but it didn't work (property wasn't set). Some error is reported in the admin.log on the server.
              We also run the scipt against the WLS 8 server. It worked perfectly.
              Does anyone know whether this works at all on WLS 7?

    The reason we are using weblogic.Admin is that we are using conf2admin to generate the scripts. weblogic.Admin seems to be the only option for WLS7. Thanks for your suggestion and will definitely check out WLST.

  • Cannot cutomize ALL of JFileChooser - what are the property names?

    Setting the UIManager property JFileChooser.homeFolderToolTipText to some value seems to have no effect on my machine running jdk 1.4.1.
    I am able to customize most of the JFileChooser, for instance changing this property does work JFileChooser.lookInLabelText.
    However, I have not been able to find the correct property names of the following textual contents of JFileChooser:
    1. The column names in a detailed list view (file name, size, modified date, ...)
    2. The text and tooltip of the open button when a folder is selected (which differs from the text shown when a file is selected)
    3. The text and tooltip of the home button
    If anyone knows the way to change these properties I would be very interested in hearing from you.

    Standard JMS Features
    "Message selection based on message header fields/properties"
    Is there a special syntax for using application-specific (user defined) JMS message properties as message selectors in Oracle 8.1.7?
    I've tried to create a message selector based on a custom property that I set, i.e. "username != 'William'". (example from O'Reilly JMS book, pg. 44)
    I always get a JMS-159: Invalid selector Selector Parse error unless the property is a JMS-Defined property. i.e., " JMSMessageID = 'ID:9789D65E215B3613E034080020B1456E' " works fine.
    From the docs and the oter examples, I figure application-specific (user-defined) properties are legal.
    Thans for any help in advance.

    Well I found an article in another forum that states in oracle 8i, message selectors are only supported on JMSCorrelationID and JMSMessageID
    (9i will have/has the full JMS spec support for message selectors , or so the response to the message says)
    Thanks anyway

  • JMS Adapter Destination Name value

    Hi
    I am trying to connect to a WLS remote distributed queue using the JMS Adapter but I am struggling to find the correct format for the destination name property as each time it gives various JMSExceptions stating that it cannot find the queue. Below is the .jca properties
    <connection-factory location="eis/wls/Queue" UIConnectionName="OSB_Test" UIJmsProvider="WLSJMS" adapterRef=""/>
    <endpoint-activation portType="Consume_Message_ptt" operation="Consume_Message">
    <activation-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.jms.inbound.JmsConsumeActivationSpec">
    <property name="DestinationName" value="jndiEmployeeDQ"/>
    <property name="UseMessageListener" value="false"/>
    <property name="PayloadType" value="TextMessage"/>
    </activation-spec>
    </endpoint-activation>
    I have also set the factory properties of the outbound connection pool as follows
    java.naming.factory.initial=weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory; java.naming.provider.url= t3://<remote-hostname>:<port>;java.naming.security.principal= <username>;java.naming.security.credentials=<password>
    Below is the message I am receiving

    Could you connect to same destination using any other client (like java). I think issue is either in the queue deployment or in the connection pool configuration at your side. Make sure that queue is available (by connecting to same queue using any other client) and cross check you connection pool configuration.
    Let us know the version of products you are using and connecting to.
