JMS5007: Illegal connection factory access

Hi,
I'm getting this warning when my MDB is creating a connection to a queue to start consuming messages (onMessage method). The application works, but I'd like to know what this message really means and how to avoid it:
JMS5007: Illegal connection factory access to [jms/InteractionTrackerQCF]. J2EE Components should access JMS Connection Factories through a resource-ref in java:comp/env

In my application server instance, I've created a Connection Factory entry and a Destination Resource with the correct jndi names (and the imqDestinationName property).
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

thanks a lot for your reply. I've tried to change the way I'm looking up for things in the jndi context but I had no success.
If I update the client code, that's the code that creates the messages and I put the complete java:comp/env/jms/InteractionTrackerQCF and java:comp/env/jms/InteractionTracker I get an exception (javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: No object bound to name java:comp/env/jms/InteractionTrackerQCF)
If I update the ejb deployment descritptor to use java:comp/env/jms/InteractionTracker as <jndi-name> element of the <mdb-connection-factory> tag I get the following exception:

    In the code sending the message you have code something like:
    queueConnectionFactory = (QueueConnectionFactory)
    jndiContext.lookup
    ("java:comp/env/jms/MyQueueConnectionFactory");
    This needs to be reflected in the deployment descriptor of the module containing this class. The deployment descriptor entry is called a resource-ref. In Studio, these entries can be set at the module level (ejb module, application client, and web module). The JNDI name and factory type will be specified. The convention is to use jms/FactoryName and the lookup will be performed using "java:comp/env/jms/FactoryName".

    Looks like the JNDI that you created for the ConnectionFactory is not reflected in the server.
    Login to WLS Console> Summary of Servers > server_name > View JNDI Tree
    Browse to the JNDI tree and see if your JNDI is visible there. If it is not then, please restart the server and recheck.
    Once you are able to find it in the JNDI tree, then execute the customization file.
    If you have modified the existing JNDI properties (that have a small exclamatory symbol) then any changes to those are not reflected till all the servers in the cluster are restarted.
    If it still does not work, then recreate a new Connection with a different name and then retry. It should work then.

IOW, by specifying "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" as the EJB lookup name the server is actually treating this as "java:comp/env/java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk". Specify only the ejb context ("ejb/WarehouseClerk") in your lookup and you should be fine.

  • How does JMS Destination relates to a Connection Factory ?

    Hello,
    I am new to JMS but have experience since 1995 with IBM MQseries, I like to understand how Connection Factories and Destination related to each other. I have looked at JMS documentation and seen the graphical representation but in MQ world we create a Queue Manger and a Queue under it. I have looke all over but can not explain this to myself.
    In Sun�s Java Application Server version 9, I have created a Connection Factory called �jms/ConnectionFactory_abc� and then have created a Destination called �jms/destination_abc� and successfully sent and received messages, what I do not understand is that there is no menu option in Sun�s web based screen to related the 2 together!! How do they relate? Do they related becuase of my program logic?
    What if you like to have same Destination names under 2 different Factories?

    I'll have a stab at this one, but may not be 100% right. Hopefully someone will point out anything I've got wrong.
    A connection factory is used to obtain a connection to the JMS provider, which in the case of MQSeries is synonymous Queue Manager. The connection is used to initiate one or more conversations with the JMS provider / QM, which might include starting a new transactional session.
    The destinations (Queues or Topics) are objects hosted by the JMS provider, however your client can only access these objects after establishing a connection / session, since it is the connection / session which determines the protocols and parameters to be used.
    The JNDI lookups are just a way for your client to obtain a remote reference to the Connection Factory and Queue objects hosted by the JMS provider, without coupling your client with the underlying JMS implementation (i.e. MQSeries, JBossMQ, ActiveMQ etc). When these references are bound to the JNDI tree they are given names like "jms/ConnectionFactory_abc" and "jms/destination_abc", but are not related to each other. Attempting to bind two references with the same JNDI name (on the same JNDI server) will cause in an error. So while you can two identically named queues on separate queue managers, you would have to give them different JNDI names,

    I have tried to implement the JMS provider (OJMS) according to the following document :

    I am also facing the same issue in SAP PI NWA  for creating a JCA connection factory so that I can use the user module to convert IDOCs to flat file.            we are on SAP PI 7.11  sp06....
    error details : CF_XX_180 failed due to: Can not add connection factory '', Reason: . See the log file for more details.
    The logs details : Can not set authentication user store "null" in security context "CF_XX_XX0" for connector "CF_XX_XX0" in application "sap.com/tc~sapjra".".
    could you share info, how your issue got solved..

  • Problem in datasource and connection factory.

    I am using a connection factory to make connections to the database.
    First I create a connection pool then i created a datasource and finally i used the JNDI Location name which i used inside the BPEL to create a connection factory.
    Does this activity requires a restart of server. I am getting the following error.

  • Change the weblogic default jms connection factory

    Hello!
    Is possible to change the JMS Default Connection Factory (weblogic.jms.ConnectionFactory) in Weblogic?
    It doesn't appears on Admin console. Is possible to access it through WLST? I can 't find it on MBean tree (domain an server config).
    I want to change some Flow Control settings. I know I can create a new Connection Factory, but I don't want to change my application code uses teh default CF jndi name.

    There's no way to change the default connection factory tuning. If you need to tune a CF setting for an app that's using a default CF, then tuning is accomplished using the steps you mentioned: (A) configuring a custom connection factory, and (B) changing apps that need specialized tuning to refer to the JNDI name of the custom connection factory.

    Hi,
    Can someone clarify the difference between connection pool and connection factory.
    I know connection pool is some thing like a pool of database connection manitained at one place so that an application or client can use it when it requires.
    Then wat exactly is connection factory..say in 10g we always put a connection factory name in all adapters and acces the data sources like DB ,FTP,AQ ..etc

    To conserve system resources and to improve the performance of transactional applications, WebLogic allows you to define a pool of client connections (generally database but may be a FTP,FILE etc. as well)
    A Connection Factory object encapsulates a set of connection configuration parameters that has been defined by an administrator. A client uses it to create a connection with a service provider (generally JMS).

    Close ... before going for a specific Cisco app ... lets find out some details:
    Host we need more details:
    What is your server environment (Windows Server, or Mac OS X Server, or Linux)?
    What security is implemented in your environment - as what is restricted (RDP for all or specifc credentials on all machines? Are you part of local admin group to the server you wish to connect)?
    Does your environment Support CISCO IPSec connection? If so use Settings> VPN and IPSec tab to enter VPN details, if not then go with above suggestion. IF your restricted to RSA then either built in VPN settings or 3rd party app for RSA would suffice.
    Finally, there are many RDP applications out there I use "Mocha RDP Light" (free minimal ads when launched not when connecting).

    I got an exception error for connecting to Access 2007 (.accdb) . However, I can connect to the Access file with the .mdb file. I am using window vista. I would like to know is there anything I need to configure to be able to connect to the Access (.accdb).

              An EJB starts a container managed transaction and tries to validate a credit card
              before creating some information to a database for the user, in case of success
              an SMS is sent to the user via the transacted JMS queue. If the credit card authentications
              duration is about the same as the transactions timeout (in this case the default
              30 seconds) sometimes the database inserts is committed but the JMS insert is
              rollbacked. How can this be?
              If the authorization duration is much longer than 30 seconds everything works
              fine (both database and JMS inserts rollbacked), the same is true if a rollback
              is insured by calling EJBContext.setRollbackOnly(). The problem thus occurs only
              if the duration is approximately the same as the transaction timeout, it appears
              that the database insert is not timeouted but the JMS insert is. How can this
              be if they are both participating in the same transaction.
              The JMSConnectionFactory used is a Connection factory with XA-enabled. The result
              is the same also with the default "javax.jms.QueueConnectionFactory" and if we
              configure our own factory with user transactions enabled.

              Make sure that your session is not "transacted". In other words,
              the first parameter to createSession() must be false. There is an
              unfortunate name re-use here. If a session is "transacted", it
              maintains an independent "inner transaction" independent of the
              outer transaction. From the above description, it seems unlikely
              that your application has this wrong, as you say that
              "setRollbackOnly" works - but please check anyway.
              Make sure that you are using a true XA capable driver and database
              (XA "emulation" may not suffice)
              Beyond the above, I do not see what can be going wrong. You
              may want to try posting to the transactions and jdbc newsgroups. Note
              that JMS is appears to be exhibiting the correct behavior, but the
              JDBC operation is not. The JDBC operation appears to have
              its timeout independent of the transaction monitor's timeout.

  • JMS proxy and XA connection factory

    Hi all,
    I would like to ask you what is the best practice to adopt about the scenario described below.
    A JMS proxy retrieves a message and processes it.
    Any error could occurr during processing it and, in case of errors, the JMS proxy error handler publishes the message on ad hoc recovery destination D.
    (later another app will check failed messages for fixing & republishing them into ALSB).
    In that scenario we have the JMS proxy and the jms business service that, in case of errors, publishes on destination D.
    Should the JMS proxy and the business service use both a XA connection factory in order to perform all the above steps in one transaction ?
    Otherwise if the business service itself fails publishing on destination D, the message retrieved by the JMS proxy is lost and not re-delivered to the JMS proxy.
    Or XA connection factory is not needed and could I use
    Routing Options with exactly once or both are needed ?

    To publish message into MyRecoveryQueue2 a proxy error handler has to be added and here added explicit publish to MyRecoveryQueue2.
    But naturally in that case if in the proxy error handler, the explicit publish fails or any error occurrs no message is delivered to recovery queue.
    So if I'm not using an XAFactory the message is auto-acknowledged as soon as it is read and I've to use XA factory if I want the message to be put back in the queue in case of errors and the retry to happen.
    So both my proxy service and business service use an XA factory.

  • Error when creating a new JMS connection factory in GlassFish V3 b57

    When I use the admin console and try to create a new JMS connection factory in GlassFish V3 b57, the operation fails with the error message
    An error has occurred: Can't find ConfigModel.Property for attr -connection-validation-required on interface com.sun.enterprise.config.serverbeans.ConnectorConnectionPool
    Should I better report this in the GlassFish news forum (http://forums.java.net/jive/forum.jspa?forumID=56&start=0)?
    p.s. I launch the admin console from within NetBeans 6.7.1 (the server started before the IDE). WIth version b 56, creating a JMS connection factory worked fine.
