JNDI Blank Names in Verify Tool

I am getting the following messages form App Server 8 when I select localhost:4848 from inside the Deployment Tool. Also, I have successfully set up a Datasource Connection Pool and a JDBC Resource from the Admin Console (Ping works). However, when I try to map the JNDI names inside the Deployment Tool I get a message that essentially says that the JNDI name is blank while trying to verify J2EE Compliance. Blanks do not appear in the resource-ref tab or the combo box for Sun Specific Settings. I suspect these 2 problems are related but I haven't a clue as to where to start looking. Any one have any suggestions.

I am having a problem with similar symptoms to this. I have just installed the AppServer on both my home workstation and my laptop. I am trying to use my home workstation as the Application Server, and do the development work on my laptop. Whenever I try to connect deploytool from the laptop to the workstation I get a connection error popup, and the workstation AppServer logs report the following error:
[#|2004-06-23T11:30:05.649-0300|SEVERE|j2ee-appserver1.4|javax.enterprise.system.tools.admin|_ThreadID=13;|ADM030:The ObjectName [com.sun.appserv:type=clusters,category=config] cant be registered as the configuration does not have it|#]
What does this mean? I can connect to each machine from itself (using 'localhost') but they cannot connect to each other using the deploytool interface. They CAN connect to each other using the asadmin page without any problems. Both machines are on the same private network and not separated by firewalls.

    Hi,
I have the oracle 9i database as well as the oc4j instance in my local machine.I am trying to deploy a J2ee Application on the OC4j instance, using eclipse IDE.I have not created any connection pool or datasource in the oc4j instance but after i build the application I see that the connection pool and datasource instance have been created in the OC4j instance.

Following are the contents of Oc4J home->services->jdbc resources:
    Datasource:
    Name jdbc/TicketLoggingSystem
    Application TicketLoggingSystem
    JNDI Location jdbc/TicketLoggingSystem
    Connection Pool
    Managed by OC4j
    Test
when i click the datasource name,I see that its type is Native datasource with no related connection pool.
Whereas for the default datasource oracleDS,
    Type     Managed Data Source
    Connection Pool     Example Connection Pool
However on deployment a connection pool is also created along with the datasource
    Name jdbc/TicketLoggingSystem_connectionPool
    Application TicketLoggingSystem
    ConnectionFactory class : oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource
Do we need to bind this connection pool to our datasource? If yes how is it done. And if that is not required, why is this connection pool created? Are the datasource and connection pool already bound to each other?
Also when I test either the datasource or connection pool,it says
    Confirmation
    Connection to "jdbc/TicketLoggingSystem_connectionPool" established successfully
    or
    Connection to "jdbc/TicketLoggingSystem" established successfully.
and displays both the connection pool and datasource details together for both the tests.
In my java code, while trying to establish connection to the database what should I mention in lookup i.e,
    InitialContext context = new InitialContext();
    DataSource dataSource = (DataSource) context.lookup("     jdbc/TicketLoggingSystem or      jdbc/TicketLoggingSystem_connectionPool");
    con = dataSource.getConnection();
Sorry if I am sounding novice. Thanks a lot in advance,

  • 10.4.10 update stuck at blank Name: blank Password: won't take my signin?

So I installed the 10.4.10 update, first from the System update. Rebooted. System was stuck at 100% blue progress bar on "Starting Mac OS X..."; rebooted. Same problem. Started researching... started in Safe mode, deleted "caches", verified and repaired disk permissions, deleted uneeded "startup items"; rebooted....
Got as far as a BLANK "Name:" and "Password:" on the login screen, but it will not take my info.
    Went back into "Safe mode" installed the 10.4.10 combo update manually; Rebooted; stuck at 100% blue progress bar on "Starting Mac OS X..."; rebooted; Zapped my PRAM;
At this again: BLANK "Name:" and "Password:" on the login screen, but it will not take my info.

  • Verifier tool tests - any information or descriptions?

    Hi,
I have an EJB application that has suddenly developed a mysterious problem that is preventing it from being deployed, quite a concern at this stage...
The verifier tool informs the following for each of the 4 SessionBeans being used:
    Item: XxxxxxSessionEJB
    Test Name: tests.ejb.elements.EjbReferencesElement
    Result: FAILED
Detail: Unexpected error in verifier, check for problems related to: [ java.lang.NullPointerException ]I searched the forums and found some topics from 6-12 months ago, but nobody had any answers then.
Does anybody know where there are details on the tests performed by the verifier tool? What is the EjbReferencesElement test exactly? I guess something to do with relationships between EJBs, but what? Where can I find any information on this topic? Or how can I ignore the errors and deploy anyway?
Anything has to be better than "Unexpected error"! That is the most useless error message ever.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Ben
The full contents of Results.txt is:
                       FAILED TEST - EJB tests

                       WARNING TEST - EJB tests
There are no EJB tests tests with status of warning.

OK the problem is fixed now. Basically the deployment descriptors were incorrect.
When I upgraded from j2sdk EE 1.3 to the 1.3.1 version, the verifier tool produced much more useful output, which enabled me to correct the problem.
I would still be interested, though, if anyone has any information or links on the actual tests performed by the verifier tool and their meanings.

  • Migration Verifier Tool for SQL Developer Migrations?

    Hi all,
The old Migration Workbench has an optional add on verification tool to verify migrations to Oracle.
I am looking for a similar migration verifier tool for the SQL Developer migration process.
Does one currently exist for SQL Developer migration tools?
    Regards,
    Ben Prusinski

    Hi Ben,
The old migration verifier seems to be at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration//dmv/index.html
Sue Harper (Product Manager) would be the person to comment further probably through SQLDeveloper statement of direction:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/files/sqldeveloperstatementofdirection.htm
I do not see anything there.
There is a tools->database diff wizard which I have not looked into in detail and I doubt that applies for migrations.

  • Pre verify tool for wireless Java apps - HPUX

    Hi wireless gurus,
    1. Does Oracle ships a pre verify tool for wireless Java apps for HPUX platform with any of it's products.
    2. Please let me know any such tool for HPUX, preferably with a free demo version

    Hi wireless gurus,
    1. Does Oracle ships a pre verify tool for wireless Java apps for HPUX platform with any of it's products. What kind of pre-verify tools are you referring to?
If you are looking something to verify Java code in general, then Jdeveloper has some features built-in for this purpose.
The Oracle9IAS Wireless service designer allows you test, try, and debug wireless apps.

  • Can DNSServer Powershell module cmdlets be used to add a host record with a blank name? i.e. "(same as parent folder)"

Giving Add-DnsServerResourceRecordA a blank name yields an error (basically saying that the 'Name' parameter cannot be null or empty). In DNS Manager (dnsmgmt.msc)
adding such a host record yields a record with the same name as the parent folder, denoted by "(same as parent folder)" in the Name column.
Is there some flag I can pass to Add-DnsServerResourceRecordA to achieve the latter functionality? Is there some other way to achieve this in Powershell?
I currently have the line of PS below, and if $name="" I get the error.
    Add-DnsServerResourceRecordA -IPv4Address $ip -ZoneName $zone -Name $name -ComputerName $dns

    Thanks, Calin!
This could be added as an example here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj649925.aspx
Now that I see your answer Example 6 looks like it was supposed to use -Name "." but part of the line is missing so it just looks broken instead.

  • Help!!  I changed my log in screen to show a blank name and pw. Now I cannot open the computer???

Help!!  I changed my log in screen to show a blank name and pw. Now I cannot open the computer???

1.Turn on the computer and when you hear the startup chime hold CMD+S. This boots the computer into single-user mode, giving you root access.
2.Once single-user mode loads (it looks like a black screen with white text) mount the hard drive. So at the prompt type in:
    /sbin/mount -uw /
    3. Now that the drive is mounted we can edit the file system. We need to delete a file that tells your computer that you have completed setup. So type in:
    rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
4.We need the system to reboot so it can check for the file and not find it. Type in:
    reboot
    5.Continue setup
Be sure to select “DO NOT TRANSFER MY DATA”.
    6.Finish setup and login.
    7. Go to system preferences and edit that account so it HAS A NAME.

  • Acrobat 7-how to keep author name in Note Tool permanently blank?

One of my main uses for Acrobat is to review academic documents, which is meant to be done anonomously. When I use Tools>Commenting>NoteTool, my login name appears in the Note Tool box, even though I have deselected "Always use Log-in name for author name"
I know I can delete the author name in the properties box of any individual note, but is there any way to make a blank space the default author name?

You should make your sidebar1 and sidebar2 fixed positioned. Make your content DIV fluid.
    This should help you: http://www.glish.com/css/7.asp

  • Is there a way for the Yosemite maps app to add address to an existing contact (in contacts app) instead of creating new contact record with blank name (not useful)?

I was using the maps app in yosemite to look up an address, once I was able to verify the address, I wanted to add that address to an existing contact record in the contacts app.  When I clicked on the option to add address to contacts, it unfortunately creates a new record with the address in it, however, the rest of the contact is blank.
My question is: is there a way to prompt the user (me), to select whether they want to create a new contact or add it to an existing contact?
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Blank schema in Oracle Tool

    Hello,
When running Oracle BI Administration Tool and trying to import metadata for connection pool I'm getting blank schema.
Browsing web got me some suggestions about missing OCI libraries. I have installed them, and the system path contains the correct path for those libraries.
However I'm still not seeing anything in "import metadata" in BI Administration Tool.
Now, I'm usually getting quite confused with oracle versions.
Following are the versions of the software/systems:
    Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.6.0
Oracle BI Administration Tool 11.1.1.5.0.111228.0622.000, Repository version 318
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bi
    Oracle Client (win32_11gR2_client) 11g Release 2 (11.2) for Microsoft Windows (32-Bit)
The only possible mismatch is that the OCI libraries that were installed on my machine are 32bit, and machine is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64 bit.
Could this be the source of problems?
Other suggestions found online were to rename oracore##.dll to some other number, but I'm not 100% sure which to use.
Any advice is more than welcome,
    Marcin J

Use oracle client 64 bit and use that to import that should take care of it

  • Screen goes blank when using Patch tool

The only information I've been able to find on this issue thus far was a post that was written during the Photoshop CS6 beta period at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4285375
I am using the final released Photoshop CS6 software, not beta, and am having the same issue with the Patch tool. I start to drag around an area to make a selecton, and the screen goes blank so that I can't see where I'm making the selection. When I release the mouse, the image appears again. Another problem which may be related is that sometimes when I zoom in, the screen goes blank. Closing Photoshop and re-launching it usually fixes the problem, but is an annoying time-waster. I have the most current update from the Cloud for Photoshop CS6, 13.1.2.X64.
Does anyone know a fix for this?

RAM is 12 GB. I'm not sure which numbers are relevant for VRAM and scratch drive, but this is what I found for video card properties:
Total Available Graphics Memory: 2809 MB
    Dedicated Video memory: 1024 MB
    System Video Memory: 0 MB
    Shard System Memory: 1785 MB
