jsp:directive.include file=("page3" pubType + ".jsp") flush="true" /

<jsp:directive.include file=("page3" + <%= pubType %> + ".jsp") flush="true" />

  • Weblogic 9.1/10 not working on jsp:directive.include file="file.jspf"/

    Does anyone know how to get rid of this problem? I have a jsp page including a sun java studio creator created page fragment using the tag:
    <jsp:directive.include file="myHeader.jspf"/>
    here myHeader.jspf is a page fragment.
    after deployment, weblogic server report error as:
    weblogic.servlet.jsp.CompilationException: Failed to compile JSP /Page1.jsp
    Page1.jsp:15:57: Error in "C:\bea\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\AdminServer\tmp\_WL_user\proj\grb4mk\war\myHeader.jspf" at line 1: The encoding "null" specified in the XML prolog is unsupported.
    <jsp:directive.include file="myHeader.jspf"/>
    ^----------------^
    Any idea? I tried both weblogic 9 and 10, same error, change to
    <jsp:include page="myHeader.jspf"/>
    works. the question is: why not read jsp 1.2 tag? Any way to make it work with jsp:directive.include tag?
    thanks in advance.

    The "jsp:directive.include" tag is only valid in an well-formed XML file that specifies all the relevant namespaces. The "jsp:include" tag is used in a JSP file. I'll bet the beginning of your file shows that you don't have a valid and well-formed XML file.
    If you found that "jsp:include" worked, then that confirms you have an ordinary JSP file here. Why are you trying to use the XML form? The result of "jsp:include" in a JSP file will be exactly the same as the analogous tag in an XML file.

  • Parametricizing the file name in the jsp directive %@ include file=

    Is there any way to parametricize the file name in the above directive. Am not too keen on using
    <jsp:include ..
    because of performance issues and also i am only including a static HTML issues.
    Any responses would be appreciated?

    Nope.
    The <%@ include %> occurs at the time of translating/compiling the jsp into a servlet. It thus cannot accept any runtime parameters.
    Are the performance issues of using <jsp:include> that large?

  • Dynamic menu doesn't work with f:verbatim and jsp:directive.include

    Is it not possible to include fragment part in a panel page containing some dynamic menus ?
    This work fine:
    <af:panelPage title="Application home">
    <f:facet name="menu1">
    <af:menuTabs var="menuTab" value="#{menuModel.model}">
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:commandMenuItem text="#{menuTab.label}"
    action="#{menuTab.getOutcome}"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:menuTabs>
    </f:facet>
    But replacing these entry by a fragment doesn't work, as this:
    <af:panelPage title="Application home">
    <f:facet name="menu1">
    <f:verbatim>
    <jsp:directive.include file="/menuTab.jspf"/>
    </f:verbatim>
    </f:facet>
    the fragment code:
    <f:subview id="menuTab">
    <af:menuTabs var="menuTab" value="#{menuModel.model}">
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:commandMenuItem text="#{menuTab.label}"
    action="#{menuTab.getOutcome}"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:menuTabs>
    </f:subview>

    Oh, God, why not tell me earlier!!!!!! I do use tomcat 3.1 and it just support servlet. I have no way out but modify all my jsp:include to encoding into a servlet page. I almost re-do all my work. But anyway, thank you! Next time I will know.

  • jsp:directive-include fails when deployed to 10gAS (10.1.2)

    I am working on an ADF-Faces application (EA17) but am struggling with some issues that only appear when we deploy the application. One is an IllegalStateException that I mention in an earlier posting and an other is that the < jsp: directive-include > tag is supported in our JDeveloper release but when we deploy it the pages will not display and we see from our error log that the < jsp: directive-include > is not supported.
    I did a find . -name "jsp*jar" in the $ORACLE_HOME folder of the deployment system and my local JDeveloper and my local $ORACLE_HOME and in all cases came up with the same jsp-el-api.jar and jsp-api-2.0.jar files (3086 and 49510 bytes respectively) Not being a J2EE expert I'm a little confused as to what is going on. If the same JSP jars are in both cases why does it work on my local JDeveloper but not on the server?
    Thanks, Mark

    OC4J 10.1.2 is a J2EE 1.3 server, so it is not JSP 2.0 - it's JSP 1.2. You don't deploy jsp-api-2.0 JARs into a J2EE server - it already has its own version of JSP.
    OC4J 10.1.3 is a J2EE 1.4 server, which includes JSP 2.0. Is your local JDev 10.1.3 or 10.1.2?

  • [jsp] about include files

    I have a question as follow.
    <%
    String head = "abc.html";
    %>
    <%@ include file="\"" + head + "\"" %>
    this program code doesn't work.
    can I include files by variant?
    thank you.

    Hello,
    Yes, one can include files by variants this way:
    <jsp:include page="<%=fileName%>" flush="true" />
    I do not know why the include directive does not allow it. However, I hope it helps.

  • Include files from a different project ...

    Hi,
    I have projects A and B.
    Project A contains "includes": a directory with several include files.
    Project A gets deployed as a JAR file (ProjectA.jar). Example content:
      /includes/menu.jspfThe target directory for Project A's deployment JAR file is set to: /
    Project A has the following HTML Root Directory: ...AppA\ProjectA\public_html
    Project B has the following HTML Root Directory: ...AppB\ProjectB\public_html
    Project B needs the include files from Project A.
    Project B has Project A as a dependency.
    Project B has ProjectA.jar within its WEB-INF\lib directory.
    The problems are:
    1. Project B does not see the "includes" directory within its "Web Content" folder from Project A. How do you make Project B see Project A's includes directory?
    2. Project B cannot compile the following code:
    <jsp:directive.include file="/includes/menu.jspf" />
      ...The error message: Include file not found: /includes/menu.jspf
    The error message is to be expected as Project B cannot currently see the files located within WEB-INF\lib\ProjectA.jar. How can this be fixed?
    3. I have tried changing the HTML Root Directory to the "public_html" directories from both Project A and Project B. JDeveloper then displays an error indicating that it cannot find <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f"%>.
    There should be a way to do this, as the images and styles for ADF are successfully deployed and used within WEB-INF\temp\adf.
    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    I used a program called "Junction" to resolve this issue. It is a temporary solution.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896768.aspx
    The program makes a true symbolic link. This allowed me to link the includes directory from ProjectA into ProjectB. Linking this way will not work when we go to deploy a suite of applications. We would prefer to package the includes in a single JAR file, then redeploy the JAR file everywhere.
    Any other ideas?

  • Include file is not found by MDS

    In my home.jspx file, I have <jsp:directive.include file="/common/includes/layout.jspf"/> which essentially to include layout file and the path is relative to context root. I got the following error:
    INFO: Using the ProviderURI /mdssys/ViewController/src/main/webapp/secure/ml3/homepage/home.jspx that is returned from custom provider for processing requests.
    Jun 13, 2007 7:46:33 PM oracle.jsp.logger.JspMessages infoCannotDispatchJspPage
    INFO: Unable to dispatch JSP Page : Exception:oracle.mds.exception.MDSRuntimeException: No metadata found for metadata object "/common/includes/layout.jspf"
    No metadata found for metadata object "/common/includes/layout.jspf"
    Interestingly enough that mds doesn't use the web application root context as the reference.
    Anybody has found or knows how to solve this problem?
    Thanks.

    I found the way to fix this. In my case, I included "J2ee_1.3.01.jar" in to the project libraries which caused the problem. So just get rid of that jar file from the project libraries.

  • Including a file in a JSP from a different application

    I have two different applications deployed in a Java Application Server 7 (their context root are "\Start" and "\Portal"). The second one uses a JSP of the first one doing like this:
    File: \Portal\index.jsp
    <%@include file="/Start/control.jsp"%>
    But I get a "File not found error" of file "\Start\control.jsp" when I call "/Portal/index.jsp" in the browser.
    On the other hand, when I call direclty that page from the browser using the URL "http://server/Start/control.jsp", this page works properly.
    I have read in JSP documentation that if you put the forward slash "/" before the name of file, the include directive uses an absolute path instead of relative path.
    According to this theory, the include directive in "/Portal/index.jsp" should find the file and copy the content into index.jsp before compilation, but it does not work.
    I have try this sample in other environments such as JRun and Tomcat and I works properly.
    Is this a specific thing of Java Application Server 7?
    Can I do something to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance

    This would be very useful to integrate static content HTML into the JSP page from an absolute path related to the site not only to the application (the WAR file).
    But what about to include into a JSP page the content of another JSP page before the compilation into a servlet.
    I mean ...
    I have a JSP file in this path of the Web site "/Start/control.jsp" that it is deploy using the WAR file Start.war.
    I have another JSP file in this path of the Web site "/Portal/index.jsp" that it is deploy using the WAR file Portal.war.
    As we have seen, they are different applications so if I put into file "/Portal/index.jsp" the line
    <%@include file="/Start/control.jsp"%>
    , it does not work
    if I put into file "/Portal/index.jsp" the line
    <io:request url="/Start/control.jsp"/>
    , it does not work because there are some objects define in the control.jsp file (for instance, a variable called "name") that are used in the index.jsp file and in time of compilation, a line in generated with this code:
    out.write("<io:request url=\"/Start/control.jsp\"/>\r\n");
    but there is no a copy of content of control.jsp in index.jsp before trying conversion to servlet. So when compilation goes on, it produces an error because it says that the variable "name" has not been declared (and the declaration is inside control.jsp).
    That's way I need a sentence to include the code of a JSP into another JSP before compilation. A kind of concatenation of files or something similar previous to conversion and compilation to servlet.

    Ramesh,
              We experienced this sympton as well. In our JSPs, we converted
              <%@ include file="xyz.jsp"%> (static include, source time) to
              <jsp:include page="licensedQuote.jsp"/> (dynamic include, run time)
              and the problem went away.
              We still use static includes at the very start of the JSPs. It seems the problem only occurs when the static include is inside of a tag whose body does JSP evaluation.

  • How can I include a jsp file in other jsp from different applications?

              Hi,
              I'd like know if it´s possible to include jsp or servlet from different applications.

              Thanks Deepak but I think you don´t understand me.
              I would like the include works like a normal include. I have a jsp in my application
              and , when the client requests this jsp, in the jsp should be added the result
              of the other jsp ejecution that belong to other application in the same domain.
              Is this possible?
              Thank you very much.

    Check the path you've specified. It may well be;
    <%@include file="hello.jsp" %>or
    <%@include file="/Includes/hello.jsp" %>
