JS CS3: Is a property read only? How to find out...

Hello all,
I found out about the x.reflect.properties object and find it very helpful in my current project.
Now I know how to find out about the properties of a dynamically given object :)
But here's the rub: is there any better way to find out if I can actually change one of those properties (i.e. whether it is not "read-only") other than just to try {} catch(){} it?
Thank you
Gerald

From the JS Tools Guide
ReflectionInfo.type (String)
The type of the reflected element. One of:
readonly: A Read only property.
readwrite: A read-write property.
createonly: A property that is valid only during creation of an
object.
method: A method.

    Install software such as Paragon NTFS, or reformat it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or FAT32. Mac OS X 10.6.5 and newer can also read and write exFAT partitions.

    Why is URLResource url property read-only?

    We didn't have a reason to make it writeable.  Typically it's set in the constructor and never needs to change.  Do you have a case where you want to change it and creating a new URLResource isn't possible?

  • How to find out the save as setting information in illustrator cs3?

    How to find out the save as setting information in illustrator cs3 through programmatically. I saved the file using the setting like Overprint, EmbedAllFonts, IncludeDocumentThumbnails throgh scripting. But i don't know how to find out the save as setting information(Overprint, EmbedAllFonts, IncludeDocumentThumbnails) whether the checkbox true or not through scripting. Kindly advice me.

    Thanks for your response. Some time the operator will set the wrong "save as setting" in the eps file . So i need to check wheather the operator set the correct save as setting or not. If the operator set the wrong save as setting,  i need to inform while running the script. So please advice me how to find out the save as setting information of the active document file, and then inform to the operator if any improper "save as setting" occured.

  • How to find out which C library I am using?

    On my Solaris 9 UltraSparc system,
    % echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    /opt/gcc/3.4.4/lib:/opt/glib/2.12.1/lib:/opt/gnome/lib:/opt/openssl/0.9.7g/lib
    % /usr/lib/libc.so
    usage: ld.so.1 [-e option,...] dynamic-object [object args,...]
    On my Solaris 10 x86 system,
    % echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    /pkg/gcc/4.2.1/lib:/opt/gcc/current/lib:/opt/glib/2.10.1/lib:/usr/sfw/lib:/usr/lib/mps:/opt/openldap/lib:/opt/openssl/current/lib
    % /usr/lib/libc.so
    usage: ld.so.1 [-e option,...] dynamic-object [object args,...]
    On my Linux/x86 system,
    % echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    /opt/openssl/0.9.7g/lib:/opt/gcc/3.4.4/lib:/opt/binutils2.13/lib:/opt/glib/2.12.1/lib:/opt/java/j2sdk1.4.1_01/lib
    % /lib/libc.so.6
    GNU C Library stable release version 2.6.1, by Roland McGrath et al.
    From the above, can one tell what C library I am linking to on the Solaris systems? If not, how can one tell? How do I know the exact location of the C library I am using?
    On the Linux/x86 system, I can use gnu_get_libc_version() to find out the version of glibc I am supposedly using. But it does not work when I compiled the identical C program using gcc on the Solaris 9/UltraSparc and Solaris 10/x86 systems. If I can use gnu_get_libc_version() , does that mean for sure that my C program links to glibc? On the other hand, if the linker reports that gnu_get_libc_version() is not found, does that mean for sure that my C program is not linked to glibc?
    Is there a function on the Sun libc similiar to gnu_get_libc_version()?
    http://docs.sun.com/source/819-3690/Using.Libs.html says "The Solaris operating system comes with several libraries installed in /usr/lib. Most of these libraries have a C interface. Of these, the libc and libm, libraries are linked by the CC driver by default." If one wants to link to the glibc library, how to override the default? How to find out the default? Is it in some environ variable? If one changes the CC driver to gcc, does the default remain the Sun libc? And if one compiles explictly using gcc, i.e. "gcc myprog.c", is the default C library the Sun Library, or glibc?
    gnu.org has a (web page for the) glibc manual but I am not able to find a Sun C Library Manual. Is there one?

    I'll discuss only the Sun C compiler here. For questions about gcc, look in the gcc manual, or try a gcc forum.
    Run the command "ldd" on an executable file or shared library, and it will report the shared libraries that it will link to, based on any runpath in the file, and on LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Example: % echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH: Undefined variable
    % cc hello.c
    % ldd a.out
            libc.so.1 =>     /lib/libc.so.1
            libm.so.2 =>     /lib/libm.so.2
            /platform/SUNW,A70/lib/libc_psr.so.1 BTW, except possibly for testing, there is usually no need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and setting it is usually a bad idea. For more on this topic see Rod Evans' blog:
    [http://blogs.sun.com/rie/entry/tt_ld_library_path_tt]
    Prefer to set a runpath in the executable so that no client needs to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
    If you want to know what libraries the C compiler will link, based on a given command line, you can add the -v (verbose) option, which will display each subcommand. Or you can use the -### option, which shows what commands would be run. Example: % cc -### hello.c
    ### Note: NLSPATH = \
    /opt/SUNWspro/prod/bin/../lib/locale/%L/LC_MESSAGES/%N.cat:/opt/SUNWspro/prod/bin/../../lib/locale/%L/LC_MESSAGES/%N.cat
    ###     command line files and options (expanded):

    -Qy -lc /opt/SUNWspro/prod/lib/crtn.oThe basic runtime support library is /lib/libc.so.1, on any version of Solaris, used by every compiler version. You can check the patch version of the library by running
    showrev -p | grep <patch>
    where <patch> is the patch number for the library. The patch number depends on the Solaris version. You can get more information at [http://sunsolve.sun.com].
    There is no manual specifically for the C library. There is a Solaris man page for each function in the library, and you can check the C Users Guide and the Solaris Linker and Libraries Guide for additional information.

  • How to find out which keywords were used to create a smart album?

    Raphael,
    that message may occur for four reasons at least:
    Most frequently, when you are using an outdated link to a post that no longer exists, for example from an email notofication. Sometimes our community host will remove posts, that are in violation of the terms of use: see:
    Apple Support Communities Terms of Use
    Or you are using the edit button or a bookmark to an "Edit" window, after the fifteen minutes allowed for editing are up.
    Or you want to view a page in a restricted section of the ASC - soem perta are only open for members of level 6 or higher.
    Or it is one  of the unexplained problems with the forum software right now.

    I really like Kirby's suggestion with the IPTC rule Keyword is. This is very useful for smart albums global to the library.
    Frequently a different approach helps for my smart albums. Many of my smart albums are local to projects or folders.  In this case the smart HUD will only show those keywords that have been used for the images in the selection. So if I only have tagged the images with the keywords "birds" and "slideshow", the smart settings HUD will only show these two keywords and the list is very short.
    My Keywords HUD, is organized hierarchically; this way I can collapse large sections at once, and it is easier to focus on the keywords needed for a specific task.
    I use the search field in HUD a lot, to filter the set of keywords shown.

  • How to find out which jobs are connected to the user

    Hello, i have a question, but i was unable to find the answer. The problem is that our internal consultant left the company, and there are certain jobs that run under his account. We want now to switch this jobs to other accounts. The problem we are facing is how to find out what jobs, or job steps are connected with his account, so we can safely demote his account, so that no other jobs will be run under his account. Thank you very much
    Sincerely,
    Luka Prijic

    the only reliable way to do this is by scanning table TBTCP using the person's userID in field AUTHCKNAM and filtering by job statuses: scheduled, released, ready and active (sorry I can't remember the code#'s off top of my head, something like P=scheduled, S=scheduled...you have to look it up).   When you search SM37 it only permits you to scan by the userID who created the job, but it won't tell you if a different userID is defined in a job step.  That's why you need to scan TBTCP.  Don't forget that you should also check for a user's open Workflow items before deletion.
    I noticed some posts in this forum that suggest a userID should never be deleted, only locked, added to a special user group, and all role assignments removed.  However I've never worked somewhere that does this.

  • How to find out that the card in a given NIDAQ slot is a DSA card?

    In the description of DAQ_Op(...) function in the traditional NIDAQ function reference one reads:
    "buffer" is an integer array. "buffer" has a length equal to or greater than count.
    When DAQ_Op returns with an error number equal to zero, buffer contains the acquired data.
    For DSA devices, buffer should be an array of i32. These devices return the data
    in a 32-bit format in which the data bits are in the most significant bits.
    Question 1: How to find out programmatically that the card in a given NIDAQ slot is a DSA card?
    Question 2: How many MSB carry the information? How do I find out bit-ness of the card (programmatically)?
    The obvious solution to create and keep updated the table/fil
    e with the data for all existing DAQ cards is unacceptable. This could be maintained by NI itself, but not by 3rd party developpers, like me.

    Bryan, thanks for your answer.
    I hope that my NIDAQ-wish-list will not only reach NIDAQ developers but some of it will be implemented in the next versions of NIDAQ.
    I should say that I am quite pessimistic because I was sending similar requests via German support few YEARS ago and I am still even do not know whether they reached developers or not. Even if yes, the present NIDAQ still does not have these functions and this means that NI takes 2..4 years to react on the feedback.
    At the moment I have no choice, and I do maintain self-made info file (nidaq.ini). But beleive me, it is a pain in the @ss to scan help files and manuals of the DAQ cards which I've never seen just to include info in nidaq.ini. And when my customers of a brand new NIDAQ ca
    rd call and wonder why the card is not reacognized by my application correctly, I tell to them that this is basically fault of NI. Because NI provides no way to get card info. I am doing my best analysing error codes, but it does not help in all cases. Sorry, guys, but you left no choice to me.
    As for NIDAQmx, this is not a solution either. I am not going to rewrite my existing and working rather big application. It could be a good suggestion for those who just starts developing a new applications from the scratch, but not for those who almost finished it. Even for those who begin now, NIDAQmx may not be a good choice, because, as I saw in this forum, it does not support all cards that are supported by NIDAQ. It also looks like that instead of improoving, developing and fixing NIDAQ, NI dicided to change API completely. It is not yet clear to me whether NIDAQmx is supposed to substitute NIDAQ in the future or not. If not, I would concentrate on improoving trad. NIDAQ. If yes, it wou
    ld be a disaster for many developers. :-(
    Anyway, I hope that the interaction between NIDAQ team and application developpers will be improoved, and we will see some results of this feedback.

    i think u have missed it.
    RSZCOMPDIR IS THE ONLY TABLE WHICH PROVIDES THE DATA.
    ENTER TECHNICAL QUERY Name in RSZCOMPDIR-COMPID.
    RSZCOMPDIR-TSTNAM gives you the user id of sap bw user who made the change.
    RSZCOMPDIR-TSTPDAT gives you date on which  change was made .
    RSZCOMPDIR-TSTPTIM   gives you timestamp on which  change was made .
    all users details can be obtained from TCODE SU01 where you need to enter sap user id.
    You can also get user name( description) by using tcode SE09 and entering above sap user id.

  • How to find out names of reports using a particular view

    hi guys,
    i am newbie here, i jsut want to know how to find out which reports are using a particular view
    many thanks in advance for your help

    If you go to the Properties for the Folder in Discoverer Administrator, there is a Dependents tab that should list any workbooks using the folder. This only works for workbooks saved to the database, so won't help with any created using Discoverer Desktop. If you are gathering statistics and have the The Discoverer V5 EUL business area and its workbooks installed, it can tell you about Folders Used as well. It contains information about queries run whether the workbook is saved to the database or to the file system, but wouldn't contain inforamation about workbooks that had been created but not run.

  • How to find out prerequisites of archiving objects?

    As we plan an archiving project for our ERP system, I would like to know how to find out the prerequisites for archiving the different objects.
    For example, as I know for archiving material master data, the usage of object MM_MATNR requires that the deletion flag is set on materials.
    Or as I assume, orders probably can only be archived if they are delivered and closed.
    How to find out these prerequisites?
    Best regards
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
    Network Graphics helps in determining the dependencies among the archiving objects.Once you have sorted out the flow you can schedule archiving in test mode to find more details.
    Eg PP_ORDER you can find out why a particular order is not archivable...may be cos of unsettled balance..etc.
    You can find few details about the prerequisites in the archiving run (test)
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Priya.

  • How to find out the "manufacture date"?

    Hello!
    Can you tell me how to find out the manufacture date of my Satellite A110-334 with the serial "SY6224123K"?
    I need this information for my insurance!
    I found only this link for HDD`s: http://www.storage.toshiba.eu/index_manual.php?pid=220&sid=536&la=en
    But there is no "S" on the first digit!??
    So it is maybe "Y6" which can be November 2006! Is this right?
    Thank you!
    ===========
    This is the information on the link above:
    How to encode a Toshiba Hard Disk Drive Serial Number?
    The Toshiba serial number (S/N) includes details of the date of manufacture. The first digit of the serial number indicates the Month of manufacture and the 2nd digit indicates the Year.
    Example:
    M Y x x x x x x x
    M = Month
    Y = Year
    The month digit goes from 1, for January, through to 9, for September, and then X, Y and Z, for October, November and December.
    Examples:
    2 8 1 7 0 0 0 1 A
    2 = February
    8 = 1998
    3 0 5 4 4 3 0 6 T
    3 = March
    0 = 2000
    X 9 D 7 8 3 3 1 T
    X = October
    9 = 1999
    The remaining digits contain information about factory and production line, and some digits are reserved for a continuously running serial number.
