JSP 2.0 XSD

Hi all,
I want to edit JSP(X) 2.0 pages with an XML editor, but i can't find de schema definition file.
I found only the XSD for the 1.2 version of JSP and for de webapp deployment descriptor's JSP 2.0 part at http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee.
Thank's by advance,
Laurent

Short answer: there isn't one. Quotes from JSP 2.0 spec:
"JSP 2.0 requires only DTD validation for JSP Documents; containers should
not perform validation based on other types of schemas, such as XML schema."
"The current specification only requires DTD validation support for JSP documents.
A more flexible schema language, like XML Schema, could be useful and
could be explored by a future version of the JSP specification."
So no XSD.
From the wording, one might be forgiven for thinking that at least a DTD exists for JSP 2.0. Again, there is not.
Relevant Sun resources:
DTD/XSD for J2EE 1.3:
http://java.sun.com/dtd/
DTDs and XSD are available for JSP 1.2.
DTD/XSD for J2EE 1.4:
http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/
Validation is only given for descriptors.
Very disappointing on the whole.

    Hi,

    try {

  • How to get XSD data in workbench!

        Hi All,
      I am new to Adobe LC. I want to know the steps for how to get the form data into the process using XSD.
    I have one XSD and I created New Data Connection using XSD Schema and drag & drop all the fields into the form. I have one submit button also. The requirement is if I click on the submit button the data what I given in the form is captured in process(workbench) as a XML. Please tell me the steps.
    Regards,
    Srujan

    Now in the Servlet we can get the same bean by this code:
    PageContext pageContext = JspFactoryImpl.getDefaultFactory().getPageContext(this, request, response, null, true, 8192, true);
    UserBean userbean = (UserBean)pageContext.getAttribute("userbean", PageContext.SESSION_SCOPE);
    String userid = userbean.getUsername();
    For this code to work it is needed to import 2 files:
    import org.apache.jasper.runtime.JspFactoryImpl;
    import javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext;
    The JspFactoryImpl is in jasper-runtime.jar file provided in tomcat dir.It seems to me that you are exactly knowing what you are doing :-(
    You can get a Bean stored in a Session by
    request.getSession().getAttribute("userbean");
    In the login.jsp page for example we have the code
    <jsp:useBean id="userbean" scope="session"class="com.newproj.UserBean" />
    <jsp:setProperty name="userbean" property="*" />the jsp:setProperty is not called when you click on the submit button
    if fills the bean with the request values from the previous request.

  • How do I lookup an EJB 3.0 Session bean from servlet or JSP?

    Does anyone knows how can I invoke an EJB from a servlet or JSP ?
    I deployed a simple EJB on a Oracle Application Server 10g release 10.1.3 and I'm working with JDeveloper 10.1.3. I deployed the files via JDeveloper, and I didn´t specify any orion-ejb-jar.xml or ejb-jar.xml file
    After deployment, the orion-ejb-jar.xml look like this in the server:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <orion-ejb-jar xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oracleas/schema/orion-ejb-jar-10_0.xsd" deployment-version="10.1.3.0.0" deployment-time="10b49516c8f" schema-major-version="10" schema-minor-version="0" >
    <enterprise-beans>
    <session-deployment name="HolaMundoEJB" location="HolaMundoEJB" local-location="HolaMundoEJB_HolaMundoEJBLocal" local-wrapper-name="HolaMundoEJBLocal_StatelessSessionBeanWrapper6" remote-wrapper-name="HolaMundoEJB_StatelessSessionBeanWrapper7" persistence-filename="HolaMundoEJB.home_default_group_1">
    </session-deployment>
    </enterprise-beans>
    <assembly-descriptor>
    <default-method-access>
    <security-role-mapping name="<default-ejb-caller-role>" impliesAll="true" />
    </default-method-access>
    </assembly-descriptor>
    </orion-ejb-jar>
    I'm trying to invoke the ejb in a servlet by doing the following:
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, ....
    Context context = new InitialContext();
    HolaMundoEJB helloWorld =
    (HolaMundoEJB)context.lookup("java:com/env/ejb/HolaMundoEJB");
    String respuesta = helloWorld.sayHello("David");
    When i invoke the servlet I catch a NamingException whose message says something
    like this ....java:com/env/ejb/HolaMundoEJB not found in webLlamaEJB
    I tried different paths for the lookup but nothing....
    Can anyone help me with this topic? Thank you.

    Please try the following code:
    HelloEJBBean.java:
    @Stateless(name="Hello")
    @Remote(value={Hello.class})
    public class HelloEJBBean implements Hello {  ... }
    hello.jsp:
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    Hello h = (Hello)ctx.lookup("ejb/Hello");
    web.xml:
    <ejb-ref>
    <ejb-ref-name>ejb/Hello</ejb-ref-name>
    <ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>
    <remote>fi.kronodoc.test.model.Hello</remote>
    </ejb-ref>
    i think you should also define jndi mappings for the references in orion-ejb-jar.xml and orion-web.xml but for some reason it seems to be working also without these.

    Thanks and Regards,

    For installing JSTL, all you need are the jar files in the web-inf/lib directory.
    - No entries in web.xml
    - no tld files lying around
    - no problems!
    I think you may have a versioning problem here.
    What version of Tomcat are you using?
    With JSP1.2 (eg Tomcat 4), you should be using JSTL1.0. <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core" %>
    With JSP2.0 (eg Tomcat 5), you should use JSTL1.1. <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" %>
    Note the difference in the URIs. - the second one includes a /jsp
    Currently you are using the URI for JSTL1.0, but you look to have the tld from JSTL1.1. If you are using a JSP1.2 container, I don't think it could read this tld file, hence the error.
    Try installing the correct version of JSTL, properly (ie as they tell you in the readme file) and it should all work.

  • Need help in displaying XML in JSP

    Hi there,
    i'm a newbi in XML and Java - I have the following prob, think for most of u nothing very difficult (or better thought so, I've posted this question in different forums here, but nobody answers :)
    I get an XML response from a search engine, now I want to display the search result in a jsp.
    The result is stored in the session [I hope I figured out correctly ;)]
    with the following command ->
    this.pageContext.getSession().setAttribute(SEARCHRESULT, dSearchResult);
    [its from the java class, which generates the result]
    Result example ->
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <FindSearchResult xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="../xml/SearchResult.xsd">
    <Result Hits="2" Name="OfficeLand_en_US">
    <Items>
    <Item Score="250">
    <Field FieldNo="0" Name="ProductID">KqvAqAB1Tq0AAADnFthtpZvC</Field>
    <Field FieldNo="1" Name="CatalogCategoryID">gh0KAAFvj3wAAADiW8SMtr6o</Field>
    </Item>
    <Item Score="250">
    <Field FieldNo="0" Name="ProductID">4rwKAAFvtNYAAADiwdCMtr6o</Field>
    <Field FieldNo="1" Name="CatalogCategoryID">gh0KAAFvj3wAAADiW8SMtr6o</Field>
    </Item>
    </Items>
    <HitDistribution>
    <Hit Hits="75" Score="0"/>
    <Hit Hits="2" Score="250"/>
    </HitDistribution>
    </Result>
    </FindSearchResult>
    How many 'Field' elements exist, depends on the query.
    The result example is a response, which is send to my JSP page. It is stored in an variable under the name SEARCHRESULT (it's the result of a query in a search engine).
    My JSP page is the page, which should display the searchresult.
    So i need to know, how to programm something in my JSP page to check the SEARCHRESULT to display not the whole xml file. I just want to display all Items (compare with result example) -> The name of each existing FieldNo, the Score and the HitDistribution.
    Please help me :)

    hi there,
    first create a xml schema for the xml you will be receiving.
    use jaxb or castor with the schema and create a class.
    in your jsp unmarshal the xml result you are getting with the class
    generated by either jaxb or castor. the class will have methods that return you the required elements.
    get to know xml schema better and just a pass thru of jaxb or castor will solve the problem.

    Despite the fact that in preferences it says the folder is located in "C:\itunes
    Setting iTunes prefs -> Advanced simply sets the locaion of the iTunes Music/Media folder. It does not set the location of the iTunes folder, which the default location is \My Music\iTunes\. This contains the library files, which tells iTunes where/what everything is.
    We have drive space for 'personal' use on the C Drive. This is where I keep my itunes folder,
    Is this the \iTunes\ folder an in it is the iTunes library.itl file, iTunes music library.xml, iTunes media folder, Artwork folder, Previous iTunes libraries folder and a few other files?
    If so, hold Shift and launch iTunes. Select *Choose library* and select the *iTunes library.itl* file in this folder.
    iTunes will not create an iTunes folder in \My Music\.

  • Import interfaces in jsp

    Hi, all.
    I'm new with EJB and try to test something in order to get to know EJB.
    I just faced with some problem. I am trying to solve this for couple hours now..
    Here is the problem.
    I get this error when I compile jsp file.
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\TestEApps\TestEApps-war\build\generated\src\org\apache\jsp\actionForm_jsp.java:8: '.' expected
    import HelloEJBRemoteHome;
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\TestEApps\TestEApps-war\build\generated\src\org\apache\jsp\actionForm_jsp.java:9: '.' expected
    import HelloEJBRemote;
    Here is the source code for this.
    <%@page contentType="text/html"%>
    <%@page pageEncoding="UTF-8"%>
    <%@page import="javax.naming.*"%>
    <%@page import="javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject"%>
    <%@page import="HelloEJBRemoteHome"%>
    <%@page import="HelloEJBRemote"%>
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
    <title>JSP Page</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <%
    String text;
    try{
    text = request.getParameter("name");
    }catch(Exception e){
    text = null;
    Context initial = new InitialContext();
    Object obj = initial.lookup("HelloEJBBean");
    HelloEJBRemoteHome home = (HelloEJBRemoteHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(obj,HelloEJBRemoteHome.class);
    HelloEJBRemote hello1 = home.create();
    out.println("Hello," & hello1.getHello());
    %>
    </body>
    </html>
    and here is the configuration file
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ejb-jar version="2.1" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/ejb-jar_2_1.xsd">
    <display-name>TestEApps-EJBModule</display-name>

    <home>Hello.HelloEJBRemoteHome</home>
    <remote>Hello.HelloEJBRemote</remote>
    <ejb-class>Hello.HelloEJBBean</ejb-class>
    <session-type>Stateless</session-type>
    <transaction-type>Bean</transaction-type>
    </session>
    </enterprise-beans>
    <assembly-descriptor>
    <container-transaction>
    <method>
    <ejb-name>HelloEJBBean</ejb-name>
    <method-name>*</method-name>
    </method>
    <trans-attribute>Required</trans-attribute>
    </container-transaction>
    </assembly-descriptor>
    </ejb-jar>
    What's wrong with this?
    Thank you.

    Hmm try doing your context like this....
    InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
    HelloEJBRemoteHome  home = (HelloEJBRemoteHome ) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(ctx.lookup("ejb/HelloApp/HelloEJB"),HelloEJBRemoteHome.class);Note.... A EJB application has these classes..
    HelloEJB.java
    HelloEJBBean.java
    HelloEJBRemote.java
    HelloEJBRemoteHome.java
    So you have to set up the Context in a way of ejb/HelloApp/HelloEJB
    Which ejb is standard, and HelloApp is the application name localhost:8080/HelloApp/ and HelloEJB is the HelloEJB.java class
    REmember that HelloEJB.java extends the EJB Object so that the EJB Interface will take care of all the remote...
    You have to organize your EJB beans and Home Locals and Remotes... It is a bit complicated telling you what is wrong if we don't know your full structure...
    But thats the taste of it

    thnak you

    hi evnafets,
    thnak you
    for the reply
    I presume you have a session.setAttribute() call in your servlet? yes so what is the mistake I made?1. I put both standard.jar and jstl.jar under E:\apache-tomcat-6.0.10\lib
    2. I copy the tld into E:\apache-tomcat-6.0.10\webapps\Hall\WEB-INF\
    3. I change my xml to<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

  • Portlet Edit Mode in a Remote Portlet doesn't work with JSP

    I am facing a strange problem. I created a protelet and attached the edit to a JSP Page(edit.jsp). When I create a portlet of this and display in a portal, the edit works fine in case of a local portlet. But when the same is made as a remote portlet, I get an Operation failed fault.
    The exception is:
    Fault: {urn:oasis:names:tc:wsrp:v1:types}OperationFailed
    Internal Server Error: Page Flow [testPortlet.edit.edit.jsp] is invalid..; nested exception is: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Page Flow [testPortlet.edit.edit.jsp] is invalid
    Does anyone know why the edit in a remote portlet works only with a page flow?

    There is no edit mode defined in this portlet.

  • Taglib element not allowed in web.xml conforming to web-app_2_4.xsd ?

    Hello,
    I want to configure taglibs in my web.xml file.
    The beginning of the file looks like this:
    <web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee"
          xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
          xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd"
          version="2.4">I placed the following:
    <taglib>
        <taglib-uri>/tags/struts-bean</taglib-uri>
        <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/struts-bean.tld</taglib-location>
    </taglib>element just after the welcome-file-list element. When I "validate XML" in Netbeans I get :
    cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with element 'taglib'. One of '{"http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":description, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":display-name, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":icon, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":distributable, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":context-param, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":filter, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":filter-mapping, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":listener, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":servlet, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":servlet-mapping, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":session-config, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":mime-mapping, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":welcome-file-list, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":error-page, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":jsp-config, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":security-constraint, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":login-config, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":security-role, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":env-entry, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":ejb-ref, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":ejb-local-ref, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":service-ref, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":resource-ref, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":resource-env-ref, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":message-destination-ref, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":message-destination, "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee":locale-encoding-mapping-list}' is expected.     cvc-complex-type.2.3: Element 'web-app' cannot have character [children], because the type's content type is element-only. [71]
    XML validation finished.Indeed, looking at the web-app_2_4.xsd I cannot find a description for the taglib element.
    Where should a put taglibs ? Is it enough to include them in every JSP so I don't need to place them in web.xml ?
    Thank you.
    Vlad.

    web.xml 2.4 uses a <jsp-config> to enclose the
    <tag-lib>
    <jsp-config>
    <tag-lib>
    </tag-lib>
    </jsp-config>I believe that is the syntax. I will check when I get
    to my server comp.You are right. That's how it's done. Thanks a lot for the reply.
    I hope there were good reasons to break compatibility with the old format. There are a lot of examples out there that use the old one. Without knowing the reason for such a change, I find it very annoying.
    Thanks again
    Vlad.

  • JSP and JAXB

    DB Structure
    Parent Table - Incident --> Child Table - IncidentCharges --> Child Table of IncidentCharges --> IncidentChargeWeapons
    Container
    Oracle Containers for JAVA(OC4J)
    We have a schema (Incident.xsd) which comprises of our entire database structure. We unmarshalled the schema using JAXB to Java classes and interfaces .
    It created 2 .java classes and 2 .java interfaces for each high level tag . for eg for our Incident tag it created a Incident interface and a IncidentType Interface
    and also it created 2 classes IncidentImpl and IncidentTypeImpl . The IncidentTypeImpl has all the get and set properties we require eg. getIncidentType,
    setIncidentType,getIncidentNumber,setIncidentNumber,getOccuranceDate,setOccuranceDate etc.
    Our objective is to create a JSP page which has form fields to enter data which use these JAXB generated classes get and set properties. In other words
    we want to bind the JSP form fields to these JAXB generated classes. And once these JAXB objects are populated we want to marshal it and create a XML file with the data from those JAXB . Our database would then consume the generated XML. We tried creating a simple incident form with just 3 fields IncidentType,Occurance date and Incident Number and tried to bind these fields with the properties from IncidentTypeImpl classes using the <jsp:usebean> tag . When we deployed it to our container and tried to load the Incident.jsp page , it would not load up . Only when we cleared all the bindings it loaded up .
    Then we tried another workaround (just to get it working. Not a preferred approach) . We created another simple JAVA bean(not JAXB generated beans) which has set and get properties for the form fields and bound the form fields to it.
    On submitting the JSP page we called a servlet which takes data from our created bean and transfers it to the JAXB generated IncidentTypeImpl bean. When we deployed this the jsp page loads up and also our bean is filled with data . But the servlet bombs with this error below.

    We have 2 questions .
    1. Can a JSP page be bound directly to this JAXB generated bean in pretty much the same way as we bind it to our own bean ? (We would like to do this so that we dont have to create duplicate classes which mirror the JAXB generated classes.)
    2. Is there something special we have to do to deploy this application to recognize the JAXB classes. Do we have to deploy some jar file for it to recognize those classes ?

    I've used oracle's xdk to generate both the interfaces and the implementation classes. Next i've implemented a service class with some methods to return java classes as generated by oracle's jaxb. The return types of these service methods are interfaces, not the implementation classes.
    I can generate an adf data control for this service class, but the data control palette doesn't show the attributes for the jaxb generated classes (i have changed the bean class property in the data control description xml file).
    It's not possible to ignore the interfaces and just use the implementation classes, as the implementation classes specify their return types in interfaces. I don't want to rewrite all the generated code.
