Joining 2 different xml documents

Hi,
I have 2 different xml documents coming from different sources and i want to join the second document inside the first document root.How could i do??
Any example will be appreciated!!
Here is the example data:::
XML DOCUMENT(1)
<PopularModels>
<Manufacturer Make="Nokia"/>
</PopularModels>
XML DOCUMENT(2)
<Device>
<Price value="100"/>
</Device>
I want to join as follows:
<PopularModels>
<Manufacturer Make="Nokia"/>
<Device>
<Price value="100"/>
</Device>
</PopularModels>
null

Here is an example XSL file only for your example data, please modify to meet your further requirements.
<?xsl version="1.0"?>
<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0">
<xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes"/>
<xsl:variable name="ex" select="document('try02.xml')"/>
<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:for-each select="PopularModels/child::*">
<xsl:copy-of select="."/>
</xsl:for-each>
<xsl:for-each select="$ex/child::*">
<xsl:copy-of select="."/>
</xsl:for-each>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
Hope this will help.

  • How to HTTP-Post different XML messages to one receiving URL on XI side?

    Hi
    I have a problem with a HTTP => XI => IDoc scenario.
    A client want to send 4 different XML documents to only 1 receiving URL on the XI side. How can I handle this in XI???
    To send XML data via HTTP to XI you have to specify the namespace, interface and service in the URL. But I only can specify 1 namespace, interface and namespace in the URL...
    But how can I define a generic message interface for all 4 messages.
    The solution with 4 receiving URL's is easy, but not workable for the client
    Thx
    manuku

    You can do following:
    Create an interface with an artificial root node like this:
    root
      - structure message 1
      - structure message 2
      - structure message 3
    A simple XSLT/Java mapping adds that root node to every message.
    Create different mappings based on the structure if the different mappings and do routing based on the same.
    Another option: Upgrade to PI 7.1. Here you can simply create a service interface with different operations and routing/mapping based on the operations.

  • Identifying an XML document type

    I am reading XML message off a queue using JMS and I want to determine the XML document type so I can use the proper schema for validation. Since different XML documents will be coming in off the same queue I need to determine the document type so I can use the proper schema for validation.
    Is there a good way to do this? So far I have been doing the following but I am looking for a better solution:
    *Use the JMS headers to store the XML message type.  Not always possible.
    *Read the first few lines of the XML as a file and parse for the root node or .xsd.

    What I am refering to is a situation where I have one queue that has multiple incoming XML documents.
    For example:
    PurchaseOrder.xml needs to be read off a queue validated via PurchaseOrder.xsd
    PartsOrder.xml needs to be read off the same queue and validated with PartsOrder.xsd. I am trying to find and eloquent solution to identify if I have a PartsOrder or a PurchaseOrder, so I can set the proper schema for validation when parsing the XML doc.

  • Load different xml docs to same database table

    I have 2 different xml documents that contains the information about rows which should be loaded into a database table.
    File 1:
    <customer>
    <name>Company1</name>
    <city>Helsinki</city>
    </customer>
    File 2:
    <client>
    <clientname>Company2</clientname>
    <clientcity>Helsinki</clientcity>
    </client>
    The data in the 2 different files should be read and inserted as a row into the same database table.
    Instead of creating a java program for each xml file to insert the content into the database, I would like to first "translate" the content of the xml files and create a file for each xml file which uses the same tags, so that my java programs only reads the new "translated" files and inserts the data into the database.
    This means that when I receive a new xml file with different tags but information about a row that should be inserted into the same table, I just have to "translate" this file, and use the same java program to insert the new file data into the database.
    I would like to know which technology should be used to perform this task.

    XSLT is quite commonly used for this.
    Or, for more a formal approach, google 'xml "architectural forms"'

    Well, the requirement was to have elements from different XML in a single master XML. The way we achieved this - read from each XML, append to a string buffer and construct the combined XML (which passes on for use elsewhere).
    Hope this helps anyone with a similar requirement.
    Many Thanks for looking.

  • Error while loading an XML document using a structured application

    Hi,
    I try to load an XML document using a structured application defined in the default structapps.fm
    My code is shown down, extracted from the FDK API code sample.
    Problem, I always have the same message :
    "Cannot find the file named e:\xml\AdobeFrameMaker10\file. Make sure that the file exists. "
    Where "e:\xml\AdobeFrameMaker10\" is my install directory.
    So I assume that frame try to find the structapps.fm file but does not find it.
    What else can it be ?
    Does anyone knowns how to achieve this simple task using extendScript ?
    Thanks for any comments, Pierre

    Pierre,
    Depending on the object "myLastFile", the method openDlg might not even exist (if the myLastFile object is not a File object, for instance). And I do not see any need for the myLastFile anyhow, as you are presenting a dialog to select a file to open. I recommend using the global ChooseFile( ) method instead. This will give you a filename as string in full path notation, or null when no file was selected in the dialog. I am not sure what your ExtendScript documentation states about the return value for ChooseFile, but if that differs from what I am telling you here, the documentation is wrong. So, if you replace the first lines of your code with the following it should work:
    function openXMLFile ( ) {
        var filename = ChooseFile ( "Choose XML file ...", "", "*.xml", Constants.FV_ChooseSelect );
    While writing this, I see that Russ has already given you the same advice. Use the symbolic constant value I indicated to use the ChooseFile dialog to select a single file (it can also be used to select a directory or open a file - but you want to control the opening process yourself). Note that this method allows you to set a start directory for the dialog (second parameter). The ESTK autocompletion also gives you a fifth parameter "helplink" which is undocumented and can safely be ignored.
    Good luck
    Jang

  • How to save sections of a single XML Document to multiple tables ?

    Firstly, I apologise for the long e-mail but I feel it's necessary in order to clarify my problem/question.
    The XML document representation below stores information about a particular database. From the information in the XML document you can tell that there is a single database called "tst" which contains a single table called "tst_table". This table in turn has two columns called "CompanyName" & "Country".
    I want to use Oracle's XML SQL Utility to store this information into three seperate database tables. Specifically, I want to store the information pertaining to the database (i.e. name etc.) in one table, the information pertaining to the table (name, no. of columns etc.) in another and the information pertaining to the columns (name, type etc.) in yet another table.
    I have seen samples where an entire XML Document is saved to a database table but I cannot find any examples where different sections of a single XML Document are saved into different database tables using the XML SQL Utility.
    Can you please tell me the best approach to take in order to accomplish this . Does it involve creating an XMLDocument and then extracting the relevant sections as XMLDocumentFragment's, retrieving the String representations of these XMLDocumentFragment's and passing these strings to the OracleXMLSave.insertXml() method.
    Is this the best approach to take or are there any other, perhaps more efficient or elegant, ways of doing this ?
    Thanks in advance for your help

  • How to compare the contents of two XML documents

    Hi all,
    I was trying to compare the contents of two xml documents, they are both validate for the same XML Schema. i was using the xmlunit to do this. but some how it doesn't work like what i have expected. for example:
    1.xml : <test><item>2</item><item>1</item></test>
    2.xml: <test><item>3</item><item>2</item><item>1</item></test>
    the result from XMLUnit is this two xmls are different, but it compares <item>2</item> with <item>3</item>, which i cannot find out where the real diiffs are.
    does anybody know how i can do this correct?
    best regards,
    tina

    I faced a similar problem in one of my projects and hence wrote my own comparator. Most comparators like ExamXML etc show XML as different if the nodes under a parent node occur in different seqeunce or a set of repeated nodes occur in different sequence. The comparator that I wrote gives you the flexibility to configure how to identify a node from a set of repeated nodes and is able to compare them successfully if they occur in any order. You can view the sample output at http://geocities.com/dheerendra_itbhu/TipsFromDheeru.html
    and contact me in case you need the source code.

    For the last 5 years (and in IPCC3.x/4.x,UCCX/5.x/7.x) I've used the same basic subflow to read a XML document that contains holiday dates where the queue should be closed.  I've re-used this script on 20+ client installs and it's always worked.  The structure of the script allows you to pass the path and filename of the XML document as parameters to the subflow. (The document is in the repository)
    I loaded this script in UCCX 8.0.2 recently and it crashed with a Java.IO error.  It looked like it was trying to read the file system directly and not the repository. (In the Linux appliance model this kind of makes sense but why is the step trying to read the file system directly?)
    So I open a TAC case (SR# 615243125) and TAC tells me that the method of using the Create File Document step is not supported anymore and that I should specify the filename directly in the Create XML Document step
    The problem that I see (aside from having to edit all my scripts that use XML files) is that the Create XML Document step is looking for the input to be a type DOCUMENT and not a type STRING.  This seems to imply that I have to hardcode the document in each script that I deploy for a customer.  When it was a string it was easy to construct the full file path from parameters and pass to the subflow.
    Questions to the group
    #1 Am I missing something here?
    #2  Do you assume that you'll be able to load a script that worked fine in UCCX 7 into UCCX 8 and that it should completely function when you're doing everything according to the step reference documentation.
    #3 Cisco didn’t document this in any way that I can find.
    #4 How can you use the Create XML Document step in a fashion that would let you construct the path of the file and the filename previously in the script so you could pass it to a subflow ?  It would seem this functionality has been killed in UCCX 8

    The create XML document input can only be a type DOCUMENT

    #1 Am I missing something here?
    You are mixing two different issues together here.
    The Create File Document step is indeed not needed or supported for creating an XML document. That is why there is a unique step; to trigger XML parsing within the MIVR subsystem.
    Accessing the file system is restricted to a single folder within the VOS model (i.e. 8.0+). This folder is not backed up, replicated, or cleaned up automatically. It was intended to give developers some FS access as a temporary swap location only.
    #2  Do you assume that you'll be able to load a script that
    worked fine in UCCX 7 into UCCX 8 and that it should completely
    function when you're doing everything according to the step reference
    documentation.
    Assume nothing; read the documentation and attend one of the dozens of partner training sessions that CCBU put on advising of the upcoming changes.
    #3 Cisco didn’t document this in any way that I can find.
    You're right, I guess, on the Create File vs. XML Document step. AFAIK Cisco never wrote a notice into the Step Reference Guide explicitly stating that you cannot use the Create File Document although the documentation seemed pretty clear to me without it. File system restrictions are documented in the 8.0 release notes.
    Scripting and Development Series: Volume 2, Editor Step ReferenceUse the Create XML Document step to create a logical document that maps a document to another document variable (where the document has already been pre-parsed as an XML document and is ready to be accessed by the Get XML Document Data step).Use this step before the Get XML Document Data step to obtain data from a document formatted using the Extensible Markup Language (XML).
    #4 How can you use the Create XML Document step in a fashion that would
    let you construct the path of the file and the filename previously in
    the script so you could pass it to a subflow ?  It would seem this functionality has been killed in UCCX 8
    No it hasn't; just concatinate a string to build the Source Document parameter the step needs. Example:  "DOC[" + myFilePath + "]"

  • Append XML elements with same name in an XML document

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle9i XMLDB utilities to modify an XML document stored in the database. I have a sample XML document like this in the database:
    <Person>
    <Address ID="1"> </Address>
    </Person>
    My task is to include a second <Address> element with a different attribute so that my XML document will become
    <Person>
    <Address ID="1"> </Address>
    <Address ID="2"> </Address>
    </Person>
    After creating the second element, I am using the function xmldom.appendChild() or xmldom.insertBefore() but they remove the first <Address> element and replace it with the second one. This is not what I want since I want both <Address> elements to be present.
    Could anyone please advise.
    Thanks.

  • Problem when trying to load an XML document with DTD or XML SCHEMA

    Hello
    I have tried to load an XML document in Data Services, and I created the xsd file and Dtd file. (With altova xml spy software automatically) to import into SAP Data Services 3.2. .
    In Data Services I created the dtd import file DTD and then called the XML file from the DTD (the xml file is validated vs the dtd file), and I could not read the xml correctly because it tells me that an ELEMENT called <item> expected joiners who did not come in the structure of import (dtd), but if the xml.
    I understand that the document root is the label: CUSTOMER_FULL_2014, the data flow is as follows:CARGA_XML_CUSTOMER |
    Turns out the joiners element is used to separate the xml elements are repeated, but is used at different levels. My idea is that the design will dtd second, or something I'm missing or is incorrectly stated.
    Thank you.

    I generated a new XSD file using MS Visual Studio based on your XML file.
    The empty spaces in the source is replaced with <Null> in the target table.

  • Please help to read the XML document with XMLTable

    Hi Gurus,
    I am not very familiar with XML parsing. It seems to me it should be very easy to get the data. For some reason, I am having a problem to get the data.
    SELECT *
    FROM util.hlsr_online_entries e,
    XMLTABLE(
      xmlnamespaces(
       'http://tempuri.org/'    as "dt",
       'urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xml-diffgram-v1' as "dg"),
      '/DataTable/dg:diffgram/DocumentElement/JrShowCustomerHeifers'
      PASSING XMLTYPE(e.entry_data)

      SeqNo  FOR ORDINALITY,
      DocumentID NUMBER  PATH 'DocumentID',
      ClubName VARCHAR2(100) PATH 'ClubName') as test
    WHERE e.ref_id = 33422
    The above query does not bring any data for me. My hunts is the problem with DocumentElement tab. I have been trying a different variation to handle.
    Please help me out to tune the query

    Hi odie_63,
    Good evening. I am not sure what you are suggesting. Please provide me the example how to solve the problem. I am very new to XML parsing.
    In the meantime, I am having another problem to get the data because .net developer changes the webservice format. To me it is supposed to work fine. May be my eyes are getting blurred so, I can't see where I am wrong.
    Thanks in advance. Please help me out.

  • Loading a XML-document into tables

    Hi,
    I have created a view for the tables below.
    Table Book with columns:
    - Book_ID
    - Book_Name
    - Ref_To_Price ( -> is a reference to Table Price (Price_ID))
    Table Price with columns:
    - Price_ID
    - Price_DM
    SQL-Syntax:
    "create view Bookprice as select Book_ID, Book_Name, Ref_To_Price, Price_ID, Price_DM from Book, Price where Ref_To_Price = Price_ID; "
    XML-Document:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?>
    <!DOCTYPE ANWENDUNGEN SYSTEM "file:/E:/book.dtd">
    <!-- ?xml-stylesheet href="book.xsl" type="text/xsl"? -->
    <ROOTDOC>
    <ROW>
    <BOOK_ID>66-77</BOOK_ID>
    <BOOK_NAME>JavaScript</BOOK_NAME>
    <REF_TO_PRICE>12</REF_TO_PRICE>
    <PRICE_ID>12</PRICE_ID>
    <PRICE_DM>25.50DM</PPRICE_DM>
    </ROW>
    </ROOTDOC>
    If I use the XML SQL Utility to insert the XML-Document, the following error message came up:
    " Exception in thread "main" oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01776: cannot modify more than one base table through a join view "
    Can anyone help me, please ?
    null

    Hi,
    This is a classic join view problem, where u cannot update two tables in one shot. The main problem is that ur two tables are not normalized correctly. Why can't they be in just one table?
    OK, if that is not possible, then the best way out is to create a simple INSTEAD OF trigger on the view which will insert correclty,
    e.g.
    CREATE TRIGGER bookprice_tr INSTEAD OF INSERT ON Bookprice FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
    insert into Book values (:NEW.Book_id,
    :NEW.Book_name, :NEW.Ref_to_Price);
    insert into Price
    values(:NEW.Price_ID, :NEW.Price_DM);
    END;
    Hope this helps,
    Murali
