JNDI InitialContext Error
Hello Experts,
I have a little problem with my Java programm:
Test remote = null;
* try {*
// Create a new intial context, which loads from jndi.properties file.
* Context ctx = new InitialContext();*
* System.out.println("Context:" + ctx);*
// Look up the home interface using the JNDI name.
// This JNDI lookup returns a reference to an EJBHome instance.
* TestHome home = (TestHome) ctx.lookup("sap.com/TestWorldEar/TestBean");*
* System.out.println("TestHome:" + home);*
// Create a session object.
* remote = home.create();*
* System.out.println("Remote:" + remote);*
// Invoke the remote EJB methods, test and debug.
* System.out.println("Result:" + remote.getWert());*
* } catch (Exception e) {*
* System.out.println("Exception: " + e.getLocalizedMessage());*
I always get the following error and I don't know how to solve the problem.
Exception: Need to specify class name in environment or system property, or as an applet parameter, or in an application resource file: java.naming.factory.initial
I hope anybody of you can help me solving this problem.
Additional information:
The Java program is running on a XI (Netweaver 7.0).
I want to get information from a deployed EJB. The Bean still works.
Thank you for your answers in advance!!!
Greetings, Alexander
Hi,
this Exception is thrown after this result: Context:javax.naming.InitialContext@cdfc9c and before the lookup.

Adapter JNDI are errored out in JNDI tree on Weblogic
Hey,
I have setup weblogic 10.3.4 and SOA Suite 11g.
The adapters seem to be deployed and active with a green 'OK' status in the deployments on the soa_server1. However when I go to the jndi tree for the soa_server1, all the adapters have an '!' for errored out.
This is causing various problems. In particular when a process using the Oracle Apps Adapter is deployed it is unable to find the jdbc connection associated with the adapter. However, the jdbc jndi entry is in the tree and the jdbc connection test's just fine.
So there seems to be a missing link in how the adapters are deployed and how the JNDI is getting updated or something.
The error is below. Any help appreciated.

And also i need to mention other problem is that everytime i compile, deploy and start the server i am getting open failure exception and server not recognizing the ejb jar and if i close and restart the RSA server starts well.
Pls help me in solving this issue.Hi All
Two separate webapps, have different names for
Datasources, on the same host and port. Both
application work fine independently.
When we deploy both applications on the same app
server(websphere), whichever we executes first gets
its datasource from JNDI lookup and works fine, but
when we try second application it have problem in
finding its data source from JNDI lookup. If we start
this second application first, it will work fine, but
now another will have the same problem in its JNDI
lookup.
Any idea why.
Thanks
....RanvirHi Ranvir,
Do you mean you try to reach the same datasource with different names or do you try to reach different datasources over the same port?
If you try the first issue you shouldn't get any trouble. At least it works fine with JBOSS for example.
But if you try to do the latter in my oppinion you don't have a JNDI problem but a problem with socket binding: the two different databases must be contacted over different ports.
What do WebSphere's logs tell?
Best regards

Dear All.
Always when I go to my application url I have er: "JBO-26061: Error while opening JDBC connection"
and a page is displayed only partially (not fully rendered).
In my case i have 5 development enviroments where I'm deploying my application.
On 3 envs app works prefectly but on 2 not. The only main difference (that i found) between thoese
servers is a timezone. Env: 1,2,3 has GMT+1 last two GMT. I didn't set up those machines, but from
far as I was told, configuration is the same. Weblogic version: 10.3.6.0
Does anybody now how to fix it? Before I will change a time, I would like to get familiar if a time difference could be an issue.
Regards.
Robert.

Edited by: user623575 on 20-Jun-2012 01:30update:
always when I run my application in weblogic console (Summary of JDBC Data Sources->Monitoring) JDBC DataSource Runtime Statistics show
state overloaded.
Active Connections Average Count, Active Connections Current Count, Active Connections High Count = 15.
I receive this information only on 2 enviroments from 5. Strange case because JNDI connection is configuret exactly the same.
Any solutions guys?

Hello.
I'm currently using SQLDeveloper version 1.5.0.5.3 and since maybe three versions ago, I started getting frequently the following error when opening the application:
{color:#ff0000}SEVERE 60 0 oracle.jdevimpl.db.adapter.DefaultContextWrapper failed to create naming Context for db connections at url: file:/C:/Documents and Settings/jvargem/Application Data/SQL Developer/system1.5.0.53.38/o.jdeveloper.db.connection.11.1.1.0.22.49.35/connections.xml

When this error happens, no connections are displayed, which prevents me from using the application unless I create the connection all over again!
As I said this happens frequently and afterwards I have to close and restart the application several times until the error goes away. The problem is that sometimes it doesn't go away and I have to restart the computer and restart all over again, hoping it will work.
As anyone experienced this? Any idea of what may be happening and how to solve it?
Thanks a lot
João VargemPlease read the whole thread before posting.
You did search the forum, which is great, but then read what people respond! There was only 1 reply here, so that shouldn't be too much work...
If the latest version still gives you problems, do get back though.

Unable to start soa server with anonymous attempt to JNDI resource error
I created a new outbound connection in my JMS Adapter deployment then I also created a new Foreign Server in my JMS Module that is deployed on my SOA server.
Now when i try to restart my SOA server it is failing with the below exception.

I have deleted the outbound connection as well as the new Foreign server but still when restarting I am getting the same error.
How can I fix this?
This is blocking me from doing my development work.
Thanks,
RajeshCan you check the config.xml of the domain and see if you are still having any references to the JNDI name you had used? If yes try removing the references manually and save the file and then restart the server. PLEASE TAKE A BACKUP OF THE config file before doing so.

Weblogic Global JNDI Access Error
Attempting to access a global JNDI entry from a clustered Weblogic 12c environment. Any attempt to perform a lookup of an object listed under the global JNDI entry (java:global) causes a java.lang.AssertionError exception with a "Context may not be null" message. Lookup of other JNDI objects works as expected.
The following is a copy of remote test code used to reproduce the problem. It iterates through the root NameClass pairs of the InitialContext retrieved. Thanks for all the help from this newsgroup.Hi,
SOAP has nothing to do with JMS, althout a SOAP message can be sent into
JMS, nor really do EJBs have anything to with JMS directly, and this is
the jms newsgroup. I think your problem is EJB related, try
weblogic.developer.interest.ejb, or, since your using a web-service, try
the weblogic.developer.interest.webservices newsgroup.

Hi all,
I am trying to obtain a jndi Context with the following method:
public static Context getInitialContext() throws javax.naming.NamingException {
Properties props = new Properties();
props.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl");
props.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "localhost:50004");
Context jndiContext = new InitialContext(props);
return jndiContext;
When I execute the code from an external client I get the following exception:
javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Cannot instantiate class: com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl [Root exception is java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sap.engine.services.jndi.InitialContextFactoryImpl]
at javax.naming.spi.NamingManager.getInitialContext(NamingManager.java:657)
at javax.naming.InitialContext.getDefaultInitCtx(InitialContext.java:247)
Any ideas? Thanks,
ArneHi Arne,
Seems your client doesn't have the required jars on its classpath. You need the following: sapj2eeclient.jar, exception.jar, logging.jar from /usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/j2ee/j2eeclient.
HTH!

Under a stress test load over around 100 users we seem to be able to hang
the WLS 5.1 SP6 server after only a few minutes. A thread dump shows all
execute threads waiting on the initialContext method, where we are
attempting to contact the JNDI service on another WLS 5.1 SP6 server.
Reducing the code down to a simple JSP doing nothing more than constructing
the initialContext and then closing it shows the same problem!
JDK : Sun 1_3_0
Anybody seem this or have any idea? Also have tried using a cached context
but then the problem seems to move to the EJB lookup or business method
invoke. Most strange but rather a show stopper for the scale we are looking
for from the application.Will try to get a copy but I'm off site right now and don't have a copy to
hand. Of the execute threads all had stalled on Object.wait() with the chain
starting from either an initialContext() construction or lookup() method.
Reading around the JNDI Context I get the feeling (a) the service is
syncronised (b) should be called sparingly. In the case we are working with
the Provider_URL is another host.

It looks like you haven't specified the INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY property -- the name of the class that creates the "java.naming.InitialContext" class.
Perhaps you would care to show the entire error message and stack trace, as well as the part of your code that is causing the error, and perhaps a few details about your environment.
Then I might be able to help you some more.

There appears to be a leak when creating the default jndi initial context

PS: Apologies to the very helpful support folks at Weblogic -- I just sent
them a separate email, but this is
turning into a critical last-minute problem, so instead of waiting, I'm also
polling everyone on the
news-groups.The problem remains even with the .close()
I've been informed by Weblogic support that creating user-threads within the
Weblogic server is not supported.
My Optimizeit traces appear to indicate that the leak arises from Weblogic
using the Thread.currentThread() object to index a static Thread-local cache
that contains
various interesting bits of information pertinent to the current thread.
(Thus Thread objects
are never garbage-collectable once you use 'most any Weblogic implemented
services within
the thread.)
The workaround support suggested was essentially to run the task
using one of the threads they keep in their execute-thread pool.
The mechanics of their recommendation is to use the Weblogic Time service to
.run() a
Runnable within a Triggerable task (and schedule it ASAP).
Time service tasks are run using a free thread within their execute-thread
pool, so
I speculate the "leak" is then invisible, because all the action happens
within a
fixed set of threads. (Weblogic apparently never idles out any of execute
threads,
so they cannot be GC'ed anyway, and re-using them re-uses the Thread-local
cache.)

You might try closing your context in a finally block - context.close().
That usually seems to be a good thing. But this is a guess.

ejbtest, i get the error below. I tried it with and without my EJB jar
in the weblogic.class.path, the same error occurs. The other weird
thing i don't have the same problems in my local Win2K PC.

jc,
Do you have weblogic510sp11.jar at the head of your client classpath?
If not, please include it and test again.
