Jpeg Images/Delay Help

I'm at a lost of the right approach to use.... All I want is
to have a flash on my website that I can load different jpeg
(images) in after a 3-5second delay. So when I show the first image
it waits for 3 seconds then loads the second image. Keeps going to
all images have been shown. Once the last image is shown it starts
all over. Can someone point me in the right direction, this is
driving me nuts..... All this needs to happen automatically with
out buttons etc.....

if you are willing for the users just to wait 3 seconds and
then load an image, you will find something at kiupa.com
->tutorials->slideshow. So basically you won`t have exactly 3
secs between images
if your files are so large/users connection is so slow that
you have to peload all images, i doubt anyone will be around long
enough to view your slideshow

  • Captivate Adding JPEG images! HELP!

    Good day all,
I am having an issue with Captivate, that I've never had
before. I've used Captivate now to develop interactive simulations
on three other projects, so I'm familiar with Captivate itself.
However, just recently I started developing more simulations for a
interactive tool that we use here at work. But on every simulation
that I have recorded so far, Captivate seems to be inserting1-5
JPEG images on the first slide. I can't delete these, and when I
do, it completly freezes Captivate. These images have slowed down
Captivate so much. I can't even access the "edit" tab. i have to
double click another slide, and then it finally takes me to the
edit tab. Does anybody have any idea as to the problem?? I can
probably get a screen shot of these so called images in the time
    area in Captivate itself.
Hoping somebody can help me out!

You didn't say what version you are running - that might be
    important. You did say:
    quote:
But on every simulation that I have recorded so far, Captivate
seems to be inserting1-5 JPEG images on the first slide. I can't
delete these, and when I do, it completly freezes Captivate
Let me restate the issue in beta-style steps, to see
if I have it "right", okay?
    1) You are recording in one of the simulation modes ...
    2) After pressing the END key to stop recording, you are
    returned to Captivate where ...
    3) Your new recording is waiting in storyboard view...
    4) You cannot access slide #1 in Edit view, so you open any
    other slide ...
    5) And work your way back to slide #1 from there ...
    6) To find that on slide #1 timeline, there are from 1 to 5
    JPEG images ...
. . . .(that have nothing to do with the application you
    recorded?) . . . .
    7) And apparently not just any JPEG images but images
so large they actually burn all resources on your computer,
    causing Captivate to freeze.
Please let me know if I'm restating your problem correctly
(above). I am nearly positive that I have
not understood you. But if that's the case, perhaps you
could restate the problem in the "step" format I've used here, so
that we can understand and try to resolve the issue. Thanks very
    much!

  • Help with managing RAW and jpeg images and installing iphoto 9

Greetings: Fist, let me make the neophyte apology and plea - I'm sorry, I should have come here first; I didn't and now I need your help.
I have just purchased a macbook pro (still in its box) with updated software for my older imac os x. I have a number of Canon related photo editing programs (that came with my 40D digital SLR) and Adobe photo elements 6 for mac on the imac. Following some erroneous advice I have made a complete mess of the pictures folder's content by trying to delete images directly from that folder (there are now 6000+ images in the folder, many of which are duplicates(?). Most of the images are not tagged or labeled and some have been organized in/by iphoto (I corrupted the iphoto's library structure very early on by disrupting and editing its images - which might explain why iphoto had a difficult time 'finding' and displaying some of my photos). The picture folder now holds jpegs, smallRAW images (a Canon 40D photo format) and various duplicates of the orignal images - (some of the duplicates don't display as images, but as jpeg logos, which, when opened contain duplicate image or are completely black) The first time I downloaded RAW images into iphoto 6 the RAW data displayed as a black image. When shooting in smallRAW on the Canon 40D, the camera produces a jpeg image for 'easy viewing and editing in the camera' but it looks as though iphoto 6 made duplicates of the jpeg and the RAW data and stored them in different locals in the picture file. In an attempt to get the number of images down, I have been trying to delete them from the picture folder. (My daughters both download images rather indiscriminately in hopes of 'editing them on the computer' which inevitably does not happen) and there is a lot of experimental bracketing of images - shooting raw and different Camera formats etc., all of which need to be cleaned up before I proceed.
Sometime in the not-too-distant future I would like to have iphoto 9 running on my imac with a clean library of images and a seamless way of downloading, editing and storing images (including the RAW data).
The macbook pro is for my highschool-aged daughter, who will run iphoto 9 but not have any RAW image data on her system. She would like to copy some of the old iMac's images to put into her own iPhoto 9 library (probably using a disk, email or on-line photo service - ideally, I would like to be able to copy and remove a number of those images from my HD and give them to her for the macbook)
A few questions and queries: Can I 'dis-able' iphoto 6, while I delete images (RAW and jpeg) from the picture file? (and is this even a good idea).
Once I have edited the # of images down to a reasonable size, should I re-launch iphoto 6, rebuild the iphoto library and then update to iphoto 9 or skip v6 and rebuild with v9?
And now for the 'how stupid is this guy question' - I really had planned to purchase an external backup; but between new the macbook, car repairs and braces it has never come to fruition. So, I have never properly backed up my images. What is the bare-bones, least expensive method for me to do this? I'd even consider burning everything to disks if that works. I can't afford the $ to purchase a new external hard drive right now (really). Budget is set aside mid-November for one though.
I've been looking through some other discussion boards and it looks like I'm not the only one having RAW image issues. I know that shooting smallRAW with the companion jpeg is probably not helping things but I take my camera equipment on extended canoe trips - and we like the ease of on-the-spot editing with this format.
Thanks in advance for your help - Mark

Terence, Is the picture folder the primary source for the images or does that data reside somewhere else?
If you gathered them there, then yes.
I really don't want to have to go through 14,000 images looking for the pictures that I want to keep (or is that my only option?).
Only you can decide what you want to keep.
Why does the computer keep making copies of the images and filing them under date and events?
That's how iPhoto works. It's not a problem usually, only you did go in there and make a problem, and now we are trying to fix it.
You advise not to muck around in the picture file via preview,
No I don't. I advise not to much around in the iPhoto Library Folder.
but if I download images through a program other than iPhotos - image capture or adobe aren't I doing that anyway?
Adobe what? Adobe is a software manufacturer who make many excellent applications, you need to be more precise. And no, if you import photos with Image Capture or “adobe” no you are not interfering with the iPhoto Library Folder.
Can you edit a base image file somewhere and remove it from the HD without iphoto making a copy of it and storing it somewhere else?
This is stunningly easy. Don't use iPhoto. Use an image editor.
I want to look the negatives, decide which ones I want and throw the rest away. Can that be done or am I way off course?
Yes, and iPhoto (or similar apps) make this really easy.
Hook up your camera. Import the pics to iPhoto. Go through the imported pics. Trash the ones you don't want. Then process the ones you do. But you must learn how to use iPhoto to do this successfully
To trash: put the pic in the iPhoto trash and empty it. This removes the file from iPhoto and the Hard Disk.
Process it: If you want to use another editor: You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • HELP - CONVERTING A JPEG IMAGE INTO A LINE DRAWING

    PLEEEASE HELP ME!!!
sorry to be thick - im only a beginner   ---   is there any way to covert a jpeg image into like a line drawing where there is a block colour background and solid lines that make up the picture like you sometimes get in brochures - somthing different to just the effects that are availible in the filter gallery...
    thanks
    LUK

As far as I recall there's no magic/easy "convert to vector drawing" functionality in Photoshop, though there are some things you can do to help smooth rough edges (e.g., Filter - Noise - Median).  There are also some things you can do, if you want to get fancy, based on converting selections to paths, but that can get kind of involved and likely requires manual path editing afterward.
I have heard there are some pretty decent vector conversion functions in other Adobe apps...  Adobe Illustrator, perhaps?  Someone who uses Illustrator may want to chime in here; I don't have that package.

  • JPEG images burned to DVD are viewed fine on my Macbook Pro, but my clients PC says the disk is blank.  Have tried several times now with same result.  Please help.

The JPEG images I have edited on my Macbook Pro and then burned to DVD view fine on my computer.  But when I give the same disk to my client with a PC (Windows Vista), his computer says the disk is blank.  I have tried several times, first I burned the entire folder to the DVD, then tried burning just the images (not in a folder), and I also tried renaming the disk (shorter name, six letters), but always with the same result.  His PC says the disk is blank and needs to be formated.
    Please help,

I used "finder" to select the files and move them to the mounted blank DVD then selected "Burn to DVD" it then asks you to name it, and says "this disk can be used on any mac or windows based computer" or something to that effect, and I click "Burn" and it burns and verifies the contents.  But it hasn't worked so far.
I will try again the way you suggest (fingers crossed).
The problem is likely on the client's computer.
Some computers can't read certain brands of disks, same thing occurs on Mac's.
If you work with this client often you can find out which brand of disk works best with yours and their computers.

Please tell how to store jpeg images in SQL Server using NI Database Connectivity Toolset.

    http://www.w3schools.com/sql/sql_datatypes.asp
You setup a field as BLOB and store the binary of the picture there. Depending on the database it can be called differently as you can see in the link, in SQL server there's even a Image datatype.

exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,

    what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
    etc.,

  • Converting a pdf document to a jpeg image C#

    HI There,
How can I convert a pdf document to a jpeg image using c sharp? I need to do this on a web application. If someone can help me out with some code that would be great.
    Sean - thanks in advance

The information provided by Aandi is unfortunately out of date. The Adobe PDF Library is obtained through Datalogics and has a JNI, Java, and .NET interface available. Additionally while the Adobe PDF Library with the .NET interface would provide the functionality you seek it is overkill.
PDF2IMG from Datalogics has a COM component available that can be accessed via C# to convert PDF to most image formats.

  • Error when exporting to pdf - cannot read a jpeg image, but I do not know which jpeg image.

I have created a document (A5) in Indesign cs6 with 116 pages. Because I would like to print the book I want to export it to pdf. Normally this is no problem for me, but now I got the following error: "Error encountered while reading JPEG image. Image may be damaged or incompatible. Resave the image with different settings and try again." This is quite annoying as my book contains 631 links of which most are .jpg. Does anyone know how I can find out which picture gives the error?
What is remarkable is the following. As it is a very large file InDesign automatically splitted it in subsections (with names like 'A5 V' or 'A5 V3'). To get closer to the problem I tried to export each subsection (all between 3 and 30 pages) to pdf. But somehow I managed to do this, so one might think that there is nothing wrong with the document at all. But when I try to expor the document as a whole again I still get this error about the JPEG image. It takes a couple of minutes (somewhere between 30 and 40% of the exporting) before I get the error.
Is there anything I should have tried which I forgot? I hope anyone can help me with this problem.

If you are able to export as sections it's almost certainly not actually a problem with the image, but a problem of not enough system resources to finish the job. This is not uncommon with large complex PDF exports.
Try rebooting, then immediately open ID and try the export again first thing. If it works, great. If  not, you can combine your sections into a single PDF in Acrobat Pro.

  • Firefox 3.6.8 causing all JPEG images to be compressed like AOL 9.0

    System Setup:
    Windows 7 Home Premium x64
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT (newest drivers installed)
Aero is running, switched it off to troubleshoot. Problem persisted.
    Steps to Create the Problem:
    1.) Updated to 3.6.8 from 3.5.11.
2.) Loaded up my website: http://www.columbuswebseo.com
3.) I noticed that the background image looks compressed (where it has a gradient around the blurred light specks in top right corner) . Like a highly compressed JPEG image from AOL days (to speed up page load times).
4.) Messed with all FireFox, Windows 7, NVIDIA, physical Dell LCD monitor color settings. Even did research on my RoadRunner connection to see if they implemented an accelerator of some sort. Disabled Add-ons one by one re-testing the issue along the way. Problem persisted.

It's not your graphics card. It's not your OS. It's not your browser.
It's your internet. I had a broadband card, and I figured out that my ISP (Internet Service Provider) was actually downgrading my image quality to make my internet faster. It's called Network Optimization. Look in the options menu of your broadband connection application (Like if you have T-Mobile or whatever, look in the part the application that connects you to the internet) and see if you can change your Optimization Settings. This should clear things up for you.
Also, if your internet is really that slow, like mine was, I would suggest getting another provider. It's the best option. Hope that helps. :)

  • Is there a way to overlay a soundcloud music player widget (flash or HTML5) ON TOP of a jpeg image?

I am designing my first webpage for a new site. It is very basic in function, where I am going to be embedding a bunch of soundcloud.com players of my music to my website. This part is fairly easy. I currently have Adobe Dreamweaver CS6.
Since I have ZERO webdesign experience, going the easy route is best. It was suggested to me by someone to create what I wanted my webpage to look like in photoshop (which I have lots of experience in). Essentially, I have a single image with lots of visual information on it, where I can then add "hotspots" if needed. So, I created my design, where there are specific areas ON TOP of the jpeg image where I want to overlay the soundcloud player. I am able to adjust the size, and format (HTML5 or Flash) of the player itself at soundcloud. I then have the proper code that needs to be put where I want it on top of my image.
Is there a simple piece of code, or a way in Dreamweaver to accomplish this in an easy way?
    Thanks in advance!

Here is the widget code for HTML5 for the first one:
    <iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F63420632&c olor=c51c64&auto_play=false&show_artwork=false"></iframe>
    Flash if needed:
    <object height="81" width="100%"><param name="movie" value="https://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F63 420632&color=c51c64&auto_play=false&show_artwork=false&show_playcount=true&show_comments=t rue"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed allowscriptaccess="always" src="https://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F63 420632&color=c51c64&auto_play=false&show_artwork=false&show_playcount=true&show_comments=t rue" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="100%" height="81"></embed></object><span><a href="http://soundcloud.com/groovefunkel/the-human-league-vs-elo-vs">The Human League vs. ELO vs. Lady Gaga - Don't You Want Me Evil This Way</a> by <a href="http://soundcloud.com/groovefunkel">groovefunkel</a></span>
    Second one: (HTML5)
    <iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F57922474&c olor=c51c64&auto_play=false&show_artwork=false"></iframe>
    Flash:
    <object height="81" width="100%"><param name="movie" value="https://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F57 922474&color=c51c64&auto_play=false&show_artwork=false&show_playcount=true&show_comments=t rue"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed allowscriptaccess="always" src="https://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F57 922474&color=c51c64&auto_play=false&show_artwork=false&show_playcount=true&show_comments=t rue" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="100%" height="81"></embed></object><span><a href="http://soundcloud.com/groovefunkel/adele-vs-hall-and-oates-1">Adele vs. Hall and Oates - Maneater Won't Go</a> by <a href="http://soundcloud.com/groovefunkel">groovefunkel</a></span>
And finally, here is a link to the jpeg image:
http://www.mediafire.com/view/?z2bngmtiikmi9k9  (only 2mb files were permitted to be uploaded here directly)
You can probably see where I want the player to overlay...below the text and to the right of the artwork.  I will have the image centered on the screen.
    I greatly appreciate your help!
    Thanks again,
    David

  • How can I load a CMYK jpeg image

How can I load a CMYK jpeg image (originally saved from Photoshop) and then
turn it into an rgb BufferedImage, in order to display it on screen in an
    applet?
I first tried ImageIO.read(), but that does not work for cmyk jpegs. I then
looked into the com.sun.image.codec.jpeg package, and tried methods like
    decodeAsBufferedImage() and decodeAsRaster().
The first one (decodeAsBufferedImage) returned an image, but it seems that
it was interpreted as an ARGB, and the colors were incorrect.
I then read the documentation which (amongst many other things) stated that
"If the user needs better control over conversion, the user must request the
data as a Raster and handle the conversion of the image data themselves."
This made sense, so I took to decodeAsRaster(), only to find that I could
not figure out how to carry out the desired conversion.
Of course, I have looked into the documentation for BufferedImage, Raster,
ColorModel, ColorSpace etc, but after a while I was lost. (Before I got lost
I read that you can convert images with the help of methods like toRGB,
    toCIEXYZ.)
I have a feeling that this is probably pretty simple if you just know how to
do it, but I sure would need some directions here.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can either use the "Place" command from the main menu, under "File", or you can just open it, select the move tool "V", the click in the image and drag it to the other file's tab.
