Jms implementations available in CAPS and their differences

is there any source where i can find aggregated information about what jms implenmentations are shipped with CAPS and how their architecture is ?
e.g. which version of GRID is shipped with CAPS , what processes are needed , how does jms server store data and lots more ...... i am especially interested in differences between jms grid and sun java system message qeueu. e.g. differences in clustering.

As far as Tibco JMS goes, if Tibco has made available a JCA 1.5 compliant resource adapter then you can just import it and use JNDI to get a connection from it. Do make sure to implement the Synchronization interface if you want to hook up with the Integration Server's Transaction Manager.

As far as the different MQ implementations go, you'd really need to check with a Sun representative as you do want to implement something that is future compliant as well as suits your needs.
JMS Grid for example is very strong in the area of non-Persistent non-XA Topic broadcasting, but less so in the area of Queues... SunMQ has very interesting HA features and can run on top of an Oracle RAC. As Johan says the SunMQ version packaged by default with JCAPS is a bit eerie, support of it is unclear and it's better to start off with version 4.
STCMS appears to be undergoing many enhancements which have been piling up and in 5.2.0 it is possible again to run multiple instance per domain, and possibly a multiplexer way of communicating between the server and the JMS Clients is to be implemented so that it can run behind an IP loadbalancer (allowing for a HA "Queue farm"). Of these three STCMS has experienced the highest level of battle-testing, so do be sure to prioritize your requirements.
Then of course there's the roadmap from 5.2.0 onwards where in version 6 a converged Message Queue is foreseen...

          java client, although it is not a JMS client. I'm not sure
          how it is packaged or licensed. Contact BEA sales and they

Dear all Experts,

eg, if i have to retrive data from my pc file (.txt or .xls) , using GUI_UPLOAD, then i have to take file name in form of string.

Difference between EDN-DB and EDN-JMS implementation

Experts,
Looking for a difference between EDN-DB and EDN-JMS implementation. We have EDN implementation going on, where multiple source systems will be publishing business events. Events can be published using SOA Suite or JMS Bridge from AQ and MQ. In this scenario which implementation approach is suited better ?

Oracle Apps Adapter can be used for many other products other than E-Business Suite (JD Edwards E1, OTM, and others). The apps adapter was mainly used in ERP systems and was strong when you needed have added functionality other than just polling a db for a status / calling a stored procedure... It could connect out to other business services, xml gateways and so-on.
From a technical aspect / development perspective I always thought of that the Oracle Apps Adapter simplifies the development but, may is not flexible. The App Adapter's strength is the services that are difficult to integrate with (business services, xml gateway). If you need to hook in to these types of services, use the APPS adapter. (Again like it is named the "Apps Adapter" its for interacting w/ other applications to enable real-time processing / functionality.
That being said the dbAdapter can be very powerful but, like it is named is database focused (to poll some table to know when to kick off other logic and enable real-time functionality through database interaction.
Looking at the Oracle 12C Roadmap I had heard that there is more planned for the Oracle Apps Adapter moving forward, especially as Anuj said in the "Financial Apps" side of the isle at Oracle. Who knows what is real and what isn't though =]

But it seems even no Sun ONE Application Server, use J2EE SDK command

we still can launch an Application Server that support EJB, JSP....

Sun ONE generally refers to the Sun ONE Application Server version 7.x. This is a J2EE 1.3 compliant application server from Sun. Sun also released a Reference Implementation version (RI) as a requirement of the J2ee 1.3 spec. This is the J2EE server you are refering too. The Sun ONE Application Server 7 is a more robust production ready App Server.
Going forward, Sun combined the 2 seperate groups to include just 1 release. The J2EE 1.4 Reference Implementation is the Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition version 8. SJS AS 8 PE is both free and production ready. Other version will include High Availability, Managing and Monitoring features.

Thanks for the info, this really helps.
Power up the AirPort Extreme for a few minutes, then hold in the reset button on the back of the Extreme for 10 seconds and release. Allow a full minute for the Extreme to restart to a slow, blinking amber light.
It might be possible to use wireless to configure the Extreme, but I recommend using a wired connection. Temporarily, connect an Ethernet cable from your Mac to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Extreme.
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen and wait a few seconds for a listing of New AirPort Base Station to appear. Just below that, click on AirPort Extreme.
The illustration below shows an AirPort Express. You will see AirPort Extreme on your screen.
AirPort Setup will open up automatically and take a minute to analyze the network, then announce that the Extreme will be configured to extend the Time Capsule network.
Enter a device name that you want to use for the Extreme and click Next
Wait a minute while AirPort Setup configures things for you. When you see the message of Setup Complete, click Done.
You can disconnect the Ethernet cable that you used for the set up now. Things should be working. The Extreme is providing additional wireless coverage the the Ethernet ports are enabled. You can connect to any port that you want since they all operate the same in this type of setup.

Landed costs and price differences

I'm trying to figure out what PS does to adjust for total value discrepancies between an invoice voucher and associated PO. Say on my PO I have a line item with quantity of 2 and unit price of $10. Therefore total value is $20. When I create a voucher, that same line item is now 2x$11 = $22. I approve that voucher for $22. Now I run the Extract Landed Cost batch process. What does this process do to "compensate" for the difference between voucher and PO? Does it change the unit price of that item in inventory from $10 to $11?

Hi, yes you are right: Using this approach ML would use price differences for other batches and increase their value instead of posting them as loss like the initial cost.
The way around that would be to post some unplanned material good receipt for the loss production order, e.g. a material called scrap. In account determination you might make sure that these materials have own stock and price difference accounts that you could treat special in your balance sheet.
This would be shown in ML like a joint production between the planned product and the scrap material and multi-level variances would be distributed using following an apportionment structure from material master.
If it is difficult to maintain a reasonable apportionment structure you might implement BADI cost_split described in note 997264.
Also a good possibility would be to use a quantity-proportional split that can be derived from the ML quantity structure.
I could provide an example implementation of that.

I was not able to find profile manager on my employer's installation of 10.6 Server. Is this only a feature of 10.7/10.8 server?

10.6 server does not have profile manager, profile manager is only available in 10/7 and 10.8 server
for 10.6 server you'll need to use wgm and server admin

For iPhone Case Lovers and their concern of Magnet Closers!!

I recently learned that some have had issues with their iPhone when used with a cases that includes magnets for closing. Sorry mwhitted for your woes.
While looking for a nice case for myself I became concerned of this, and decide to contact Sena about their Dockable iPhone case. This case seemed to be exactly what I was looking for, but after reading mWhitted and a few others problems I wasn't sure.
So I sent them a e-mail with the links and question their knowledge about their product.
This was late last night (about 1:39 am). How about 10:09 in the a.m. I get a response! A Long and thoroughly explained response (read Below).
Great customer service! I am going to give this company a try and see how well this works.
I have included my original e-mail to them and their response by Ronda so that you may judge for yourself.
PS. mWhitted, aparently the case you used may not have had the proper magnets and maybe not assembled appropriately for this phone which may have caused the problem. What do you think, maybe this may have been the cause?

Please make Down Payment request and then make Down Payment then make Invoice and then clear the Down Payment. If any balance is left over make incoming payment through F-28 and here u need to select the downpayment document also.
If no incoming payment is there u use F-03 and clear the documents manually.

Trying to sync my iPad and get the message that "all existing apps and their data will be replaced"

Previously my Windows 7 laptop didn't recognise my iPad but I persevered and now am getting the message when trying to update the iOS that if I sync, "all existing apps and their data will be replaced" so I'll lose everything I've bought since I last synced (which is a while). How can I back up my apps before syncing fully and then updating. I have 'transferred purchases' using the File menu but still getting the message.

Sounds like you have created a new library somehow. Ideally you would restore your old library and the problem would go away. If that is not possible then you should be able to:
Backup the device to the computer
Transfer your purchases into an authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Download remaining past purchases from iTunes in the Cloud, where available
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

What happened?

When you right-click the link, the page immediately tells you you can't copy, or does that occur after you choose Copy Link Location?
If it appears immediately, you can switch a setting in Firefox that should prevent sites from blocking the normal right-click menu. Here's how you would do that:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''context''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''dom.event.contextmenu.enabled''' preference to switch it from true to false.
This setting does have a complication: On Google Maps and other sites that have their own right-click menu, Firefox's menu then will block the site's menu. To clear Firefox's menu so you can access the site's menu tap either the Alt key or Esc key once (but sometimes Esc removes both).

Oracle 8i vs 9i JMS implementation?

We are thinking about using 9i instead of 8i.
We know that 8i is not 100% JMS compliant but the question is - is 9i?
In short, does it support the onMessage method, more than one session per connection and JNDI lookup? Oh, and do you still need to downcast to subscribe to topics?
If anyone out there knows the answers you could save us some time and effort.
Any other comments would also be welcome.

I was wondering what you have learned about this issue, Oracle 9i JMS implementation. My specifics are that I am trying to learn whether or not Message driven beans are supported, and if not, what the recommended method is for managing many Async message listeners to a topic. I think that 9i only supports J2EE 1.1 which would imply no MDB support.
