Jsp class files
i am using 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2a on windows server family 2000.
I deployed my application successfully on server. It is business component containing application developed in JDeveloper 3.2.
My application is running successfully. But the problem is
My jsp page is "index.jsp", when i restart oc4j some times it generates "_index.java/class" and some times generates "_Index.class/java". If generated by "_Index" and i access index.jsp it gives error of wrong name.
Similarly my page is "SDevelperLogin.jsp" and it generates "SDeveloperLogin" or "SdeveloperLogin".
How this problem can be controlled ???
Tahir Pervaiz.
Tahir,
I would strongly recommend tha tyou upgrade to Oracle9iAS v9.0.2
There have been lot of improvents and fixes in v902.
You cannot plug in the OC4J v902 standalone into Oracle9iAS env.
Also, I suggest that you please install the OC4J standalone in a separate directory. ( it just a zip file, you unzip
it in a separate directory) To test out your app on OC4J standalone it would just take a few minutes..
Once you unzip, follow the following steps:
cd to the j2ee/home directory
java -jar oc4j.jar -install
//It will ask you to enter and reconfirm the admin password
java -jar oc4j.jar
//the above command will start the
you can use the admin.jar to deploy your ear file to OC4J standalone.
check out chapter 2 of standalone user's guide.

Does WLS check if the JSP .class files have been modified?
When I precompile the JSPs from the command line with weblogic.jspc while WLS is running,
does WLS check to see if the .class files have been updated and reload them?
BEA Support says 5.1 SP8 does (case 198104).
I thought I read an 'Issue' saying it did (9841?) - I can't find it now.
It does not appear to.
Mike
It was this issue - 9341 - the description is kinda vague

Where Can I Find the JSP Class files on OC4J (Orion server)
I am using Oracle J2EE Container (OC4J 1.0.2.2 aka Orion server) and I need to find the ".class" file generated for each JSP I created. I've looked under the "WEB-INF" directory under the "application" directory and the "persistence" directory under application-deployments and didn't find them. Any help would be appreciated. Where Can I Find the JSP Class files on OC4J
Hi,

I've looked under the "WEB-INF" directory under the "application" directory and the "persistence" directory under application-deployments and didn't find them. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.your jsp class are compiled in a file named namejsp.jsp.jspCache in the application-deployments\your app\persistence ...
but this file is not readable.
To hav your jsp like .class you have to delete your directory applications-deployments\your app
and open the file orion-web.xml and add the following:
development="true" under the tag jsp-cahce-dirctory
restart the server and then your jsp are created like .class -

How to call a class file in a jsp without deploying anything in j2ee
Hi,
I am new in J2EE. I have some jsps, which I configured using web.properties(documentroot=c:/jsp/). I am able to get
those pages by the web browser. I have some import statements in some jsps, now I
am trying to access those page but it is failing, it says
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for
JSPD:\j2sdkee1.3\repository\pradip\web\_0002fLogin_0002ejspLogin_jsp_0.java:1:
Class com.gui.UPMGuiGlobalConstants not found in import.
import com.gui.UPMGuiGlobalConstants;
Actually I have not deployed any class file or jsps.. Now my question is can I access
these jsps without deploying anything, like can I put my .jar file in any j2ee
directory(like lib or anywhere else, I already tried after putting in /lib) and restart the
j2ee and use it. So how can I call a class file from a jsp without any kind of
deployment?
Please send me the reply as soon as possible.
Regds,
PradipAfter you put the jar containing the class to import into the WEB-INF/lib directory, you still need to include it in the jsp.
Putting the jar into the lib dir, will make it available to the vm, but as in any other java class, you still need to import it into the class, that the jsp will be compiled into.
And you do that by putting
<%@page import="com.gui.UPMGuiGlobalConstants" %>somewhere near the top of your jsp. (well you don't need to put it there, but it good style ;)
That should do it. -
How to convert a .jsp to a .java/.class file for use in peoplesoft
Hi java/jsp experts,
I want to convert a .jsp to a .java/.class file. is there a tool available, please let me know if you have any pointers....
or can i do it manually:
these are a few lines that the .jsp contains, and i would like to translate this to be in .java/.class format:
<%@ page import="sun.misc.BASE64Encoder, javax.crypto., javax.crypto.spec."%>
<%@ page import="java.util.StringTokenizer" %>
<%@ page import="java.util.Map" %>
<%!
sb.append("<input type=\"hidden\" name=\"orderPage_serialNumber\" value=\"");
sb.append(serialNumber);
sb.append("\">\n");
return sb.toString();
%>
how can i translate the above import statements and html elements from jsp to java, please let me know.
Once i have the .java file created from the .jsp, I will compile .java to create the .class file and invoke the .class in peoplecode by using java apis available in peopletools.
Thanks in advance.Is there a way convert a binary .exe file( compiled by
another compiler) into Java .class/.jar file ? Anyone
know of a free program that can do this?It's not possible. There are many decompilers and disassemblers for Java but nothing will take you from ANY binary to Java source. It would be the end of computing as we know it and the beginning of a new era -:) -
How to include a .class file in a jsp page

the problem still remains as it is...

i have tried my best..but tell me if there's any possible way of including a class file in the jsp page without involving a package.No, there isn't.

Trying to run java class files from my jsp
I am having difficulty running java files from my jsp. I have compiled my two java classes and inserted them onto my server in the webapps/WEB-INF/classes/scripting directory and have imported scripting.* into my jsp page. The files both compiled ok before the class files were loaded onto the server but when I rty to run the jsp from the server, I keep getting a compiler error. Thanks in advance
IobHere are the few question
1) Does your java classes which u created is declared under package scripting. *.class files are to be places under the WEB-INF/classes directory only. Not under scripting. But if you java classes say are under a package called a.b. Then you need to put under classes\a\b\. -

The code I am using is working fine in a class file but wont work in my jsp.
<%@page import="java.util.*,java.lang.String"%>
Date date = new Date();
String dateString = String.format("%tb%td",date,date);
System.out.println(dateString);Any ideas?I get excactly the same problem.
If compile the the JSP in Netbeans it works fine, however when Tomcat attempts to compile it into a servlet at runtime, I get the same error as described.
This is the line in JSP that fails:
<code>Some more text <%= String.format("%s","Bizarre") %> </code>However this one works OK:
<code>Some more text <%= "Bizarre".substring(3) %> </code>Its almost as if Tomcat is compiling under JDK 1.4.2 or something but I don't have any other JDK or JRE installed; only 1.5.
I suspect it may be a Tomcat setting that's causing a 1.4 code compliance.
In Netbeans, if I go to the project properties -> Sources, at the bottom is the "Source Level" drop down list. If I change this to 1.4 and clean and build the whole project I get the same error when the jsp (or any class with this construct) is compiled by NetBeans.
Note: I am using the Netbeans 5.0 and Tomcat and 5.5.9 co-bundle which I downloded from the Sun website.
Can anyone help?
