JMS Interface to Advanced Queuing

I want to use the Advanced Queuing features from Java. The rub: I am doing a queue-to-queue message transfer between JMS servers (Swift & Oracle).
What would help me get the the next step is this: I am looking at the SampleUtilities.java file included with the Java Message Service sample programs available at http://java.sun.com/products/jms/docs.html
In this class, there is a method called getQueueConnectionFactory() that returns a QueueConnectionFactory object. I need to add provider-specific code in this method.
Any ideas what the provider-specific code should be? If there is anybody who as made the standard set of sample programs work, perhaps you could post your changes to SampleUtilities.java?
Thanks in advance.

It's important to note the difference between "Oracle9i" and "Oracle9iAS". Much of the AQ documentation is in the Oracle9i documentation set, not the Oracle9iAS set. That is, it's documented in the database documentation, not the application server documentation.
There is certainly some in the AS documentation, but I had to see the database documentation to get some details.

    Problems with Oracle JMS Advanced Queuing
    Hello,
    We have build an application using Advanced Queuing (database version 10.2.0.1.0). Everything works fine using PL/SQL. But when we try to send in messages through the Oracle JMS interface messages with less then 4000 bytes are stored in the queu table but the content of the message is not stored in one of the user data attributes.
    Messages larger then 4000 bytes result in the following error:

  • Java advanced queue MDB class usage

    Hello,
    Loads of questions about JMS AQ and MDB.
    I have not found anything that tells you how to use the oracle.jms classes within a MDB's directly. Do I just cast the message to a AQMessage and retrieve from there?
    I have found plenty of documentation about using the oracle.jms classes. Ive found a lot of information about using advanced queues and enqueing and dequeuing to them in Java. I have found information about MDBs and how to use them as a regular service ie: using TextMessage
    Is there a simple document describing MDB oracle AQ classes? I have looked through umpteen million Oracle documents to no avail.
    Is there an interface for MDB in the Oracle AQ classes which has an onMessage() method which I can implement taking in oracle.jms classes?
    When processing a message that I would like to put on another queue do I call the AQ classes to enqueue a message and set its attributes that way or do I use the JMS classes and their methods to do that?

    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97688_12/generic.903/a97677/mdb.htm#1013265 should get me most of the way there.

    Trying to integrate with User Messaging Service adapter in SOA suite. Can it be possible through an JMS interface.
    I have an JMS backend integrated to Oracle B2B. Is it possible to send an email protocol message using JMS interface to B2B where User messaging Service has been implemented. The adapters required for UMS have been deployed and the sdpmessaging jar files also have been added to the classpath. The only problem i face is i dont have an BPEL system to integrate where as in the forums it has been mentioned how to post a message using BPEL.
    Please let me know if there is a way to integrate the adapter with JMS interface.
    Thanks in advance
    Deepak

    If I remember correct, to use JCA adapter with SOA stack requires that adapter implement some Oracle API.
    The Adapter SDK is a light-weight tool kit that enables rapid implementation and deployment --- http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/adapters/pdf/DS_OracleASAdapter.pdf
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16981_04/current/acrobat/cct115dg.pdf
    Mostly you will have to wrap your jca adapter to make it available in SOA suite/stack.
    Other option is that you adapter provider would have given CCI interface or some custom interface which can be used for invoking adapter end-points.

  • Advanced Queues

    Hi:
    I was testing AQ on Oracle Database XE, and it seems working correctly.
    In the 'Strawman Feature Factoring List' I have seen that Advanced Queuing should be comprised in the production release.
    Has anyone tested throughly this feature on XE?
    Did anyone had issues with it?
    Any feedback welcome,
    Cheers,
    Andrea

    What version?
    For 10G R2 you can Start with:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14229/toc.htm
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14229/toc.htm
    If you are using triggers I would recommend that you create a package that submits to the queues that the triggers interface with. That way you don't litter up the trigger code with AQ specific syntax.
    If you have a more specific question please post it.

  • JPA + Oracle Advanced Queues

    Hi,
    Has anyone managed to share a transaction between the toplink JPA implementation and the Oracle Advanced Queues interface (which uses jdbc; java.sql.connection) in a J2SE environment?
    Running both in a J2EE environment is working fine, as both of them are using the JTA provided by OC4J.
    I've been trying to use JOTM as a lightweight JTA provider, but without any success at this point. JPA is using the datasource created by jotm (that includes the jotm transactionmanager), but it seems like JTA transactions are being ignored by the EntityMaanger at this point...

    Bert

    Hi! I'm not a dev, but I know for sure ODP.NET does not support AQ. You might wanna have a look at Oracle Object for OLE (OO4O). It supports AQ and can be used in both VB.NET and C# through COM Interop. Of course, the performances will not be as good as ODP.NET tho.
    Have a nice one.

  • Advanced Queuing for Oracle / Dequeue failed

    Hi *,
    I'm using Oracle Advanced Queuing and OC4J with some MDBs. Unfortunately sometimes I have following exception:

    All messages hang in my queue with READY state. I really don't know what is happening.
    I have observed that when I run my MDB, but on the different machine, one message is consumed and the same exception arises.
    Why Oracle cannot run dequeue process correctly?
    best regards
    Maciek

    We had similar problems. Mostly the cause was incorrect message type (other than AQ$_JMS..., i. e. ancestor of "message" class) or incorrectly filled body of a message. For example, there seems to be a bug in AQ$_JMS_TEXT_MESSAGE object: you have to set at least one of varchar2 or CLOB in body of message. Otherwise, dequeue will fail, JMS assumes there is some text inside.
    We are using 8i and 9i databases and messages are created using plain constructors (not methods from 9i, since code has to run on either version). I cannot recall any troubles using methods from 9i during researching, but there might be a bug somewhere.

  • Javax.jms: Interface Connection

    Hi all.
    In the above interface is said:

    What does this part exactly mean?

    Can you also help me on this please; I have this piece of code; factory is an object of type: progress.message.jclient.ConnectionFactory

  • Nested Tables and Advanced Queues- Please Help.

    How do i work with NestedTable type and Advanced Queue.
    I have done the following
    I have Oracle 8.1.7 enterprise edition.

    i have already created and tested aqs with simple data types,
    also i have created simple tables with nested table type
    elements.
    but the combo of Nested tables and AQ is not working.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi Francois. Thank you very much for your reply, but it seems that i still get errors. So let me tell what i have done.
    As you suggested me: i have done a block based on a sub-query for the nested-table:
    'select courses from department where name= :department.name'.
    In the master block(department) i have the when-new-record-instance trigger:
    Declare
    LC$Req varchar2(256);
    Begin
    LC$Req := '(select ns.courses from table
    ( select courses from department where name = ''' || :DEPARTMENT.name || ''' ) ns )';
    Go_block('block11');
    Clear_Block ;
    Set_Block_Property( 'block11', QUERY_DATA_SOURCE_NAME, LC$Req ) ;
    Execute_query ;
    End ;
    Now the errors i receive, this time in the runtime mode are:
    - FRM-41380: Cannot set the blocks query data source
    -FRM-41003: This function cannot be performed here.
    Since it seems that you know how to work with the nested table i would really appreaciate your help. I am new in the nested table and if you could give an ex with my tables it would be great.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Routing JMS message from same queue to different channels.

    From a given adapter module, is there a way of calling different communication channels?
    The scenario: The sender of the data is JMS. One single queue contains desperate text format. Based on the content of the first 4 characters , PI has to parse it differently in its own corresponding MT. The target IDoc structure remains the same. I have multiple messageTransformBeans set up, one for each MT assuming that the data would arrive in different JMS queues. However since the data is now all heaped on to a single queue, the challenge of routing the data now lies in SAP PI.
    HowTo - Send Test Messages to the Adapter Engine (to an Integrated Configuration) - This solution does send message directly to the IE (using 7,1), but not to the adapter engine where the messageTransformBeans exist.
    Any solid pointers in the direction will be really helpful.
    Regards,
    Keerti

    Hi,
    you can go for end to end testing.
    if jms not available use file adapter in the sender side and fetch the text file and test it.

    Muni

  • Propagation between queues in Oracle Advanced Queuing

    We would like to connect two queues that reside in different database schemas/instances.
    We try to use the propagation feature of Oracle to achieve this.
    The queue-type is the same for both queues.
    Enqueuing is done with a recipient list in order to set multiple local subscribers for the messages that are put onto the queue.
    We would like to propagate between queues without changing the applications that write to originating queue and the other applications that read from the target queue.
    During our research we only found ways where we need to change the application that writes onto the queue, which is not acceptable for us. Also the list of subscribers needs to be different based on the message.
    Therefore I have the following question:
    - is there a way to set up propagation between queues in a way where we don't need to modify the sending application?
    - if not, is there a different way to connect two queues via a subscriber/consumer?

    Oracle8i for Linux does have AQ, although I haven't evaluated it
    yet. If you're still having trouble with the install, make sure
    you get the patch. A quicker and easier way to get Oracle8i up
    cheaply for evaluation is to download the NT version. I'm
    evaluating Oracle8i for both Linux and NT and the NT version is
    more stable.
    I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences with AQ
    on Oracle8 (8.0.4.3). I have several projects that we have been
    considering using AQ with. Please send me an email and tell me
    what problems / work-arounds you found.
