JSf's FileUpload Button

Hi, I am using JSF for my application development using Net Beans IDE and Visual Web pack when i am trying to use File Upload object at the runtime it is showing some warning like this
com.sun.rave.web.ui.renderer.UploadRenderer::decode()
com.sun.rave.web.ui.renderer.UploadRenderer::     Looking for id form1:fileUpload1_com.sun.rave.web.ui.upload
com.sun.rave.web.ui.renderer.UploadRenderer::     Found id form1:fileUpload1_com.sun.rave.web.ui.upload
what is this i don't unde stand. Can any body help me.
Thanks,
Rajesh.

I don't know exactly why i was telling as warnings means i have one checkBox group component in the same page for which i have selected auto submit on change option so as and when i select any of the check box it is not giving any error other than that on tomcat console and one more thing what is happening is i am not able to select more than one check box by saying this message the previously selected check box is getting deselected.
Thanks,
Rajesh.

  • JSF HTML Command Button: Prevent Page Reload

    I know that for ADF Faces Core Command Buttons, you can set partialSubmit to true to prevent the page from reloading. I need to do the same thing for a JSF HTML Command Button, but there is no such property. I really just want to change properties for the button when it is clicked using javascript. I don't want anything to submit at all. Is there something I could put for the action property to prevent this?
    thanks,
    tim

    Have you tried returning false from your Javascript? If it's a function, you need to make sure you return the function's result, as well.

    Oh, BTW--while I (and I'm sure many others on this forum) are happy to answer generic Java EE (as opposed to ADF or JDeveloper Tooling for J2EE) questions when we can, you'll probably get a better mix of JEE gurus on a JEE forum.

  • JSF Problem: Command Button

    Can you have a Command Button action event take you to a url?
    If you can how do you do this, for me it keeps taking me to some default file on my "C" drive (C:\rave\rave)

    <form action="form_action.asp"
    method="get">
    First name:
    <input type="text" name="fname" value="Mickey" />
    Last name:
    <input type="text" name="lname" value="Mouse" />
    <input type="submit" value="Submit" />
    </form>
    <p>
    If you click the "Submit" button, you will send your input to a new page called form_action.asp.
    </p>
    Above me is the equivalent to what I am trying to do (except in HTML). The input takes in the values from the text and sends you to another page. In this case it is .asp page, I am wanting to send the user to another .jsp page. In my last post I listed the Action Event which is tied to my Command Button. I tested this theory by trying to send the user to google.com, it did not work. Do you understand this?

  • JSF page, command buttons does nothing.

    Hi,
    I made a page with some panelform's. In one of those forms I placed a commandButton.
    I added a method in the backingbean that should be executed when the button is clicked. I added the method name as action attribute to the button.
    If I load the page and click the buttom nothing is happening. In the code I made is only a System.out.println();
    What could it be...?

    //button on the page:
                        <af:commandButton text="commandButton 1"
                                          binding="#{backing_upload.sendButton}"
                                          id="sendButton"
                                          textAndAccessKey="&Send to Oracle"
                                          disabled="#{backing_upload.processNotToOracle}"
                                          action="#{backing_upload.sendToOracle}"/>
    //backingbean:
        public String sendToOracle() {
            System.out.println("test");
            return null;
        }

  • Open jsf page in new tab

    Please, could someone explain me how I can open jsf page on button click in new browser tab? I use JDev 11g.

    Are you using go link or go button ?
    If Yes so then go link or go button has one property called target frame which has following value :
    _blank: The link opens the document in a new window.
    _parent: The link opens the document in the window of the parent. For example, if the link appeared in a dialog window, the resulting page would render in the parent window.
    _self: The link opens the document in the same page or region.
    _top: The link opens the document in a full window, replacing the entire page.
    Which will applicable in your case you can use .
    Thanks

    Is there bug in the component?
    Page Encoding is UTF-8
    Locale Encoding is Windows-1251

    If I have page without FileUpload component everything works ok.
    But when I place on page FileUpload component character encoding become corrupted.
    I have made test page.
    Place on page TextArea, FileUpload, button components.
    Enter into TextArea any text in locale encoding different from English. I have used Cyrilic Windows-1251
    Push the button and you will see text in text will be corrupted.
    Delete FileUpload component. Everything will be ok
    Does anybody deal with tis issue?

    I believe this is bug: 6453360. It has been fixed but only in Netbeans Visual Web Pack version. This fix has not been backported yet.

  • File Upload/Download Problem

    Hi,
    I have a fileupload button. The attributes type is XSTRING, which i bound it with "data" property of download.
    When i download this file with "download" element, it comes in a zip file and as XML files. Only the jpg files are downloaded correctly.
    How can i solve this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I am so sory for my very late answer.
    If you want to upload/download files, you should have a node which includes attributes
    (attribute names are just example ):
    1) filename(type: for example afilename),
    2)mimetype (type : string),
    3) file(type : a data element with type 'RAWSTRING').
    You must match your fileupload element's attributes with them:
    "DATA" attribute --> file ,
    "fileNAME" attribute--> filename,
    "mimeTYPE" attritube -->mimetype.
    When you want to download this file, you should put a filedownload element and match this element's attributes with the node's attributes which i described above.

  • How to change control in adf table

    Hi
    I am using jdev 11.1.2.1.0
    I have a view object which have one boolean type transient field and set the control type in UIHints tab to CheckBox.
    I create a jsf page and drop the iterator from data control (Created by that view object).
    On jsf page the control for transient field is check box and I want to convert it to radio button.
    Whenever I am converting this from property window radio button is not displaying on output window.
    Please solve the problem and help me out.
    Thanks

    Hi Sudipto Desmukh
    I am not using LOV for that transient field.
    I just add a transient field in view object.
    Let me explain more about my application that what I want to do.
    Actually I am creating a finance approval application
    I have 2 tables(header and detail)
    On jsf page I take paneltabbed layout which have two tabs one for header and other for detail.
    On first tab I drop header table to create adf table.
    There is on concept which I want to implement that is row locking.
    Means whenever user select any row of header in first tab and press on claim button the associated detail should be display in second tab.
    and that particular record should not be display to any other.
    To select a particular row in header I am using a transient attribute(Named select type boolean) in header view object.
    now I want to display this attribute on jsf as radio button so that user can select only one row to claim.
    i.e. if the value of radio button become true ,that particular row is ready to approve by that user.
    How should I do the same ?
    Please provide the help
    Thank you

  • Anything dragged from data control palette squeezes text out of jsp page

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4. When I drag-and-drop anything from the data control palette onto a jsp page, then any template text on the page will be gone in the Design tab of the page, only the component from the data control palette is visible. The template data is still there though, as can be seen in the Source tab. This makes the Design tab unusable if I want to edit the text on the page. If want to drag-and-drop another component from the palette, I am not able to drop it in desired place since the page text is not visible.
    If these are relevant: the page is a jsp page and the tab libraries used in the page before the drag-and-drop are:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f"%>Besides the text on the page, I also had a JSF HTML command button added to the page:
    <h:commandButton value="Quit"/>After the drag-and-drop the ADF tag libraries were added by JDeveloper, and the directives became:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces" prefix="af"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html" prefix="afh"%>Is there any incompatibility between the elements from the different tag librarries? How to fix this problem? Or anybody had the same problem before and solved it?
    Thanks!
    Newman

    Shay,
    Thank you for the advice. I was using jsp pages. But I also tried jspx and had the same problem. I wonder if it is a problem with the tag library or with the JDeveloper software. When I create a new jsp page, at the step where the available tag libraries can be shuttled from left to the right, sometimes on the right side there is only JSF HTML but hot JSF Core, but JSF core is not on the left side either. Yet if you click finish and check the source tab you would see both directives for the two libraries are in the page.
    When building the pages, all the tags are created by JDeveloper. I do not have the freedom to edit the code because I do not know the tags. If I knew how to directly edit the tags, I can forget about the Design tab. But at least for now I am dependent on the Design tab.
    There are many questions on my mind such as the difference between <form> and <h:form>? Is it OK to mix all these tags from the different tag libraries in one page? What is the difference between the JSF HTML CommandButton and the ADF FACES Core CommandButton, and which one should I used in what context? And many many other questions. Are there any Oracle documents that cover these topics and systematically explain and teach the use of these tags? I just found documents for 11g, one of which, by its title at least, looks like a book for such purpose. But it is for 11g.
    Many thanks for your guidance!

  • Property Inspector freezing jdeveloper

    I'm using Jdev 10.1.3.4.
    When I select a jsf component(command button) from the structure pane to load its properties into the Property Inspector pane, Jdev crashes.

  • Weblogic.utils.NestedRuntimeException when using javax.servlet.Filter

    IDE: JDev 10gR3.4 & JDev 11gR2.3
    ViewController technology: JSF/ADF Faces
    Example code flow:
    Run page2.jsf
    MyFilter intercepts request, checks for parameter on session.
    If parameter not null, goto page2.jsf
    Else redirect to page1.jsf
    page1.jsf has a button that sets the value on the session scope after clicking.
    In jdev 11gR2.3, I get an weblogic.utils.NestedRuntimeException after clicking the button on page1.jsf. This error does not occur in jdev 10gR3.5. Although the application continues to execute and proper info is displayed, I’m wondering why this occurs and also if I should be concerned. Has anyone experienced a similar issue when using javax.servlet.Filter in 11g?
    MyFilter code snipet:
        public void doFilter(ServletRequest servletRequest, ServletResponse servletResponse, FilterChain filterChain) {
            try {
                HttpServletRequest httpRequest = (HttpServletRequest)servletRequest;
                HttpServletResponse httpResponse = (HttpServletResponse)servletResponse;
                String redirect = httpRequest.getContextPath() + "/faces/page1.jsf"; //only difference here is 11g uses jsf, 10g uses jsp.
                String uri = httpRequest.getRequestURI().toString();
                Boolean mySessionAttribute = (Boolean)httpRequest.getSession().getAttribute("MYSESSIONATTRIBUTE");
                if (uri.endsWith(redirect) || mySessionAttribute != null) {
                    filterChain.doFilter(servletRequest, servletResponse);
                } else {

    I dont believe that solution pertains to my case. clicked() is invoked from standard jsf page and the adf controller is not acquired yet. i put a couple of print statements in the filter and it seems that the doFilter is called twice! This is not the case when running in 10g.

                } else {
                    System.out.println("URI sendRedirect: "+uri);
                    httpResponse.sendRedirect(redirect);
                }11g weblogic console log:
    URI sendRedirect: /11gFilterExample-ViewController-context-root/faces/page2
    URI dofilter: /11gFilterExample-ViewController-context-root/faces/page1.jsf
    URI dofilter: /11gFilterExample-ViewController-context-root/faces/page1.jsf
    10g oc4j console log:
    13/01/07 15:48:13 URI sendRedirect: /10gFilterExample-ViewController-context-root/faces/page2.jsp
    13/01/07 15:48:13 URI dofilter: /10gFilterExample-ViewController-context-root/faces/page1.jsp
    I believe whatever thats causing this occur could be why the exception is thrown...

  • GetOperationBinding("Commit") question

    Dear all,
    I created a backing bean for the save button like this:
    public String saveButton_action(){
    DCControlBinding ub = (DCControlBinding)getBindings().getControlBinding("ViewObject1");
    DCIteratorBinding br = ub.getDCIteratorBinding();
    ViewObject uv = br.getViewObject();
    OperationBinding ob = getBindings().getOperationBinding("Commit");
    ob.execute();
    However, it didn't save the changes to the database. In what condition it will not work?
    Since there is no error message so I don't know what wrong.
    Thank you!
    Regards,

    Hi,
    In the form (JSF), the save button I wrote: <af:commandButton text="Save" action="#{backing_bean.saveButton_action}"/>.
    The method I wrote is:
    public String saveButton_action(){
    FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    String loginId = Utils.getCurrentUserInfo().getUserId();
    DCControlBinding ub = (DCControlBinding)getBindings().getControlBinding("ViewObject1");
    DCIteratorBinding br = ub.getDCIteratorBinding();
    ViewObject uv = br.getViewObject();
    uv.getCurrentRow().setAttribute("LastUpdatedBy", loginId);
    OperationBinding ob = getBindings().getOperationBinding("Commit");
    ob.execute();
    The form is a edit form so when user click the save button, record will be updated. This is a master-detail form.
    On the other hand, the ViewObject1 is created with binding variables. Will it affect the function of the "getBindings().getOperationBinding("Commit");"?
    Thank you!
    Regards,

  • Problem to set the path of browser button in a textbox in JSF

    Hai guys I have a page which has a textbox and a command button. When I click the command button, a save dialogue box opens through which I can navigate to only DIRECTORIES and save my content. Therefore in the backend bean I have used a JFileChooser to invoke, I get the folder path, now my problem is to place this path into the textbox. How can I do that?
    I have used the fileUpload tag but in this it select only the files but not the folder? Can anyone suggest me the solution?

Java runs at the server side, so also Swing components. The client will only see the JFileChooser if it runs at the same machine as where the server runs. Which wouldn't occur in real world.

As JSF just wraps and renders HTML, it can also do nothing for you. Best what you can do is to write a signed applet or Web Start application which can select directories and send it to the server side.
