JSF Hello World trivial problem

Hi,
I followed http://otn.oracle.com/oramag/oracle/04-jul/o44dev_ojdev.html "Developing faces" article and can't quite get the simpliest JSF app to work.
I keep getting a 404 error when requesting index.jsp, which simply redirects to /faces/HelloFaces.jsp
My web.xml looks OK (see below). In fact, I double-checked all the instuctions in the article.
Another problem I saw is that, when I tried "Importing sample JSF apps" the article mentions jsf-cardemo.war which is cannot find in my jdev1013 directory.
Thanks, regards,
Pawel

Ok I answered my own question. New Dreamweaver extensions are
available for download. That fixed it up.

    Welcome to the forum.
    As others have said, there is no way to read Aperture 3 Projects or Libraries in Aperture 2. If you want to carry on using the same files on both computers you will have to stay with Aperture 2, or replace the tower with an Intel-based one that will run new software.
    As much as we might dislike it, PPC-based Macs are getting left behind in terms of what software they will run.

    I managed to deploy it and i've wrote the client, but it simply won't run :-(
    Here is my code:

  • Problem with JNI hello world

    I found some tutorial on SUN site on how to use JNI. I'm using Eclipse to compije Java and C (via Cygwin) files. Here are complete files:
    Hello.java:
    class Hello
         public native void sayHello();
         static
              try
              System.loadLibrary("hello");
              catch(Exception e)
                   System.out.println("exc");
         public static void main(String[] args)
              Hello h = new Hello();
              h.sayHello ();
    }Hello.c:
    #include <mingw/_mingw.h> //because there are some types needed for JNI
    #include <jni.h>
    #include "Hello.h"
    #include <stdio.h>
    JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_Hello_sayHello
      (JNIEnv *env, jobject obj)
         printf("Hello world!\n");
         return;
    }Makefile:
    hello.dll : Hello.o Hello.def
         gcc -g -shared -Wl,--kill-at -o hello.dll Hello.o hello.def
    Hello.o : Hello.c Hello.h
         gcc -c -g -I"$(JAVA_HOME)\include" -I"$(JAVA_HOME)\include\win32" Hello.c -o Hello.o
    Hello.h : Hello.class
         javah -jni Hello
    clean :
         rm Hello.h
         rm Hello.o
         rm hello.dllHello.def
    EXPORTS
    Java_Hello_sayHelloEverything goes well, but when I run java program it does nothin (it should print message, but it just exit without any error).I'm sure that it's something stupid, but I cant see what. Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong?
    Thenks.

    Answer 1: yes, there was no problem. I compiled and started simple 'hello world' program from Cygwin and from WinXP console, and it worked well.
    Answer 2: This is weird, I changed code to this:
    Hello.java:
         public native int getInt();
              System.out.println("Returned int is " + h.getInt());Hello.c:
    JNIEXPORT jint JNICALL Java_Hello_getInt
      (JNIEnv *env, jobject obj)
         return 25;
    }It does not print anything. I started this program from Cygwin and from WinXP console, and from Eclipse. Only if I debug in Eclipse (step by step) I get:
    Returned int is 25and still I don't get Hello string printed (even if I go step by step). It looks like cygwin has some problem with OS. Do you have any idea what to do, I'm a bit confused?
    Thank you.

  • Problem including jdk.dio into Hello World Example

    Hi
    I followed the Hello World Example and this worked on my raspberry pi. Then I tried to use jdk.dio to access some hardware via GPIO unfortunately then the build of the Deployment Package fails with :
    # 2/7/15 4:35:16 PM CET
    # Eclipse Compiler for Java(TM) v20140902-0626, 3.10.0, Copyright IBM Corp 2000, 2013. All rights reserved.

    The import jdk.dio cannot be resolved
    2. ERROR in .../HelloOsgi.java (at line 10)
    import jdk.dio.Device;
    ^^^^^^^
    The import jdk.dio cannot be resolved
    It builds without an error inside of eclipse. I added the dependencies to the manifest
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Import-Package: jdk.dio;version="1.0.0",
    jdk.dio.gpio;version="1.0.0",
    jdk.dio.spibus;version="1.0.0",
    org.osgi.service.component;version="1.2.0",
    org.slf4j;version="1.6.4"
    Service-Component: OSGI-INF/component.xml
    and to the build.properties
    output.. = bin/
    bin.includes = META-INF/,\
    OSGI-INF/
    source.. = src/
    additional.bundles = org.eclipse.osgi.services,\
    slf4j.api,\
    org.eclipse.kura.api,\
    jdk.dio
    What did I miss to do, so that the 'jdk.dio' can be resolved when building Deployment Package?
    Thanks and Regards
    - Franz
    (*)eclipse.github.io/kura/doc/hello-example.html

    I downloaded the "Developer's Workspace (with Web UI) " (user_workspace_archive_1.1.0.zip) from Kura 1.1.1 Extended Downloads (eclipse.org/kura/downloads.php) and imported this into my Eclipse workspace on my development machine. I checked the ZIP file it contains the jdk.dio_1.0.0.jar as stated in my Manifest and not 1.0.1 as you mentioned.
    I also checked on the target (raspberry pi) where I installed the "Raspbian (No, Net, with Web UI) - Stable" from Kura 1.1.1 Extended Downloads. Also here it is jdk.dio_1.0.0.jar under /opt/eclipse/kura/plugins.
    I don't think its a Version problem since Eclipse can build the code and finds all the dependencies. It is just when I try to export a 'Deployable plug-ins and fragments' or try to create the Deployment Package that the build fails.
    I found a workaround for the 'Deployable plug-ins and fragments' there I have to check the option 'Use class files compiled in the workspace' and the I can export it since the export does not need to build it just uses the already built classes from eclipse. I did not find such an option for the creation of the Deployment Package.
    Anyway I would like to be able to build without an IDE.
    What is the suggested approach to build a Deployment Package for Kura without the IDE so it could be integrated in some kind of a CI process?
    Is maven/tycho the way to go?
    Any help or hint is appreciated.
    Thanks Regards
    - Franz

  • Anybody can suggest quick sample 'Hello World' with ADF/JSF to deploy on WC

    We are using JDeveloper 11g, and Web Center 10.1.3.2.
    We have Oracle Portals 10.1.2.0.2
    We want to develop a portlet and deploy it to WC 10.1.3.2 to use it in Portals 10.1.2.0.2.
    Could anybody suggest any working "Hello World' sample with ADF/JSF to deploy on WC 10.1.3.2 WSRP.
    TIA

    Just to clarify. Oracle Portal 10.12.0.2 did not support WSRP based portlets (this was introduced in 10.1.4 or Portal) as such you would need to develop a JPDK based portlet in order to use it in both Portal 10.1.2.0.2 and WebCenter. If you upgrade the portal to 10.1.4 you will be able to use a WSRP 1.0 based portlet in both products (WebCenter also supports the draft WSRP2.0 extensions so make sure that you register the correct WSDL file)
    If you are trying to use JSF components within the Portlet itself you will need to use the JSF Portlet Bridge which accounts for the differences in lifecycle between JSF and WSRP.

  • Problem with "Hello World"  program

    i am new to java.

    As stated in the [thread earlier today|http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5304111&tstart=0], you need to specify the classpath like this:
    java -cp . First(Note that there is a period between the -cp and First with spaces separating the period from the -cp and the First).

  • IPhone SDK 3.1: Problem compiling first Hello World App

    Hi,
    I am new to XCode, Mac OS and iPhone Development.
    I had already installed the earlier iPhone SDK (version prior to the latest 3.1) into my Mac OS 10.6. I was not able to run
    the hello world program through xCode as while opting for Build and Run, the simulator it was giving me an error saying that it cannot find the right SDK.
    I had assumed that the old SDK is not compatible with the new Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard). I had then uninstalled the old
    iPhone SDK using Terminal tool, using the command line given in the xCode uninstall guide.
    Installed the latest iPhone SDK (version 3.1), and then tried to compile the hello world app through xCode. Now I am getting the following error:
    *error: can't exec '/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.2' (No such file or directory*)
    I had located the above mentioned directory and could not find the file: "gcc-4.2" as mentioned in the error. Instead
    executable files like "i686-apple-darwin10-gcc-4.2.1" are present there.
    My Project Settings are:
    Project Format - xcode 3.2 -compatible
    Base SDK - iPhone Simulator 3.1
    Compiler Version - System Default (GCC 4.2)
    I am totally confused here, as I don't know how to correctly set up the ENV, as I thought the iPhone installer SDK does that automatically.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks in advance for your time,
    JC.

    I'm not sure this will be of any help to you -- I'm not sure if it's the answer you're looking for, since I don't really know enough on the subject. However, this may answer your question, or at least maybe help you find the answer for yourself, so it's worth a shot. Try going to Edit Project Settings in the Project menu, and once the Project Settings open, select the Build tab. Search through this and see if you find any preferences along the lines of what you are looking for. In particular I would try the sections toward the bottom about the GCC 4.0 compiler. Sorry if this was a waste of time, but I wanted to try...

  • Basic (and I mean basic) java problem with a simple hello world script

    I have a simple cut-and-paste html page and java class in my /home/jc158027/java directory.
    jc158027> cat HelloWorld.java
    import java.applet.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    public class HelloWorld extends Applet{
    Label helloLabel = new Label ("Hello World");
    public void init () {
      setBackground (Color.yellow);
      add (helloLabel);
    }Ok, so I javac HelloWorld.java and get HelloWorld.class, so far so good.
    Next I create my html page:
    jc158027> cat hw.html
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Jay's Java Test Page</TITLE>
    <BODY>
    <HR>
    This line of text comes before the applet.<P>
    <APPLET CODE = 'HelloWorld.class" WIDTH=500 Height=90>
    </APPLET>
    <P>
    This line of text comes after the applet.
    </BODY>
    </HTML>The result is that the text lines work, I get a nice grey box with no applet running. Looking at my console I get the following error:
    Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /home/jc158027/java/HelloWorld/class".class (No such file or directory)
    What I don't understand is the HelloWorld/class".class portion, shouldn't it be just either HelloWorld".class or HelloWorld/class, it is as though it is trying to look in a directory (class) that does not exist.
    What am I missing here?

    And if you put dots in where it expects a class name, it assumes those dots are to separate levels in a package name.
    So it was looking for a class named "class", which would be in a file called class.class, in a package named "HelloWorld". Packages correspond to directories relative to some classpath root, so it looked for the directory HelloWorld to be the parent of the classes in the HelloWorld package.

  • Problem with a simple hello world JSP

    We have just installed WLS Express 7.0 (just downloaded) on a Solaris 8 server. Using the dmwiz.sh, we have created a new domain with a managed server. Both the Admin Server and managed server have started and are running. When I tried to load a sample web application (a war file that has a hello world JSP), I got a HTTP 500 internal server error in serving the hello.jsp page. This sample works fine in Windows WLS Express 7.0.
    Can someone please help? Thank you in advance.

    It seems the installation of the server worked fine as you were able to start
    the servers.
    You may try posting this message to the weblogic.developer.interest.jsp newsgroup.
    If you are
    not using the latest service pack, please try using that.

  • How can I remove "Hello World!" from my browser menu bar

    I just noticed there'e something in my brower menu bar that has never been there before. Next to the other menu options (File, Edit, View, History, etc.) appears the words"Hello World!". I know it wasn't there two weeks ago, and it's highly unlikely I would have missed seeing it a few days ago when I last did extensive browsing. In hopes of fixing the problem myself, I deleted the only two FF add-ons installed to my PC in the past month. I also ran a system restore to a point created 35 days ago. But "Hello World!" still remained in the menu bar. When I try clicking it on, nothing happens. I tried removing it by pressing the "Customize"option in the toolbar, but it "Hello World!" would not drag down from the menu bar. I was still running FF version 22.0., and when I saw that an update to FF 23.0 was available, I ran the update, but this did nothing the fix my issue (I'm currently back to FF22.0, due to the System Restore that I ran earlier). Finally, I went to both my "Program Files" folders, and sorted them using "Date Modified", to identify any programs changed or added in the past several weeks. There were only a few programs changed in this timespan, so I scoured all files within those few folders, but nothing stood out as unusual. CAn anyone tell me what this "Hello World!" is or why it is appearing in my menu bar? Most importantly, would anyone know how I can remove it permanently ? Following Firefox's instructions, I've created a Print Screen photo showing my brower toolbars, including the menu bar ( at the very top just above my address bar), so that you can see where "Hello World!" appears. Not sure yet how to attach the PrtScn photo to this question I'm about to submit, so if it doesn't make it to the forum with my question, I can send it to anyone who emails me a reply.
    Thank You.

    THis is a reply to my own question, so that I can upload the Print Screen image of my browser toolbar. Look for "Hello World!" at the top, just above my address bar. Thanks again to anyone who can help me remove this from my menu bar.

    Can any one help!!
    Thanks,
    Sid..

    Sid,
    1) Check your using the correct version of Jdev with your instance.
    Metalink note 416708.1 - How to find the correct version of JDeveloper to use with eBusiness Suite 11i or Release 12
    Will give the mappings.
    And check the Jdev setting
    330236.1 - Configuring JDeveloper For Use With Oracle Applications 11i and R12
    2) Instead of using the tutorial, create a sample page, Am and run the page.
    Check what error you are getting.
    Thanks.
    With Regards,
    Kali.

    For a quick resolution please add the below -D parameter to Java Options under "Project Settings->Configurations->Development->Runner"
    -DCACHEMODE=DISTRIBUTED
    Next thing I want you to do is, check what version of "oracle.apps.jtf.cache.HTCacheProvider" class
    your jdeveloper has? It should be >= 115.33. If not then try after deleting all your class files (myclasses/myglobalclasses and other external classes - may be one of them might have older version of this class file).
